The customer service was deplorable and it's unimaginable to me how a department store expects to run like that when Macys and Nordstroms are killing it with customer service. My experience was as follows. Just after Xmas I went in to return an unopened box of fragrance. I was told by the customer service person that I needed a receipt despite the "proof of purchase" sticker on the bottom. I was confused but said ok. Then she unpackaged and opened the entire thing taking out the fragrance out. She then pushed it all back to me and said she wouldn't take it back. Why would she open it only to not let me exchange it? I sent in complaint to the website and a manager called to ask what happened. I told him I was not trying to get anything for free but was upset that not only could I not exchange it but now can't resell it because she opened it. He said he was sorry and would call me back to resolve the issue and that was 2 weeks ago. Why would I shop hear when Macys and Nordstrom's is 10 feet away? read more

I grew up shopping at Dillards in Dallas & Little Rock until 1996 when I moved to California. It was not until 2006 upon moving to LV that I was reintroduced to this department store. Sadly, I rarely shop at Dillards now. There was a time Dillards was the place to shop & be seen shopping. Not any more. While the store itself is essentially how I remember it as a kid, there are a few things that annoy me to no end. Let's start with Customer Service. The definition of Customer Service is NOT giving in to a demanding jerk of a customer & giving them what they think they are entitled to. It is about being friendly & assistive. It is about problem solving & coming up with solutions. It is about knowing the store policy and being reasonable in its application to THAT particular customer. It is about going above & beyond to help locate that hard to find item a customer has their heart set on buying. It is about being professional & doing your job. Unfortunately, with the attitudes our young people are raised with (entitlement, lazy, disrespectful), you'll not find Customer Service here. The employees are there to collect a check. They're not there to actually do any work. Is it any wonder when you ask for help, want to buy or return or exchange an item you're met with an attitude? This location is no exception to the rudeness that runs amok in our society. Management at Dillards has an obligation to train their employees in Customer Service, and if they don't perform, get rid of them. But they don't. They keep paying these people. The older employees with an actual work ethic see this & become infected by these younger employees to the point even they are useless. When will they realize when they have professional service oriented employees working for them, the sales will come? Sales people here are rude and can't be bothered, unless they're on commission (even then it's a half heart attempt). Dressing rooms are a SHAMBLES. The shoe department...total chaos & safety hazard, and that when a sale IS NOT in place. Departments are seriously overstocked, turning Dillards into a discount bin establishment instead of the classy department store I remembered it to be as a kid. No one here takes pride in their job. And the customer suffers. Furthermore, why are they giving 10% off discounts to TOURISTS, but not locals? Why this store only, but not Henderson or Summerlin? I'll tell you what this store IS good at. Harassment. You are endlessly followed under the guise of "needing help," if you are browsing. I was once followed from one side of the store to another by a rude, vile, vulture-esque sales woman because I told her I did not need her help. Yet she insisted on following me, asking me every time I browsed a rack or took interest in an item if she could help me. Bugger off. I have seen people followed because the assumption is they might steal. Sales people have told me as such or I've overheard their convos with each other or on the phone to security giving descriptions of shoppers who are "browsing." I'm sorry, but if the person you're following is carrying Tiffany, Saks, Louis Vuitton shopping bags, I'm pretty sure they're not stealing anything. But that's the feel of this store. Suspicious, even when trying to pay for something. Which is why I shop exclusively at Nordstrom next door. The employees there are snotty, but at least they're service oriented. The only time I've witnessed the employees here smile & be helpful is when they're flirting with customers & exchanging numbers. How sad is that? read more

Had a horrible experience here. And it was my first time at Dillard's. I had purchased something at the Origins counter. The two ladies who helped me were pushy and catty. They made several comments about products I might be interested to get my skin to look better since it looks like I use a lot of foundation. When I told them that I do not wear foundation, rather than apologizing they stared at my face closer and says "it looks like you do". Chose to take this as a compliment meaning I had nice skin. I was willing to overlook it because the product (the face serum) was so good, but all in all they could work on their people skills a little more. Got back the hotel, opened the box to use it- inside the package was a bottle of the serum with all the paint chipped off, and the bottle was empty. This thing was used to the max. Two days later I bring it back with the receipt, original packaging, everything. I wind up talking to a manager who I instantly know is going to give me a hard time. She asks me to wait 15 minutes until one of the Origins associates who helped me gets back from lunch. 35 minutes later (I have a show to catch!) I'm waiting at the Origin's counter. A goddess mystery woman from another counter comes over and says she'll do the exchange for me so I don't have to wait. The manager does not let her, and then lets me know they can't accept something in this repugnant condition back. She was pretty obvious about what she was insinuating: that I replaced the product I received with an old bottle of mine to try to get a new, free bottle. I mean, I would've understood if it was just policy holding her back from giving me a new bottle but it was her entire demeanor that was insulting. If she hadn't done everything but accuse me of replacing it, if she had seemed sincere about trying to help me and sorry that I received a piece of absolute crap then I might've been okay with Dillard's. No. In the end, the manager spoke to her supervisor who told me to give me an exchange or let me return it for credit back on my card. I returned it because my experience was so unpleasant that I didn't want to give them the business. I'd rather go out of my way to buy the product elsewhere. All I can say is that the polite, mystery cosmetics lady and the mean manager's supervisor were the only helpful people I encountered. And my horrible experience at Dillard's influenced my opinion of Origins. I know that not everyone has this same experience, but as for me I will not be returning to Dillard's. read more

The professional women's wardrobe selection is extensive: sizes, cuts, styles and colors. The store was organized and the dressing rooms were very clean. For their evening dress department only. I dreaded the task of searching for an evening gown in the Bay Area but I knew the hassle would be worth it since I'm going to be attending a sweet relative's wedding. I did my research and created a checklist of all the possible locations where I could find "the" dress. As you know ladies, finding "the" dress can be a grueling task, especially if you are looking for something specific. Being an easy going gal, I knew I couldn't be so picky but would be happy with a dress in the color family or style I was looking for. Anyway, here I am in Vegas on a mini vaca and the thought of why not check out the mall here for some potential dresses. I stumbled into Dillards evening gown department. This place is so much fun! From the aisle, the department doesn't seem big, but as you enter, it is pretty deep. I haven't seen a department this large for dresses in a long time. It's tempting to play fashion show or dress-up here. Being a quick shopper, I found a couple of dresses, tried them on and found "the" one. All in all, the dress search took about 15 min....that's gotta be a record! So if you're in Vegas, please pay Dillards dress department in the Fashion Mall a visit. Even though you may not have an occasion coming up, this is the town to wear an evening gown any day or time of the week. It's like wearing a sweater in the middle of summer in San Francisco. You can buy clothes anywhere now including from the comfort of your own home. The only reason large department stores still succeed is customer service. Dillard's has not figured this out & potentially has the worst customer service I've seen in any store selling anything. A simple return of three items seemed to be the worst thing anyone in the customer service department store had ever felt with, though every thing was done in accordance with store guidelines and directions. I was actually told they may not be able to even credit us back because they'd put the balance on a gift card & some of it had been used to purchase the correct item, as the initial clerk had instructed us to do and then the remainder would be credited to the card initially used for the purchase. Octavia in Customer Service had the worst people skills I've ever seen. It felt like she genuinely disliked us for even requesting her to help us by simply doing her job. This must be why Dillard's I believe, is facing bankruptcy, the interaction with the manager didn't feel any better, if anything it was equally confrontational as though they couldn't believe I was taking time out of their busy day by requesting service as a customer. I rarely go to Dillards. I'm more of a Macy's fan but sometimes I go to Dillards for a different selection. They have a horrible selection of clothing and the prices are not that great plus they don't have any sales. No coupons as well which is why I prefer Macy's Marshalls or Ross / Dillard's. This is why I only give them 3 stars. I've tried maybe a handful of times but can never find anything worthwhile buying there. read more

Dillards has a large selection at mostly reasonable prices and when they have a big shoe sale, make sure you well full body armor because some little chick is going to shank you if you get in between her and the size 5.5 6" heels she wants! LOL! If you are plus size, mixed reviews. I usually go to Macy's first and then to dillards because they have a very different selection. They carry 2 brands Macy's doesnt (nygard and Karen Kane) that I like and almost always have more dresses but the casual wear is kind of frumpy for my taste. Service in plus-size is almost always impeccable but I just learned my favorite person is retiring in a couple of weeks so we will see.... read more

I parked by an entrance to women's clothing. I get to the register and the lady working greets me and I said I needed to make a return, she said okay so I take the two women's shirts out of the bag and she said I had to go to the other side of the store specifically where they sell Vince Camuto. So I go over to the Vince Camuto section, no one was at the register, but a lady was working nearby so I ask her if she could please do a return, she was not friendly whatsoever and seemed annoyed she had to stop what she as doing to help me. So I take the shirts out of the bag with the receipt and tags and she looks at the receipt and then continues to start questioning me and being passive aggressive about why I'm returning the shirts. Super rude and unprofessional. People are allowed to return shirts that have the tags and a receipt to go with. I did go to customer service and let them know as well, where I also found out that the first lady I saw should've done the return for me and never had made me go to the other side of the store. I go to Dillards all the time but i won't be going back to this location, ever. read more

Under normal circumstances, I would never go anywhere near a store on Black Friday. But, we were in Las Vegas, strolling the Strip, when my husband's belt suddenly decided to break. He needed another ASAP lest his pants end up somewhere around his ankles (which, I'm sure, would not have been appreciated even in "what happens in Vegas" Vegas). Fortunately, we were reasonably close to the Fashion Show Mall, where we assumed we'd be able to find a better selection of belts for a substantially lower price than we'd likely find at the casino boutique shops. So, we made our way over. Our first stop was Macy's, the tried and true. Their men's dept did not have what my husband needed. He asked if they had a "Big and Tall" dept. "Yes," he was told, "but they do not have belts." WTF? So, we decided to try Dillard's. I'd heard of this chain, but neither of us had ever actually been in one before. We found the staff there to be very helpful -- directing us to men's, to belts, to "Big and Tall." (And, their "Big and Tall" dept actually saw fit to stock belts.) The sales person there provided great service -- helping my husband figure out what size belt to wear, removing the tag attached to the buckle so he could actually try the belt on, disposing of his old, broken belt once he had made his selection and purchased a new one. And, he even got an unexpected, 30% off, Black Friday discount on the price. As we have no Dillard's in my town (nor anywhere nearby), I can't say when I'll next be shopping there. But, as our experience there was a positive one, given the opportunity, I would certainly do so again. read more

I came to Fashion Show Mall one day on vacation with my mom. There aren't any Dillard's stores where we live, so we decided to check it out, as we love discovering new stores and places to shop! The first department that we stepped into was cosmetics/fragrance, as it was the one that leads right into the entrance/exit. They have a nice selection of products and brands -- I was impressed with the fact that they are a department store who carries Stila, one of my all time favorite brands that I can only find online or at Sephora. I thought that was cool. The next department over was of course, my favorite: shoes. In the corner of my eye, I saw the most gorgeous and colorful Steve Madden high heels that I knew I just had to try on, or else I'd regret it. My mom and I walked over and were absolutely googly-eyed over this specific shoe. Moments shortly afterwards, we were greeted by a shoe salesman named Dan, who brought us our sizes in the heel, and also brought out a sandal that I wanted to try on as well. Dan was very kind and helpful and made our shopping experience at Dillard's absolutely wonderful. Truly the best customer service I've experienced while shopping in a very, very long time. My mom and I love our new heels, as we each bought our own pair. I wore them later that night when I went to see Jersey Boys! I got many compliments on them and felt great wearing them with my favorite dress! Even better, I went into the Steve Madden store before we left the mall and saw the same heel in there -- I paid $109 for my heels at Dillard's, whereas in the Steve Madden store they're charging $130 for them!! That made me feel even better and love Dillard's a million times more because I feel like I got a great deal. The reason I gave four stars instead of five is because I didn't have time to venture off into the women's section to check out the clothes. I will most likely come back to the mall before I leave Las Vegas on Thursday. If so, I'll definitely be returning to Dillard's to check that out. Team Dillard's all the way! read more

Came in with my mom and future mother-in-law, deciding to peruse Dillard's after just being alright with David's Bridal selections for a Mother-of-the-Groom dress. I've gotta say that it's always been one of my favorite department stores in the Fashion Show Mall. Can't really go wrong with an organized, clean and highly stocked shopping environment. My future mom was also impressed with the level of customer service in the women's department (formal wear). Our main rep was Marie that continuously checked in on us, and made excellent recommendations. Should be obvious that she was extremely friendly too. To be honest, all the sales reps in this specific department were attentive and eager to help out. It's night and day if you compare these reps with those in the young adult section of the women's department - guess you'd call it "juniors?" The prices on these outfits my future mom was comparable to the other shop we checked out. To be more specific, I spent around $225 for her 3-piece outfit for our wedding. On select days of the year, though, when they further reduce their clearance merchandise, the store becomes a bargain hunter's bonanza. She is very knowledgeable with any brand you are looking for from uggs to Michael kors and all in between. I can be a very picky customer but she always makes my shopping experience easy and satisfying. I went to Nordstrom next door to refill an Angel perfume bottle. They were out of stock so they sent me to Dillard's as they also refill the same brand. Turns out the clerk at Nordstrom broke the pump valve in the lid when they too the cap off. The staff at Dillard's could not get the cap back on so they gave me a brand new 1.7 oz bottle in the box which Nordstrom was not willing to do. Not sure why, but every employee I've come across here has been rude, insulting, stuck-up, or all of the above. My worst experience so far was at the fragrance counter. I wanted to test out a new Chanel (my old ones were getting boring) and was hoping the sales person could give me a tester so I could see how the smell worked with my chemistry. She basically laughed in my face, said that Chanel doesn't do that because they're the best and they don't need to do it. Hmmm. Funny because if I had gone to ANY of the other stores in the mall for the same purpose, they would have happily filled a generic vial for me if they didn't have one already. Also funny because I've gotten plenty of Chanel fragrance samples before in order to make my decision. Maybe she's right though. Dillard's is utterly disgusting and trashy. The employees are unhelpful and not trained for their department. Even worse they pressure you into getting the in store charge card. I repeatedly told the sales associate that I did not want the in house charge card. I had to tell her no at least five times. I later found out that associates have to open at least one charge card per day they work or they receive a write up. I also found out that if they do not sell enough in a quarterly period they receive a 10% pay cut. How despicable! !!! read more

It's Dillards at the Fashion Show Mall so I thought my experience might be less ghetto than one of the other malls.... Not so much! Let's start with parking. I drive around and waited by two different vehicles people were getting into. The first lady must have fallen asleep once inside the car because there was no movement and no tail lights after the door closed. After a brief eternity, I decided to try again. Two ladies walking to a car. They first open the back of the car and start rifling through some bags. Then they go to the trunk and-more rifling. Then they decide to stop and have a deep conversation outside the car. By this point, I'm fuming but the place is packed, do I wait. Finally, the snot who is the driver of this car starts to escort her friend back to the walkway as if she isn't competent to find her way. Now I'm livid. Finally she walks back to the car and makes a five point turn to exit the space. But I digress.... Once inside the store, I headed to the ladies' dresses. They had a massive selection....for people size 10 and larger. I did find a dress that I didn't despise but I clearly needed a size larger than I found. Naturally, it was the last one so I decided I'd pick up Spanx and squeeze into this one rather than torture myself any longer. Off to shoes. I'm not a shopping fan so it did not thrill me that here too was a massive selection. I found two pair of shoes that looked perfect. I couldn't seem to get any hello even though employees were just standing around chatting about freeway directions. Finally, a young man did come help me. I received the first pair of shoes but he had yet to bring me the stockings to use for try-ons. I finally gave up on waiting and found them myself. The second pair of shoes were not available in anything other than behemoth size. The first pair was missing rhinestones on BOTH of the $80 shoes. I asked for another pair in my size but, alas, none were available. The young salesman gave a nervous smile and made a comment about small stones and glue not holding. I nearly made a comment about his stones but chose to quit while I was behind. I left the store extremely frustrated by my experience and was just thankful leaving the store was actually pleasant. read more

My sister and I were in LV on vacation and went shopping. We went here and found an open dressing room. It had clothes in it but we are used to that and thought it was ok to use. A few min later a knock on door and a ratty sales lady and a customer wanted in. I said we thought available and she just stormed in to get the ladies clothes and my sister just had a bra on!! I stood there with three shoes in my hands looking at the group of workers who were all standing around talking to each other and a few times they looked at me and continued talking to each other. Finally a guy came out from the back and helped me. The covered parking here is nice in the summer months. I actually enjoy shopping at Dillard's but I experienced something very odd at this location. I while back I entered the store from the Strip side of the parking area right into the mens department. On my way into the store a sales clerk was standing off to the right wearing sunglasses. Still I could tell she was glaring at me with a mean look on her face. This woman is probably 75 to 80 years old. I thought well she probably got drops in her eyes or something. So I continued on with my day. The next time I went to this Dillard's the exact same thing happened. I entered the same door and the same lady was standing in the exact same spot glaring at me with sun glasses on. After I left I realized what she was doing could be intentional. What is odd about this is that I usually wear my sunglasses indoors due to light sensitivity of my eyes. After doing some research I discovered mimicking is a form of harassment and that is the way I felt. So the next time I go in here I will update my review with additional findings. read more
