I ordered rye bread, and got white. The Swiss cheese was nearly non-existent. I think they put a thin slice of cheese in the sandwich, most of which oozed out during grilling. And lastly, they charged 13.99 for this anemic sandwich (and pickle). I've had far better Reubens at any diner in the area for less. So, very disappointing. First time visiting Max Bibo's and I was really excited! I got a strawberry Iced Tea, which was a special, and really enjoyed it! For a sweet treat I got a pistachio croissant and sadly really disappointed with it. I loved the atmosphere of this place- I had heard owners changed at some stage (not sure when) and this place got a change for the better. Staff were extremely friendly. Went to meet a friend here who lives right around the block but had never been here before. It's the perfect place for lunch! We sat at the bar and they took our orders without having to stand in line at the deli counter. They have a full bar, wide selection of sandwiches and sides, and really nice people who are happy to help answer any questions you might have. My husband and I visited on a rainy Saturday afternoon and were beyond pleased with our food, and the service. The deli staff was punctual and friendly, making our sandwiches in what seemed like only a minute or two. Aside from sandwiches we also grabbed some steamy Mac n' cheese and potato salad. I can remember a time when many group work lunches were catered by MB. They did a quality job. I was near the Wethersfield MB this week and decided to try MB for a breakfast sandwich. The thing about preparing food in front of customers, is that they know exactly how you're making the food. Sometimes, that's great - table side guacamole or Caesar salad. Sometimes, it's not so great. Hello sausage factories. I want to emphasize in advance that nothing bad happened, but after watching the early stages of Max Bibo's making my bacon, egg and American cheese on whole wheat toast, I was prepared to dislike it. They first grabbed a container of mostly cooked bacon, removed some and stuck it in the microwave. Next, they cracked two fresh eggs into a bowl and stirred. At that point, I scanned the rooms and did not see a grill. I said to myself - Please don't microwave the eggs. Please don't microwave the eggs. They microwaved the eggs. And at some point, they added American Cheese to the bowl as well. I'm not a fan of relying on a microwave rather than a grill or a pan for breakfast items. I've seen it break bad too many times. To my surprise, the sandwich worked. The bacon was salty and reasonably crisp. The toast was buttery, which I don't need for a sandwich, but it was tasty. The American Cheese seemed a cut above quality-wise and it was perfectly melted. The texture and thickness of the egg wasn't my favorite, but it was decent and far better than I expected. I would order this sandwich again, and maybe walk around the deli and not watch them make it. read more

Stopped in to pick up lunch for a couple of co-workers. Orderd a few sandwiches. They were very good. Also got a pint of chicken salad. It was very disapointing .. VERY SALTY, it was basicially chicken with ALOT of mayo, a lot of salt and some celery. Won't get that again. Tried the baklava. $5.00 each. It was Awful. It was super soggy, like it's been sitting there for a few days. And to boot we got charged for 2 but only had one. Our fault for not looking at the receipt . Lastly, a blondie (?) . Undercooked.
