Diegos is a staple in the BX. It has been around forever and the pizza is great! They have an option with pepperoni, ham, and corn and it really hits the spot. I try to grab a slice whenever I am in the area. Thin crust with a nice crunch, tangy sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. Delicious Menu is impressive and so is the price. Everything is very affordable especially with rising costs and inflation. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the delivery guy even cracked a joke when I picked up my order. I never ever like doing this . Today on the other hand I was already 3x displeased. I typically order delivery , although I have walked into the shop. Everytime I have ordered food for delivery or to dine in, it has typically passed the food taste and expectation criteria for the Bronx. Unfortunately the last few times I ordered delivery , it was not good. Last time I ordered two slices and one Cesar shrimp salad with avocado and mozzarella. I get my delivery.... the salad has no avocado on it although I was charged . I could not focus on the avocado missing because when I went to grab the slice , the dough was so so soooo soggy that it fell and disassembled ok I thought that means the dough isn't fresh . I love pizza I know a crispy fresh dough when I see it . that was not it . so I end up throwing away my slices and getting a salad with minus the toppings that I paid extra for . I like Diego's so I didn't say anything . just threw it away .... Today I say let me give it another chance a week later which is today . I order the same exact thing . 2 slices ceaser shrimp salad avocado and mozzarella . I say to the young man after telling him my order . don't forget my avocado like last time . he replies ok I won't . when I get the delivery I see there's no pizza box for my two slices . I ask the delivery guy whose come to my home before. Hi is my two slices there he says yes.. but I see there's no way. I open the bag , one Ceaser salad no avocado no mozzarella cheese of the cheese was there it was not visible and no avocado visible or invisible. so I say ah it's ok I'm gonna enjoy the pizza slices .... no pizza slices . i call back and say hey my two slices are missing . He said you didn't order any . I said I sure did it's my same order evertime. i said what did I pay 20.00 for ? a salad and two soft drinks . I open my salad it's lettuce parm bread crumbs shrimps . no avocado no mozzarella no two slice . at this point I was furious . bought the 20 dollar salad with nothing in it but lettuce shrimp and croutons back to the store and said I don't want my money this is twice you done this . take your food back and thank you . One of the better spots of this area especially for lunch. Personally, I never come to this place for the pizza (always looks cold and way too much cheese) although I hear they're ok. The rolls and other options don't look half bad. Primarily, its the salad bowls- $4 without extras (beyond 4 ingredient limit), decent selection, pretty fresh and I can never finish a bowl in one sitting. The cooks there are fast, efficient and seem to know a lot of the regulars' names. The garlic knots where a little dry and the pizza itself wasn't that great, although is still better than the dominos in the area and the slices are very big. I speak for my whole office when I say, horrible customer service. The manager is rude beyond belief. They are always missing items requested in your order (Salad, no salad dressing. avocado wrap, no avocado. beverage) then when you call to retrieve those items they argue and swear up and down that you never asked for it. Even though you go over there and physically show them they did not include it in your order. It is unfortunate because the food is good yet they severely lack customer service skills.
