    a hand holding a hamburger
    Saif R.

This place used to be 5 stars for sure. I used to come here all the time with my family and my parents. However, it does seem like the quality went down a bit and prices (just like everywhere) went super high. They got rid of the combo meal when you get the burger which makes everything feel so much more expensive because now you have to get fries on the side and a drink on the side. I did go during Ramadan so it may be the reason me and my mom didn't like it as much anymore, but previously this was our go-to spot. The burgers would hit and they had some unique flavors and it was relatively close to us. Now it just feels a little too pricey for us My go to used to be the swiss mushroom burger with the masala fries and a vimto and it was fire But the positive is that it has hand slaughtered HFSAA certified meat and during Ramadan they gave us a free iftar plate which was super nice of them to do so! I'll give them another try after Ramadan and update this afterwards

What used to be a busy parking lot is all but dead. This is located inside the grocery store. We were in the neighborhood so decided to give a few things a try. We ordered the double trouble burger (based on recommendation from owner), the beef seekh kabob roll, and the kids burger meal. The wait time was standard with any made to order place. The kids burger consisted of mayo, ketchup, beef patty, bun, and cheese. It was a good size for the kids. The beef patty had adequate flavor and my daughter was satisfied. I ate her leftovers and can say the burger was plain but good. The double trouble burger had good flavor to it. The double patty provided a good amount of meat per bite along with the other flavors. I only took one bite out of this as my husband had ordered this for himself. I think I would like to order this for myself next time around. The beef kabob roll was actually the only disappointment. There was no real defining flavor to it. It was stuffed with two small pieces of seekh kabob, a bunch of cucumbers, and some sauces, all rolled up in a oily paratha, that actually fell apart as eating. I have had my fair share of kabob rolls, and this would be on the lower end of my list. I was craving something that meshed together better.

My friends and I were looking for some late night eats, and I used the "open now" filter in my Yelp search. This place miraculously popped up, and I'm so glad it did. We went around 1:00 a.m., and the place was packed! Whole families were sitting there, enjoying food. Apparently, they open late for Ramadan, so they were open until 3 a.m. that night! The place is basically a counter located within a small market. You order at the counter, and there is an area with plastic chairs and tables. I love random eats like this, and the whole experience felt raw and authentic. I ordered the Anday wala bun kebab with fries. The flavors were awesome and the meat was soft - definitely different from your typical burger. My friends ordered a burger, and they said it was solid. The fries were cooked perfectly and served as a good neutral base for the amazing flavors of my sandwich. This place is awesome, and I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu. I'll probably call ahead and order take out next time!

Traditional breakfast plate called Halwa Puri and this is must try.

Again and again same quality of the food and delicious menu to makes everyone happy. My favorite choices are breakfast/brunch menu. Now I heard they started Taco Tuesday night too. I will love to try other stuff on the menu next time. One thing keep in mind good fresh and yummy food needs patience so when you order and waiting for your order it's worth it. This tells you food is not microwave and it's being prepared right in front of your eyes. Meanwhile order extremely delicious tea and some snacks you can pick up from shelves. Highly recommended for everyone and don't forget to invite family and friends.

Just had brunch here with the family at The Hotspot Grill!! Delicious Pakistani breakfast and then halal American dishes with a desi twist!! LOVED IT! We got the Halwa Puri platter with cholay, potatoes, and onion achaar!! Then I got the anday wala bun kabob (basically a kabob sandwich with egg) and OMGAHHHHH with the chutney sauce it was sooo good! I wanted two but I was picking away at everyone's food! Also we appreciated that everything came out hot and fresh... including the chai! I'll easily go back, so much more I want to try!!

I've been here so many times, their quality of food never failed. Their customer service is great. It's not like everyday desi restaurant, where concerns don't matter. They take initiative to resolve customer issue.

Halwa puri. This is one serving.

Really good halwa puri and anda paratha. The portions are huge with 2 puris and 2 parathay per serving. The anda paratha is really good desi style! The service is very friendly and courteous. The added bonus is that they open early for a desi breakfast place! They only have mixed chai, though. My husband really liked it but it's not my thing. They don't have an option to provide tea and milk separately which is a bummer. I'll definitely be back!

Absolutely amazing! I was searching for chai in OC and this place popped up. I don't normally leave reviews but I feel compelled as the chai was absolutely exquisite. Their desi breakfast may be the best I've ever had! The best thing is they serve breakfast all day We had beef tacos too and they were delicious. The best thing is they serve halal meat. The vibe of the outside patio is beautiful and the staff is super friendly.Must try! #chailovers #halalfood

Burger meat is uncooked and raw. The worker we spoke with did not care, they did not offer any solutions such as making a new burger or refunding this amount. Basically just said ok after we informed them of the raw burger patty. What is also sad is this is the burger we received for our baby (7 months old).

Outside view of the grill - it's a part of a Pakistani grocery store.

The food isn't terrible but it's not that good either, the wait was kinda long and everything was just a little bland.

Their second location in LA is in Hawaiian Gardens. Gorgeous interior, perfect place for a date or gathering. They have large spaces and private areas inside. The food was delicious and so are their mocktails!! Wowww I was very impressed with the double smoked apple cocktail and highly recommend trying it. All their dishes are made with so much detail. And, many of the dishes have a very visual interactive moment like their table side bhel puri, puri, or their chicken biriyani and smoked beef. From modern authentic dishes to street food they have it all. The sloppy khans were also delicious! I really enjoyed their curry dishes with the garlic naan. They have so many dishes to try! I cannot wait to come back to try their butter chicken and paneer as well! For dessert we tried their rose milk cake and the chocolate samosas. Both were satisfying and the milk cake felt really special. Huge thank you to Ali, who has such a vibrant energy about him!!!!! He really added to the wonderful experience and helps us appreciate all the details and background of the dishes as well! Cannot rave about him enough. Definitely made the experience special for us! Congrats to Khan Saab on their new location!! Come check them out!

The larger, open space was a huge plus compared to the more compact Fullerton location, and the new items like chapli kebabs and different karahi variations were refreshing. This easily could have become our favorite location. Unfortunately, since Shor rebranded as Khan Saab, the overall experience seems to have gone downhill. The staff themselves are always nice, genuine, and willing to help, but once the restaurant gets even a little busy, they seem overwhelmed and clearly understaffed. Compared to the original Fullerton location, especially when more of the familiar OG staff were there, the service does not feel as polished or consistent. Our last visit was particularly disappointing. We ordered chicken karahi, chicken tikka masala, biryani, and bhel puri. The bhel puri was extremely dry with very little sauce and tasted poorly balanced. Nearly everything else, including the biryani, karahi, and tikka masala, was overly salty. The chicken karahi was the biggest disappointment. It is usually one of my go-to dishes at Khan Saab, but this time it barely tasted like karahi and was more like a generic curry. I understand this location does not offer boneless karahi, which is completely fine, but the flavor and quality should still be consistent. This location has so much potential because of the space and the Khan Saab name, but the consistency in both food and service just isn't there right now. I'll probably avoid this location for a while and hope ownership and Chef Ali Mookhi take notice and bring the standards back up.

To rectify this, last Friday I was given 2 veg and 2 boneless chicken biryani as a replacement. Shockingly when I tried to open and eat the vegetarian biryani, I found chicken piece in both of the veg biryani order. Please see photos attached. I tried to call and speak with the restaurant people, they really had a bad attitude. The lady on phone was not ready to believe about this and she was blaming why we did not open n eat the biryani the same day it was bought.
