Like many others, I was curious to find out what this restaurant was all about. That location has been a couple of different Tex-Mex restaurants beforehand, both of which failed. Dimassi's completely gutted the interior and made it so ugly. It's definitely stark and cold. Hospital cafeterias have more warmth and soul than this place. The food is very mediocre, at least 1/3 of it is Indian or fake Texan or something else other than Mediterranean food, and it is expensive for what you get. read more

I heard lots of good things but hmmmm....No likey so much. I can't believe there are raves about the Pita. To me it tasted like they used Wonder Bread dough...The stuffed grape leaves was a whole lotta leaf and not much else. Baba Ganaush was watery..blaaalch. Pros: Delicious food, fast service (buffet duh!), delicious food, great variety, delicious food, truly authentic Mediterranean and last but certainly not least...delicious food! Seriously I can't express how good it is. Don't be fooled by the real estate and décor, this place is cannot be passed up. I could eat their food every day and not get tired of it. Cons: Labeling on half the items was not there or wrong which makes it scary yet intriguing to try new things. The rose water is good but too sweet for me, I watered it down with green tea and that fixed that. My biggest complaint is the price for a buffet in this part of town! I'm not broke but I'm not rich. Dimassi's is one of our regular go-to places, especially when with a group because there is all kinds of food for everyone to enjoy. I'm a huge fan of pretty much all their food, and especially their fresh from the oven bread, falafel, garlic sauce, and hummus. We used to come here when it was run by the old management, and man has this place improved so much since then. The food is fresh, there are numerous options, and it's consistent every time we've come. I hope they keep up the good work. Man, when I first discovered this spot I was over the moon. I came from Michigan where the authentic middle Easter cuisine is flowing. It's like the BBQ of the mitten state. I LOVE me some well made tabbouleh and hummus. I had tried everything close and claiming to be Mediterranean and none of it was even decent. I happened upon this spot by accident. The first few times I went it was AMAZING!! The tabbouleh was juicy and the hummus creamy and they have garlic sauce and everything else!! All for a low buffet price. Not to mention fresh pita! So amazing, I was in heaven. My boyfriend and I became regulars and for a month or two all was tasty and amazing. However, the last couple of times I noticed the quality seemed to take a real dip. The tabbouleh was dry. The hummus was almost watery and had a weird flavor. The meats and hot table were like warm at best. I thought maybe this was a fluke. We went there recently and it seemed even worse. I don't know if the recipes have changed or the ingredients aren't as fresh but something is off and it's a total bummer. It was almost inedible. I probably won't be back, unfortunately. I don't want to take a gamble on spending my money on food that doesn't impress. I Hope I can find a new spot soon. Super sad. read more

Without a doubt the worse place I have ever eaten at. The stuffed grape leaves hadn't finished thawing and were ice cold. Yes, they were obviously a frozen food item. As were other things on the buffet. I didn't eat much; one bite was about all I could handle. Several dishes had a strange under flavor. I couldn't place it but for some reason it reminded me of a nursing home and that is not good. I assure you that I am not exaggerating when I say I would not eat here again if I were paid. We really like this place. We usually bring my parents who are in their 80's. They love it! The food is always hot and delicious and that goes a long way with me. I hate luke warm food. They also have a lot of protein choices which I also love. Unfortunately since we eat here at lunch, we never get to have the lamb shank but everything else is good. My daughter loves the baked fish, and she is not a big fish eater. The last time we were there the fried chicken legs were apparently awesome as well. (I didn't have any, I was too full). The fresh hot pita is a major plus, the baklava is great. There is a large selection of both hot and cold. I don't like every dish but that's ok, since I manage to get stuffed anyway. The food is SO good!! If you love Mediterranean food, this is your dream come true. They always have fresh pita bread and baklava. They charge you when you're leaving so if you come in at the end of lunch, you may pay the dinner price. (It's only a dollar more though.) Tonight was my first time eating at dimassi's. I loved it! The food was so good, freshly made, great tasting. Like others have said, the lamb shank is excellent. A gentleman who works there named Obi was a really nice guy. He helped out when I spilled balsamic vinegar and he grabbed me something to clean my shirt.
