Not sure why all of the low reviews. I've been coming here since I was a kid and the food has always been great. I usually get a full rack of ribs which comes with a salad and a side of your choice: I usually choose the mashed potatoes as a side. I honestly haven't had better ribs in life. Also the Caesar dressing is so darn good, I should ask them for the recipe! The service is usually good. The decor is comfortable. read more

Definitely doesn't look like anything when you're on the road but it's a cute little place. The food is really good. If you know the Poconos, you know there's not many places to eat. We stopped in for lunch. The waitress was very sweet. I would definitely come back here again. Shrimp basket was good. Husband had the grilled cheese with fries decent sized salads as well for the price, you can't beat it. Very noisy though and there weren't many people here the room echoes. read more

My husband and I moved to the area a little over two years ago and are constantly trying to find good dependable places that are not too far from home. Considering where we live everything is a pretty long drive so this being within 10 miles is something I consider, not far from home. We have been here a couple of times now, and we have not been disappointed at all. The menu is awesome. There are so many great things to pick from. It's hard to decide. I have a long running list of things that I want to try there. If you're looking for someplace where you have a good selection, and you're in this area, I really don't see how you could be disappointed! As a matter fact, I think you'll be surprised. It's kind of unassuming looking from the outside. It's a cute building, but it doesn't look like you're going to get chef prepared food, but that will surprise you. read more

So glad Woody's was open! We called ahead for pick up. Waited for a few minutes but it wasn't too crowded so I felt safe. I ordered the salmon New Orleans with garlic linguine. Still nice and hot when we got home. Great flavor on the salmon. Husband had cheese steak special with onion rings. All gone must have been great! Food was so fresh and great. We were in the area and just wanted somewhere quiet to eat with the kids, we liked it so much we invited my in laws to dine with us. We tried so much of the menu that we are convinced it is just an amazing restaurant all around! We had the Shrimp Scampi, BLT, Chicken Tenders, California Burger and Grilled Salmon. Got seated right away. Got our menus and waitress took our drink order. Two waters as it was our first time here and we wanted to focus on the menu. Waited and watched two other tables get seated. Then they both got their drinks and placed food orders. I watched as one table got bread and another got drink refills. There's a little place not far from the Pocono Racetrack, Woody's Country House. If you're hungry, stop by. I stopped in for lunch today, after driving by the place dozens, if not more times, on my way to somewhere else. I ate one of the best burgers I have had in a very long time. It was as near to perfect as any burger could be, and I'm a pretty good cook. The burger was hot and fresh, as well as the fries. Timing to the table was perfect. I did not see the grill, but the taste was 'fresh off a charcoal grill' Their menu is much more extensive than burgers, but, if they put that much care and thought into 'just a burger', I'd eat everything else. read more

Woody's Country House is a local bar/restaurant in a place where there aren't many places to choose from. It's in a little modest cabin looking place on the side of the road. When we came in on a Saturday evening it was kinda quiet, not many people inside... maybe two other tables were occupied. Some people were at the bar. Our waitress was good, friendly. I ordered some chicken tenders with a side salad. Simple. I believe the other people I was with ordered some shrimp scampi and a ribs entree. The food didn't take long to make... I think because it was frozen food and they just reheated it. Lacked flavor. Nothing about the food here is remarkable, just average. Prices weren't average though. They also have a big menu, I think they should narrow it down more. But like I said considering the area, it's alright. read more

Decided to come here after an event nearby based on the high reviews. Well, what a key down. We were a party of 7, but the restaurant was fairly empty on a Saturday at 2pm. We ordered burgers, and the waitress was very nice. An hour later, however, we had still not been served. I realize things might roll a bit slower in the Poconos, but come on. The table next to us experienced similar, and after they complained a third table up and left before ordering after realizing what they were in for. The waitress then apologized for being understaffed, but like I said, the place was basically empty. The food itself was OK. Fries were quite good, burgers were average. Wouldn't return. read more

When our group came inside we were immediately told that we will not be seated, even though there were many parties inside eating their food and enjoying theirselves. The only difference was that everyone seated was white while we were a group of colored young men. The staff was very friendly and attentive, especially toward my two younger children. The salads and apps were delicious and delivered quickly, and despite their warning, which we appreciated, the entrees came out sooner than expected. Everything was delicious. Woodsy was a half a mile from the hotel we stayed at. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but we were tired and wanted to grab a quick dinner close by. Went in on a Saturday evening. We were told as we came in, they were busy, we can be seated, but could not order food for 30 minutes. We could order drinks. We were ok with this, both of us have worked in restaurants before and have eaten at plenty. We were pleased with the wait staff being up front with us. 30 minutes was doable. While waiting to order, we were given a basket of home made bread. The bread was great. Once we were given the ok to order food, out appetizers came out in reasonable time. The Texas Toothpics were great. Our salads had home made croutons. The house dressing was good. When our food came out to the table. Hot! I had the seafood fra diablo, the seafood was cooked perfectly. My wife had chicken carbonara, the chicken was tender and the broccoli & bacon were cooked perfectly. We were told that by our waitress that everything is home made. And only two people in the kitchen doing all of the cooking, with not much workspace in the kitchen. The quality of our meals made up for the wait for us to order. This is deffinetly palace to visit again. Well worth the trip. read more
