What better way to celebrate the first day of March than to have some brunch? I did just that yesterday with some friends from cycle class, and I walked away full. I don't know who invented avocado toast, I just know I love it. A nice smear of avocado on some fluffy bread? Yes, please. I also had a nice, cold draft beer, but when my friend's spicy Bloody Mary arrived to the table, I was SUPER jealous! I was mad at myself for having chosen the wrong brunch beverage. A bunch of us from my spin class decided to get together on a Sunday for brunch and here's what I munched: Grande Chicken TInga Nachos ($18 - Shredded chicken tinga, queso, roasted tomato salsa, black beans, pico de gallo, roasted jalapeño, cilantro lime crema): Okay, maybe I don't recommend the nachos. While topped with a good amount of cheese on top, once congealed, any chip on the bottom that you pull out is just going to be a naked chip. They do top these chips off with a generous amount of toppings. Brunch Burger ($19 - Angus beef patty, sunny side egg, avocado, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, sriracha aioli, hash brown patty, brioche bun, choice of fresh fruit or breakfast potatoes): I shared this burger and requested the kitchen to cut it for me which they did. Very thankful that they were okay with the request. The burger itself was decent. It was a little weird to eat as the tiny hash brown patty made the structural integrity funny but it's not a deal breaker. I will say that it needed more sauce or something. The burger was dry after a few bites. I also had my lunch with the most savory and spicy Bloody Mary. It was amazing and probably one of my favorite Bloody Marys in a long while. I came here for an early dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday and the Porch definitely has room for improvements. My friend made a reservation for our big group well in advance and we had 4 tables for the group, but there was only one waitress. Not surprisingly, the service was extremely slow the entire time. I got the Southwest steak salad and it was just so-so. Another friend got a bowl with chicken and the chicken wasn't even fully cooked. The restaurant itself is fun with the swing chairs, giant connect four game, and photo booth inside. I wouldn't come back here though given the service and food. read more

(2.5) I hate giving low reviews, but food safety is a non-negotiable criteria, and unfortunately there was a serious issue with it here on this visit. I'd made a reservation for 20 people on a Saturday around 430, a week and a half in advance and the people who helped me with that were great, and I even received text updates regarding the reservation which was very helpful and reassuring. Parking is available in the nearby garage or lot, as well as street parking. We were seated outside on the front patio which was really cool with porch games, swing set seats, TVs and just an awesome vibe. I really appreciated the ample space they provided for my party. Lots of room to walk around and socialize. The Porch also had some games inside and a cool Photo Booth. A really big bar area in the middle and lots of seating inside. Our server was great, I think her name was Milan? Although it seemed busy and I wondered if she could have used a second person to help since our group was pretty large. But I told her we were on a time limit and she was very understanding. The Porch offers A LOT of fun drinks and food on their menu, including this super cute Asian inspired cocktail called Big Trouble in Little Shanghai. I decided to order it and did enjoy how balanced and flavorful it was. I also ordered the poke bowl and really liked that too. I would say the rest of my friends there were split 50/50 about whether they liked the food, but the hot shot burger was popular as well as the different bowl options. The biggest problem I had was with one of my friend's dishes she'd ordered. She had really great things to say about this restaurant, as her and her partner frequently visit the Tempe location. She decided to order the border bowl with chicken. We did have a large party, but the food came out within 20-30 minutes of ordering which was great. Except for my friend who ordered the chicken border bowl. She was the last to be served and probably waited 40 minutes. She took one bite of the food with a piece of the chicken and thought it tasted a bit rubbery. She then noticed a few pink ish/ not fully cooked pieces in her bowl. This was unfortunate and annoying since we were in a time crunch and she was the last one to be served. So not enough time to re make it. I was told by someone that the food would be taken off the receipt. But when we saw the receipt, they had only removed the cost of chicken, not the entire bowl itself... I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen with that bowl, but hopefully it was just an accident? Maybe they were short staffed on this busy Saturday evening? Other than the chicken issue, the experience was good. But undercooked food is a big one for me. Despite that, I would probably visit a different location. We ordered the Rachel versus Ruben with coleslaw. The turkey had a funky smell/taste. I could barely eat half before throwing in the napkin. We ordered a Pickleback burger, too. It also was not good. Dry and flavors just didn't work. Our daughter had a bowl with broccoli and rice. She ate most of it so that was a bonus. The ambiance was fine, we actually sat in the swing outside which was nice but it took at least 45 minutes to get our food. I didn't know The Porch was more than just a late night party bar, but they're a fantastic restaurant as well! I got the margarita and it was good, but the cougar magnet drink wasn't my favorite. Mostly alcohol forward, not much flavor to it in my opinion. I was a little disappointed that the jalapeno poppers (ordered before our dinner items) didn't come out until our food was served, but it gets busy so no biggie. They were absolutely fantastic and my favorite food of the night. Very soicy, but with jalapenos, it just depends on the batch you get, but I liked that. The Hotshot burger was a fun experience with the syringe of hot honey, not super unique in flavor, but still very tasty. Same goes for the Porch pasta. It's pretty much a Mac and cheese style dish, wish there was a bit more Cajun zing to it but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was still licking up the bowl regardless lol. The garlic bread needed more to t though as it mostly just felt like a toasted bun. Although I sound critical, for bar food they're killing it. I would definitely eat here again and look forward to trying some more of their menu! read more

Great atmosphere and ambiance -- a place you want to like. The drink and food options are solid, and it's a nice spot to sit and have a drink. Unfortunately, the service and food execution held the experience back. Service timing was very inconsistent. After some back and forth, we waited close to 30 minutes just to get our check and eventually had to ask another server, who also couldn't find ours but kindly brought the bill. The food seemed like it could be good, but everything came out cold, making it hard to fully judge. We could visibly see multiple entrees sitting on the kitchen shelf for an extended time, which explained the temperature issue. We ordered the crab rangoon dip without sweet chili oil/sauce, only to be told after it arrived that the chili is mixed in and can't be removed. I can't eat chilis, so the dish was taken off our check, which we appreciated. However, there is no chili indicator on the paper menu -- if an item can't be modified, that should be clearly marked and communicated. We also ordered a burger and mac & cheese, but didn't finish either due to how cold they were. At that point, we didn't want to wait longer for replacements or risk more food waste. And honestly -- cold mac & cheese with no cheese pull is a bummer. read more

We came here on vacation looking for a fun place to watch football & eat some food. We were overall impressed with the aesthetic. There was plenty of open seating, along with connect four, Jenga, as well as some fun seating with swings and such. I rarely ever rate a restaurant under 3 stars even because of slow service, but after waiting over 3 hours for food - and ending up leaving due to having a kid with us I am extremely disappointed. We ended up leaving and just paying for the drinks without the food. The waitstaff nor manager even offered apologies or to comp the drinks that were on the meal. We asked the manager to update us on the food and the server came and dropped the bill on the table without saying anything. I have never had a restaurant bring a bill out before even getting our food. I have worked in the food industry for most of my life & wow, the customer service was truly so poor. I would not recommend / come back due to the service alone which is very unfortunate. This restaurant has so much potential to be such a fun spot to eat / watch games / hangout but missed the mark. read more

This is one of the rare times where I actually regretted eating the meal at a restaurant. It wasn't just OK, it was absolutely disgusting. The burger was supposed to be a Thick Cut burger. It was 0.25 inches thin. The bread was completely soggy by the time I was halfway through the meal. The beef has exactly Zero taste. I couldn't taste anything. I asked for medium well and it came out pink inside. I just don't understand how they screwed up a burger at an American restaurant. This should be their signature item. Truffle fries had no truffle, obviously, and not even the slightest truffle flavor. Way too salty, and greasy. For $15, I could just go to Inn N Out and get 3 Doubles burgers, or 2 double burgers from Culver's, both of which are MUCH better and at a fraction of the price. It's sad that I'm comparing a unique restaurant with fast food joints, and that the fast food is higher quality. Worse of all, it took 45 minutes to get the food. I'm starting to wonder if they deliberately make the food delayed so that we are too hungry to bother sending it back for a replacement. You'll notice most of the reviews are about the drinks, appetizers, and watching games on TV. This is just a venue for serving junk food while trying to keep you entertained and rake in a profit. Also notice how the manager responds to negative reviews with an "oh well, too bad, stuff happens" kind of attitude. Final note: It wasn't just me. Out of our group of 5 people, 3 people (including myself) thought the food was awful. One person had a chicken sandwich, the other had a rice and avocado bowl. They both said the food was terrible and would never come back. This is coming from 3 "foodies" who know and appreciate high quality, delicious food. Avoid at all costs! read more

Staff - 5/5 - Funny, friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the small talk. Food/Drink - I wasn't able to order too much, but ordered the following: Jumbo Pretzel - 4/5 - $10 - Huge pretzel with mustard and Modelo beer cheese. Lemon Caesar - 5/5 - $12 - I wanted to try something "light", so went with this salad. I am glad that I did, because the lemon caesar dressing on it is really really good. Because I was moving around, I just grabbed a couple of beers, but the prices were great due to happy hour. Trivia night on Wednesday 7-8:30 p.m. met up with my fellow Yelper Ashley T. She is a regular for trivia & was showing my friend & I the ropes. Before the trivia started we picked a group name. Then they go over the rules: no cheating using only one phone or you could be disqualified. There was someone walking around monitoring everyone. Our server was Sally. She took our drink orders which was waters & Dr. Peppers. I ordered a Root Beer but it tasted watered down so I got a Dr. Pepper. I ordered the original bone in wings. They were perfect with lots of sauce, carrots, and Celery. Also came with a side of ranch. My friend Kaisy got the chips, salsa, & guac. which was sharing size. Ashley got a salmon Salad that looked delicious & she said, "it was great!" We didn't do so well at Trivia but had a fun! I'll definitely be back to try it out again! Wings: $16 + Soda: $5./unlimited refills=$22.64 Bathrooms are behind the building. Always go with a friend as it's by the back parking lot and can look scary at night. The Porch is a place themed around modern creations that evoke the classic nostalgic style from both the past and present. The menu offers unique pub style dishes with so many options. Ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich which comes with slaw, pickles, green apples and nashville hot sauce on a brioche bun. FYI-Its got a kick cause they use a ghost pepper sauce. So, if you like heat, this is the sandwich for you! IMO- the nice balance with that flare was the crisp tart texture of the green apple slices. We also had the BBQ Burger, which features an angus patty (medium) and comes with cheddar, applewood smoked bacon, bbq sauce & crispy onion rings! BOTH were delicious and the side of fries we chose were truffle parm! They were a wonderful addition to the burgers. Amazing fries! We sat at the bar. It's a spacious sports bar with a huge focus centered around a selection of craft beers, fine wines, and signature cocktails. The bartending staff was incredible friendly, super engaging & very professional. We enjoyed our experience and the hospitality. Will be back, as it's a great neighborhood spot to grab a drink, relax, enjoy some fantastic food and watch some sports too! There are 3 locations currently in the valley and soon to open two more locations. One in Flagstaff and the other in Tucson. The Porch has Happy Hour 3-6:00 PM Mon-Fri. *Note- This place turns into a night club after 10 PM and the kitchen closes prior. Night & Day are very different here. In the evenings it turns into a full on niterie environment. Weekends are crazy busy! Again; After 10 PM the music becomes the heart of the club. Zero Stars for Service and Management Our visit on 2/21/26 was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Despite arriving at 5:30 PM and patiently waiting an hour to be seated, the service was downhill from there. The manager, Heather, was incredibly unprofessional. When we requested an available table outside, she ignored us and walked away. She only relocated us after a second request, visibly showing her irritation. Once seated, it took an hour to take our order and another hour for food to arrive--even then, several meals were missing. After three hours at the restaurant, we asked Heather for an explanation. She blamed a new cook and the size of our party (14 people). When we expressed our disappointment, she told us, "I should have never sat you." This level of hostility is unacceptable. While she removed two drinks from the bill, it didn't make up for the blatant lack of hospitality. As a local with deep ties to the Gilbert business community, I will not be recommending this establishment. read more

Had lunch here with a group of ladies on 3/4/25. Servers were very friendly & attentive. Most of us had & really enjoyed The Lanai Chicken Sandwich (both grilled & fried). One had & enjoyed the Porch Burger in a lettuce wrap with crispy sweet potato fries. One had the Homemade Chicken Tortilla Soup. Originally it came in a huge bowl with the broth in a separate small pitcher. Unfortunately, friend felt it was lukewarm - think due to way served. When told server, they had to totally remake it because they don't have a microwave. 2nd bowl came out steaming with broth in it. Friend said it was delicious but such a large portion that she took about half home. Sorry I didn't take more pictures. For dessert, 3 ladies split & enjoyed Grannys Skillet Apple Pie $11. (See pic). 4 in 1 birthday dinner celebration tonight!! We had a large group of 13 people. My friend made reservations over a week ago and good thing she did because it was super packed due to the UFC fight. We didn't wait too long for our table though. I think it was about 10 mins or so. Whitley was our server and she did a great job! She brought us all waters and got all of our drink/food orders in pretty quickly. The bar took a while to make our drinks. Food took a while too. Coulda been the fact that 2 people ordered appetizers so maybe they were waiting on everyone to finish the majority of that first. I've been here plenty of times but usually just to drink. This time, I actually tried the food. I ordered the French Dip burger and Captain Coconuts drink (basically a piña colada but not blended). Drink was good and my burger was actually not bad! It had really good flavor! I really like the addition of the horseradish. Dipped it in the au jus sauce it came with and it was perfect! I got it with a side salad that came with a side of ranch. Went here for lunch and it was so modern and open. They have high ceilings and an open patio. Some of the tables even had swinging a which is super cute! Also there were a lot of TVs there and a huge bar so perfect if you want to watch sports. I personally got the Reuben sandwich and truffle fries which were some of the best I have ever had! This review is for The Porch, the nightclub. And to start this review I want to say I actually had no idea that the Porch was a nightclub at night. We closed out OHSO at midnight and headed out towards the parking lot. Whiskey Row was still going strong but not my groups vibe (also insanely loud that night) so we didn't go there. Then, across the street, the Porch had people going in. So we rolled in. The DJ of the night was literally all over the place. Taylor Swift followed by Avicii followed by Big E followed by Deftones. Sometimes the song was 15 seconds other times the song was the full song. A little hard to get a pulse on so it turned into amusement itself of "what comes next?" The bar was quick. And I liked that they had a water jug for you to just serve yourself water and not have to waste the bartebders' times. Being there past midnight kind of drew in a wild and a bit ratchet crowd - so people watching was also on the menu that night. In all, not bad. Different. I've ate at the Tempe Porch and it was good food there and id assume it is good here too during normal non-club business hours. read more
