i ordered a computer from digital storm. every update had an extended delivery time. i had the finance option the pc was $4k the bill was going to come way before i got the pc. I build computers and i know it does not take this long to build a single pc maby 4 hours at most 2 hour stress test and 1 hour for overclocking it. thats 7 hours i do not see how this translates into nearly 2 months. i will not go back to this company because it feels to me like a scam. i would not advise buying a computer here as you will wait forever and be paying for a product you do not have. Trust the reviews less than 5 stars they don't lie. read more

My son has had one of their computers (Cost $4,500) for less than 6 months and the liquid cooling system failed. Be aware that even though covered by warranty, you will have to pay shipping to return the computer to them. This is going to cost us in excess of $400. Loved the customization options. When I ordered, I was updated via email each time my machine was moved along the assembly/testing process, and I got it relatively quickly. It arrived in a very large, very strong and well-protected box, and it's worked perfectly ever since I plugged it in. They don't do a very good job at their products. They are good, no better than HP or Dell though. For double the price of the lower spectrum computers the specs are about the same. I thought I was getting something special, I got something ordinary. Two and a half years in I got a giant paperweight. Still trying to get it to work because of driver AND disk failure. The tech guys are worthless and the staff just keep redirecting you to them. Just save the money, get a HP, I know, I thought that "sigh" thought too but nothing is special here. Purchased two computers from them on the same day on the recommendation from my brother. The experience was excellent. The bank couldn't process both transactions but the team at Digital Storm worked with me and them to make sure everything was taken care of. Once system shipped two days later and the other about 5 days later. They also called UPS to have them release the package for same day pickup after we missed the delivery truck at the house. Both systems booted up without issue the first time. I highly recommend them for their great value and excellent customer service. read more

Update- after finally talking to a knowledgeable tech, the overclock issue was resolved. The computer is functioning correctly. Very fast. I'm using EASE and AutoCAD 2016LT with good results. Purchased a $2600 workstation. The build looked OK, and the computer booted up first thing. However, I paid for a 4.4GHz overclock of a 4 GHz processor. When I checked (using CPU-Z and the system BIOS) the processor was running at 4.1GHz frequency and was rated at 98% of the same processor in CPU-Z's database. So much for overclocking. You have to ask them for the test results, which should be included with the computer. Customer service is useless. Do not believe these guys hype. If you want an OC, then you'd better specify that in writing. As far as DStorm is concerned, a .25% OC is all that they need to do to qualify as an OC. Build it yourself, or live with the bloatware that Lenovo and Dell use. At least they stand behind their product and will offer you an advance replacement or free shipping. I ordered a laptop gaming system from over half a year ago and it arrived exactly as it should and runs beautifully. I have not had to call customer service so I have no experience with that. It was nice to get a system with the current tech and without all the added junk that takes up space. Let me preface this by saying my boyfriend and I are avid gamers, both console and pc. We were looking to upgrade our gaming experience and after some research, we decided that Digital Storm's builds looked promising and proceeded to order our pc, which came to around twenty four hundred dollars. With that being said, based on the amount that we paid for our build, I would have expected it to run free of issues. However that was far from the case. Exactly thirty-seven days after our purchase the pc shut off in the middle of game play, which was surprising as the system requirements of the game were far from demanding. Since then the computer has been unable to stay on. It powers on, resets and shuts off again. All within a time span short enough to make it impossible to even long in to our desk top. We have sat on hold with customer help for ridiculous periods of time on multiple occasions and when we were finally connected to an "expert" they seem annoyed or like they couldn't be bothered by our issue. The conversation was riddled with silences from their end and made for an overall frustrating experience. With no solution suggested from their end, we suggested perhaps, it was a faulty power supply. They proceeded to send us a replacement as long as we shipped the old one back. Upon the arrival of the new hardware we hooked it up and still the same problem arose. We called customer service, again, and are waiting for a ludicrous amount of time, again. Only then to be placed on hold, again! While the person we were connected to spoke to someone about returning our machine for it to be fixed. Ultimately, that is what's happening as of now and I seriously hope that everything plays out after this headache of an experience. Digital Storm has beautiful machines, and ours worked well while it lasted. However I would advise anyone looking into buying a pc to stay away from this business, at least until they improve upon their customer service. There are plenty of good, reliable, local businesses who could build a very similar machine for a similar cost. read more

What a complete joke this company.. SOOOO "professional"! Got my first ever gaming PC from them today and guess what? The motherboard wasn't screwed in!!! It didn't even have screws! It was hanging from the wires! It has scratches on it and not to mention it scratched up the case.. The graphics card suffered too from this as its metal frame was bent.. Returning for a refund today and buying a gaming pc from best buy. *UPDATE*Jericho said that my order did not leave the facility in that manner! I do not recommend Digital Storm at all. If you are expecting to develop a good business-customer relationship with this company you can forget it. If you are lucky enough to get a working system without bugs, glitches, and failures then you're one of the few. Just don't expect them to care about what happens a year later when your $3,000 laptop or PC finally fails. Go to Better Business Bureau website to view 37 Digital Storm complaints in the past 3 years. They have a poor reputation here on Yelp as well. Anyway, In August 2015 I ordered a $5000 custom-built computer online from digitalstorm.com. They hit me with a $400 shipping charge for 200 lbs. When the computer arrived, it only weighed 70 lbs. They grossly padded the shipping charge. The system finally arrived 5 weeks after ordering. It was missing a rubber pad on one of the legs, making it tipsy. I had to remove the other 3 to level it. It was also missing the dust covers on the DVI ports. Shoddy build quality. It worked for about 20 minutes before the screen went black. I noticed liquid coolant leaking inside onto the mainboard and graphics card. Before they let me talk to tech support, they insisted I text a photo of the leak. When I finally got tech support on the phone, they actually said leaks happen all the time and for me to just tighten the fittings and mop up the liquid. Not very detailed in their assistance. I felt rushed off the phone. I found which fitting was leaking myself and luckily I had the right big-sized open-end wrenches to tighten. The computer continually locked up, displayed multiple error messages, and was completely unusable right from the start. I called to request RMA return for full refund and was told I would have to pay return shipping and 15% ($400) restocking fee! I told them that's unacceptable, as their product never worked. They agreed to waive restocking fee, and they did send me a return shipping label (based on 70 lbs, not 200) but continually gave me the run-around about the refund. I had to file a chargeback dispute with my credit card. Digital Storm finally granted the refund, but THEY KEPT 15% EVEN AFTER AGREEING TO WAIVE RESTOCKING FEE. The computer works great, when it turns on. Half the time the screen is just black and I have to restart it immediately. I have no trouble playing my games, and that's nice, but it would be nicer to have a computer that actually turns on when you turn it on. Especially since I paid almost 3 grand for it. read more

A shame to see so many people having the same problems I had. The first PC I got from them was great. The power supply went bad after 1.5 years, but no big deal. So, I ordered a second PC when I needed an upgrade. The computer arrived and it wouldn't turn on. Called in and they found out it was a problem with the hard drive. They got me up and running, and then the PC went down again 2 weeks later. My wife called them and they said it was the power supply and they would send one out that day and that it would take 5 business days. I waited 7 since it was Christmas time before I called them. 3 phone calls and 4 emails later, I figured they were closed for the holidays. They finally emailed me back to tell me it was on backorder and they would send it out. So 5 weeks later, I finally have my PC back and running. The PC was a beast, but over the next 4 weeks, the hard drive quit working for some reason 3 more times, and, as was to become the norm, I would have to call and email several times before finally getting a response. Then, the whole PC went down. I called it in and they said they would talk me through it, and after quite a bit of time I told them I wanted to send it in so they could check the whole PC out. I paid to send it back and they said they would email me a label. Over the next 10 days, I called and emailed several more times and got no response and no label. The last message I left I told them to email it to me as I was leaving for 12 days for vacation. Got back from vacation and no label. I called in, they checked the records and said you haven't got that yet? I said no. She emailed it me within an hour. When I finally got the computer back, I pulled it out of the box, which was in perfect condition by the way, only to find both panels off the PC and sitting on the same side. As I pulled it out of the box, I noticed that the PC was crooked. Looked as though it had been dropped on corner and bent the whole frame. The fan was damaged and side panels wouldn't go back on. I took pics of the computer damage and the box and sent an email to the tech. They emailed me another label and I returned it again. Upon getting the PC back, they found out that the video card was not working properly so they were gonna replace it. They emailed to see if I wanted a similar card. I responded back that yes I would. 3 days later, I get a call saying I had not responded yet, so, within 5 minutes, I called back and left them a message that I had responded to the email 3 days ago. Again I get another message emailed to me that they are waiting on me. I called them right back and told customer service that I wanted to talk to a live person because somehow they are not getting my messages. 2 weeks later, I had not heard anything, so I called again and left another message. All of a sudden, my PC is on its way the next day. When I get it back, I plug it in aaaannd, nothing. I call back and after several calls and emails, I finally get to someone. After spending a couple of hours removing this part and that part, we find out that there is a bad memory strip. So he says he will send another one to replace it and wants me to send back the bad one. So after having the PC for 11 months, it did not work for almost 6.5 of those months. 3 weeks later, I call about the memory strip. They finally returned my calls and emails 3 days after having the computer for a year. They tell me they know nothing about this. After getting upset with them, I got an email the next day saying they charge me half the price for a new memory strip since my PC wasn't under warranty anymore. I asked them how that could be since I had 3 year warranty. Never got an answer on that and never got a return call, letter, or email from the manager that I had asked to speak to. Very disappointed in the way this was handled and that they never did anything to help alleviate this problem. Now I have just passed the 2 year mark on this computer. For the past 9 months, I have reboot this thing several times a day as there is always a critical error and blue screen. I also download my video card drivers at least once a week as my computer seems to continue to delete it. Same with the printer and several other drivers on this PC. Here is to hoping my that I have better luck with the Origin PC I just ordered. Anyone who orders from them, make sure if you have a problem, you call them everyday to make sure they made all the notes they were supposed to and that they are getting you taken care of. A real shame too. After that first PC, I thought I would be ordering from them for life. If this had been handled better, you may never have seen this post. read more

I am blown away with all the negative cancerous reviews about this company on Yelp. I ordered my Digital Storm Vanquish 4 Lvl 4 back in December 2015 and received it right before Christmas. It was a smooth buying process and the computer came in about a week and half. It showed up in great condition and package well with no damage. I had the computer up and running in about 15min and it booted right up with no problems. This computer has been able to play any game at high to ultra setting that I throw at it and it doesn't miss a beat. I have had this computer now for about 3 months and I have not had a signal problem with it that would cause me to call customer service. I am not sure what happened to these people to leave such horrible reviews but my experience has been great along with many other people that have bought a computer from Digital Storm. If you are looking to buy a computer from DS just be sure to do more research them just Yelp. I suggest going to the BBB website and head over to their forums and read up from real customers. read more

I completed a configuration for a new computer on their website. The customer service representative was helpful with a few questions I had regarding their selection of fans and options for hard drives. However, despite what the website indicates, you must purchase a video card in order for them to test the machine. Which means if you are in a similar situation as myself and already own a good video card (GTX 980 for me) and do not want to purchase a video card, they require you to spend the $140 for the cheapest card available. Poor website design and bad customer service. Especially since I was looking at a $4,200 rig. read more

I ordered a Vanquish level 4 and was told by the salesperson that the system would ship in two days and their website says that the Vanquish systems ship within 72 hours. A week later and my system has not shipped and when I called I was told that it was never even sent to be built. I asked for a supervisor and was told that there is only one customer service person but I would get a call back later from a supervisor. No call ever came.... I then called back and the customer service person said that they are not really customer service but rather a technician that needed to answer the phone because no one else was available. I asked for the system to be sent by overnight express and was told that they only make $50 on a Vanquish and they will not take a loss. WOW !!! Great customer service.... No apologies and they said they may be able to get it to me in a week or so... I will never purchase from this company gain. read more

Ordered a 500$ Asus G-sync monitor from these guys and it has taken over a week to get to me. Now that It is in my local town, I HAVE to be home to sign for the package. After calling their customer support number for the 4th time today I can confidently say that this is single handedly the worst I've ever been treated as a customer. I had the first Representative sigh in my ear when I asked them to change the permissions of the package pick up. I was told I would receive a call back 3 times now by 3 separate employees and not one of them has honored their word. My monitor is currently held hostage by UPS and I have no other option but to be around when they try and deliver it. If you work a normal 9 to 5 job and want to receive your purchase at all, don't give these scumbags your business. I purchased a Digital Storm ODE V2 level 4 in 2012. Had a small issue a few weeks in (pop sound and burning smell) where I sent it back. Ended up being a blown light which was repaired quickly and the computer shipped back. Customer service was great and repairs went quick (think I had the computer back within 2 weeks including shipping). I have been extremely happy with my computer from DS and their lifetime support which I have used several times over the years. Ended up here as I am looking for a new computer and I wasn't considering anyone but DS until I started seeing complaints during Google searches on the Aventum 3. Seeing all the negative complaints on quality and customer service since my purchase has me confused. I wanted to put in my review from my experience in 2012 and will probably call DS tomorrow to see what the heck has changed there since my last purchase before making my decision to go with the Aventum 3. read more

Bought a gaming desktop in July 2011. Order and delivery went without a hitch. Had system crash at about 6 month mark. Unfortunately I didn't read the fine print on the warranty carefully. After the 1st 30 days they don't cover shipping costs for warranty replacement items. And they send stuff UPS ground which is 6 days from CA to FL. I was quoted $170 to upgrade shipping to 2 day air for a SSD. So I'm out a week. 1st replacement failed after an hour. So now another week. After about 20 min of arguing supervisor agreed to make an exception and sent 3 day air. They also replaced PSU. System worked about a week and again failed. Tech asked if I wanted to send system in - but at my expense so would be $200. So they are now sending a new MB for me to replace. So no computer for another week. Their warranty covers labor, but this is useless for a desktop if you have to pay a few hundred to ship it. Also support is not available nights/weekends. I guess now that I've basically had to build a computer, next time I'll order from NewEgg and just do it myself to start with. read more

Digital storm was a nightmare to deal with it. I was one of the unlucky people who got their PC and it had issues bios was installed incorrectly. i had to re-install windows and then it black screened 6 hours later. I send in the PC and I email them to ask about warranty information they dodged the question and told me they found the issue with my PC. So I ask them what the issue was and then they told me they didn't find the issue. So I asked about the warranty info again and have my question dodged till I call them, Turns out they will take off 15% because they can't find the issue. Fast forward about 14 days later because I don't wanna lose 15% I get the PC back and the front USB ports don't work, then the video card failed with in 24 hours. Then I had to wait 3 more days to get a video card send to me. It took them almost a month to get me a working PC. The PC has been working for about a week now and now that its actually working its a good PC. But the nightmare I had to deal with to get a working PC was not worth the headache read more

In September 2016 I ordered a Digital Storm Aura. My order was processed through the first 3 stages, and then stayed in stage 3 through the beginning of October, which is when the Aura was supposed to ship by. I then emailed customer support about why my system had not shipped as of a week after the estimated ship date. I got a reply saying that they were out of Aura cases and should be getting some in the next week. Two weeks after the email my system was still in stage 3 and I had received no further communication about why this was the case. I then called on three separate occasions over the 2 weeks and was told a different answer each time. The first person who answered said that there should be cases arriving within a week and that one would be assigned to my system. A week passed and there was still no progress or communication about my system. I called back and was told that they got Aura cases in at a rate of 15 every other month, but i could call back later that week and see if one had arrived. I did so and was told that while there were no Aura cases I could apply my payment to a different system or I could get a refund. After thinking this over I called back to get a refund. I had a very helpful customer service representative who processed the refund and informed me that the reason there were no cases was that an order of them had arrived damaged, which put them behind on building Auras. Finally, after processing my refund they sent me a survey about my experience with Digital Storm. When I rated them poorly, they sent an email that they would contact me to find a resolution that would change my experience. That was on November 3rd, and it is now November 21 and I have not been contacted. Overall, the customer service throughout this process was very unhelpful, as there was no communication from Digital Storm to me that was initiated by them. As it was an issue on their end (not having cases) they should have emailed me about that, or should have let me know why they did not have cases the first time I contacted them. I did not get the same answer from any of the people I did speak with, and the only time someone attempted to provide me with more of an answer that "I don't know, call back later" was when I called to get a refund. read more

I have nothing good to say about Digital Storm. After waiting almost 2 weeks for my Bolt order, I was notified that the gunmetal black case was no longer available, but they had only the white one. They made me believe that the case I wanted was discontinued. Nothing was said about backordering, or that there was a delay. Basically take the white one, or nothing. I then was told via the forums from a different DS employee that I could probably still get the case I ordered but it would take a few weeks. What?! Just 2-3 days before this, this same employee told me that all Bolt delays had been fixed and my order would ship in 10 days. Now I'm getting two different stories, from two different employees, about my order. Who was right? Employee #1 was very clear that the black case was no longer available. Period. Now Employee #2 was saying almost the exact opposite, and also going back on the so-called no delay's statement he lied about before. Since they were giving me the run around about my order, and telling me different stories, I cancelled my order and went elsewhere to buy a high end system. I believe that Digital Storm lied to me, in order to get me to go with the white case, just to get the order out the door and also because DS doesn't want to order an entire batch of black cases because the black ones don't sell as many as the white ones. So they didn't want to tie up money in black case stock and instead, try to persuade customers to get a white one instead. This company is dishonest about it's build times as well. They constantly tell customers to just keep waiting, waiting, waiting. Wait 5-10 days here, 1-2 weeks here, blah, blah. It's always something with them. They must have a serious problem with their so-called paint shop, because it's always their fault for never producing enough cases, or something. There are people who've waited a month and a half, just for a Bolt order. Ridiculous. That's what I was looking at, for my build time. Talk about being slower than my grandma. Geesh. I would suggest going elsewhere for a gaming system, because Digital Storm will just put you in a state of never ending limbo, with inaccurate information regarding your order. They seriously need to get organized on inventory control, and better communications. read more

Bought an advertised system in April 2012, which they charged my credit card the full amount even thought the case was not going to be available till June. July rolls around and I get an email stating that the system was being assembled. Their 72 hour stress test only took two days and the system was shipped via fed ex a week later because of "backlog". The $8000 system arrived with very poor assembly and crappy worm drive clamps on the hoses.( it was a water cooled system). Additionally it looked nothing like the picture on the web. The cooling system was leaking and made of the cheapest components put together by a noob who had never worked on this class of computer. Fan wires stretched and connected to the mother board, one fan with no connection. The " inspection " must have been done by a blind person. Sent the system back after many gracious emails. Part purchased by them are marked up 300 %. For invoicing, stocking and ordering. I got a dog and am now stuck with it. I would not recommend them for their worthless warranty, false 72 hour burn in and sneaky sales that show one thing and sell another. Their reviews in PC mags are nothing but paid marketing. For the nearly $10k I got stuck with a computer they had no idea how to build. read more
