I came in looking for some help upgrading my current rig, and he was incredibly courteous, polite, and patient with me while I asked what probably felt like a million questions. I'm pretty computer illiterate when it comes to a lot of this stuff, and he took his time explaining everything without ever making me feel rushed or like I was bothering him. This is actually my third time coming back to this Central Computers, and experiences like this are exactly why. Great service from start to finish here at Central Computers!…read moreI went in here to buy a new PC case and was greeted right away from Amon (I think that's his name, he had glasses). He was able to point me to what I needed right away and was very knowledgeable and answered questions that I had. After I setup my PC at home, I wanted to change some settings in BIOS and change my partition from MBR to GPT, Secure Boot On, and Legacy to UEFI but had problems doing so. I submitted a ticket through their website and got a reply right away from Chi. He gave me a quote and offered me an upgrade to Windows 11 along with the setting changes. The email conversations were quick and once finalized, I gave them a call to confirm when I can drop off my PC for the BIOS setting changes and upgrade to Windows 11. Needing my PC back quickly, I paid extra for the express fee. Laila checked me in at the service counter and took down notes on what I wanted done. Later that day, I got a phone call back from their tech Keymond. He explained what needed to be done in order to get my BIOS setting and partitions changed from MBR to GPT. I ended up getting a new M.2 SSD and the next day, I got a call back from them saying my PC was ready for pick up. Keymond was really nice in explaining what needed to be done and explained his process thoroughly, definitely a friendly guy. He was really nice over the phone even and was happy to explain to me the work done in person. Service here is great from Check-In to Check-Out. I would highly recommend this place for any computer parts and service. They have a wide variety of selection of computer parts. I will be coming back for any PC needs. This is a mom and pop type of shop located directly across the street from the 7-11 on Jackson Street in Hayward. I have an Apple iMac and the work was completed without issues. I would strongly suggest either texting or calling Vicente first, rather than just showing up to his shop to let him know you're on your way to see him. As I mentioned earlier, this is a small business so there may be times where he needs to leave his shop momentarily and you may miss him if you just show up without giving him a heads up. My daughter had her screen replaced by Phone Hut a few weeks ago. They initially bad mouthed the…read morestore that had replaced her screen prior which was unprofessional. When my daughter picked her phone up, she noticed the quality of the screen was very poor. The front facing camera was visually grainy which affected FaceTime, videos, and camera quality. My daughter ended up going back to have it looked at and Raj and Adeel let her know that it was her screen protector. They removed the screen protector which doesn't make sense at all, but my daughter left thinking that everything was resolved. Wrong, the quality of the front camera was still an issue with no change or improvement. She also purchased the screen protector from the store and never received a refund. She came back a third time and they ended up replacing the screen. Usually, second time's the charm right? Not this time. The quality was exactly the same. My daughter tried messaging through Yelp to find a resolution, but her messages were completely ignored. I'm disappointed in the customer service this store provided although having a good rating. My daughter had to find a more reliable and dependable store to have her screen replaced. So far, it's as new as the day we bought it. Not to mention that the new store we went to was very friendly, fast, and provided a warranty. Having to pay for another store's failure is unpleasant.
