A few months ago, I had someone put me on to this place. They actually were on a brief layover at Bush Airport and put it on their list to stop in at Bundu Khan Kebab House (17 miles away from the airport) just to pick up 6 sandwiches (rolls) ALL for himself and NOW I understand "why". As no foreigner to Indo/Pak Cuisine, I had my mind set to try a Beef Boti Roll (mild) on "Paratha" bread - a toasty flaky flat bread housing several large chunks of savory beef marinated in Pakistani spices, diced onion and cucumber with a hint of ketchup and two sauce containers of a basalmic dressing and a thinner mint yogurt sauce to dip or our. This roll is also available and freshly made Naan. This roll is about 8" long. Everything is cooked to order - every order taking about 15 to 20 minutes to prepare. If you are in a hurry, make sure that you order ahead. I also want to add that they make a limited amount of marinated beef for boti and only had one order left enough for me to be able to try it. Came here on a Friday night with the family. Service and ambience were okay, it's more of an elevated type of hole in the wall restaurant. Food was good, I got a chicken seekh kabab paratha roll. I personally am not a fan of goat/lamb (gamey meat) but tried the mutton chops and they were soo so good! Believe it or not, but for as long as I've been in Houston, I have yet to have visited this place... until now. I was apprehensive about trying barbecue that is not my own family members coming because we don't eat very spicy food and the one time I did have it at restaurant it was incredibly spicy and I could not eat it. We had told them about our spicy aversion, and they said that they would wash the chicken which they did, but we took the goat with full spice. It was completely worth it the barbecue here is delicious. Even with the chicken being washed before they barbecue it it still had quite a bit of spice on it and tasted great. We also got the paratha and bihari with sauces. The chutney is great. The worst is when they water it down and they did not do that over here and I am definitely appreciative of that. I want to take points off because it smelled like cigarette smoke during the time we were there? but not the entire time, which makes me think that someone was smoking in the kitchen because there was only a couple of other patrons there and they were not smoking, but either way I loved the food and would recommend to come here and try the delicious and authentic barbecue. read more

Good ole Bundu Khan. With the flavor of spices, herbs, grill and smoke just penetrating thru the air, giving you that feeling of being at one of those mom n pop shops back home, crowded with people. This place is always packed and probably offers the best Pakistani grilled food. From items like Chicken Tikka, Boti Kabob, Seekh kabob, Bihari kabob, Kabob roll, Paratha rolls and that damn Naan!! On our last visit to Bundu Khan, we ordered chicken tikka breasts, beef boti and paratha rolls with beef and with chicken. Our tikkas were grilled to perfection. Beef boti was seasoned very well, spicy and juicy. The paratha rolls were also very good. I do prefer the beef roll over the chicken roll. A paratha is a type of roti/naan that is severely laced with oil. I guess a good equivalence would be a gordita. Theirs naans were fresh and came right off the pit. Usually go to the SL one but tried this one out last night. It's always crowded but we took it to go so the food was ready when we got there. The chicken tikkas are always great! A bit too spicy for the original so I get mild. The beef Bihari was great too! The chicken Botis not that great and dried up so would recommend sticking to the tikkas. Their halwa is INSANELY GOOD. Like I can eat the whole bowl myself! Overall great experience and would always keep going back. read more

An Indian guy recommended this place when I said I love Agas. Wellllll... this place was a huge disappointment. Meat lacked flavor. And it seemed like cheap cuts of meat. I've been craving Pakistani bbq for awhile now and there's really not a lot of Pakistani bbq around Houston ! Bundu Khan is one of the few and popular one and they have several location. I've been to the original bundu khan a long time ago, but this is my first time to this location. This location is definitely cleaner and bigger than the original location. Pakistani bbq is super flavorful so if you've never had it before it's time you try ! It can be quite spicy for some people but you can always ask for mild ! You order the food from the cashier and pay after you eat ! They served us water once we are seated and you can order drinks from your table. We got the grilled chops, shekh kebabs, chicken boti, tikka leg, and of course the paratha ! Everything was yummy ! It's very good, other than the seekh kababs. I found the seekh kababs tasted almost oven cooked. Im sure they weren't but they were too soft, and not charred. Everything else was excellent. The only other gripe is I have no idea what the prices are. Everything online and on yelp seems out of date, so it was more than I thought but it wasn't crazy, as I thought the posted prices were too cheap. Without question 100% THE best Chicken Tikka I've ever had. If you truly want the full experience go to the Cypress Creek location instead of the Bissonnet one (not as congested, and the food is slightly better). The chutney and rhaitha are on the spicier side, which only makes things better because the meat is spicy too, so you'll forsure have sweat coming down your forehead, snot coming out of your nose, and your eyes will be tearing up. But not to worry because the paratha, aloo cholay, and Halwa compliment everything really well and sweetens up your mouth. There's really no better place in Houston for grilled desi food. If you're not a tikka person the Lamb chops, Bihari boti, Seekh kabob, and Tandoori chicken are all worth checking out as well. Grilled chops hands down the best tasty, tender grilled meat at Bundu Khan. But this updated review has to do with the unsanitary handling of the water pitcher. Did you know those stainless steel pitchers are never washed after they've been used by a customer? They re-shelved them. OMG! It's disgusting. While waiting for our table to be cleaned, the server grabbed the stainless steel pitcher from our table, took the pitcher in the back where she had the tap water running and refilled the pitcher. She then added some ice cubes and brought the same pitcher back to our table. What? That pitcher was used by previous customer and they must have breathe on it, contaminated the remaining water or who knows what. And they're serving it back to the next customer? Want to know another reason for giving Bundu Khan a eek! Me thinks not rating from Yay! I'm a fan? There's two guys who take turns in manning the cashier/taking orders. You have to watch for the chubby one. The chubby guy will keep punching the cash register without saying a word except how much you owe. We don't even know what he is charging us. Absolutely incredible food. Every single time I come here they never fail to impress. Bihari kabob is always perfectly tender. Seekh Kabobs are a classic and I recommend that you get these. This was my first time here. The place is empty, but it is also 2 p.m., so that is fine. I just started a low - carb diet, so I have been looking for some good places to get my protein - heavy diet in. The only side items offered are bread, fried bread or rice, so they are off my list of options. I walked in and they greeted me at the counter. Their menu board is very minimal, with only the names of their kebabs up there. The gentleman at the counter noticed my struggle to figure things out and gave me a menu with the prices on it. That was helpful. Then he started explaining what each of the main dishes were. Also helpful! Then he showed me the display case with the kebabs in it, and what each thing was. Also very helpful! All in all, they seem to be willing to work with "foreigners". They do not offer a sods fountain, and their canned soda options are minimal: coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and Fanta. They also serve tap water or sell bottled water. I Ordered The Behari kabab (beef) and Started to dig in. OH man, nasty texture! The meat was like mush in my mouth. It was kabab pâté. It looked like tasty morals of meat, but I couldn't handle the texture! Especially without bread to cover it up! Just be aware, if you order the begari, just know that it is meant to "melt in your mouth." BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! I took it up to the counter explaining MY personal distaste for the behari, and the owner grabbed another kabab with more bite to it and threw it on the grill for me. I applaud his customer service! He knows how to make a person come back! The next kabab was a MUCH better texture for my taste buds! It was a little spicy, but great middle eastern flavors! Yummmy! The sauces were thin, but added another depth of flavor if you like onion, the bed of raw onions, together with the the meat adds a great crunchy component to the meat. I'm trying the chicken next.
