Later they drag their feet with a refund that takes them a week to process, but when I finally nagged them enough about it, they refund me right away. Later on they go ahead and block me on Instagram. Embarrassing, and lack of accountability. OOF. So many better sellers out there than these folks. Ones without an attitude.

IN A LARGE NUTSHELL: I originally called to see if ATRT carried a specific pressing of an artist/album and they did. I purchased that album plus four others. Played all of the albums BUT the specific album I needed - which was the most expensive - was literally unplayable. Contacted owner Kevin and he started making up store policies: claimed the invoice states it allows for only a 50% refund (it doesn't); then stated while he wouldn't refund me, he would try to locate another copy of the album which would probably have a later pressing/label & that I needed to be okay with that since it contained all of the same songs as the original pressing. (I wanted the original release, I paid for the original release, I expected the original release - not a later reissue on a different label - this shouldn't be difficult for any collector to comprehend.) Kevin attempted to bully me by repeatedly cutting me off with his confrontational, condescending, argumentative and arrogant tone which, honestly, was shocking, to say the least. Eventually he admitted he doesn't listen to the albums while simultaneously claiming them to be in great condition - after much back and forth, he finally agreed to reimburse me for the defective album. (It's as though he's great to talk to if you agree with everything he says but if he feels challenged, he takes it as a threat?????) I understand not being able to listen to thousands of albums to check their usability but if they don't work & he doesn't want to provide an in-store opportunity for customers to test them, do the honest thing. Also, post your lack-of-return-policy-of-the-moment so customers know in advance what they're settling for - NOTE: they have you sign the receipt after paying AND keep talking to you while signing so you simply think you're signing for receipt of merchandise - if there's a no-return clause or a partial refund clause, you won't know that. As I stated to Kevin over the phone, I'm not mad or angry about the hostile way he treated me, I'm actually sad - what could have been a pretty darn good experience with a local small business turned out to be a pretty awful one. MY MISTAKE - I should have read other reviews BEFORE visiting because there are wildly differing opinions on this place and all seem legit - the good and the bad. My first review was great and as you can see, that soured pretty frickin' quickly. It doesn't take much to be decent and honest - especially if you'd like to keep customers who are happy to share their experiences with others.

I bought out all the Blue Magic albums they had at the time and was able to find several ones that are not available on Spotify or Apple Music. My only comment is that I wish the used hip-hop section had less singles and more complete albums at reasonable prices. I will definitely return next time I'm in LA. I ended up copping the 75th Anniversary Sailor Moon vinyl for wifey since it was a record she had been chasing and one we do not see in the wild often. Having taken another purchase to a frame shop in Mid-City that was recommended by the shop. I ended up paying an arm and a leg, for that job, so for my next poster, I decided to give Baller Art Ware a shot given it's right down the street from our house. I took it in, and the very friendly person at the front helped me pick a frame material, walked me through the process, and explained that they are very backed up, and it would take about 8 weeks to complete the job. They quoted me a very reasonable price, and I was in no hurry so I had them proceed. The framer called me a couple days later, concerned with some of the details of the job. He probably could've been a little friendlier on the phone, I've seen some reviews to that effect, but at the end of the day i appreciated that he just really wanted to do a good job, and do right by the vintage poster. We agreed on a path forward and that was it. At the end of the day, they set expectations for how long it would take, and they met their estimate, did a beautiful job with the frame, and charged a very fair price for the job. You have to walk up a flight of stairs but this is cali, so I know you're all in great shape ja! Once I wlaked up there I met the owner I think, Stephan who was this cool cat and fun to talk too. They dont get much foot traffic since its on the other side of spring street, however its worth seeking out. I I love the LA art scene and more importantly the LA art walk. One gets it all from a variety of artisans from weekend warriors to life long professionals displaying and selling their work. From prints, paintings, sketches, stickers, necklaces, shirts, hats, and etc to just name a few.. Having this diverse amount of artist is cool because theres somthing fof everyone to enjoy, buy, and explore. Now im an adventurer so I love going on a hunt for hidden galleries. I had a ton of questions since his gallery looked over Indian Alley. He also gave me some insight on Crewest (one of my favorite galleries before it closed down). It was nice to connect with a gallery owner, most if not all I visit don't provide that experience. There are two rooms accessed by two flights of stairs. One being the gallery that showcases the current installation and then the bookstore that also sells a variety of merchandise. I purchased a fig leaf candle and I can't wait to light it up. It smells lovely. Both rooms are well lit and inviting. I was the only visitor so I had the entire space to myself. The current exhibition is "Afraid of Modern Living" by World Imitation & Monitor. There's a map that shows where to begin. I didn't know until I saw everything and did it backwards, but that's the beauty of art, there are plenty of tries. I will definitely have to make a visit at a opening night. I can imagine how this place fills up. That analog sound is so warm & cozy to the soul. I remember interviewing a band called Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. I think of them every time I pass this store. Even though it's a small shop, it's packed with a variety of new and used LPs & EPs from various musical genres. I came here to pick up some records for a friend as a holiday gift. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed browsing through the stacks and saw some records that brought back some great memories.
