We visited the new location in Anaheim. The decor is very open and contemporary, but not really themed Mediterranean. This location has dozens of tables and can easily accommodate big crowds and large groups. The food layout, self serve drinks, and utensils is typical buffet style. The food choices are very healthy, both the salads, hummus and the hot dishes, several with a choice of fried and baked chicken or fish. Our party of six tried many of the offerings and were pleased with the quality. However the fresh fruit and dessert offerings were minimal. My only gripe was our dirty dishes were removed from our table only twice in the hour we were there. With our six eaters, we had to stack our dirty dishes. I believe this situation is easily resolved with added staff. For Mediterranean cuisine, Dimassi's in Anaheim is still worth a visit. read more

Our party had a late lunch here after a funeral and had a great experience even after such a sad event. The food was fantastic, staff very friendly, and our very large group had a huge room all to ourselves so we could commiserate and bond, which was a nice bonus. The restaurant is quite large and their buffet was impressive- tons of variety and everything we tried was delicious. They had 4-5 different choices of just hummus flavors alone for example! And they even have cheese pizza and lasagna lol. The avocado hummus was my fave, as well as their chicken kabob - so tender and savory. Their homemade pita bread is excellent too - thick, soft, and very flavorful. They have all sorts of salads, veggie dishes, and meat dishes, and my understanding is that it's halal - so something for anyone. And a great selection of desserts- their rose infused rice pudding was over-the-top fabulous- I loved it! Everything was clean and the staff were fastidious and attentive. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and variety. Dimassi's is a family-owned small Texas chain surprisingly - this is their first California location and I believe they're opening another one in Anaheim. Recommend going on the weekends for that lamb shank...basically you ring the bell and get one lamb shank per customer , it's oh so tender and juicy. There are also a variety of hummus options and vegetable options. They also have freshly made pita (you can even add the lamb inside and make your own sandwich!). As an Arab girl SICK of only seeing mediterranean restaurants with just rice and kabobs, this place is BEYOND A BREATH OF FRESH AIR!!? First time coming to this buffet and it was quite interesting. Plenty of partying outside. You just go right in and take a table and pay on the way out. I waited there for 10 min before a staff told me to just go right in and sit. That's interesting. Next there are quite a lot of variety of buffet foods here. You have several kinds of vegetables and salads. And they were definitely fresh tasting. There's even a small cold pasta and potato salad section. Now onto the hummus sections. 3 different kinds (regular, avocado, and spicy). All were good and made fresh. Even their pita bread white or wheat are made fresh and kept in a large plastic container to retain the heat. In regard to their protein, their baked chicken was one of the best tasting. Juicy chicken over saffron rice. The rest like beef kabob and gyro meat was just dry. Even with added hummus it was still dry. The Dimassi eggplant was a surprise as I like the eggplant flavor. Probably because it was also cooked in molasses. They had fried fish and fried chicken which was OK. Two variety of soups but the only one I tried was lentil and that was tasty. Next onto the dessert. They had namoora, baklava, and jam cookies all were dry. They have the traditional fresh fruit like neon and cantploup which was good. To go options available for $9.99 any item you choose. So if you want all protein and no carb you can do that! Various to go containers for your needs. I like how they refill everything before it's empty. So if there's a 1/3 left of any of the salads or meats they refill it right away. They do remove empty plates right away so your table is always clean. But you have to refill your own water or soda. We dined here for over two hours and the staff reminded us that there is a two hour limit. We really only ate for one hour and chatted for another but they didn't care. So we had to get up and leave. Overall a good experience I would try it once more to see if the meats are still dry. read more

Had lunch here recently, first time here. First the place was nice and clean. I will say the main sitting area near buffet was very warm good thing they sat us near the windows. The staff were polite and efficient. Selection of food was great and they had plenty out. The naan or pita bread was very good and went well with the hummus. I did not really like the chicken kabob pieces, tasted to much of mustard, for some reason did not taste authentic. The desserts were tasty. I passed on the Rose water. Lunch price was 21.99 which is okay in this day and age after all it is all you can eat. I may give this place another try and bring my mom next time. We were on the Yelp list for about an hour and a half before we got seated and even the lines to get food were extremely long. Everything here is self served, including drinks, so nothing much to say about service here, but our plates were cleared out very quickly. Mediterranean food with Kebabs and it's all you can eat? It's like a match made in heaven - or so I thought. With all these great reviews on Yelp and high star ratings I had to check this place out. As you may or may not know, Mediterranean food can be expensive. Like a plate from other places could start at 20 dollars. So with the most expensive buffet which is like a weekend dinner, it's only 31 dollars. So I thought that the price was great. It's like 10 dollars cheaper during the week for the buffet. Drinks are included for the price as well. When I walked in, you seat yourself. The greeter doesn't take you to your table and just tells you that "Everything is self serve" and you pay on your way out. Even your drink is self serve so essentially there is no service. The only time I had "service" was near the end when I was about leave and someone came to pick up my plate(s). That is plates with an S which means multiple. They don't clear up your table when you are eating and I see other people just stacking used plates. The presentation of the place looks good, like it literally looks like a work of art from afar. Things like the vegetables or the hummus look good from afar. However the deeper you go towards the actual meat is when it starts falling apart. Almost every single piece of meat I've got was dry. So dry. The only meat thing that wasn't dry was the fish fillet since it basically sat in sauce, the lamb shank, and the fried chicken. Everything else was so dry and difficult to eat. Even the meatballs that were sitting in a soup were dry in the core. The beef lasagna there was so dry it looked dehydrated and not a single person took a piece to try it. The fried chicken was semi-crispy (similar to like a grocery store fried chicken) and was oddly bland. The two soups they were offering that day were very salty. Anything grilled chicken was really dry. The lamb shank is unique since it requires a bell ring and a request was the only decent tasting item that was moist. The veggie items were passable but I am not paying 31 dollars just to eat cucumber, tomato, and salad. Haha. Overall - Most of the meats are dry except for the fish, lamb shank, and fried chicken. Anything grilled chicken I would avoid. There is legit no service and everything is self serve. I literally drove like 25 miles just to eat at this place and it was not worth the drive. I was just so disappointed with the place and I cannot see why this place is so highly rated on Yelp. read more

This location is right next to my office so I came out here with my colleagues. It's nice because they accommodate large groups and you can also pay individually. There is also a loyalty program you can sign up for which is nice. I believe lunch is about $20? but I can't remember. The food is good but the desserts are just okay in my opinion.
