First time back since Covid. Just about only a sports bar, which is fine ( not for me). However the food is pretty much atrocious . Had the chicken quesadilla ...assume it was shredded chicken ( canned ?). Tasteless. No guacamole. No spices. The server was absolutely fantastic and deserves a raise. Their food used to be delicious? What happened...sports guys don't eat? Won't return and I really used to enjoy! And what's with the tv screens in every booth? In actuality would give 2.5 stars. Good service. Bad BBQ. For starters: only alcoholic drink menus; not everyone drinks but would like something besides water. Deep fried jalapeños gave me a false sense that this was going to be good. Pulled pork was decent. Brisket was terrible; tasted like they poured liquid smoke all over it and was over cooked. Baked beans were way too sweet. Didn't want two sides that were potatoes so asked for the vegetable that was asparagus and mashed potatoes. Asparagus was inedible. Yes it's a BBQ place but a good chef puts something else out with color that actually tastes good. And asparagus is amazing when spiced and butter are actually added. I think they microwaved it to be honest. In conclusion if we want BBQ again I'm sure there are more options in this big area. This place has their operations down to a science. The food was to die for and the service was impeccable. I ordered the beef ribs (I've discovered that very few places in the valley even have beef ribs) and the wife ordered beef tips, the food quality exceeded my expectations. Excellent take out service! Very impressed how everything was packaged! Ordered country fried steak with mashed potatoes and they put the gravy in separate containers so the crispy breading did not get soggy. Also the portion of gravy was huge (so was the steak!). The country fried steak was very tasty! Crispy and tender! Also, got the burnt tips which were excellent. Smokey, tender with a few crispy bits(ther best part). Also really impressed with the customer service. Had an entertainment book coupon that was for dine in only, but they let me still use it for take out! Even offered an ice tea to drink while I waited for my order. They are also doing a good job with covid safety precautions. Right when in walked in the hostess was sanitizing menus, wearing mask and gloves and had separate containers for clean and used pens. Last nice touch is they are taking donations to support 1st responders to offer them free meals in thanks for their service and keeping everyone safe!! read more

First of all I am so thankful that DILLIONS (Arrowhead) stayed opened during our crazy covid time, they made it easy to pick up food since I worked some crazy hours, as an essential worker, 5 stars on the food. Came into Dillions while in town from DC as I had been looking for a local place to eat that would be a one of a kind AZ place. Dillions was certainly that. Sat at the bar area and received absolute top notch from Eileen. Eileen was very patient and full of recommendations for food and drink. She recommended the Red Devil Pork sandwich, which was out of this world, and also took the time to craft some great cocktails that were full of flavor and hit the exact spot. Often I simple eat, drink and dip but between the lively environment and wonderful conversation from Eileen, I stuck around a little bit longer and tried a couple more drinks at her recommendation. Absolutely will be returning to this place next time I am in Arizona and if you have a chance to sit at the bar and receive service from Eileen, then you are in for a real treat!!! read more

My parents Like to come here, so I often meet them for lunch. This means free food for me, so the price is awesome. Service is always friendly, and the food is pretty darn good. This is a mainly a review of the bar. Food secondary as I drink here much more than I eat. First off, happy hour is good and lasts until 7. Good for us folk on the west side who can't make it back from our jobs in the big city until 6. Beer selection is ok. A few of the typical on tap and always something nice on the "guest" tap. I do have to say that the bar tenders are pretty tight on their pours of the hard stuff. Because of this I pretty much stick to beer at Dillon's. The bar is comfortable with a ton of TV. Many are new, nice, flat screens. Problem (BIG) is that they are not connected to HD. What??? Oh how I would love to watch NFL there. Fix the HD issue and you'll definitly have several more customers on Sundays. The BBQ is darn good. I do my own so am pretty picky. This also means a very rarely order it. They do a great chicken fried steak (and chicken). Fries are good. Gravy, both white and brown are good. This location is undergoing a big changing of the guard right now with two of their long time bartenders 5 months pregnant. The new girls definitely need some work but hopefully Carl, the very affable manager (did you try the velvet hammer yet?), will get them in line. I'll give it some time. The best thing that keeps me coming back are the bar specials. They are good all the time, as long as you are in the bar. They have a small order of onion rings for ONE DOLLAR. The onion rings are fantastic to boot. They also have Potato Peels for ONE DOLLAR. This is essentially are just what they say they are, the peels of the potatoes they use for their mashed potatoes. I'd give them a 5, but have to take off for the outdated decor. Food is great, but the hunter green walls alone scream "Update me!" Went there Friday for the first time. I'm not a big BBQ fan, but my husband saw Burnt Ends on the menu and hasn't had them for a really long time, so we gave it a shot. I had the pulled pork with the mild sauce and was pleasantly surprised. He sampled the Burnt Ends, ribs and pulled pork with the Cajun sauce. Ribs were just okay; nothing to write home about. Mashed potatoes and brown gravy were really good, and so were the other two entrees he had. Good variety, two side dishes with your entree, and they even brought us samples of the sauces to taste before we ordered. Warning to kids: it's real Mac and cheese, baked with Parmesan and bread crumbs on top. My daughter thought it looked to foreign to eat, but we thought it was very tasty. The brownie sundae was good, not great. Brownie definitely tasted store bought. We'll go again - maybe to another location. Definitely felt more like Sun City than Arrowhead. read more

Ok, I understand the confusion with the phone ringing, people waiting to pick up their orders, two tables FULL of orders sitting in white bags and no one handing them out because they are taking orders over the phone, but come on! There's no excuse for the kitchen sending food out RAW. My husband got the cod platter with steak fries and when we got home, I had to finish it all in the convection oven, trying to cook the RAW BATTER on the underside of all the cod! The fries were limp and so undercooked, they were still mostly white! Geez, over $35 for our meals and I had to cook anyway! Dillon's, get it together. You are better than this. read more

I fully realize that these times make for unique challenges. However these times should not allow establishments to victimize their clients with poor food. This takeout is favorable to places like Dillon's as by the time most customers realize what garbage they were served, they're home and won't return it. I would have sent back one sandwich without a second thought while refusing both orders of fries. Be interesting to see if this 'local' establishment lasts after the way they treat customers who are trying to be loyal in these times. We've been going to Dillon's Arrowhead for years and had been quite happy with their food/service. Enter the Covid period. We ordered their carryout for pickup. One item was in, the other was not. OK, I can accept that. However their online menu is a joke when trying to read it fast to find a replacement item. The second item was an usual choice in their BLT. Well, we picked it up and took it home. The first dinner was acceptable but in far smaller portions than usual despite the price being the regular price. The BLT definitely had far less bacon, not even close, than what they use to. Apparently dillon's felt they could make up the lack of bacon with more lettuce which they abundantly piled on. The "T" must have stood for "TO WISH" for tomato as tomato was MIA on the sandwich. As for their french fries, their cook needs to learn that reheating fries by redipping them in the oil only makes the fries sponges and soak up oil like you wouldn't believe. We will not avoid Dillon's after this thing is over but will definitely be cautious and may only do drinks and live bands for a long time to come. read more

We have been going to Bobby Q's but found the quality of food for the price was lacking in the last couple years so we tried Dillon's and was beyond surprised on how great the food was as well as the price. We had the beef ribs which was $30.00 for 7 huge ribs with good portion sides. But truly what made our evening was Josh our waiter he was great very professional and new exactly what we wanted. My family is from KC Mo so Dillons is the ONLY bbq "joint" for me...but the best reason for visiting often (and my husband and I have worked our way through their entire menu) is Kelly Willis. She is the ultimate professional bartender, but a top notch server as well -- who can handle the whole bar area if need be. Remembers my order before I place it, and my favorite beverage on the way. Kelly does a lot of community service as well, which more than fits the Dillons philosophy of "community". People usually comment about certain places saying they are going downhill as a negative review, I would say the same about Dillon's but that would imply they were on the hill to begin with. The food was terrible the service was terrible the environment is old and outdated and desperately needing a renovation. In the Phoenix metro area the restaurant business is extremely competitive and for this business to be stuck in time...it is a sign that they will not be around for long.
