No wait for a table on a Thursday for dinner. The pond as you enter from the front is awful. It is dirty and ugly. This is a sports bar and not a place I will bring my wife again for a nice dinner. Service - we were seated right away. We called ahead which helped our party of 5. Our server was personable and on top of things. Ambiance - it was busy but not overly loud. They had Thursday night football playing and just felt very relaxing Food - presentation was great for all dishes. There definitely was enough food served. I had the grilled chicken sandwich that included fresh lettuce, tomato, pickle and red onion. My wife and I stopped for some cold drinks and sat at the bar. Within a few seconds the female bartender greeted us with a very inviting smile. She was very patient with my wife because she kept changing her mind... I think that's a female thing . She immediately grabbed me a beer and mixed my wife her drink. As the night went on, and a few more drinks went down, we complimented the bartender on how awesome she was in making sure we were not without drinks. That's exactly what we wanted. Food tasted okay, but not great. Service was slow and portions were small especially considering the price. Puny, overcooked $18 burger. We had a party of 8 but split the bill, so it was really just 2 parties of 4. Waitress gave us the bill and added a healthy 22% tip to each bill because we were a "large" group. We were just 2 tables of 4 in actuality. The place wasn't busy either so I didn't understand the slow service, but she got a great tip regardless so there's no reason to try harder next time. Have been going to this Dillon's regularly for years... I absolutely love the onion rings, and the burnt ends. I dont believe that i have ever had bad food at this place! I specifically like that the beers on tap are REALLY cold! Many places have "cold" beer, but Dillon's is always REALLY cold. The other great think about this place: THE SERVERS!! Kallie is fantastic!! She is always very attentive and makes sure that i am happy, and am not waiting for help.... We had stopped inand shared a few appetizers. The pulled pork sliders had lots of meat and nicely toasted buns. The meat had a nice smoky flavor but was a bit dry. The big issue I have is that they have two different prices- one is for cash payment and the other is for a credit card payment. As if the prices aren't high enough already! Have been wanting to try this place for some time. The opportunity arose to catch the Football games. The aquarium was cool. But there are no TVs in the main dining room. So we moved into the sports bar area. Flamingo's are nearby this area. Among items ordered were, a Pretzel , Mozzarella sticks, Arizona Chilli, Brontosaurus Rack of ribs, Half Chicken BBQ. Baked beans. The appetizers were fine. Hard to ruin those. The Chilli was good, interesting take on including rib tips. But lacked true flavor, basically needed salt. Kind of chain food bland. The Brontosaurus were most disappointing in that you needed a chain saw to separate them. The were not "fall off the bone" good. In fact, the were just ordinary, no flavor. The star of this meal was the baked beans. They were packed with flavor. Too bad the BBQ flavor of the beans wasn't passed onto the other items. We took the ribs home with us, put them into a slow cooker, added more BBQ sauce and "tada", they were fall off the bone. See that's all that is needed. A little more time and tender care. Not sure I'll be back. I can get the same fare at AppleBee's. I can see this place as being a hit or miss. This time it was a miss. read more
