Sleazy business. What a rip off! Online prices are different. My small Oniion rings advertised $5.50 but charged $7.50. No way are they good enough for that price. I have been a long time customer and put up with cold onion rings numerous times plus they are greasy, very greasy so no more. My wallet and waist will thank me. Came in here, quite honestly, because it was the first food spot Waze came up with when I asked for suggestions (not being from the area). No frills, typical mom and pop sub shop. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food came out quick. Italian sub was very good and roast beef was delicious. Love the seeded bun and rare roast beef that melts in your mouth. Incredible food and service. I hadn't been to Dina's in a while and stopped by today for the double decker roast beef. I asked for it to be cooked as I don't like rare and they cooked it perfectly. I also ordered a small pizza which was delicious but the best of all was the gyro; I haven't had a gyro this fresh and delicious in a long time. The pita, lettuce and tzatziki were incredibly fresh and the meat was melt in your mouth good. I know where I'm going from now on when I'm craving a gyro. read more

I have been going here for a few months and love the roast beef triple sandwich. I ordered pastrami a couple of times. This time I thought I was seeing a small and not a super. I called back and asked. That's what you got. Nevertheless I started to eat my pastrami and almost every bite was non edible grisly like a rubber band. Still not happy with the size, I had to take a picture of my wife's Roastbeef and my pastrami. You tell me that I'm wrong at 6.50 each sandwich. I will not go back there for a while. I don't mind paying for good quality food. That's well below the quality I'm use to. Who ever buys your beef and if you buy it already as is and just cut it, your not the place for me. I've been going to Dina's for 2 years -- until now. Time to really rate them. I told myself I would never go back because they never ever use gloves and I have had some dry-ass roast beef sandwiches there; but it's Salem.... And the roast beef here is simply inconsistent. So Dina's food is okay, and in fact one time I had one of the best roast beef sandwiches I've ever had... but as I said, they are pretty inconsistent with that. I was going because it was very convenient, and occasionally the food can be great. On my last visit, I ordered a super roast beef and a haddock sandwich. As soon as I bit into the haddock, my first mouthful had two 2" long pieces of fish spine in it. They were sharp, easily could have cut my mouth, and I completely lost my appetite. I also lost my patience, as it happened 3 TIMES out of the maybe 5 times I've gotten haddock there. This time, I thought "ugh you must be kidding me". I brought it back, but I was refused any compensation for the completely uneaten sandwich I had sitting there in a bag on the counter. Before asking if I wanted another one or anything, the cooks were arguing with the girl at the counter over it. She apologized for them and said the owner would call; so glad I left my number for no reason, since I didn't get a call. When you order a chicken sandwich, you don't get chicken wings in a bun, and have to pull bones out as you eat. Because you don't eat the bones. Because it's a sandwich. Because sandwiches are things that you eat completely. Because you aren't supposed to pick things out of your mouth while you're chewing. I actually told my roommate that I knew they were going to take it as an insult, but I thought I would at least get a refund/they would offer to make another sandwich(which I would have turned down). The roast beef was horrible too, it was really tough and about half the meat came out of the sandwich when I took one bite. There was also very little meat... It's 2012, if you want to operate a business, you can't just tell your customer to piss off if they don't like what they've paid you for. They shouldn't have argued, they should have offered a refund or to make me a new sandwich. I was a regular customer, I will never go back, and I will let every ear know not to go as well. Though I cant speak for the seafood, I can certainly support Dina's roast beef. In an area inundated with roast beef joints, this place certainly holds its own. The staff is friendly and the prices fairly average, making this place a frequent stop for me. Unlike some of the other RB joints around, Dina's rarely gets too busy, letting me get my fix fast. Getting delivery can be risky, or even carrying it home as well. Some of the sandwiches are quite juicy and tend to leak/soak your bread if you're not careful. Although the staff is friendly, on more than one occasion myself or friends have had parts of our order forgotten. That being said I still go here enough to warrant my roommate demanding I get something else besides a big beef, so I branched out to buffalo fingers, another personal favorite. When I lived in Salem I went to Dina's once a week for about 6 years, and after leaving I come back every few months or so and come to Dinas at least once every time, ordering for pickup. They have the best chicken finger sub w/bbq sauce I've eaten on the North Shore, it's been delicious every single time. I'll give them three stars because the person I ordered on the phone with was very pleasant and they offer very prompt delivery. However, the Buffalo chicken wrap needs work. The sauce isn't what I'm used to for a buffalo sauce. It was kind of a watered down product - more of an oil based dressing than a thicker sauce. It wasn't great. Unfortunately they were a few minutes behind but came with an extra pie and an apology to make up for it which were greatly appreciated. My coworkers and I have been ordering from this place every week sometimes more than once a week for a while now. We have always had great service and food when we ordered from them until the last time we ordered. I placed the order and one of the items was wrong when we received it so I called to let them know. Well after all the business we have given them you think they would have said, I'm really sorry for our mistake let me make it right. But all they did was argue with me about it saying we needed to pay extra money to get the right thing delivered to us after we already paid for the order. There are many Roast Beef places all over the North Shore and I have tried a great number of them throughout the years. One place I always go back to is Dina's Roast Beef in Salem. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food and the quality of their service. Their hot roast beef sandwiches are unparalleled by any other restaurant in the area. Not only do these roast beefs taste the best, but they give you very generous portions. Many places skimp on the amount of meat, but Dina's always loads you up. Their french fries are always cooked to perfection and they also make a great chicken kebob sub. One thing that sets Dina's even further apart from the rest however, is their incredible customer service. I highly recommend this place! read more

Sending time...deliver my too over 1.5 hours, half of our order wasn't even here (driver gave it to the house before us), and to top it if the food was cold. There are a few younger women who work here they are very pleasant I think one of the men who works in the kitchen is the owner but he never tells his wife not to argue with the customers..I remember I asked for extra dressing and she went on to tell me how its not free I legit was like wow I just gave you $50 bucks for all my dinners she wouldn't give it to me without charge. I've been a Dina's customer for years. Love the food when I order in the restaurant. However the last two times I've had delivery (tonight included) the food arrives luke warm or cold. I'm talking about subs and fries. So after a few weeks ago since our last problem, I figured I'd give them one more try. I even spoke to the person taking my order about my hesitancy to order again. And still my steak tip sub and fries are luke warm. And the bag arrives wet and ripped. I called the restaurant, asked to speak to a manager, for which no one was available. I voiced my disappointment and the person was "sorry that I felt that way". The correct answer is "How can I make it right?" My original instinct was right. Their take out menu is no longer in my house. Spending $30 two different times for a cold meal just really irritates me. You'll have to do much better to take my money Dina's. read more

If you choose to go here, at least be aware that they don't give a crap about getting you your order the way you asked for it, because they are too focused on getting the order of the customer behind you. The food is poor. One of the items we ordered was a grilled chicken salad - the salad had a lettuce core IN it, and the grilled chicken was grisly. Beyond the contents, the salad had feta on it, which we had SPECIFICALLY requested not to be placed on it. Oh yeah, they charged us extra for onions. Maybe if they weren't focused on the customer behind you all the time, they might've gotten the order right. We also ordered a large turkey sub. I don't know whether they got sidetracked or what, but there were only three pieces of meat in it. THREE. For a large sub. As if this were not enough, the female owner was a (well, lets keep it in terms of the city) a witch. When we asked for extra condiments, and then refused them when we realized we would be charged extra, the lady got all riled up and started pontificating LOUDLY in front of other customers how she was a BUSINESS woman, running a BUSINESS.
