We came here for an early lunch when it opened on a Sunday and it was surprisingly good. The smash burgers were amazing, the fries were excellent, and service was friendly and frequently attentive. We love good tartar sauce on fries (I'm VERY particular on what we consider "good") and their tartar sauce was outstanding! A different Yelper mentioned coming for "brunch," but it quickly became clear that she meant she came before noon for lunch because it was not a brunch menu. We really enjoyed what we ate and liked the atmosphere even though a hipster bar vibe was not what we originally expected, because we thought it was a brunch place. Atmosphere: Cute little spot, tons of character. Clean bathrooms. Street parking out front. Service: Super friendly and had great knowledge about the menu. Drinks: I ordered the bloody mary (as a bloody maria) and it was delicious, tons of flavor and a small kick. Food: My wrap had almost no chicken and the coleslaw didn't have much flavor. However the french fries that my partner ordered were fantastic, I would come here just to eat the fries. He also loved his burger super weird flavor combo but it was delicious. Stopped here for lunch today and so glad we did! Excellent service and delicious food! I had their Summachetta. Nummy! A combo of tomato, garlic, basil, olive oil, shaved Parmesan cheese and dried cranberries, served with their toast points. Their toast points appear to be deep fried slices of French bread. I've never had them this way before- WHY NOT!?? I also had a order of the bone-in wings. Cooked to my specific request. Tasty, but I wouldn't say special. My friend had the Blackberry Smoke Wrap. A flour tortilla, breaded chicken, harvest greens, blackberry chipotle, (she skipped the red onion), cheddar cheese, grape tomato, mayo w/grilled chicken. I wanted to like this place but I only come here for the grape sour, I've tried several food items and they've all been subpar, but the cheese and steak dust sandwich on six inch thick Texas toast was the final straw. For the first time in my life I sent back my food. Restaurants are too expensive nowadays, if it's not perfect I'm sending it back. There's really no good restaurants in the area. Tell us the good and the bad. Well, okay. . . Dining options in Platteville see limited, and 7 Hills North has always been sort of good. Sandwich and burger assembly generally sloppy, but otherwise above mediocre. Tonight, though, not good. Starting out, everything was awesome. I know because our server told us. Beer order: awesome! Food order: awesome! Sides order: awesome! But delivery: NOT awesome. (Yes, in caps. Very intentional.) My sandwich was supposed to have bacon. But no bacon was on it. This is a major part of the sandwich, so I asked the server about it. She will check. No answer, response, or anything. She did start towards our table twice, but turned around as if she forget something. Then she disappeared until it was check time. No explanation, other than crazy busy. Awesome! Day trip from Illinois, my wife and I landed in Platteville with no lunch plans. Stumbled upon this neat restaurant. Downtown hub, very quaint. I had the Cilantro Salad with grilled chicken, my wife had the merry berry wrap with chili. The salad with the jalapeño's was epic! The wrap was amazing!! Our server, Calli was awesome also! Great bar food and they brew their own beer! I had a burger smothered with pulled pork and a coffee stout to wash it down with.

I've eaten here twice now and both times that I have gone the food has been amazing. The wait staff have gone out of their way to ensure I had an enjoyable visit. It does get a little crowded but that's okay because that usually occurs during the dinner rush, but afterwards it gets to a comfortable level and people seem to enjoy themselves. All in all, I highly recommend stopping in for a bite. read more

This has become our annual stop on the way home from Breckenridge. They have great offerings for beer. The food is delicious as well. We have had really good service and so so service. I popped in today and was pleasantly surprised! The interior is pretty trendy on the cafe side and the pub area is pretty welcoming too. I wanted a greyhound but they didn't have grapefruit juice so I ordered a mimosa. I also ordered their chicken pesto sandwhich with a house salad. I tried their orange vinaigrette which was just okay- definitely prefer balsamic vinaigrette. Their chicken pesto sandwhich was perfection- sooo good and my sister got their cheese curds which were superb too. Ate on the pub side twice and been in for drinks several times. Had a burger and fries the first time. Nice big burger on a fresh bun. Very good. Fries were a little salty, but the second time we ate there the salt amount was fine. Had the fish (cod) and fries on our second visit. Very good. The second time we ate it was very busy and there isn't a lot of seating on the bar side. The bartenders also doubled as the servers. Love supporting local businesses. We (3) chose to eat lunch here on a Wednesday around 12:10.The sign, when we walked in, stated to seat ourselves. We sat at our table (needed to be cleaned and receipts were on the tables from previous customers) for 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. Staff walked by our table several times without speaking or making eye contact. Finally we were asked for our drink orders and told our waitress would be by soon to take our order. We waited another 15 minutes. The menu is extremely limited, this tells me they really do those few dishes right! We all ordered the same meal-hamburger and fries. We waited another 15-20 and then decided to go to the bar to order coffee. No staff was anywhere in sight, waited another 10 minutes for staff to make our coffee . Observed a customer who walked in to order a carry out meal- she to waited for staff to acknowledge her. After waiting over an hour for our food we got up, found our waitress, paid for our coffee and left. We were told they were very busy. Honestly there were more empty tables than oculus did tables. I can't (I won't) imagine the wait on a weekend or dinner shift. read more
