Ive been to several Dimassi's around Houston, and I've always loved their food! Its consistently fresh, tasty and the buffet just has so many dishes! So when I found out they opened up in the Willowbrook area, I was super excited because its close to home! I finally got a chance to check it out, and it is huge! The food as usual was amazing, the staff was kind, and it was so spacious and clean. Very family friendly as well. Also, Dimassi's has added gyro to their buffet line, which I was really thankful for! Check out this new location! First time eating here and I left very full and very happy! So many options to try and not overwhelming at all.. I'm not too familiar with the different dishes but I tried a lot of different food and I wasn't disappointed.. The cauliflower is a must try, seasoned and baked perfectly! I've been here a bunch of times over the years. Their food is always good and very affordable for a quality buffet! They have a wide variety of items to gorge on, and although not everything is great, the majority is tasty and well seasoned. Their pita and hummus is on point here too! Don't overlook their pizza like everyone does! The dough is the same as the pita bread dough so you get this very soft crust its delicious. I love Dimassi's so much!! I always get the grilled chicken, lentil rice, and hummus. The grilled chicken is to die for!! The original hummus is amazing but the spicy is great as well! My senses have never been so thoroughly assaulted as they have been by my visit to this buffet. First, it smelled so bad outside of the restaurant because of the dumpster next to it out front. I held my breath as I entered the building and I almost vomited on the way out. It took me quite a while, sitting in a nearby parking lot, to recover from the smell. It's really that bad. It was dirty inside and it smelled of body odor quite badly. It was awful. It was expensive. It was a gross and terrible experience. read more

Hmm... Dimassi's... Well I'm not a super fan of Mediterranean food, but I do love kebabs and hero sandwiches. This is a typical buffet, Mediterranean salad choices, good humus, like 4 flavors. Good Naan bread. You can ask for fresh cut hero meat. I didn't feel like a hero. Just.. Meh. Is $12 for lunch. Kinda high unless you just love Mediterranean food. All of the food is very fresh and hot. The food is renewed frequently. I feel like there is something for everyone. You likely will not like every item available but you will be able to find something you like. If you are a fan of "healthy" food such as lean meats & vegetables you will like it. My absolute favorite thing that I crave and keeps me coming back is the Falafel & Garlic sauce. I have had Falafel at other places and I don't like it, but over here I usually eat at least 6 pieces every time. I am not a fan of Mediterranean nor greek food at all, but I actually do like this place. There are very unique dishes and some classic comfort foods available. (alfredo style Pasta, Fried/Baked chicken & fish, meatballs, fajita style chicken) Give it a try at least once. Its a great stop for lunch. read more

My wife had one of these by her job, so we decided to try this location which is closer. The buffet had a wide variety of food, and the hummus and baba ghanoush dips with the warm pita bread is delicious. Not impressed by the fish(baked or fried), but the chicken and rice more than made up for it. They had a variety of grilled chicken out, and the one with a mustard finish was pretty good. The veggie selection is good, needs a little seasoning for my taste, but it made do. Didn't get to sample the limited desserts offered, because of the warm pita bread overload I did.....but it was just a few cupcakes and cookies. I'd recommend anyone looking for genuine Mediterranean food to stop by!! read more

THe food is fantastic, and This has the potential to be better, but it's kinda dirty.... I picked up 5 dirty spoons before I found a clean one, about 4 plates and 8 glasses!!!! They were all caked with food! I am giving them 3 stars instead of 2 because the food is super good and you could tell the kitchen itself was very clean, but the dinning room and dishes were gross. Also the Rose water looked so good but I wasn't about to try it because it had no cover on the top and it was at the perfect angle for people to cough and spit in it. I hope management takes care of these things, I'll give them a few months before I go back. read more

It is a buffet! I have been there three times, and I am satisfied to have a selection of various dishes at a reasonable price. I love the cold bar with the fresh cucumber salad, hummus, baba ganoush. (4 stars) The kabobs give you a variety of meats, and in particular, I like the Kefta kabob (seasoned ground beef-4 stars) The vegetable dishes seem frozen and was not particularly great (2 stars). The spinach, peas, okra dishes could be improved by ising fresh ingredients. The rice dishes were pretty good. Gives texture to the frozen veggies sauteed in the tomato sauce. The desserts at the end of the line were just ok, but the baklava was more tolerable but only mildly so (3 stars). Overall, when you make a large quantity of food for a steam table, there is usually a sacrifice in quality. I understand that being a fan of some Chinese and Indian buffets in town. . . .Not a place for the intimate dining experience, but if you want a taste of a little of a lot, give this place a try. It is so yummy here. This is my 2ND time since they opened a few months ago. There is a lot of seating and a really cute Muslim girl as a cashier. Her smile is very beautiful. I came during lunch time so it wasn't that busy and crowded like it could be at night. Pita bread was warm,they had rose water (my fave drink) and a lot of good food options to choose from! They have 2 TVs and one was turned to CNN and the other FOX. So if you go alone for lunch you can stare at the tvs whichever news station you like. Opening weekend and I expected to be knocked off my feet for all the hype I've heard for this restaurant. We walked in to a register and a woman sitting at a table near it doing something with silverware. Not sure what though as the silverware was in self serve bins at the end of the buffet line. Maybe she is shining it? Not sure. She directed us to go ahead and help ourselves. The buffet line takes up the entire back wall of the old 59 diner location on 249. The entire place is bare walled and open. Very cafeteria style. Nothing to break up the wall to wall tables. No pictures up, no plants, just one large screen TV. It really feels like they opened before finishing the place. There are areas of wall unfinished with a different color paint and tiling with bar codes showing painted on the tile. At a glance down the buffet line, it looks like a tasty varied spread. A sign announces that lamb shank and gyro meat are available upon request. Ok! We grab plates and start our feast at the salad end. There are several varieties of salad to choose from. They are pretty tasty as well. After the salads is a small dessert section of cold foods such as a (most delicious) rice pudding, cantaloupe and orange slices. A basket of pita bread and spiced breads awaits before the hot line. The hot line has a huge varied assortment. A lentil soup that is delicious, but barely warm. Fried fish and fried chicken, also delicious and also barely warm. The falafel was moderately warm and was average- nothing outstanding but not bad either, just so so. Shredded beef with onion was hot but not flavorful, but the peas and carrots in a tomato sauce were both! Finally something both hot in temperature and great flavor! The spinach and feta would have tasted better in phillo dough. The mustard chicken was so horribly dry, yet flavorful. Chicken breast just doesn't do so well on a buffet. We tried the lamb shank we requested and it fell of the bone and was awesomely tender but had hardly any flavor to it. We hit it with salt and that helped considerably, but the lamb should have been outstanding. It was a shame to have to smack it with salt to have taste because it looked so delicious and was just falling off the bone tender. We caught some kafta coming out of the kitchen and grabbed a piece quickly and it was hot and full of flavor! There is a pretty good selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes too. The rice selections were interesting as they were flavorful but seemed to use an instant rice? It was a puffy too soft medium grain versus a tender long grain with some bite. At the end of the row of food is a soda machine, a rose colored drink and unsweetened tea. A large amount of jam cake, semolina dessert and baklava are after the drinks followed by the silverware assortment. There is no server present, so refills and dirty plates are up to you to manage. Overall it seemed many items could have been wonderful if they were just warmer. Others just needed more spice, which is an odd thing to say at a Mediterranean restaurant. The desserts were all very good though although the baklava was a bit overcooked but still delicious. I'm one of those people that really put weight into clean restrooms and being a slow Sunday night didn't expect the disarray I found here. Toilet paper strewn on the floor doesn't make me have confidence in the restaurant staff. I just expect employees to take pride in a place and it should be clean on all fronts. I'm glad I had found a Groupon or the price would have really put me off as almost everything we had was barely warm. We will more than likely return to try it again and see if things improve because it seems the food (and restaurant decor) have so much potential to be great! read more
