    Rueban Sandwich.
    Debbie O.

We have been going here for many moons and the quality of the food and flavors are Always consistent. My favorite is the Rueban and my husband loves their burgers. We have eaten other items on the menu and have never been disappointed. We have also brought family & friends to eat with us here. The restaurant is always clean as are the bathrooms. They also have a bar counter where you can sit and have food. You can also play quick pick there too if you're so inclined. I have never had any issues with any staff members every one has been nice that we have come into contact with. The wait for food is normal , your not waiting forever for your food to come out. Today I had the Rueban and a blueberry lemon drop martini and can I just say yum If you're looking for a nice clean place to eat in Riverhead try Diggers.

From the outside, Diggers looks like a dimly lit hole in the wall serving up Chili's level food. In this case, appearances are more than deceiving. I visited near closing time on a weekday. There were a few patrons hanging out at the bar, but not much beyond that. I can best describe the ambience as an Irish dive bar. The bartender was attentive and friendly. I was promptly served a drink and my food order was taken within a couple minutes. Despite it being prime rib night, I order the Hot Wings and Pub Fries. The wings were nicely fried and have plenty of hot sauce of them. They came out crispy and hot, and were served with an above average restaurant ranch sauce. The wings were huge, and really hit the spot. Next I tried the pub nachos. If you are a cardiac patient, I don't recommend them, but for everyone else, I highly recommend. Perfectly smothered in a mix of shredded and melted cheese with bacon. I was looking for a tasty heart attack on a plate... and that exactly what I got. I was pleasantly surprised all the way around. I will also say that I saw several patrons order the prime rib... and it looked pretty incredible.

Awesome casual ale house with a great kitchen, good crowd and friendly staff. Really liking this place. Short rib, mushroom burger I had was off the charts.

The ambiance is great. The staff so nice. I was not in love with the food. I think it was bland. Not cheap either. Too expensive for okay food.

This place was ok for the day after St. Paddy's day! Casamegos tequila $ a bit steep!

Diggers is an iconic Irish pub in downtown Riverhead. We have eaten here before, and I must say that their burgers are outstanding. Hubby had one of their signature burgers, that had pastrami, swiss cheese, grilled onions, and of course an 8 ounce burger on a brioche bun. He enjoyed it very much. I read about their new chef in a local paper and I opted for one of their specials that was offered. A seafood linguine, and although it was tasty, I think I should have opted for the duck confit , I will do that the next time we eat there. It was a rainy Saturday night, and I must say that our waitress was very cheerful.

Great bar/pub on Main Street in Riverhead. Stephen can pour a pint with the best of them. Had a wings, pretzels, buratta platter and prime rib dip sandwich with fries. It was all delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Last night my friend and I went to Digger's for dinner, our favorite restaurant in Riverhead. We both ended up ordering the same thing for dinner - French Onion Soup (Digger's has the best so far,) Pork Nachos Starter and the Nutty Irishman Specialty Coffee for Dessert. As always, everything was delicious. The staff is very friendly, and their service is excellent. If you're ever in Riverhead, NY or planning on going there you have to go to Digger's and try the French Onion Soup, the Pork Nachos Starter and the Nutty Irishman Specialty Coffee. Trust me, you'll be glad you did!!

First time here. Very famous bar and I can see why, bartenders are amazing and very friendly. Got there before the team showed up. I sat at the bar and it appears, happy hour is really happy. People having a great time. We were a party of ten with no reservations and we were seated immediately. Now that's service! Water was out in no time and waitress took our drink order. They must have known we were from the city. I ordered a Caesar salad without meat and I got a whole head of lettuce which I managed to finish between talking and laughing it vanished. Waitress was very sweet. I would definitely come back when I'm back in the area. Great service and fun place to let your hair down among friends.

The description of the restaurant, the menus and the reviews online made us to decide to give them a try. We're so glad that we did! We entered through the bar entrance which was lively but not crazy loud. There was a musician setting up in one corner of the bar area. We could hear him during our dinner but it was not at all distracting (and he was quite good). We were greeted by one of the hosts (who I now believe may be one of the owners). We were welcomed and escorted to a table in the dining room right behind the bar area. From what I could determine, there were at least two other dining areas and an outside dining area (for dining during the nicer weather). Our server quickly came to welcome us, ask if we had questions about the menu / specials and to take our drink order. She was attentive, pleasant and was able to quickly and accurately answer questions that we had (we have some dietary restrictions and needed to verify some ingredients. She knew immediately what we could order to dine safely. We started our order with the Chiccharon appetizer. I had anticipated that the item would be traditional crispy Chiccaron. Instead the dish was more of a pork belly in a broth. We actually enjoyed that much more! It was plentiful, cooked to perfection and flavorful. For dinner my wife and our friend ordered the sea bass special. They both thought it was plentiful, perfectly prepared and tasted great. I ordered the pork chop with spicy cherry peppers in a light evoo broth. I told our server that I wasn't eating potatoes or rice and asked for a recommendation for a substitute. She recommended the broccolini which was a perfect alternative. My pork chop was served perfectly (medium, juicy,) and was huge! We passed on dessert but the options looked amazing. We will absolutely be back again SOON. Thank you.

The food was great, and were we not stuffed from lunch, we definitely would've gotten some dessert. They all sounded amazing, but we were just too full. This place has a great menu with lots of things that caught my eye. I finally landed on their French Dip, which is one of the best I've had. The meat was ribeye, and it was tender and soft, not to mention moist. The au jus was flavorful and not too salty. The French bread had just enough crunch, but was also soft and easy to bite into. With the melted cheese and caramelized onions, it had amazing flavor!! My grandson and granddaughter split a grilled cheese that looked amazing. My daughter ordered the Bang Bang shrimp tacos, which she thoroughly enjoyed. My husband ordered a drunken chicken melt, which is essentially chicken parm with vodka sauce. He loved it !! Super nice and approachable, let us sample anything we wanted. I went with a flight to start out with since there was a nice variety of options. I'm not an IPA person, so I opted for a peach sour, a pilsner, a wheat beer and one wild card that was bitter but in a good way. I love a good sour and had to get a second glass of the peach beer after my flight. Prices are reasonable, flights are around $12 for four pours, and a draft beer is $9. They also have cans to go if there's a beer you fall in love with and want to take home with you. They have a rotating food truck out back (it was Greek food when we came here) and also had a few empanadas. We did the three for $13 and got a variety. Our bartender accommodated us by leaving the black bean one on a separate plate since one of us don't eat meat. Ambiance here is chill and laid back, there are several games you can play and there was live music you could hear playing from next door at Montauk Distilling Co. which was a nice touch. A solid place to spend a nice Sunday - I was honestly surprised they weren't packed.
