I absolutely alive Mediterranean food and have been to many very delicious places but I always wanna try everything on the menu and when I found a buffet I knew I had to go! When you arrive the hostess is always super friendly and smiling they let you sit and pay after. They have plenty of seating and the variety of items they offer is great. The line starts with fresh salads but the top is the most delicious tabouli salad! They put out fresh hummus, pita bread and if you are a fan of lamb they have lamb (not mine but my mom said it is the best). They have garlic sauce and yogurt, which is my favorite to pair with the chicken and rice with lentils! The place is really clean they have staff that goes by and picks up your plates and the general appearance is clean and inviting. They have self serve drink option from tea, coffee and fountain drinks. Last but not least they have the best baklava I'm not sure if they also make that fresh in house but it is a nice way to end the meal! The price is very affordable for being a buffet and having as much freshness as they do!
The food overall was pretty good. I think that the gyro could have been thinner, a bit thick for me, would still eat it though. They sort of got an Indian mix in their buffet, the problem is that the curry is watered down, and the chicken over done or too loose. Luckily I'm not here for the Indian food. The grilled veggies was the real star of the show, I can't wait to go again to try their greens, but since there's that recall I'm playing safe, looked amazing though. The lamb was tender and great, although it's one shank per person there is a lamb rice dish on the buffet line and you can get more lamb meat. The beef kebab is pretty standard and the rose water is uniquely good. Although I did water mine down a little to reduce the sweetness. The desserts are great, usually the fruits at buffets aren't sweet but these were! The pasteries felt like it was Greek restaurant grade. Would come here again when I'm in the area, the price is great if you typically can eat two plates - cost of plates nowadays are too much elsewhere.
Overall, had a pleasant experience at Dimassi's! Most of the food was flavorful and was good quality overall for a buffet! My favorite items were the gyro, lamb shank, beef kabob, the different hummuses and the rice pudding. Service was good, the bussers came around pretty frequently to clear plates out of our way. There is plenty of seating inside the restaurant. Had a good amount of people on Sunday night but wasn't fully packed. Would recommend!
I'm usually weary of buffets and only go in Vegas, but I really like this one! The buffet section itself is smaller than what you'd expect, but that's not a problem at all, especially if you love Mediterranean food. Every dish is genuinely good instead of the usual mediocre spread. The space is simple and clean, and it's clear they put real care into keeping the food stations tidy and well presented. The lineup is mostly meats and veggies, plus a great salad bar (no boring iceberg and romaine here). A fun touch: ring the bell and they'll bring you a fresh lamb shank, it's how I always start my meal. There's also a solid rotation of chicken, lamb, fish, and rice dishes. We're usually seated right away, and it never feels overcrowded, which makes navigating the buffet line easy. Only downside is there's just one person bussing tables, so things can pile up. We try to help by clearing our own plates when it gets full. Overall a great spot for quality Mediterranean food. Just wish there was one closer to us!
Buffet Lovers May Enjoy This One, But It Wasn't Quite Our Flavor Hubby and I were on the hunt for a new spot to try and stumbled upon this Mediterranean buffet while browsing Yelp. First things first -- plenty of parking in the plaza, so no need to circle around hunting for a spot. We arrived around 3:30 PM, and since weekday lunch pricing is $21.99 per person from 11 AM-4 PM, we were pleasantly surprised when the hostess kindly allowed us to stay through the transition until 4:30 PM before dinner pricing kicked in. That was definitely appreciated! The ambience is what you'd expect from a buffet: open, spacious, and filled with plenty of tables for larger groups and families. Now onto the food... One thing I really enjoyed was the impressive selection of appetizers and dips. There were several varieties of hummus including spicy hummus, avocado hummus, baba ghanoush, along with a sauce station featuring tahini, tzatziki, and garlic sauce. If you're a dip-and-spread person, you'll probably be pretty happy here. They also had multiple rice options and a variety of proteins. Most of the selections consisted of different styles of chicken, along with fried fish and grilled fish. I believe the lamb shank is only offered during dinner service or on weekends, so unfortunately we missed out on that. As for the food itself, this is where the experience became a little mixed for us. While there were certainly a lot of choices, many of the dishes felt surprisingly similar, and overall the food lacked the bold Mediterranean flavors we were hoping for. Most items were fairly mild and a bit bland for our taste. Nothing tasted bad, but very little stood out enough to make us want to go back for seconds. For dessert, they offered baklava, pistachio rice pudding, and a few other sweet treats, which was a nice way to end the meal. Service, however, was excellent. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, so I'd easily give the service 5/5 stars. Overall, I landed at 3 out of 5 stars. I appreciate the buffet concept, the variety, and the wonderful service, but for hubby and me, flavor is king. Unfortunately, the food just didn't have enough seasoning or wow factor to make us want to return for a second visit. If you're looking for a Mediterranean buffet with lots of options, it may be worth trying once and deciding for yourself. Happy eats!
As a buffet, I consider Dimassi's in Cerritos a game changer. This is a Mediterranean themed buffet that's only $22 before 4pm on Monday through Friday. For dinner on the weekdays it's only a few dollars more ($29). On weekends it's $33 all day. I mention the price because I consider it a no-brainer for a weekday lunch. I agree with the criticism that the protein options can be limited. You aren't going to be getting filet mignon kabobs for lunch. But their chicken options, their fried fish filet, and their gyro meat is not bad. If you are looking for the premium kabobs, there are many Mediterranean options in the area that you can get that. What makes this place truly worth it are their delicious salad options, their warm, house made pita bread, their abundant options of spreads (hummus, baba ghanoush, garlic sauce). The multiple options for mediterranean salads are really what I crave from here. For $22, if I can have a multi course meal featuring 4-5 types of refreshing salads, fish filet, warm pita with hummus, a gyro (assembled on your own with their ingredients), a soft drink, and baklava. Considering the fact that I spend $16 on a combo meal at Carl's Jr or a salad wrap at Sweetgreen, this is truly a no brainer. If you do come here for dinner ($29-33), know that you can special order their braised lamb shank. I like to eat this with the pita bread, some roasted veggies, and one of their delicious spreads, but you do what you like.
I stopped by Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet in Cerritos for a brunch-style meal. For a buffet, the price didn't seem too expensive at first, but after eating, I didn't necessarily feel like it was an amazing value for what I had. To be fair, I went on a weekend, so I paid the highest price. I could see this place being a much better value during weekday lunch. The inside was very clean, which I appreciated. One thing that felt a little awkward was the service setup. There didn't really seem to be servers inside, and you pay when you leave, so I wasn't completely sure how much tip made sense. I noticed they even had a 10% tip option, so I'm guessing they know the setup can feel a little unclear. The food overall was clean and decent. It felt like they had pretty much everything you would expect from an American-style Mediterranean/Middle Eastern buffet. Nothing really stood out as especially amazing, but there was a good variety, and most of the food gave me that "this is probably healthy" feeling. I'd consider coming back if I were with friends who really like Mediterranean food.
This was our first time at DiMassi's. Our Bank Manager in Huntington Beach who is also a foodie recommended this back in August and we finally got to visit. This is Cafeteria style so upon entry find a table in either dining area and then head to the line grabbing a tray and making your way down the assorted goodies. Really good choice of Mediterranean cuisine with kabobs, four types of chicken including the delicious and off the bone DiMassi's special roast chicken; three different hummus options, pita bread being made fresh in front of you and baklava and two other desserts. The Tabouleh and salads were really good. Love that they had coffee and sodas included in the price. The lady at the front who was the greeter, Manager and cashier was tremendous as was the sweet lady inside picking up the stacks of dishes. This would have been a five star experience but for the fact that mass produced dishes here including the rice, the kabobs, the hummus, even the baklava tasted just standard and not stand out. The exceptional exceptions were the DiMassi's chicken and the Tabouleh. It was $23.50 for lunch which was not bad as drinks and dessert were included. Lots of parking in the front. I am definitely going to come back and try their dinner options and look forward to a five star extravaganza.
Great food quality for the price - their lunch pricing at $21.99 is quite a deal. Dinner at $28.99 is also great too. In addition, at dinner only, each person can order one lamb shank - just this piece of meat alone is worth your $28.99 visit. The restaurant food section is maintained very cleanly, food is beautifully displayed for a self-serve buffet restaurant. Plenty of seating area with ability to accommodate larger parties, and feels family friendly. The only shortcoming they have is that their fruit section tastes consistently unappealing, and some of the desserts don't tastes too great either. But at least their main dishes taste good. Regardless, this is a regular lunch spot frequented, and would bring friends over for dinner here, if they ever feel like Mediterranean.
Great buffet option -extremely clean and well run. The staff were good about removing any dirty dishes and silverware. All the food was fresh and pretty healthy. The rose water was also unique and refreshing. So much variety. The chicken soup was especially warming and savory. Highly recommend!
Came here with my family and we all loved it! It's self-service, which makes it easy to build your own plate with whatever you want. They have a great selection fresh tabbouleh, grape leaves, creamy dips, mixed grills, and more. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The ambience is pretty chill, and since a lot of people stop by on their lunch break, the place doesn't feel empty or lonely. We'll definitely keep coming back and highly recommend it!
This is my favorite sit down spot to hit my protein and eat healthy after a good workout! I love the variety of food and the service is awesome! From the front desk to even the sweet cleaning lady, everyone welcomed me with a smile. There are so many veggies, proteins, sauces, and even fruit and baklava for dessert! This place is great bang for your buck. A piece of baklava is already $4 at any other restaurant and this place lets you get as much as you want?! I have always wanted to try this place as soon as I heard about them opening up, but it was always packed! The room where the buffet was pretty warm compared to the side room where it was absolutely FREEZING. The inside and the buffet was also really clean, the white LEDs add such a modern look. The restrooms are GORGEOUS. There are so many options of fresh salads, meats, rice, hummus, you name it! I first loaded up a lot on the fresh salad and hummus options. My absolute FAVORITE was the roasted vegetables towards the end of the buffet line. I love to grab a little bit of everything on my plate as I am an absolute foodie and love to try new things. The lamb shank is a MUST. You get 1 included in your buffet, and have to pay an additional $14.99 if you would like another. So much meat on the bone and the meat was SO tender! The desserts had a minimal options, which most of them had a rose water/rose taste, which is not my personal preference as they are too strong in floral flavor for me. The fresh fruit was a nice option to end the night. Something I have NEVER heard of was you pay AFTER your meal! I will be coming back to enjoy more delicious Mediterranean food for dinner. Would highly recommend to anyone and in such a prime location inside the Cerritos Towne Centre.

I finally made it to Dimassi's and I was pleasantly surprised. AYCE Mediterranean food? Yes please. I got there when it opened so everything was clean, tidy, and ready to go. They had a big variety of hummus, dips, salads, meats, and lots of different chicken options. The price for an AYCE buffet with such a variety was great. The pita bread was warm but just okay for me. If you didn't eat it quickly, it got hard pretty quickly. Overall, the food was good. Nothing extraordinary but all good. I will say that the gyro meat was confusing. Either they had the meat sitting out a while or it's just the way they make it but it was hard, almost beef jerky like. Drinks are included which includes Rose Water. They have a few fruit and dessert options. Because of the variety, I think this is a place even for vegetarians. As for the service, the Hostess, if that's what she was supposed to be, was barely helpful. According to her, during the lunch hour and when it's not too busy, you seat yourself. You just walk in and find yourself an open table. From that point, you serve yourself and no one comes by to check on you. There are no servers and the only person to come by is the person picking up used plates. You do see a person walking around taking notes of how many people are at each table which they MAY reference when you pay, but I'm not sure. Anyhow, you are left to your own devices. Fair warning: 1) Come here when you're very hungry 2) Do not plan to try every.item in your first visit Wonderful concept of open buffet with Mediterranean cuisine's finest items such as dolma/sarms, kebabs, grilled veggies and desserts. Tons of protein options, grilled, fried or boiled available. 2 different types of soups, coffee, tea, hot or cold as well as soda fountain in the facility. Fresh baked pita bread along with crunchy options. As a side note the place has a lot of available spots with 3 separate dining spaces. I give here 5/5 with no hesitation. read more

Another great healthy food spot, I believe this place is like the new "Soup Plantation" in my book. A lot of good salad options, great humus, and chicken. I only come Monday - Friday for their $21.99 Buffet special But I must highlight an employee who amazes me everytime and needs some praising!! Faustino!!! Everytime I'm here I see this man working his heart out! I think he's a cleaner but I've seen him answer phones, help guest in English and Spanish etc.. if you're the owner and you're reading this, I gotta tell you this guy needs to be promoted or at the very least needs a raise. read more
I found this place via a posting on Instagram. The location is clean, big and with lots of parking space since it's in a shopping area. I believe the building used to be owned by Mimi's Cafe. The location is all "self-served"; you choose your own seats, and from there you serve everything yourself. The food is good in terms of quality and freshness. The bread is made fresh and the stations are constantly refilled. If you like lamb, you are entitled to one bone in lab shank (you have to ring the bell by the naan area to get it). I would definitely visit again, but during the lunch hours or the week. The cost during this time period is $19.00 per person vs. $29 during dinner or the weekends. read more

There was a variety of food. My favorite is the thyme pizza since it's such a unique topping on pizza. I also loved the lamb, you have to ring a bell so that a cook can make it fresh. I enjoyed the fresh pita bread since not many restaurants make it fresh. It's a good value for money. Service was almost nonexistent since it's a buffet. Our party had a late lunch here after a funeral and had a great experience even after such a sad event. The food was fantastic, staff very friendly, and our very large group had a huge room all to ourselves so we could commiserate and bond, which was a nice bonus. The restaurant is quite large and their buffet was impressive- tons of variety and everything we tried was delicious. They had 4-5 different choices of just hummus flavors alone for example! And they even have cheese pizza and lasagna lol. The avocado hummus was my fave, as well as their chicken kabob - so tender and savory. Their homemade pita bread is excellent too - thick, soft, and very flavorful. They have all sorts of salads, veggie dishes, and meat dishes, and my understanding is that it's halal - so something for anyone. And a great selection of desserts- their rose infused rice pudding was over-the-top fabulous- I loved it! Everything was clean and the staff were fastidious and attentive. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and variety. Dimassi's is a family-owned small Texas chain surprisingly - this is their first California location and I believe they're opening another one in Anaheim. They're located in a large shopping center - easy to find and plenty of parking. Thank you for making our post-funeral lunch peaceful and calming! I went there for lunch with my wife and sister. It was located in a shopping center with ample parking. We paid one price... $20 per person for lunch. Very clean, well maintained and the food selection was excellent. They had other selection like the shrimp fried rice. The pita bread was freshly baked and delicious with a great selection of desserts. The place was very large with lots of seating. I definitely will be back. read more
We visited the new location in Anaheim. The decor is very open and contemporary, but not really themed Mediterranean. This location has dozens of tables and can easily accommodate big crowds and large groups. The food layout, self serve drinks, and utensils is typical buffet style. The food choices are very healthy, both the salads, hummus and the hot dishes, several with a choice of fried and baked chicken or fish. Our party of six tried many of the offerings and were pleased with the quality. However the fresh fruit and dessert offerings were minimal. My only gripe was our dirty dishes were removed from our table only twice in the hour we were there. With our six eaters, we had to stack our dirty dishes. I believe this situation is easily resolved with added staff. For Mediterranean cuisine, Dimassi's in Anaheim is still worth a visit. read more

As an Arab girl SICK of only seeing mediterranean restaurants with just rice and kabobs, this place is BEYOND A BREATH OF FRESH AIR!!? They have all the HOMECOOKED STYLE meals that my mother would make all the time, the complicated dishes that takes time and effort and passion vs the basic kabob sandwich. The hummus the salads are just the beginning, and they all taste authentic and made with heart. They even have MANSAF???!? that's like the hardest dish ever where else can you sample a true Arab dinner party's platter than at this buffet??? The service is wonderful, and a little pricy sure esp on weekends, but the quality of food is COMPLETELY worth it. it amazes me how insanely delicious and fresh (coming from someone who's grown up with this cuisine) all options are here, and you truly can get a sample of anything. My family drives here an hour from the IE, and it's no wonder. read more

Delicious and clean buffet with many options for Mediterranean food! Recommend going on the weekends for that lamb shank...basically you ring the bell and get one lamb shank per customer , it's oh so tender and juicy. There are also a variety of hummus options and vegetable options. They also have freshly made pita (you can even add the lamb inside and make your own sandwich!). The prices aren't super bad at about $33 a person for a weekend AYCE buffet dinner. They also have refreshing rose water and dessert options like Baklava. Highly recommend next time in Cerritos! read more

I was craving for Mediterranean food and found this buffet. I was a bit skeptical after reading reviews but it was a great experience. Everything was clean and well organized. There were a lot of good food options, the buffet had something for everyone. The team over there was making sure they are refilling food as soon as it gets empty. Best place to try Everything without hurting your pocket. I would give it a 9 out of 10 on DVFM (Dees Value for Money) score. read more

First time coming to this buffet and it was quite interesting. Plenty of partying outside. You just go right in and take a table and pay on the way out. I waited there for 10 min before a staff told me to just go right in and sit. That's interesting. Next there are quite a lot of variety of buffet foods here. You have several kinds of vegetables and salads. And they were definitely fresh tasting. There's even a small cold pasta and potato salad section. Now onto the hummus sections. 3 different kinds (regular, avocado, and spicy). All were good and made fresh. Even their pita bread white or wheat are made fresh and kept in a large plastic container to retain the heat. In regard to their protein, their baked chicken was one of the best tasting. Juicy chicken over saffron rice. The rest like beef kabob and gyro meat was just dry. Even with added hummus it was still dry. The Dimassi eggplant was a surprise as I like the eggplant flavor. Probably because it was also cooked in molasses. They had fried fish and fried chicken which was OK. Two variety of soups but the only one I tried was lentil and that was tasty. Next onto the dessert. They had namoora, baklava, and jam cookies all were dry. They have the traditional fresh fruit like neon and cantploup which was good. To go options available for $9.99 any item you choose. So if you want all protein and no carb you can do that! Various to go containers for your needs. I like how they refill everything before it's empty. So if there's a 1/3 left of any of the salads or meats they refill it right away. They do remove empty plates right away so your table is always clean. But you have to refill your own water or soda. We dined here for over two hours and the staff reminded us that there is a two hour limit. We really only ate for one hour and chatted for another but they didn't care. So we had to get up and leave. Overall a good experience I would try it once more to see if the meats are still dry. read more

I was pleasantly surprised during my visit here. I'm usually not a fan of buffets; I find that most sacrifice the quality of food for the mass production of the quantity. However, the majority of the items I consumed at Dimassi's were tasty. Particular standouts were the salads; I had tabbouli, kale salad, and a tomato & cucumber one. They were all very fresh! Another standout was the roasted eggplant & lamb shank. Overall, great value for the variety of tasty food offerings found here. The restaurant also appeared to be very clean. I did not care for the desert selection however. Skip that. read more

I recently took my in-laws parents here for an early Mother's Day. On weekends it's $29.99. I've heard a lot of things about this place in general as the new spot to go to for a Mediterranean experience. My favorite thing here was the hummus. It was so creamy (I'm thinking about it now as I'm writing this). I really did enjoy all the hummus they had here. I also really liked the lamb dishes. Side note: on weekends you can get one lamb shank per person. Overall a decent place for Mediterranean food if you're looking to get a taste of different items! read more
I always pass by Dimassi's and was intrigued because I've never been to a Mediterranean buffet before. Overall, I'd say that for the quality and quantity of food, I'd recommend Dimassi's and say it's worth it. They have a large selection of different food here and everything that I tried was good. Nothing absolutely blew me away though but my two favorite items are the lamb shank and the gyro; these 2 are must tries and are really really good! We came here for Mother's Day so the experience may have been a bit different than it was on a normal day but when we went, it was CROWDED. We were on the Yelp list for about an hour and a half before we got seated and even the lines to get food were extremely long. Everything here is self served, including drinks, so nothing much to say about service here, but our plates were cleared out very quickly. The restaurant itself is actually really nice and bright and modern looking. The restaurant is located in a large plaza so finding parking is not an issue. read more

Mediterranean food with Kebabs and it's all you can eat? It's like a match made in heaven - or so I thought. With all these great reviews on Yelp and high star ratings I had to check this place out. As you may or may not know, Mediterranean food can be expensive. Like a plate from other places could start at 20 dollars. So with the most expensive buffet which is like a weekend dinner, it's only 31 dollars. So I thought that the price was great. It's like 10 dollars cheaper during the week for the buffet. Drinks are included for the price as well. When I walked in, you seat yourself. The greeter doesn't take you to your table and just tells you that "Everything is self serve" and you pay on your way out. Even your drink is self serve so essentially there is no service. The only time I had "service" was near the end when I was about leave and someone came to pick up my plate(s). That is plates with an S which means multiple. They don't clear up your table when you are eating and I see other people just stacking used plates. The presentation of the place looks good, like it literally looks like a work of art from afar. Things like the vegetables or the hummus look good from afar. However the deeper you go towards the actual meat is when it starts falling apart. Almost every single piece of meat I've got was dry. So dry. The only meat thing that wasn't dry was the fish fillet since it basically sat in sauce, the lamb shank, and the fried chicken. Everything else was so dry and difficult to eat. Even the meatballs that were sitting in a soup were dry in the core. The beef lasagna there was so dry it looked dehydrated and not a single person took a piece to try it. The fried chicken was semi-crispy (similar to like a grocery store fried chicken) and was oddly bland. The two soups they were offering that day were very salty. Anything grilled chicken was really dry. The lamb shank is unique since it requires a bell ring and a request was the only decent tasting item that was moist. The veggie items were passable but I am not paying 31 dollars just to eat cucumber, tomato, and salad. Haha. Overall - Most of the meats are dry except for the fish, lamb shank, and fried chicken. Anything grilled chicken I would avoid. There is legit no service and everything is self serve. I literally drove like 25 miles just to eat at this place and it was not worth the drive. I was just so disappointed with the place and I cannot see why this place is so highly rated on Yelp. read more
