Unfortunately overall experience here wasn't good for me. I don't want to write a long negative review so it's a long story but I will make it short. I wasn't happy with.... ・Their diagnose were all wrong (YawABS moduleBattery) ・It took a long time and they didn't know what's wrong ・Very pricy ( Their diagnose was wrong but charged us more than $200. Even though they did NOT find out what was wrong, after my bf found it and solved the problem, they replaced the hose from intake manifold , reset Yaw sensor and charged more than $800) * It was uncomfortable that they charged my radio station. Now my car is back and runs. I appreciate it about that. I just wish they could charge us decent price. It's very difficult to find a good service place, you don't know if it's good or not until you try, and I don't want anyone to have a similar experience to mine so I decided to share my review. read more

I took my Volvo to Dieter's back in 2021 for a few different issues I was having. It seemed similarly priced to the dealership, however, there were a few issues that just weren't resolved (after going back, and getting billed again for diagnostics, even though the issues weren't fixed the first time.) I believe it is now under new ownership, and I worked with Joel on about 6 different warning errors that were showing up on my car. I took it in without reading the recent reviews, and when I had to leave the car overnight, and ended up reading the recent reviews, I was concerned. Joel was able to fix the issues that the old staff couldn't, and there were a few things that he said "If you don't use them, and the warning light doesn't bother you, you don't need to have them done." And, price wise, it was far less than the dealership. Joel's communication, and the system he used to get approval for the different recommended fixes were super professional, and easy to use. I found him very reasonable, knowledgable, and got my car back in great working condition. There are a lot of negative reviews for the new ownership, but I was extremely happy with the entire transaction, and would recommend this place to anyone with a Volvo. I really appreciate Joel getting my car back to working the way I expect it to. read more

THEY KNOWINGLY SOLD ME A LEMON AND I WILL BE TAKING THEM TO COURT. I checked out an Audi at their lot. I liked the car but noticed an oil leak, so I asked them to fix it before purchasing. They messaged me a few days later saying they fixed it. When I went back to purchase the vehicle, I didn't notice any leaks so I bought it. I drove home and the battery died. When I jumped it, the car warned me saying there's no oil in the car. Rather than fixing the car, Dieters Motors drained the oil out of the vehicle to prevent it from leaking before selling it to me to make it appear like it was fixed and reset the ECU so the warning wouldn't come on until I got home. I brought it to an Audi dealership for service. Turns out the valve cover gasket and timing chain need to be serviced, totaling a $6500 bill. This is NOT including a broken front axle, coolant leak, damaged control arms, and engine mounts. I asked the owner, Chris, if he'd be willing to keep this between us but he stopped communications with me. My only option now is to take them to court to recoup what I can and do everything in my power to inform all future customers on how shady these guys are before choosing them. To the owner, Chris, you have my number. Respond to my texts/calls to make this right and I'll happily delete the reviews on this and all other sites and retract the civil suit. read more

Yelp should really reset the reviews when the company is sold. All the 5 stars were for the previous German owner. After the shop was taken over the customer service was terrible and they charge way too much. The new owners who took over during covid have brought the quality of the business down ever since. read more

I brought my car into Dieter motors on Sept 11th 2023 and picked it up today which is Dec 7th. Almost 3 months .It has been the most frustrating experience for many reasons. One was due to the RUDE woman named Erica who runs the front office and doesn't seem to know anything and is full of excuses and dances around every question. They admitted that they didn't know how to fix my car yet they were trying to charge me $5300 to get my car back in the original condition that I brought it in. I filed a small claims lawsuit against them and contacted BAR (the Bureau of automotive repair) and reported them. After the investigator, read the report and contacted Dieter motors they were willing to put the original parts back on my car and give it back to me at no charge. I asked twice for a loaner car and the first told me that there was none available the second time I asked, they said I needed to pay 3/4 of my bill in order to talk about a loaner car. She proceeded to tell me that I needed to pay half of my bill in order for them to continue to work on my car. Clearly they did not know how to fix the car and I was not about to pay for nothing. Today I went to pick up my car. I called AAA to have it towed to the BMW dealership. The owner gladly gave us the keys at no charge and told us he was sorry for any inconvenience that the three months without a car caused me. I took a moment to let the owner know because he's not around much and I quote "you have a dumpster fire and a shit show for a business. Here you know," and he looked at me and put his head down and said "I know". **If that doesn't tell you what kind of business it is, I don't know what does....** If there was an option to give no stars which there's not, I would give them -5 stars but this app makes me give a star that's why there's one. read more

My Porsche Carrera needed new front brakes, the original brakes had lasted about 50k miles and I got the warning on my dashboard saying time to replace them. Dieter's is THE BEST! They not only have great prices but they are trustworthy and reliable! Wendy the Receptionist is supper nice and friendly and very good at communicating. She even sent me pictures to show me how worn out things were in my car such as my spark plugs. My family has been going to Dieter's for almost 10 years and they really are the best mechanic in Ventura County, especially for BMW & Mercedes. This is the best shop ever! I'm only sad I cannot give them more stars. My car broke down traveling to Orange County at 3 in the afternoon. I called my OC mechanic and his parts people said we should go to Dieter's. Best recommendation ever! They had the part delivered and what they thought was going to be a 45 minute fix turned out to be a 3 hour fix. They stayed late on this hot day and had me on the road by 6:30pm. I was able to get home and save my dog from being stuck in the house overnight. My car is running beautifully! This type of customer service is not often seen these days. Just had a miserable experience here. Previously did business for years with Dieter's but the new owners completely screwed up with my car over the last couple of days. Almost $1000 later the car was in worse shape than when I put it in for repairs. Currently is sitting in my garage with the light on that says do not drive that was not on when I took it to get repairs. Please do not take your car to the new owners of this business as they failed to complete repairs and they lied to me about what was going on. I liked it better when I had a good mechanic. I've been to this shop twice. The owner seemed OK but his sister who manages the shop is a very strange woman. The second time I was there all I needed was one spark plug but Linda advised the owner to recommend I change all 6 spark plus plus a coil. Repair was $350 which should have been much less. I recently called for another simple job of changing a light brake switch ($20 part) and 15 minutes labor and because they knew they could not over charge again Linda declined to perform work. I would say that it's a shame. read more

Lothar the head mechanic is great. Has a bit of an accent, but does great work and doesn't try to sell you on stuff that doesnt need fixing. Hard to find a mechanic to trust and I trust him. They don't have loaner cars to make things convenient and the location is sketchy, but everything else is excellent. read more
