Wish they left it off or put it in the side so we could have enjoyed the Calamari itself. 4. Sweet Potato Ravioli... the actual ravioli was good. Loved the filling. But this dish was ruined by a flavorless sauce. It tasted like cream mixed with butter. That sauce should be left off. Im sure the server already knew we didnt really enjoy it bcuz he didnt even question why food was left and we didnt want to take any of it to go... The portions were also surprisingly big and very satisfying. One of the coolest parts of our visit was the interactive tables. The tables are actually screens where you can play games, take and print photos, view the menu, color virtual books, and explore so many other fun features. It made the whole experience unique and enjoyable. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Great food, great service, and such a fun atmosphere. Definitely a place worth visiting!

Alma has a better flow than Amla, but who am I to judge someone else's language? In this case Amla means sweet in Albanian. Amla is a brand new cafe and they offer freshly made crapes, self serve frozen yogurt, sandwiches, coffee and drinks. The inside is very colorful with large pictures of their offerings and pretty cool wall and ceiling art indicating the frozen yogurt area. The most unique aspect of Amla are their tables. The tables are entirely interactive, you may view the full menu and play games. This is a great way to keep kids sitting while the adults are having their coffee. We ordered some coffees, a strawberry Nutella crepe and a chocolate milkshake. I got the Fruity Pebbles Latte off of their specials menu. The wait for the coffees was very long. I understand they are very new and still working on their flow, but at one point their entire staff was behind the counter at the same time looking to balance out the orders. It was a few minutes later when our order was finally brought out. As expected the Fruity Pebbles Latte was very sweet, it was very tasty, I genuinely enjoyed it. The crepe was stuffed with plenty of strawberries and Nutella, it was thin, just how my mom makes it. The crepe was a winner. One note about the utensils; The crepe was served on a proper plate, with very weak plastic utensils, the kind that bend and snap with the slightest pressure. Real silverware would be appreciated. The staff was very apologetic for the long wait, that they brought over a Pistachio Croissant on the house. It was very generous, I told them I understood the wait, and I enjoyed everything. This croissant was soft and flaky filled with delectable pistachio cream. There are so many tasty goods to try at Amla, I will be back.

They told us they could make pork laab but if you look at my two photos, they look identical. The "pork laab" tasted like bacon. It seemed like they just cooked the ground chicken in bacon grease and called it pork. I did tell the chef it was greasy and my thoughts and her response was, "It's pork, of course it's greasy." Okay, but you cooked it in bacon grease and tried to fool me. Pork laab 1/10. Chicken 3/10. Papaya salad cones Thai or Lao style. I asked for Lao style because I want the extra fermented fish sauce funk that I love. It had some shredded carrots and medium spice was great for me. They served it with ice berg lettuce wedge but I asked for cabbage (authentic way to eat it). Flavor was good. 6/10 Seafood rad Ma (lad na) was mediocre. Bay scallops and calamari were overcooked. Flavor lacked and was bland, even after I dressed it up. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. I prefer no muscles but there was plenty and only Chinese broccoli as the only vegetable in the dish. It would've been nice to see carrots in it too. 4/10. I ordered two identical dishes of this and I was charged two different prices; $18 & $19. Look at your receipt! The star of the show was the beef jerky and fried chicken wings! They were phenomenal and I'd probably only order the two apps with sticky rice again. 10/10 Ambiance is great. The veggie rolls were unremarkable (as most are) but the peanut sauce that came with them was quite tasty. The portion size of the pad thai noodles was enormous. The tofu was well flavoured and moist. The noodles themselves were a bit bland and needed more of a kick (something that one could accomplish with the Sriracha on the table). The eggplant dish was full of veggies, which I appreciated greatly, but was overly oily and underflavored. The rice that came with the stir fry was perfectly cooked. The ambiance was lovely, replete with "lush" vegetation and some bamboo ornaments. The restroom was also clean and well-maintained, sadly uncommon in this part of New England. Service was good. The waitress was pleasant and the food came out quite quickly. Overall, it is highly unlikely that I will return, because there are certainly better restaurants if one were to travel a bit further to Middletown. This is however a good option in the Rocky Hill area.

Next time I'd skip the parm and just have regular fries. The buffalo chicken dip was good. I've always loved their mashed potatoes, but I order them without the onions on top. There isn't much wow in the food, but it's decent. Their takeout boxes don't hold so well, so your food will have to be reheated- that's our problem though, not theirs. All in all, Wood N Tap has great service, and great allergen protocols, but the food is pretty average. A great spot for bar food, and exciting they have GF now. We'll likely return.
