I recently had my vehicle at Oxnard Mazda for a repair inspection, and I was disappointed with how the situation was handled by my service advisor, Chase, who I was told is also the manager. The repair involved another dealership that was responsible for payment, but Oxnard Mazda would not accept payment directly from them and required the check to be issued to me first. Because of that, there was a short delay while waiting for the check so I could pay Mazda. I explained this ahead of time and gave them the exact day the car would be picked up. Once the repair was finished, Chase said the car could not stay there and mentioned storage fees, even though this was never discussed before and the delay was due to the payment process Mazda required. Because of this, I had to rush to get help from family to pay sooner than planned, even while I am currently recovering from gallbladder surgery, which also made handling the situation more difficult. I was also told there was no space to keep the vehicle, while the back lot appeared to be full of employee cars rather than customer vehicles waiting for pickup. The situation could have been handled with much better communication and customer service. read more

After finding the exact car/model (through a cars.com search) that I wanted at Oxnard Mazda, I requested the e-price from their internet site. I pretty promptly heard from Freddie who equally promptly returned with an out the door price that beat any other price for the same make/model in a 250 mile radius. I was concerned with such a great price, something else would get compromised---not the case. We coordinated on a time to come down to test drive the car and complete the purchase. The only misstep in the whole process was that the agreed upon day I planned to come ended up being a day off for Freddie--which I did not know until I drove 2+ hours to get to the dealership. But another sales associate (Oscar) took over and worked with me on the actual purchase. He quickly addressed the assessment of my trade in and gave me a price I was quite happy with (and was robust enough I was able to pay cash for the remaining portion of the car price). I was in and out in just a couple of hours. There were no hard pressure tactics to buy anything extra by Oscar or the finance guy (who handled the purchase agreement signatures). The staff detailed my beautiful new ride while we completed the purchase process. I had a deeply disappointing experience at this dealership. After test-driving a vehicle, I received written confirmation from dealership staff that a specific car (including VIN and price) would be available for purchase at a scheduled appointment. My husband and I made the drive from Santa Barbara--no small task while I was 6 months pregnant--and arrived with a cashier's check ready to pay in full. After making us wait approximately 45 minutes, we were told the car had already been "sold days earlier." That alone would be concerning, but it gets worse: shortly afterward, we found the exact same vehicle (same VIN) listed for sale at another dealership, directly contradicting what we were told. While we were there, we were steered toward other vehicles, and pricing on cars we had previously seen online changed, with discounts removed. We escalated the issue through the dealership, their legal counsel, and Mazda North American Operations. After weeks of follow-up, the final outcome was that no one would complete the transaction, and no meaningful effort or goodwill was offered to resolve the situation. The written confirmation we relied on meant nothing, the explanations did not match reality, and no one took responsibility. Very disappointing experience at Oxnard Mazda. I went to see a red Ford F-150 and dealt with Tim Green and Amauri Aguilar. During the test drive I felt a strong vibration and rough shifting. When I asked about it, they claimed it was just "turbo lag," which clearly did not match what I was feeling. When I asked to take the truck to my own mechanic for a quick inspection, they initially refused and kept insisting that they are a big dealership with a good reputation and that the truck could be sold to someone else if I didn't buy it right away. They also tried to push me to purchase an extra warranty instead of simply allowing an independent inspection. After a lot of back and forth, they finally allowed me to take the truck to my mechanic. A trustworthy dealership should never have an issue with a customer getting a vehicle inspected. The whole experience felt misleading and ended up wasting my entire day. Buyers should be very careful and always insist on an independent inspection before purchasing any vehicle. read more

I had the pleasure of purchasing a new 2025 CX-50 Hybrid in the Preferred trim level yesterday after returning the leased 2024 CX-90 I leased from Oxnard Mazda the previous year. The sales manager I worked with, George A., was very friendly, straightforward to negotiate with, and knowledgeable about the programs. George's sales person Marcus helped me select the CX-50 I was interested in, made sure it had all the features on my must have's list, and explained some of the key differences between the CX-90 lease I was returning and the CX-50 I ultimately purchased. After agreeing to a deal, the finance manager Richard explained all of my options available to protect the new CX-50 based on the number of miles I drive and the length of time I plan to keep this new purchase. I was pleased that the options I selected, the pre-paid maintenance, g.a.p. loan protection, and the extended service agreement, were explained thoroughly so that I understood the cost to benefit ratio to make a selection that most benefited my use of this vehicle. After all the paperwork was signed, Marcus had the new CX-50 cleaned, fueled, and immediately started pairing the Mazda app to my new Mazda so I didn't have to mess with it later. George came over to congratulate me and thank me for my business. The whole experience was excellent and really reflects the culture of professionalism instilled by George as the sales manager. Now that it's a day later, I can say my after sale experience has been just as great as my purchase experience. Both Marcus and George have followed up with me to help me learn some of the new features of this car. If they hadn't appraised the car in person why would they give me numbers in paper not just verbally. General Manager is either getting fed bogus information or don't want to know the truth about what happened. You should get the facts right before reaching out about the entire ordeal that happened that day. There is two sides in the story and you're getting fed the incorrect information. I came in regarding an oil leak issue on my vehicle, which I purchased a warranty for -- expecting some level of support and professionalism. Not only was he dismissive of my concerns, but he also flat-out told me that he had "no way to pull up any of the documents" related to my warranty. The way I was treated felt more like a burden than a valued customer. I left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and with no resolution whatsoever. No remorse from anyone. 1. Agreed on price for both trade in and new vehicle via text (I have proof). 2. Set an appointment time for next day at 7:30pm because I coach my kids soccer 3. Next day, Let them know 3:30pm day of that I canceled soccer practice for my kids (I'm the coach) and that I'd arrive earlier to do the deal than my appointment time. They agreed again via text. 4. Get there with husband, baby, and two older boys. All excited as can be to try out new car we agreed on pricing for. 5. Boys all hop in car and I ask sales person "everyone is okay with the price and trade in value we agreed on" and he says "yes" 6. Husband puts car seat in car to be sure it fits and kids all in and he test drives it to insure we are making right choice. 7. We get back and tell the kids we are signing deal. 8. Waiting at desk. 9. Ari comes and tells me "sorry but price changed from today to yesterday and these prices fluctuate and things happen" 10. Offers me way below for my car trade in and the original price of car which was 4k over. 11. Talk with manger George after watching him lick his hot Cheeto fingers for 10 minutes prior to my disappointment and tell him I won't ever buy there again. 12. All I got from manager George and Ari were "things happen, things change, mistakes were made" and bullshit in those regards. 13. Josh who was the sales man was wonderful and kind. Oxnard Mazda is extremely unprofessional and we will never do business with them again. My daughter purchased a new Mazda3 from Oxnard Mazda in January of 2020. As part of the sales contract, she opted to purchase debt cancellation insurance in the amount of $895 which she financed along with the vehicle purchase. She paid off the car early and was entitled to a refund of the unused portion of her Debt Cancellation insurance. When she contacted Oxnard Mazda about the refund, they asked her to send over paperwork which she did. The sales manager, Richard Hill, then did not respond to further requests for an update. I later found out by contacting the insurance company (ALLY) directly that Oxnard Mazda never sent over payment or paperwork related to the Debt Cancellation policy. So even though Oxnard received payment in full for the insurance, they never executed any documents and they just kept the money. I paid an extra $91.55 in interest for a total of almost $1,000 for a product that I did not receive. After making multiple requests for a full refund, the finance manager said it was "out of his hands" and that the GM, Caesar Caceres would be handling the matter. The problem is that the GM did not respond to any phone calls or correspondence so now I will be filing a lawsuit to recover my money. Oxnard Mazda's unfair business practices and unprofessionalism should concern any potential buyer. If this dealership had any integrity, I would have had a full refund and an apology months ago. To date, I have neither so I will be taking them to court. read more
