We stopped in last Monday for lunch. We sat...and sat. Finally, a server showed up and took a drink order. She came back a few minutes later with 2/3 drinks and then we didn't see her again. We waited over 15 minutes and finally decided to leave (we left cash on the table for our iced tea). There were 3 tables of people in the whole place, and 2 people sitting at the bar...we counted 4 servers. We ended up going across the street to Zinburger. Cool Atmosphere, Good Band, Then Weird Rap/Club Music? The band last night was actually really good and made for some good background music for our birthday party. Hey really did a great job! The atmosphere is cool, the ceiling is like a big wooden barn. Above the bar is the old western tin roof bar style. All in all it's got a good feel to it. Not much of a cider selection... Reds on tap for $6 per Little cup... They did have Strongbow cans for $6 too which were better... No Angry Orchards or Maynard though... Pretty high priced when you are buying cheap reds in plastic cups for $6 each though... If you are at a table you might as well get up and get your own drinks.... We sat down and 15 minutes went by before anyone said anything to us. Then she took the order came back and asked if we wanted a tab and I said we would just pay cash, and asked my total. She didn't know... How do you not know the total for 2 ciders? Friends arrived and over the course of 3 more hours only at one time did anyone ask if we wanted anything else so we contributed to work through the crowd to the bar to serve ourselves... PS: We have learned never to do a tab after the last Whisky Row experience where we were at the bar only 4 of us and some other people knocked one of our drinks over and talked to us afterwards for a bit. The bartender then gave them free drinks on our tab all night somehow thinking we were all together and I was everyone's father or something and would somehow pay for anyone who talked to us. I've had more than one issue with the bouncers at the front door, and not due to me drinking or picking in fights but rather trying to get in to have dinner. My girlfriend asked if I wanted to have dinner last Saturday night at WR, she wanted to meet there at 9 and she had a reservation since their dinner rush tends to be busy and their kitchen doesn't close till later so I didn't see any issues with this. When I got there (around 910) and walked past the "night club line" (about 50 deep) I informed bouncer #1 that I was meeting my friends for dinner and that they were inside already at a table, he said "you'll have to wait in line." I told him no way are you serious, which to he replied, " yeah I am." I asked to speak with a supervisor and he pointed me to another bouncer behind him and said you can ask him. As I was letting him know of the situation my gf walked up and I said there she is, she has a table and he said "Nope, cant let you in." I cursed them out and swore, never again am I coming back here. I can't wait for a manager that has some common sense. What more is that I left a vm for the manager to inform him of what just happened, left my name and number but never got a call back. Coincidently (the rest. mgr) inside asked the table if I had arrived yet, to which my friends said yes but they wont let him in. The manager said oh sorry and proceeded to do nothing. What you lost: My business and the friends that were at my tables future business. What you lose every time this happens: The added meal on the check, the additional tipping due to the large dining bill, the drinks we would've drank afterwards, the tips we would've left etc. We went to downtown Chandler instead and were very pleased with the way The Stillery treated us. I'm no "Rest. Mgr." but if I were (and it seems you should know this) I would let me meatheads at the door know that if anyone is coming for dinner you let them in. Oh, I heard you made the excuse of "fire code" so are you saying that if a table seats 5 but you have only 3 at the table you'll let in an additional 2 persons for the club area? That's fine if you are that on top of it. But I have to imagine patrons just randomly showing up to meet their friends for dinner isn't happening on a regular basis. So when someone says their meeting for dinner, you simply ask what table are they at? Then you let me in and I point to the table (if you're that worried). If the table has reservations then you should know prior how many guests will be there so you can have an accurate occupancy count later, that way I or whomever shows up later is technically already accounted for. If a table has no reservations but shows up, the hostess simply can ask, "how many?" as they always do, when or if they notice there are only 3 of the 5 present, then that can be taken into account for your occupancy level. Then for extra credit the waitress can even notify the meatheads at the door that someone is going to be showing up. This isn't rocket science! read more

Yep. AOK. Drinks were good and the server was sweet and prompt - we were a table of 7 at happy hour. Apps are fine and our fave was the artichoke dip. If, however, you're trying to have a normal conversation here at happy hour, think again. Really loud. There was a good band playing an accoustic set that I really enjoyed, it just wasn't conducive to any lengthy conversation and we had invited someone new to the area. So overall, a fine HH experience - probs just not one you want to have if conversation is an important part of your evening. read more

Honestly, we will never come back here again. Main reason being due to the girl that served myself and my boyfriend. We were playing bags and he ordered a drink from a server. When the server came back with drinks her hands were full. Instead of handing us the drinks first and then handing us our check, she held onto our drinks and she told my boyfriend to grab the checkbook out of her apron, literally sitting on top of her crotch. Obviously, I said she can hand us the drinks and get it out her self instead of ask a man to root around in her apron pocket tied around her hips..... Seriously I am still speechless and baffled at this human. Needless to say it was unprofessional, awkward, and classless. If this is the type of behavior the management if fine with allowing their girls to have, I can't imagine what other stuff goes on. If anything, the girl could have at least asked me (the other female) to grab the check book. Come on. Oh, and lastly, on top off all that inappropriate behavior from her, she got the drink orders incorrect. Will absolutely NOT be returning. Ten thumbs down. read more

I was torn as far as how many stars to rate it. I love the atmosphere and the food is good. After driving for 6 hours we met family here for brunch and went into the patio to hang and listen to music. I was a bit bummed nobody came over to take our drink orders. Several servers walked by and almost seemed to avoid eye contact. I will come back but will come in understanding I may have to walk up to bar and get my drinks. I've been here on Thursday and Saturday night. This place is always happening especially Saturday. Thursday night this place is a traditional country dancing place while on Saturday night all hell breaks loose and it's a full on nightclub. I prefer this bar more than any other ones in the area due it's large size where you can always take a break away from the chaos if you need to unlike in other bars and clubs. It's also in the heart of downtown Gilbert which is a beautiful spot to walk around before and after. I recommend Joes BBQ if you are nearby. I haven't tried the food at Whiskey Row yet so i can't comment on that. Whether to people watch and relax, or to dance the night away, whiskey row is a great option for the evening. read more

Ok......its 110 degrees out, the snowbirds are gone so its safe to grab a meal in old town Gilbert. We stopped in to look around DB's place and ordered a drink. Coors draft and a froo froo drink. We were quickly relieved of 17.00 for our mistake. Check out the displacement of the spherical ice cube in the froo froo drink! Come on Dierks.... Really? The staff were friendly, the place was packed but sorry Dierks....we're out!! Fooled me once! I think we'll leave the crazy expensive Tourist traps to the tourists. See ya! read more

I was really looking forward to eating here but was really disappointed in the food and the service. Our table ordered beers and the restaurant was out of the first 3 types of beers ordered, when they finally found one they liked it took about 10 minutes to get. We ordered the fried pickle appetizer which was good but they weren't fried all of the way through and so the batter was still a little doughy on the inside. It also took quite some time to receive. My kids ordered Mac n cheese off of the kids menu which was really quite good, however it definitely needs to come with some kind of side. We ordered wings off of the appetizer menu which ironically came 10 minutes after everyone else's good arrived. They were mediocre. The service was not good. Our sever seemed more interested in socializing with friends than tending to the amount of tables she had. We had to wait long periods of time in order to ask for what we needed. You can tell there is a lack of teamwork here because it was pretty impossible the even flag down another server to get something and I saw almost every employee check their phones at least once, including the manager. As someone who has worked as a server, bartender and a manager I was really disappointed to see the lack of attention to his guests. He didn't touch any tables. Want to know how I was able to pay attention to all of this stuff? It took an hour and a half from start to finish with waiting for our food as long as we did. 2 stars for the music and the cool atmosphere. That's about it. read more

Met some friends in the area and decided to have drinks and a bite to eat here. Their happy hour was available until 7 PM, so we got to try some drinks and food off their menu. Our server, Alli was quick to attend to us and had the food delivered quickly. The menu is not overwhelming, but a decent selection. i tried their Dierks Marg and it was good. We shared their artichoke dip, sweet chili cauliflower and hummus, which was seasoned and well prepared. For my dinner, I opted to try two of their sliders (blue cheese & bacon and nashville hot chicken). The blue cheese and bacon was good; however, their nashville hot was really good. It had just the right amount of heat and flavor. It was a nice open area for ample seating and music, but it was a bit too loud for good conversation. Can't really hold that against them since this is a club/bar first vs. a formal sit down restaurant. read more

First and foremost, I am rating Dierks the club, not the restaurant. My group decided to get a table because they heard the line was long on the weekends. We arrived at 9pm and the line was from Gilbert all the way to the back of the building. It was not moving. The VIP/table line wasn't really moving either. When we finally got in the table wasn't ready so it took something like 15min to set up. We got a keg for $250 if you're wanting to know prices. The live music is OK. I think the music/acoustics are pretty shit (not necessarily the band). The dance floor is good - about as big as the Tempe location and better than Scottsdale but not as good as a place such as Denims. Every so often the band will stop and they will play recorded music (country line dances and hip-hop) which is welcome for line dances and whatnot. Lots of room to move around. The tables all remained the whole time we were there so there was plenty of seating but it just felt weird. If you've ever attended a country concert think of being in the crowd but you have to bob and weave around a bunch of dinner tables to get back to your friends or get to the dance floor. Just feels weird. I did order the fried pickles and the sweet tater fries. Tater fries came out cold but were still good. The fried pickles were the spear style and I didn't care for it at all. You take one bite and the whole spear comes out of the breading. I MUCH prefer the slices. Dierks as a whole is a mixed bag. Scottsdale location: Not country at all. Dance floor is small and the bathroom line goes through the dance floor. Bouncers are shitbags. Tempe Location: Country earlier in the night. Always seem to have some UFC event going on until 10pm, then it turns into a club. Annoying. Bathroom line also goes through the dance floor. Nevertheless it has the best layout of the three Dierks. Gilbert Location: totally feels like a restaurant that oddly has music playing. Layout is crap - one side is music blaring while on the other side you can't even see the stage (you have to watch it on the TV). Bathroom is not through dance floor. Massive line seemingly all night. If you want a more country experience you're better off going to Denims or going to a concert at Ak-Chin. read more

Update: I decided to give this place another try, wasn't my idea but all my friends wanted to go and I didn't want to be a negative Nancy. I assumed maybe I caught them on a bad night, and appreciated the manager reaching out. However, we had ANOTHER horrible experience with security. Saturday, February 12th, we went to whiskey and were having a really good time! The music was disappointing that night (Paramore after Pushin P, really?) and when the night came to an end I was convinced our first experience was just bad luck. However, running to the bathroom when the lights turned on before making the 40 minute trek home, a security guard popped his head into the women's restroom yelling at us all to "get the f#ck out". First of all, ew for coming into the restroom, and second of all, people have to pee! It's not our fault the DJ/staff didn't give a warning that the bar would be closing soon and everyone would have to immediately leave. Well, as I was walking out there was a large security guard yelling in my friends face also telling her to "get the f#ck out" because she was explaining she didn't want to leave me unattended in a bathroom. The security guard literally towered over her face and stared her down. When I tried to explain to the final security guard on the way out that the staff was out of control and was going to end up getting someone drugged or raped, he told me it's our fault and that everyone gets kicked out at 2 am, and to ALSO "get the f#ck out". This place has so much potential, but I don't feel that it's a safe place for women to visit, at all. read more

Ordered this place for delivery, which I realize isn't always an accurate representation of what you would receive if you ate in person - so that's the reason for the extra star (the food really only deserved 1 star in this case). The food was awful. Really overcooked and dry. The take out packaging is also not ideal for delivery - everything was just clumped together in a flimsy box that definitely doesn't allow the food to stay warm. The fries were completely soggy. The meat was chewy and cold. The vegetables were inedible. Just a really awful experience and total waste of money. I know this place is more of a bar than an eating establishment so I guess what did we expect ordering bar food, but definitely wouldn't try it in person (for food, at least) either. read more
