We have been to this restaurant twice - once when they first opened and once last week. The first time we went at dinnertime, the food was hot, the pita bread was fluffy and warm, and the service was great. The second time was a VERY different experience. We went there to celebrate my dad's birthday. There were 9 of us in the group. I called ahead and the hostess explained that the lunch rate was only good until 4:30 on Friday and that they start charging the dinner rate after 4:30. The lady I spoke to said "you have to be done by 4:30". No problem. Eight of us arrived at 3:40 and we were finished eating by 4:25. One person in our group was running late, but he was still planning to make it there so we waited for him. Overall the food was not warm and the bread appeared to have been sitting there for a while. I could not even open the pita bread - it was stuck together. I ended up getting a few salads, yogurt dip and chicken soup, but not very much of anything else on the buffet. I tried one of the kufta (ground beef) and the gyro, but both were cold. I went to the front at 4:25 to pay for lunch for the 8 of us since we were done eating and 1 person at the dinner rate since he was not arriving until 4:30 (9 people total). The lady at the front said "No, you cannot have another person join you and eat. You have to leave or pay the dinner rate for everyone" ($11 difference per person x 8 people). I've never been to any buffet or standard restaurant that makes you LEAVE as soon as you pay. Other buffets I have been to charge you based on the time you arrive. We had been there less than an hour and the restaurant was empty so it's not like they were trying to turn over the tables quickly. I explained that the person who I spoke to earlier told me you pay the lunch rate as long as you are "done" by 4:30 and we were all done, but we wanted to wait until our other family member had a quick dinner before leaving. Part of a great restaurant experience is sitting around with your group after dinner and chatting with family/friends and digesting your food for a bit. I assured her none of us would be eating anything else from the buffet and she could clearly see if one of us got up to get food because our table was in front of where you go to pay. She then said she would call the manager to ask if our other family member could have dinner while we waited. After 10 minutes, she told us the manager said we had to leave or pay the dinner rate for all 9 people. The last person from our group arrived at 4:35 and we told him he could not eat since we would have to pay an extra $88 for all of us + the $31 dinner rate for him. I went ahead and paid the lunch rate for 8 of us and then our group got up to leave. As we were exiting, the hostess said the manager called back and said it was ok for our family member to have dinner and we would not have to leave after all. A little too late. Not a great way to treat customers who are there to celebrate a birthday with family. If you read the recent reviews, this has happened to a few other customers. read more

The food here was a masterclass in disappointment. The stuffed grape leaves were canned and managed to insult both cans and grape leaves in the process. The Mansaf meat had the texture of a flip-flop, the rice was a soggy disaster, and the sauce was so bland it barely qualified as food. The chicken thighs were dry enough to strip paint, and the fried chicken was equally unremarkable, a sad failure of even the simplest dish. Walking in starving, I was ready to enjoy a meal based on a family recommendation. Instead, I left hungry because the thought of enduring a second plate was unbearable. At $30, this was nothing short of robbery. The quality wasn't worth even $15 on a good day, and it's baffling they charge that much for such poor execution. Anaheim has plenty of Arab/Mediterranean restaurants serving exceptional food at better prices. This place feels like a cheap imitation trying to pass itself off as premium. Two stars are given out of sheer politeness, but even that feels like an overstatement. Eating here is an overpriced exercise in disappointment. read more

I'm not sure why the bad yelps are for. This place is amazing it is literally open everyday for buffet no other Mediterranean place has that. The food is amazing so many options to choose from. The place is self serve and when you're done eating there is a Busser that comes around and cleans the plate off the table. First visit to this Dimassi's Mediterranean restaurant in Anaheim today for lunch. Upon entry, the venue immediately catches your eye with its bright white-themed modern decor. There is ample seating inside and is very clean and properly maintained. There is a long counter with many trays of Mediterranean cuisine from salads, different hummus, rice, breads, pizza, lasagna, stuffed grape leaves, several types of chicken and a single lamb-based entree. Around the corner you will find a self-serve beverage station with Pepsi products, unsweetened ice tea and coffee. A small selection of ice cream and desserts are present as well. Overall, the food was very well prepared and quite fresh. Nothing seemed to be stale or leftover from yesterday. The only disappointment was that being a purveyor of Mediterranean food, a larger presence of lamb entrees was expected dropping my Yelp rating from 5 to 4 stars. Wow, I wanted so bad to love it as the place looked clean and had a lot of variety of food. Unfortunately, other than a few items. Like 4 items. Everything else was mediocre. Unfortunately, I tried all the deserts and most taste like a lemon cleaning solution. Not sure if they rinsed the equipment before making the deserts but they left a cleaning solution taste in my mouth. Love the concept and the eating area. Needs more focus on the food taste. Great Mediterranean buffet restaurant that delivers on quality, choice, value and atmosphere. The salad and rice choices to complement the chicken and lamb are endless. They don't always have the featured food that you expect. Ambiance in Anaheim Hills restaurant is 100 times better than the Downey location. Downey location was dirty and crowded. Desserts were left a mess. I won't go back there. If you are very hungry and like Mediterranean food, the Anaheim Hills location is worth checking out one time. This is our first time trying (there was 5 of us total who went today 2/24/25) at first the food was pretty good not too bad! Great selection, but after a second plate we started to feel a bit, woozy, and a bit sick to our stomachs. We didn't want to be rude so we wrapped up our lunch together and by the time we were leaving, each one of us had to excuse ourselves to the restroom and... were either throwing up or going.. diarrhea which is embarrassing to say. We brought our concerns up to the manager only to be ridiculed, embarrassed and straight up disrespected. We were called liars! Very disappointing. After having visited the Cerritos location a few times for work lunches, I couldn't wait to take my wife here. I'll never do that again. While there is a large selection of food, all of the hot dishes were cold. This went right along with the freezing temps inside. Because the food was so cold, the taste was pretty disgusting.
