Was very disappointed in this management team. Some old friends rented a house out before we took it over and when we moved in, we had a half done walk through inspection and they told us we could paint the walls whatever color we wanted so long as it was tasteful. We decided on a deep beige for the living room, lavender for my daughters room, baby blue for the master bedroom, and burgundy for the dining room. We e-mailed a month after move-in to let him know about the painting and if he could come take and look. We stated that if he didn't like it, we would repaint upon move out. We never received a phone call or response back. Fast forward a few months and we had some problems in the drive way area where dirt turns to mud and then gets washed away after heavy rain. This leaves enormous pot holes. Upon letting Roger know about it via voicemail and e-mail, we never hear back from him. Fast forward again to move-out. When I paid last months rent and gave my 30 day notice in writing, I also gave my phone number and new forwarding address so we could get our security deposit back ($1500 plus $300 pet dep). By law, they have 21 days to return the security deposit upon move out, so a month later and no check, we call and e-mail. No response, yet again...no surprise here. Another month goes by, and we finally show up at the office and he gives us a huge list of the things he charged on move-out. 2 of the largest on the list was 1) Replacement of carpet (which was in great condition btw--he can't blame dogs on it, because our old friends had 2 large dogs). 2) Repainting the entire house...because we painted "loud, obnoxious colors." This is the worst property management company I have ever dealt with, the office staff is rude, does not return calls and has lousy maintenance. I rented a unit they managed for 2.5 years and had nothing but bad experiences. I always paid my rent on time and never bounced a check. When my refrigerator quit the day before Christmas no one woudl respond to my calls. I had to purchase a refrigerator for my rental or lose all the food inside. The maintenace guy would show up unannounced and do substandard work. I was very happy when the owner of the condo fired them. When it came time to move I called and asked them to write a letter stating that I was a good tenant, always paid my rent on time and never bounced a check. They refused saying they were too busy. My family has been living in a house managed by Dimensions in Real Estate for several years now. The reason why? We cannot afford to move out. The carpet was not redone and the walls were not repainted despite being in abhorrent condition before we moved in. This was the very least of our concerns. The hinges on nearly every single door and cabinet needed to be replaced, and we had to do that on our own. The bathroom is covered in mold, the sink hardly works, and the floor dents and bubbles, threatening to fall through at any moment. There is a fire alarm and carbon monoxide detector in the hallway but not in the kitchen. There has been an instance in which both alarms went off while I was cooking on the stove. We have offered to replace the stove and oven ourselves, but we were told we couldn't get rid of the clearly faulty and dangerous one. When our neighbor sued the company for similar complaints along with one of the employees continuously playing Peeping Tom on her, our rent went up. We feel too afraid to complain because we cannot afford an increase in rent and it takes so long for anything to be done, anyways. This is a slumlord company with no regard for their tenants in the slightest. read more

Avoid this property management! I'm currently renting a condo from them now and I am VERY unhappy. My roommate found mold growing on the walls and I immediately contacted maintenance to get the place tested. Why it took them 4 days to get an inspector to look at the property is beyond my belief. By that time the mold had spread across the entirety of the wall, into the bathroom, and onto the carpet and tile. Still we were advised "this isnt an emergency." We are now staying at a hotel ONLY because we got in touch of the owner of the condo (Dimensions never called us after the inspection despite numerous phone calls and messages). I can't wait for the lease to end next month. read more

If it was possible to give negative stars, I would. Dimensions in RE "managed" my elderly mother's condo for many, many years and never laid eyes on the property or advised her to raise the rent. They DID however continue to take their monthly "management fee". It should be called the "non-management fee" since they never earned a dime of it. Finally, we stepped in and fired them. At least we are now getting an appropriate rent and keeping the entire amount! Run the other way if you are considering hiring this company to manage anything. read more

One of most unprofessional businesses we have ever dealt with. Back on the weekend of 10/1/2016 Dimensions had their mailbox was broken into and all the mail, including the rent checks, were stolen, including ours. We didn't know about this until I contacted Dimensions on 10/10/2016 to inquire on why our rent check wasn't cashed. Their agent Dana informed me on what happened and I asked why we weren't notified about the theft and she said she didn't think no one would be home. We stopped payment on the initial check and sent another one minus the $25 stop payment fee. The next day we received a call from Dimensions on why our rent check was short $25. I explained to them that due their mailboxes being broken into and our rent check being stolen, we had to put a stop payment to protect ourselves. From there the conversation went south. They first told us we didn't have to put a stop payment on our check. I was taken a back by what she said and I then explained once the rent check is in your possession(in the mailbox) you are responsible. She was saying how they weren't responsible and then accused us by saying how do we know you even sent your rent check. You would think with dealing with Dimensions for over 25 years and all the times our checks were cashed by them, the one time their mailboxes get broken into, they claim we didn't send our rent. Of course they never said that when we initially talked to the few days prior and why it took 10 days for us to learn their mailboxes were broken into. She then mentioned we should drop our rent there at the office. Well, at one time we used to that by putting our rent into the mail slot in the office door but stop doing that after to their office was broken into by their door being broken out. You would think with Dimensions only being open Monday thru Thursday, they would have someone go pick up the mail on the days they're not open, especially during the time when people mailed out their rent checks. I don't think they truly understands how much of a disaster this could've been if those stolen rent checks were forged and cashed. Honestly, I don't know what's worse, having our rent check stolen or not having the business stand by it's customers. *UPDATE: Soon after this incident the police contacted us to let us know they arrested the individual that broke into Dimensions mailbox and they recovered our check. This proves we did mail our rent check and they did get it. read more

Avoid this company at all costs! They are for the owner, NOT renter. I was told I would receive my security deposit back within 2 weeks as there was NOT any damage and the place looked great. Upon sending numerous emails/phone calls, I finally am notified the deposit return check is ready for me on day 21. Dimensions in Real Estate is SUCH a rip-off. They withheld over $2,500 of my deposit for normal things which had to be performed anyway before the next tenant moves in as in routine painting and carpet cleaning. I was completely mislead and their maintenance customer service department is the WORST in getting back to you in a timely fashion. Horrible company. read more

We rented from Dimensions for over 5 years and did not really have any issues. We gave a 60 day vacate notice, due to my wife's employment changes. I am writing this review for Dimensions Property Management, this property management company did not scrutinize us over our security deposit. Like everyone knows having to move will put you into a little bit of a financial hardship; so when we received 90% of our security deposit back, we were very grateful. Dimensions was open with communication and honest about the security deposit procedures and followed through with what they said. I received and itemized list detailing where the money was spent and what repairs/cleaning their contractors had to do. My only complaint would be their maintenance men. However, this wouldn't stop me from renting from Dimensions again. read more

We rented from Dimensions for 2 years and didn't really have any issues. We were given a 60 day vacate notice because our homeowner decided to sell our home due to continuous maintenance issues. The house was rented was old and beginning to fall apart. I'm only writing a YELP review because this is the first property management company in many years who did not try to rob us of our security deposit. Unexpectedly, having to move put my family and I into a little bit of a financial hardship. My husband and I were shocked when we received 75% of our security deposit back. Dimensions was open with communication and honest about the security deposit procedures and followed through with what they said. I received and itemized list detailing where the money was spent and what repairs/cleaning their contractors had to do. My only complaint would be their maintenance men. Over the course of living in our home we had to have quite a bit of maintenance done. My husband being a contractor probably makes me a little more picky than others. The quality of work done by their maintenance crew was definitely lacking, jobs seemed to be rushed and sloppily done. However, this wouldn't stop me from renting from Dimensions again. read more

You'd think property managers would want to get a house rented. I've been trying for weeks to get ahold of them. The only communication I got from them was an invite, along with several other people, for a showing where application fees would be taken on site. It's either a shady business or they're just lazy. Either way, I feel bad for the home owners as their house is just sitting vacant while prospective tenants can't get ahold of anyone at their office. I realize they don't really care about the renters as they get their money from the owners. But I think a smart owner will know that driving your tenants out will in the end be more expensive. Also, not addressing problems (like a hole in the wall of the shower since the day we moved in that we called 4 times about with no action, which I'm sure is collecting mold in the walls) will also cost more to fix later rather than sooner. Experience was terrible from start to finish. When we moved in the house was filthy and there was trash left throughout the house. I didn't complain but I did put it in my walk through paperwork. We had a professional maid clean the house twice a month while we lived there and then had her clean again after we moved out. Dimensions then charged me for cleaning after we moved out. My issue is that 1) the house was clearly cleaner when we left than when we moved in and 2) based on the state of the house when we moved in I doubt they actually used the money they charged me to clean the house. Also, while we lived there, we rarely made any maintenance requests, we'll handle most things ourselves. But when we did call, the maintenance manager didn't know anything about maintenance. We also had to call at least two or three times to actually get any action out of them. Finally, we overpaid the last months rent. Its now been about a month since we moved out and we are still waiting for them to return the overpaid rent. Glad to be out of one of their properties! read more

Place seems sketchy at best. They round up as many people as they can into a 1 hour showing, and collect a "credit check" fee of $30 from each person. Then they show all applications to the owner, and they choose amongst the tens or hundreds of people who pay in to this cash cow. This is not how homes are supposed to be shown. First come, first serve basis, qualified individuals get the home. This is not a "pay up front to enter a fucking talent show". read more

I've only dealt with Karen and Bernard and while Bernard is polite in person and over the phone, he has miscalculated my prorated rent twice now- once moving in and the second time moving out when I got my deposit back. Upon getting approved for an apartment located in El Cajon I was given an amount for a deposit and an amount for my prorated rent. I immediately got two money orders and turned them in. The day I went to sign the lease and get the keys I was told I was $52 short by someone other than Bernard. Conveniently, he was not in the office at the time. Their vendors, particularly the carpet cleaning vendor, is terrible but that's for another review. Six months later I had to break my lease and move out. Once again, I spoke to Bernard to get the prorated rent amount so that I could be knowledgeable of how much I would get back from my deposit and again my deposit came up short. I also had a problem with their carpet cleaning vendor and after letting Bernard and Karen know they seemed to not care much and said that I would have to take it up with the vendor. I have never been late on my rent or had any tenant problems for that matter. I lived alone and never had company and they still were not helpful. I was completely underwhelmed with their customer service skills and would NEVER recommend them to anyone, unless of course you like explaining yourself repeatedly trying to prove certain conversations you've had with them (including the vendor). Apparently, they have short term memory loss as well. Bad customer service and even worse vendors. Lesson learned on my part. read more

Dealing with dimensions real estate was one of the worst experience of being a renter in my life I highly encourage you not to use them.. After looking at a rental in my area, and speaking with the agent showing the property, who was quite Pleasant , I filled out a application, I spoke with her about the animals I had and as they did except pets. She wasn't sure the owner will be ready to except the amount that I had so she said she would have to check, I dropped of my application's and credit deposit for 5 adults. Then I decided I would look them up on yelp to see the reviews. There some of the reviews weren't positive ones, I was pleasantly surprised one of the agents contact me and had checked with the owner first to see if my 5 pets be OK and at this time that large amount was a few more then he wanted, which I completely understood. They were kind enough to let me know and not run my credit and let me know I could pick up my credit deposit and application's. So I would like to give 4 stars and a good review. I would work with this company again if needed, they were polite and professional! read more

I've lived for nearly two years in a duplex managed by Dimensions and I'm moving out only because I got a job in a different state. I can't speak to the poor reviews on Yelp but I can say that my experiences with everyone at this company (including Dana, Karen, and Roger) have been wonderful. The place was well-maintained when I moved in, and I've always had fast responses when I've requested maintenance. At one point, I had problems with my neighbors (who have rented for a much longer time). They called up Dimensions and the owner came out to talk with me directly rather than just side with the long-term renters. He realized that their complaints were entirely baseless and wrote them a politely but strongly worded letter telling them so. I was impressed by how professionally this was handled. Best of all, this company understands that pets are part of the family. Thanks for a great two years. read more
