I will not be visiting Cava again. My last few visits have not been the best, but this time in particular the experience was unacceptable. This location is supposed to be open until 11 p.m. and I showed up at 10:20 p.m., a full 40 minutes before closing and found the whole kitchen and store to be already shutting down leaving myself and remaining customers with the old and hardened scraps left over. There is no reason why a food establishment should be closing down 40 minutes early, terrible management. On top of that, the salmon I got was hard as a rock and smelled awful because it was clearly old due to the kitchen being shut down before I arrived, meaning they were serving old batches of protein. Then to top it off, when I asked for a refund, they told me the manager wasn't around so I would have to come back the following day to initiate a refund...all that after already wasting my time trying to eat here and then being left at 10:40 p.m. to find another place to eat. There are two options for pickup - by walking to the restaurant or drive through, I chose the restaurant pickup. Bowl has plenty of filling like saffron white rice, black lentils, roasted veg, falafel, hummus, feta, pickled onion, tomato+ onion, cabbage slaw, Persian cucumber, shredded romaine, pita crisp, skhug and also came with pita. I think, next time I would opt for going in person and making my bowl over there. That way I can control the quantity little better - like more veggies and less rice. Sauce on the side were also good. Please note that there are two CAVA location in this proximity so don't get confuse. One in domain and other in arboretum. This was my first time to Cava at the Domain or any Cava for that matter. I chose the chicken and rice bowl and my friend chose a pita sandwich. Ordering was pretty straightforward. My chicken and rice bowl was good. However, when I let the cashier know they were out of forks in the utensils container, she said that they were out of knives for the restaurant. Thus, I had to go to my car to get a plastic knife out of my car, which I carry for unexpected needs for utensils. The drink area was completely sticky where I had to wipe my sandals off twice. The place itself is super nice, also the people who take the orders are super friendly and the food did not disappoint. Picked up an online order. They forgot two of our items. No problem, just asked for them at the window again after first person walked away. Was given the missing items. Got home, the food was inedible. The rice was burnt, It was so hard and crunchy, impossible to chew, got stuck all in our teeth. It's wild to me that anyone would rate Cava as less than 5 stars. Sticky floors? Never seen them. Lack of flatware? Not here. I'm sure everyone has their bad days but they're definitely not the norm based on my visits. I never have to wait when I order ahead, but you can also hit the drive through if you don't even want to leave your car. Tons of parking, easy in and out, and a bright, airy dining room if you want to sit and stay a while. Love their refreshing drink options, so much so that I've been known to order just cucumber lemonade and pita chips, which I swear are seasoned with crack. Ridiculously good for being just fried pita wedges, with or without additional spicy seasonings. Sure, the falafel sucks, but I don't come here for that. I love cava but my experience today was not good. I ordered online around 1:30 for a 2pm pickup. I arrived at 2pm and didn't get my food until 2:15. They were also out of broccoli, red onions, and 2 kinds of dressing: cucumbers and garlic. I ordered red onions on my bowl but nobody told me that they were out of them, I only knew they were out because I heard someone at the cash register tell another customer. It would have been nice to at least hear that they were out of something I ordered, as well as maybe a free pita chip or drink given to me in replacement. Overall, not a great experience!! I stopped by for a really late lunch (it was almost 5pm lol) and it was packed...perhaps everyone in line also had skipped lunch due to fervent shopping at the Domain, but crowds at that hour still seemed peculiar to me. It took forever for my simple bowl to be made, but eventually I was able to see it make it to the finish line that is the cash register. I was put off by the number of large cabbage cores and gristly bits of meat that I encountered, so a little more quality control would be helpful. I'm so happy I got to try Cava. I built my own bowl with a salad and rice base, some chicken, veggies, and sauces - everything in the bowl tasted fresh. I saved a portion for lunch the next day, and it still tasted great. This location is in The Domain, but that's a bit misleading. It's about a mile walk from the shops in The Domain. This location did have a ton of indoor and outdoor seating and the restaurant had open windows, which was nice because the weather was 85 degrees outside. The line moves fairly quickly, and it took us about 10 minutes to build the bowl and start eating. I'd love more Cava locations to open up back home. read more
