I came in sometime last week for the second time ever and was very surprised by my visit. The first time I came in I was really disappointed by the food and overall experience but I tried to give it a second chance. I'm glad I did because our server Sky made it one of the best experiences! She helped me pick which entrees were the best and was so personable we had a really great conversation. I've been here during the day for appetizers at lunch... and I've been here on a Saturday night, where we have had table service. So it's interesting, during a day this is very much a restaurant bar... while at night it's more of a club/bar. Which is great depending on what you're looking for... me? I'm more of a bar guy, than a club guy as I love a good conversation, good food, good drinks, and lots of laughs. Bars = not great for conversation... but great for getting up on the dance floor! This place is great because it's close... and if you live in the east valley, you don't have to drive to Tempe or to Scottsdale. Food - Serviceable food... I've only had appetizers for sort of a tapas style lunch and it was fine, nothing that stood out. Service - Good service and it seems like they emphasize a pretty and capable wait staff... very attentive with regards to drinks and food. Price - The pricing was what you would expect for a place in downtown Gilbert these days... fair value here. The three stars is really with regards to personal preference... again being a bar guy vs a club guy... this isn't a place I would necessarily go but if you are looking for a place to dance and have some fun - this place is worth considering. read more

I've only been here once, but compared to the one in Old Town its way better! So much more room to dance if you're into that. The crowd is a lot more respectful and it was an enjoyable place to meet up with friends. Thursday night seems to be the best night for dancing. read more

My first visit a few months ago to Whisky Row was great when we had VIP seating for a wedding reception. I visited again 2 Sunday's ago and this place barely had anyone in there and not enough staff. It took us 20 minutes to order a drink (which 2 out of 6 drinks for our table were incorrect) and then the server let us know she was leaving and we would have to go to the bar if we wanted any other drinks. I am changing my review to 4 stars because the manager contacted me right away about the issue and was concerned about my last visit. I really appreciate how prompt he was to get back to me and want to know more details so they could correct the problem. read more

Terrible service. Potentially racist. I came for dinner on Wednesday with my boyfriend (both POC)- they were having a special for teachers and as a teacher I was very excited and grateful for this opportunity. Security outside was very kind however from the moment I sat down I did not feel welcome. I noticed there were many waiters and waitresses working that night but they never stopped by to offer water or menus. I watched them serve other people food, take their orders, even stop by to have friendly conversation with surrounding tables but my boyfriend and I were never approached. Over 20 minutes later I was desperate to flag someone down and tried to make eye contact with any of the staff. Finally, i flag down a waiter. He brought menus over and offered to bring us some water but when he came back he had no water and informed us that the kitchen was closed. He explained that the kitchen had to close early due to the rush from before and they were nearly sold out. I couldn't understand how a kitchen could be emptied of food, especially on a night when an increase in diners was expected. It was the cherry on top to this experience. However that is another issue. I believe the people working that night were racist because it took over 20 minutes for us to be acknowledged and even then we weren't approached, I had to flag someone down. All of the surrounding tables were well taken care of so if I was someone different, it is possible my yelp review would have been positive instead. I had such high hopes for this place as I love whiskey, country music, and Dierks Bentley. However, after dining here I have to say it was the worst place I have ever eaten at. Over priced, doesn't even have whiskeys besides Jack Daniels, and food tasted and felt like it was microwaved/cheap carnival food. My disappointment is immeasurable and I will never be going back will never recommend to anyone. Dierks please do better. The service was very nice so at least there was that. read more

We arrived 6:00 Saturday night and quoted hour and half for a table of 4. Went to the bar and my husband ordered a Fat Tire draft to learn they are out of it. Really? I ordered a Lienenkugle grapefruit shandy. Bartender handed me a really short pour and said the keg was out and come back to get "topped off" Learned later that he charged me for two beers. Geez Nice to see they have such a big draft beer selection... but do they? ******** The live music was REALLY GREAT *********** Finally seated for dinner and the first thing our waitress tells us is we have two hours max at our table and started pressuring us to order ASAP. She seemed annoyed when we ordered appetizers. She came back TWO times to ask for our dinner order before the appetizers were even served! Fast forward to dinner... I had a steak salad. My medium cooked meet was so chewy and fatty that I couldn't eat it. I had to put the first three bites in my napkin before I gave up. Two at our table liked the fish and chips and one liked his patty melt. Fries were soggy. Our blond female server (Kelsey??) was rude and made us feel unwelcome. The staff always treats us with great service. We are regulars since the place opened. The GM, bartenders and staff recognize us and greet us with a warm welcome all the time. We feel valued and respected. The entertainers line is great and the music played is wonderful. A good place to go to on the east side of the City. read more

Where to begin?... We've been to Dierks on a number of occasions, always enjoying ourselves. Last night we brought some out of town guests (church pastors) for dinner and to say it was a bad experience would be a gross understatement... The food was ok and not part of my review. My complaint is all about the staff. Specifically our server, and the people tending bar. I'll begin with our server: if remembering a very simple drink order (2 bud lights, 1 coors light and a vodka tonic) is too much, perhaps write it down. If the place was busy, I'd understand but the place was pretty empty. Secondly, she couldn't remember in the short amount of time she was gone, who ordered what... ridiculous. When the food arrived, one of our guests asked for a side of blue cheese, so the server went to grab it, and when she returned with it she took the cup of dressing off the plate she brought it out on, handed the cup of dressing to the other guest, then picked up her dinner plate and slid the plate under it. Why not take that plate back with you rather than stacking plates on top of each other?... she was pretty much non-existent for most of the night. Walking by after drinks were gone, leaving us waiting with empty glasses. After our meal was finished, all of our plates sat on our table while we hung out, until I finally moved all of the dirty dishes to a different table. Where they remained until after we left. When I asked for the bill, she left to get it, then came back to ask us how many drinks we had (odd... shouldn't she know we each had 3 drinks?). She left again, came back with separate tabs (something I didn't ask for as we planned to buy our friends dinner), handed me one bill, and the other bill to the other guy at the table. Problem is, she put my wife's meal on my friends tab, but her drinks on my tab... so now what was intended to be my wife and I treating our friends to dinner, turned into our friends coming into town and buying my wife dinner. Ok, on to the bartenders... isn't your job as a bartender to keep an eye on people to ensure they don't get inebriated? We were seated right behind a group of overly loud, very drunk patrons (shout-out, by the way, to the person who sat us at a table right behind this group when the restaurant was mostly empty). 2 patrons in particular, went from bitching at each other, to making up, to making out (I'm talking him with his hand halfway up her shirt, kissing and sucking on her neck and upper chest, etc.), to fighting again... I know at least one of the bartenders saw this, as she and I made eye contact right after she looked at them making out... and right before she served them yet another shot. The behavior of that couple (and their loud, obnoxious, drunk friends, one of whom left the bar and then returned with an unleashed dog, that he picked up and basically set on the bar so the bartenders could pet it) was appalling, but what was equally appalling was the fact that the bartenders watched this and did nothing to stop it. This wasn't midnight on a Saturday, when at least it would only be adults witnessing this, we were in the restaurant from 6 to 8:30 pm on a Sunday evening (8/25). We will never return to this place. read more

We didn't know brunch was a thing at Whiskey Row but happened to arrive during it on our first trip to the Gilbert location. This location is HUGE (at LEAST two times the size of the Old Town Scottsdale location). The atmosphere is fun and the service is good. There was a live band during brunch on Sunday, which we enjoyed. I had a salad and my hubs had a burger. The kale & quinoa salad was very good and came with a lot of chicken for the $3 or $4 upcharge. Their version of a BBQ burger was good, but not craveable. The onion rings and grilled chicken wings were delicious, as were our brunch cocktails and beers. My only complaint is the preteens playing "beer" pong in the game area. I'm sure it was just water in the pong cups, but we found the idea of 12 - 13 year old kids practicing beer pong openly a little disturbing. Their parents were right there watching them, so I guess there's really nothing Whiskey Row can do about it, butttt how kid friendly is too friendly when it comes to kids in bars? read more

Came here on a late Sunday morning, thought it might be a little busy being brunch hours. It was maybe 55-65% full so I walked in to meet my friends thinking it wouldn't be a terribly long wait and we could have a nice meal. We ended up waiting for over 25 minutes before even being asked about drinks, and another 30 minutes after being fed up with waitresses constantly walking by and standing around, we had to flag someone down to take our orders. It seems like they didn't even care about our money we had to spend or our experience here. I really haven't felt so unwelcome in a while at any restaurant in downtown Gilbert. Hope they can fix the atmosphere, can't see myself returning here, overpriced for shitty service. read more

Not a place for food! Extremely small selection of choices. Quality was mediocre. Cooking was overdone. Hard to believe this will survive on being a "night club" only at night. Eventually the lack of return customers for food will shut them down if not for all the profit on the overpriced alcohol served to the on lookers. I've never seen so many non-country wannabes. This place is like Jekyll and Hyde daytime to night. I guess the traditional songs of trucks, lost dog, ex-wife's and boots needs to include a verse about getting indigestion from fake county bars. read more

Perfect onion rings. I would come back just for those. Came here for lunch, the ambiance is nice with a good breeze! Other than the onion rings food wasn't that great and I don't drink. Buffalo cauliflower was not very crispy and kale salad was meh. My mom had a burger and didn't care for it much. And our waitress Sadie had a really snotty attitude, didn't smile once, and she got a couple things wrong on our orders. There was hardly anyone there when we came in. She knew we were gonna get a dessert and when it came time she told us if we wanted the brownie sunday they have to make the brownies first lol. But that's what she offered before hand....So if you want the brownie know that they apparently have to make it from scratch and bake it when you order it bahahaha which is nice but who's got 20/30 mins to wait at the end of a meal for a brownie? Sadly, I never got to experience all the bad reviews mentioned here. My brother and his girlfriend took me there after we had a sad day visiting a sick relative. I was turned away at the door for wearing an expensive looking Yankees jersey. Very odd! According to the guy at the door, the owner doesn't like the Yankees. I was shocked and asked the guy, "really, can I speak with the owner?" I was told, "No." So, we found a more inclusive, less expensive place down the road that was happy to take our good money. I realize the guy could have been lying about the owner, but, he or she hired these people to represent the place. Basically, the formal wear in this over priced exclusive club is limited to jeans and a t-shirt, but no teams the owner doesn't care for. Investors should definitely avoid this franchise, if they wish to make money. Customers should go anywhere else for the value and inclusiveness. read more

Came here on Easter Sunday. Place was not very full. Hostess was yacking with other bored staff. Got a table and watched the people next to us walk out without ordering. Waited 10 minutes for service. Walked up to hostess and asked if we could get waited on. She smiled, said yes, and turned back to her friends. We waited another 5 minutes, received no help. As we walked out, I told the hostess how disappointed I was that we couldn't get waited on. She and her friends smiled and said "Have a nice day." Excellent service, amazing food, and great atmosphere. My only complaint is they ran out of the peanut butter milk stout and vanilla stout flavors (which is rather odd at 5:30p) but the chocolate stout the waitress recommended was amazing so if nothing else it gives me an excuse to go back. The night continued and they kicked our friends out for no reason and didn't even look into the situation. No compensation for the tickets that were purchased for the concert that night. Staff was friendly and unlike a lot of reviews I read, the service was very good ... especially for how busy they were. We had drinks, watched a football game, enjoyed a little bit of the band and ate. The food was ok. I wouldn't say it was the highlight of the night by any means because none of us were overly impressed. It definitely was not bad. I would go again and try other dishes. I shared the half chicken with my friend with a side salad. Salad was just some greens with balsamic. Chicken was very tender, but not seasoned well. Another friend had the fish and chips. I tried the fish and it was really good... but there were only two strips of fish... not enough to get full on. Another had the pork chop. He said it was just ok. The food is less than what I would expect form a establishment calling itself a gastropub. The chicken I had was over cooked and less than seasoned. The "rib eye" my companion had was not even the right cut of meat advertised. He received a sirloin cut. Overall, the service was fine, but the kitchen needs much work. The music was good, the food was disappointing. And the girls blowing whistles and carrying signs every 10-15 min around the dining area are very annoying and disruptive. read more
