Derik (on-site property manager) was fantastic to work with, and when things went wrong - which they inevitably do at ANY property - he and Bill (owner) were on it like white on rice. Communication was great throughout, rent was competitive, and Bill/Derik were attentive to the needs of the ~40 unit community for both specific issues and big-picture concerns. The apartment itself wasn't the flashiest (ex. no dishwasher), but it had a good layout and it was well-cared for by the owners. We were more than satisfied with what it did have. I held off on this review until check-out was completed just in case it was a disaster. It was anything but! It could not have gone better and our deposit refund was also an extremely positive experience. Countywide's approach is exactly how a property SHOULD be managed. After 9 years, we only left because we needed to move closer to my newly-disabled father to help him and my mom in Poway. Otherwise, we would have stayed put. Even then, we were hesitant to leave; great management is hard to find (thankfully, the last two months at our new place have shown us our careful searching paid off and we've lucked out again, this time with a private owner). If we need to move again, I will check Countywide's website for managed properties first before starting a wider search. Make an effort to respect the unit, the community, and the management and you will get so much out of living at Village Terrace or a sister property of theirs! We did!
