I recently visited this Los Angeles icon and I wasn't disappointed. They have a flat $25 fee, which gets you unlimited plays for a day. Keep in mind that they are a "cash only" establishment. They have a private parking lot in the back, which is convenient because street parking in that area can be a pain. They have a good mix of different games (sports, shooting, skee-ball, pool table, prize games, and pinball machines). The place is clean and the staff is friendly. Family Arcade was a perfect experience for our family. My husband actually used to sneak off to this arcade growing up in the 70's! It has definitely stood the test of time. We met Greg upon entering and he was beyond helpful and accommodating. The flat $25 fee was appropriate for the variety of games and activities to appeal to all ages. Skeeball and Air Hockey included. I was thrilled because they had Dig Dug...I'm not a gamer by any stretch of the imagination but, I was parked at that nostalgic one for hours! I brought my 4 grandchildren here, after driving by thought it would be fun. I am an older lady, I do not play any of these games. Took my 11 year old son there. We got there right at opening on a Saturday. There's a big, free parking lot in the back of the arcade. We were the only ones there and pretty much had the place to ourselves for a while. It's a nice mix of games. Pinball, some classic retro games, racing games but mostly things from the 2000's, I guess. They also had pool, 4 person air hockey(which I had never seen before), basketball and skeeball... It was fun to just be able to go around and play whatever you want, for as long as you want. I was hoping for some more popular games from my childhood. I wonder if they ever rotate new games in? Anyway, it was fun to be able to play games all the way through, which we did on several games, which was a lot of fun. I used a groupon and I think the price was fair. I came across this arcade after attending an event nearby and decided to walk in. The atmosphere felt very old school, but in a good way. I saw multiple games that I enjoyed and some that I have never seen before. They had some basic games like air hockey and some select games like this Japanese rhythm game and a Star Wars game (which I unfortunately did not take a photo of.) The prices were fair in my opinion, as I went on a Tuesday where there was a special. However, $25 per person is a great price as most arcades near me charge $25 but the credits only last about an hour. While I didn't interact with the staff much, they were very easy going and when I had asked to see their selection before paying, they said go for it. this place was really cool. I took my son and my fiancé to family arcade LA. They had a lot of games going from the 80s 90s and early 2000s. it was an impressive collection. The only game they had that was depressing was the one Star Wars game and that's because it was out of order every other game in there we tried worked. The Star Wars game is why I'm going to give it a lower than five star review but it's a 4.9 star. I recommend going there at least once because it is very nostalgic like old school retro arcades used to be my son loved it and so did my fiancé who is saying something because she's not in the video games like me and my son. read more

Been here twice now, both late at night after dinner. They were on Friday and Saturday. There's metered parking on the street that's free when we've came and there's always plenty of spots. It's $25 per person to play as much as you like and for as long as you like and they're cash only. They do have an ATM inside. The inside is very spacious and feels nostalgic with the neon colors and noises. Surprisingly, not too crowded and plenty of opportunity to play games and repeat. If you come with a bigger group, it may be hard to play together on the race car driving games. In addition to those games, they have basketball, skeeball, air hockey, pin ball, street fighter, guitar hero, punching bags, guitar hero, and tons of shooting games like Jurassic Park and House of Dead. I get a little tired after a couple of hours but even still it's totally worth the money. My favorites are guitar hero and air hockey. It's really fun to play the shooter games because you never have to worry about spending more money if you die. Definitely recommend! It's a cute date (my boyfriend took me here for a date as a surprise) and good for family (I took my sister when she visited me and plan to take others!). read more

It's located across the street from LACC, there is quarter paid street parking or I think you could buy a day pass from one of the school's parking lots. There's the subway stop 2 blocks from here so you can take the Red Line to get here. It's cash only $25 per person (they have an atm) and you get unlimited game play for however long you like on any game included (except the Photo Booth and claw machine games). A divey arcade land off Vermont Avenue with several classics even multiple Marvel V. Capcom games (my jam) both standing and sitting.. I've been here a few times now with my boyfriend and we always go wild on Simpsons, Terminator Salvation, Jurassic Park, Street Fighter and MVC2. We've branch out more recently since they do have some other multiple player games and what not like Mario Kart (which is one game per race even if you place in the top 4... lame). Family Amusement Corporation/Corp/Center or F.A.C. (super weird generic name for an arcade) also offers some recreational non-arcade games such as skee-ball, air hockey and some timeless classics you probably grew up with at Shakey's, Discovery Zone and those 80s/90s/00s years.... yaaas nostalgia! No real food or drinks here other than what's in the vending machines so snack, meal and hydrate ahead of time or after. They are open until 1AM and are close to some small eateries and markets, plus it's only about a mile or two down from Vons and Ralphs at the 3rd/Vermont intersection. This place is easy to get to on the train (red line) and/or local city metro as the Vermont/Santa Monica station is a light up... otherwise there is some street parking. Major downside besides the lack of appeal from the outside absolutely is that the bathrooms (quarters to get in) reek and make it difficult to enjoy the games within range. Additionally some of the machines clearly do not get serviced as much as they should/could as we have both had quarters eaten and several dispensed as what one could only assume is a customer friendly glitch. They do have great incentives for breaking larger bills which give you additional quarters in play anywhere from $10 and up for additional coins. It's an Low Budget Dave & Busters with a splash of Chuck-E-Cheese on bootleg mixed in... enjoy! read more

This arcade got an upgrade. It's not dingy and rundown like other reviews describe. Quality It is well lit and the machines are good quality. There is a mixture of games old school to more modern. Especially if you are looking for DDR or In The Grove! Which is why I go to this arcade, one of the few places in LA with quality DDR. The bathrooms were clean and I didn't have to pay for them! Payment The grand reopening post covid was May 3rd. As of right now it's $25 for free play as long as you want. I was there for 4 hours and would have spent way more than $25 in tokens I think it's a great deal. Covid enforcement. Masks are required at all times. No food or drink inside the arcade (you can eat or drink outside, which the company allows). There is a vending machine if you didn't bring anything, which I suggest you do. I don't know what the max capacity is, or if there even is one. I recommend coming during the day if you are worried about being around too many people. There is security walking about enforcing the mask rule. Hand sanitizer is available. But the games ARE NOT wiped down. Bring your own wipes or prepare to sanitize after every game. Parking Street parking. I don't believe they have a lot. There is some parking in front of the arcade but you may need to walk a little ways.
