I visited this daycare over the weekend, only to find there was no one manning the front desk as i waited for 15 minutes. I finally had to call and have someone meet me in their own office. The daycare looked fine, they were cleaning and the temperature was pleasant. However, it was very boring and dull. I did plan to try them out with my newest puppy, a Bernese mountain dog mix, who is considered a large breed and therefore the vet recommended he not be neutered until 8months old due to growth during these few months. The daycare has a policy of all dogs being neutered by 6months because of mounting and aggression which is understandable. However, my puppy who just turned 5months has learned the art of mounting, as all other dogs do once in awhile, and management told me that they would have me pick him up if he were to start mounting other dogs (a PUPPY) and he wouldn't be allowed back until he was neutered. I've owned many dogs and have always taken them to daycare, without a neutering issue at the puppy stages. I decided to give them a try since they are close to my home in stapleton, but it seems they have a huge issue with PUPPIES mounting, so i will take the time and money to travel elsewhere, a place where my puppy can learn and grow comfortably since their staff cannot control NORMAL dog/puppy behavior. weve been taking our goldendoodle here since he was a pup. Had used many other doggie daycares in Denver with our past dogs and this one is hands-down the best. They take great care of him during the day and when we leave him for extended periods they are attentive to our requests (brushing him nightly)... they even let my kids "talk" to him over the phone on his birthday while we were on vacation! Great place and we are so lucky to have digstown for our dog- can go on vacations without a worry. read more

I have been taking my dog to Digstown since he was a puppy for daycare and boarding, so about a year now...We have had a few issues with dogs temperments (mine is especially playful), but I was always called with any problems, and none have been more than dogs being dogs. He loves going, the staff is always friendly and accommodating. I think live feed cameras would be great. read more

We've been taking our dog Boone to Digstown since the opening day as well. He's a complete spaz and wreaks havoc at all the local dog parks, so we were worried he'd be expelled in no time. After a short breaking in period and lots of TLC from the staff, he found his home away from home. We know he's made a lot of friends there. Very professional and courteous crew who all care a great deal about the residents. After a while you'll need to blindfold your dog when you drive him there, or he'll make a mess of your car as you're pulling up! Highly recommended. read more

We've been boarding & daycare customers of the original Digstown location for the past six months or so (since we've had our dog) and of the north location more recently. Always a good experience and on the boarding side, they've been very accommodating for a dog who hates being left alone in a private room. I would suggest they add live camera feeds so owners can check up periodically on their dogs... otherwise, it's totally met our needs and the pricing seems to be competitive, especially when pre-paying for blocks of days. read more

Our dogs love Digstown, they go once every week and it makes our lives sooo quiet once they get back! I do wish they would replace their peat gravel with a softer surface as it took our dogs several months (~6) to develop enough calluses on their paws to the point where they weren't coming home with large wounds after a full day here. It was concerning enough that we considered, several times, taking them elsewhere. However, they always seemed excited to go and we're pleased with the outdoor space, the staff, the price, and the location that we continued to take them and keep a close eye on the paws. They now have no issues, but it took some time and a lot of TLC to get to this point. read more

I scheduled my dog for an evaluation. Receptionist gave me two days to choose from. I told her I'd be there Wed. I go in the afternoon. She tells me they only do evaluations in the morning. She failed to tell me that. Now they're booked for all days left befor I had my dog scheduled to board. Had I known I would've saved myself the trip. Now I have to find a new place to board my dog. I have been taking my dog here for a little while. The ppl seemed to love her. The other day i picked her up and she had a deep laceration above her shoulder blade. They never even said anything about it!!! they acted liket hey had no idea what happened. My dog had to spend the night at the hospitol, the dr. said it was a bite wound. For acting like they cared so much about my dog, they never did call and now are not returning my phone calls!!! Beware, dont take your dog here. they are heartless people, who only act to care. i also had a friend who stopped taking her dog here, because he would start to shake when he got the door. Never use this place - THEY LOST OUR DOG! We decided to board her here for the Fourth of July weekend and dropped her off on Friday the first. A little before 8pm Oma was left unattended in the yard and jumped the fence. They didn't notify us that our dog was gone until 1.5 hours later. We were out of town and came home as soon as we could. Little to no action was taken by Digstown to find our dog and it is clear there are no procedures in place for a dog escape. Many staff members looked for Oma on their own time but it is clear their efforts were not motivated by the company. We would never recommend this place to anyone. We only wish we took our dog somewhere else! read more

As a Stapleton resident, I have used Digstown for two years with great satisfaction. My dog has always been excited to be dropped off and is happy/exhausted when I pick him up. Unfortunately, Digstown has recently changed their pricing structure, and the prices weren't cheap to begin with. I used to board my dog overnight when I knew in advance I was going to be on call. Digstown charged $36 for a single overnight stay and two days of daycare. They have decided to increase the cost of the overnight stay to $39 and to charge for the next day of day care (an additional $27) if you do not pick your dog up by 9:30am...bringing the grand total for a single overnight stay with two days of day care to $66. Seriously Digstown? This shows blatant disrespect for your customers, and my dog will not be returning as long as you think you can get away with such price gorging. I would suggest others do the same until the owners of Digstown come to their senses. I am truly disappointed. read more

Digstown is always so friendly and recognizes my dog by name. She's excited to spend the day with her friends. The facility is well ran, clean and has ample outside play areas for all size dogs. I really don't want to post a negative review, but would want to know if I were looking for honest feedback on where to send my dog. My experience with these guys was not great. My dog always came back very dirty and anxious. She would hide behind my legs when I came to pick her up and would act very anxious at drop off. They frequently called me saying my dog was having behavioral issues but never had any advice on what to work on and didn't seem to know much about dog behavior or training. I take my dog to a new daycare now where they have cameras and I can check on her. They haven't once contacted me with behavioral issues and say she is super friendly and a staff favorite! Also, when I pick my dog up now she is calm, happy, and just as clean as when I dropped her off. I would think twice before sending your dog to Digstown. read more

I must agree with the low ratings of Digstown. I will echo the experience below re: holiday fees. My little dog stayed overnight on New Year's Eve 2010-11, and when I arrived to drop her off they informed me there would be a "holiday fee" that had not been explained to me over the phone when I made the reservation. The person behind the desk said as a customer I should be aware of their policies and they always tell people about their extra fee, and that I should just "be grateful they are even open on the holidays." The woman behind me in line also said she had not been made aware of the surcharge, but the staff refused to admit this was their oversight, and instead blamed me! Their drop-off hours are absurd (only until 9am) with pickup equally hard (only between 4 and 7pm). They have also changed their policy to NOT include the following day of daycare for overnight stays. So on New Years I had to drop her off in the morning (no evening drop offs allowed), pay an extra $15 and had to pick her up by 9am the next morning or pay for an entire extra day of care. Essentially 24 hours cost me $57, and if I had wanted to pick her up in the afternoon on NY Day it would have been an additional $26. $83 for one night and one day? Excessive. I agree the staff seems uninterested and can't comment on specifics of my dog's stay, only that she "did fine." As an aside, you are not allowed to look in the back where the dogs are kept and are discouraged from peeking over the fence to see your little one at play. My dog always smelled terrible when she came home from this place and they have often forgotten to bathe her at the end of the day (despite their $10 fee for a bath) and I have to stand there and wait for them to do it at the end of a busy work day. I can HIGHLY recommend The Little Doggie Daycare on Parker Road. It is a wonderful place with an open door to the doggie play area so you can see the happy pups running around. It is clean, the dogs look at ease and all have high wagging tails. Joanie obviously loves these little dogs, her prices are very reasonable and she writes me a nice report card on my dog's stay. She even makes a little personalized business card and magnet with a picture of your dog on them - cute! You can pick up and drop off anytime, no strange schedule rules that trap you in to paying more money. Give them a try! You won't regret it. read more

Digstown is great. We send our pup, PJ, here pretty much everyday. Pj has special needs, as a result of epilepsy, and the staff there is extremely accomodating. He has a complicated medicine schdule that they are always on top of. Jack is the manager and he is awesome, you can tell her really loves dogs and he's great at what he does. I have 100% confidence that while Pj is at Digs, he is very well cared for. I would recommend anyone to bring your dog here. A+ read more

I have been taking my dog since she was 4 months old and able to go to doggie daycare. I travel quite a bit for work and without Digstown, it would be very difficult for me to have a dog. I love the fact I don't have to "pay for play time" like most daycares as my dog loves to be outside as much as she can and playing with other dogs. I always laugh when I pick her up as she would much rather stay than leave because she has soooo much fun and loves the staff that watches after her. I trust Digstown more than some of my friends to take care of her!! read more

We've been taking our dog here for years and have never had any issues. They know our dog by name and she runs back whenever we get in the lobby. I definitely would recommend for daycare and boarding. I guess my only complaint is the bath option. It doesn't seem like much goes into it but who knows. I had gotten a few positive recommendations from people at work so I decided to try Digstown out for my 4 month old pup. The location was super convenient for me, even if they were a little pricey compared to other daycares. The initial free "interview" day was fine, front desk was friendly, they called in the middle of the day to give me an update, and when I picked him up he seemed tired but happy. His paws were a little tender from the gravel they use, but good day overall. The next consecutive visits were not as positive. Barely got feedback from anyone, and my dog was frantic to get to me when I came to pick him up (not a good sign). And although my dog's name is slightly androgynous, I constantly had to remind them it was a he, not a she. I was also off put by how closed off the facility was, you are even discouraged from looking over fence at the play area. I don't need to constantly monitor my dog with a live feed or anything during the day, but some transparency would be nice. On his third visit this past Saturday, I picked Kala up and he seemed tired as usual. When he got in the car I noticed he was panting heavily and gave him some water. Long story short he wound up at the emergency vet with mild heat stroke. I'm not sure what kind of doggie daycare lets a 4 month old puppy sit out in the heat to the point where he's vomitting, but that's what happened. Might be a different experience with older dogs, but please keep your puppy away from here. read more

Digstown used to be good but now I give them a big thumbs down based on poor service. I have my dog booked for a holiday weekend, and when I called they didn't mention any holiday fees. They called to confirm his stay and said 'they just decided to add a $15 holiday fee'. How convenient now that it is 4 days before the holiday and there is no way I can get him in anywhere else. Also convenient, they 'lost' my $26 credit that was on file. Oops! It's no longer in the system. And last time when I went to pick him up, the little high schooler at the desk called for him to come up front and immediately turned to the next customer. Without giving me any reviews of how his 5 day stay was, or a report card saying how he did. When I called to ask about this, they informed me I need to call in while he is staying there to get reviews. Which is really easy to do considering it always goes to their machine. I work in a customer service field and this would NOT be tolerated in my profession. I would love to hear any other recommendations of good doggie daycare as I am actively looking for a new place for my puppy. read more

I have to agree with Sandy T. review, as I experienced practically the same thing. A couple months ago, we go a new puppy and our other dog had been at digstown a few times. So I decided to put both of them in daycare for a day. . . Worst mistake of my life! Anytime my dog, now dogs, are away from home I call to have an update on how they are doing, as they are part of my family and are loved unconditionally. So I call during my lunch break so see how they are doing and they say everything is great, they're playful and that my older dog was protecting his baby brother and kind of smothering him, so they just seperated them so the pup could get a full experience of daycare. So I was happy with that. When I picked them up, another girl at the front desk, who I did not speak to over the phone, told me my older dog had at rough day. I look at her puzzled as I just called a few hours ago and did not get that response. She looked at me, a little scared and hesitant to continue talking and she told me that the older dog had to be muzzled for the entirety of the day because he was playing to rough but I could be reassured that they took the muzzle off for five minutes to drink and then out put it back on! And that's when I lost it, because I am against muzzles, "they had forgotten to tell me over the phone" is what she continued to tell me . I've had issues with them in the past when the same dog came home with bloody paws, regardless of the fact, they know to call me when anything happens with my dog. So I leave infuriated since a manager wasn't there and call the next morning to speak to the manager and am told he had to call me back. He called me back promptly and explained the situation and what procedures they take when dogs get out of hand. My question to him was why didn't they call to inform me my dog was acting out? If he was endangering other dogs' safety I would have come and taken him home in a heart beat! And his response to me was that they didn't think it was that big of a deal and they had it under control. I am sorry but I will not go back. You do not muzzle someone's dog without informing them first. I do give the manager props on controlling the situation with me however because I seriously was furious, and he held a professional demeanor the whole time and he was apologetic. read more

I didn't even get a chance to experience their service as I was refused service over the phone. They wouldn't even let me schedule a trial assessment appointment... they flat out refused me service over the phone without even meeting my dogs. Issue was, one of my dogs has special needs... he has lost most of the functionality of his back legs. But he's very easy chill and is very content to just hold down his bed all day and observe. But when he does want to get out and about, we have a state of the art wheelchair for him. For a doggy day care that touts that they specialize in catering to special needs, I was confused and very disappointed to be refused service point blank because they wouldn't consider boarding my special needs dog. The atmosphere the lady described sounds perfect for my dogs, and I kept trying to argue with her and let her know it was a perfect fit, but she just kept apologizing and leaving it at that. For a place that says exactly this (pasted below) on their website, I am very upset that we were REFUSED SERVICE!! From their website: DOES YOUR DOG HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS? If you pet is on medication, needs to be fed at a specific time or in a certain way, we'll take care of it and we don't charge any extra fees! We don't believe that you should have to pay more for your pet to be cared for in the same loving manner he/she would be at home! read more

as i type this i hear snoring...since i don't have a boyfriend at the moment it can only be coming from my dog (a dog who just spent the day no doubt spazzing out at digstown). i have been coming to digstown for (best guess) almost a year, with most frequently having visits 4x a week over the past few months. like a previous person mentioned, they call if there is an incident or if there is a visible injury (in my dog's case he practically has no fur and has sensitive skin so he's always showing scratches). this always makes my heart beat fast as i fear the worst, but that is just me being ridiculous...i know that digstown has my pup's best interest at heart and they love the big goofy blockhead that he is. they also were phenomenally flexible on the odd occasion i had to leave work late to go pick him up. hugely appreciated. each day i drop him off and watch him sashay towards the back to go meet up with his friends - not even giving a look back to me as he goes. as they say, actions speak louder than words. oskar blues gives all 4 paws up for this place! read more

Called to inquire about boarding my dog. Says on their website that if your dog had special needs, they will accommodate. I called and they wouldn't accommodate my needs. My dog doesn't do well in daycare after an attack by another dog. Well when I asked if my dog could skip daycare the answer was no. I don't think that is a very tough request. He just needa boarding, not daycare. I mentioned the special needs portion of their website and that they probably should remove that if they couldn't even accommodate a dog that didn't want to attend doggy daycare. So many great things to say! 1. My dog couldn't be happier to play here. 2. He comes home completely worn out! 3. They do the dry shampoo so he doesn't totally reek. Did I mention my dog loves it, and I know this bc we took him to another place in town and he didn't come out all excited, wasn't worn out from playing, and stunk horribly. The biggest and absolute worst thing was that night after the one day we took him elsewhere my boyfriend who's petty much his best friend:) went to pet him and he tucked his tail and cowered which he's never ever done and absolutely broke our hearts! The only reason we went to another place at all was bc my work location changed and digstown was way out of the way. However, after this experience I'm happy to drive from sloans lake to digstown then to DTC bc of the great care he's getting!!! I have a very energetic Golden Retriever that really enjoys going and staff enjoy him. There are a couple of staff people that used to work over at the old Doggie day care where Max was at. The staff do what your request and really enjoy there jobs. Mas is always happy to get there and tired when I take him home. WE love it!!! read more

Horrible experience here. My dog was bit in the ear and I was told by the manager, Jack, that, "if this was his dog, he wouldn't take him to the vet". My dog's ear became very swollen, hot and oozed puss so I put him on antibiotics. I was told the reason my dog was bit was because he slipped through the door into the big dog yard - and that they were worried he was a door dodger. I was also told my dog might do better with small dogs, might be good with big dogs, hmmmm doesn't do well when they switched it up from small to big dog in a day - I suggested my dog (a medium sized Frenchie) would do better with big dogs all day to be told no, he needed to be with small dogs to eventually banning my dog from the facility?!? And then calling me, a liar on the Stapleton Swap site while I was in search of better care for my now, "problematic/fight instigating" dog. Meh! Too much drama for me and my dog - and yes, they also muzzled my dog without my permission and he's brachycephallic!!! read more

I have been taking my Great Dane to Digstown for almost three years now and have had the best experiences. I try to take him once per week and I leave him there whenever I go out of town. He is always well cared for and completely tuckered out at the end of the day. I also love taking advantage of their $10 baths at the end of the day. There was one time he was playing with another dog and got a minor scrape. I was called immediately and the moment I got there to pick him up at the end of the day they showed me the scrape and told me what had happened. My dog went to Digstown for the second time last week. I had been going to another daycare but my dog came home full of energy - so I'm happy to report that my dog sacked out as soon as he got into the car after Digstown. I use daycare on days that I'm working from home or the weather is preventing me from running off enough of my dog's energy, so I want a tired, happy dog. I'm so pleased I bought a 10 pack of daycare! I also learned that they have several inground water features which will surely be used by my dog this summer! read more

I have been taking my dog here a couple times a week for about a year for daycare. He absolutely loves it! The front desk staff is nice and the GM has called me personally when I had concerns. It is a very large place and they usually have a lot of dogs there each day. My dog came home overwhelmed after a day he was there during spring break, presumably because there were so many dogs there (I think he was just overstimulated and a little stressed out). Every other time he comes home happy and tired. The pool is great in the summer so that the dogs can stay cool. They come home dirty but they offer baths at the end of the day for a very reasonable fee. Thanks Digstown! read more

Always friendly and professional at Digstown. Facilities are immaculate and I've never felt that the dog to worker ratio is high at all. Owners are reasonable and friendly people. My dog has never gotten kennel cough there (another reviewer mentioned it), and they are obsessive about keeping his shots up to date. But, really, if you take your dog to any kennel regularly, it is not shocking to find incidents of kennel cough now and then. It's not a serious issue like parvo would be, for example. So, to write a one star review because of kennel cough seems a bit excessive! K read more

I second the review below. They neglected my dog, who came home sick and sore. They responded sullenly to my complaint (definite need for Joyce to get some customer management training). The facility is gorgeous, though it does smell a bit (perhaps a sign of neglect, too). My dog is now in a more traditional setting with a warehouse atmosphere -- but the metal cages are absolutely clean and smell free, and provide genuine rest and privacy to my dog in between play periods in a well supervised outdoor area. He is not so tired when he comes home, and he has never come home injured as at Digstown. Two stars for the spiffy decor and the fact that my dog did have fun at Digstown -- but no more stars reflect lack of service sensibility and more concern for appearance than the welfare of the dogs. read more

We've taken our dog here for the past several years for periodic daycare and boarding and love it. The location is excellent for Stapleton and surrounding neighborhood residents. The staff know our dog by name when we walk in the door and have always followed directions we had for special care needs. Our dog swiftly follows staff at drop off--at other facilities he would wimper and hide behind our legs. He comes home tired and happy. read more

Highly recommend this doggie care. Just ask my OES Kona who is always leaping out of the car to get in when we arrive. Their "swimming ponds" in the summer are really a cool idea. They will also give away a spaw treatment in a drawing weekly as well as a bath whenever you want. They keep really detailed computer records of each dog's health record also so I can feel good about him not coming in contact with sick dogs unlike at a dog park. read more

I've been going to Digstown for about three yrs now. My dog Maya loves the facility and the staff. I thoroughly appreciate the staff who are all friendly and clearly dog lovers. What I love most, is that the staff knows Maya's name and call to her when we enter, which makes leaving Maya easy. After a day at Digstown, like yesterday, Maya comes out happy and smiling (no really, she smiles). We head home where I give her her dinner and then she's off to bed. I have in the past used them for overnight care and have been completely satisfied after her stay. Thank you Digstown for being a second home for my Maya. read more
