Omelette is delicious and the service was great! It didn't have too much salt on home fries but that worked perfect because I just added a little! Would come back again!

This cute old fashioned diner is reminiscent of a little diner my mom and I used to frequent in Bay Ridge called Hinsh's luncheonette : old fashioned booths, pictures of food that is served, old fashioned register, red leather stools at the counter. Very vintage themed diner.. the diner is nestled in an eclectic block that houses a glatt kosher market, a kosher bakery, a really nice pasta restaurant, Steven's Pasta and smoke shops. When you enter this charming place there are specials on a blackboard and numerous booths and tables. We were seated at a booth and given menus promptly. This was our breakfast before hitting the beach. We both decided we wanted eggs. There are numerous omelette options especially " spa themed" that serve egg whites, rise and shine specials and of course bagels, French toast, oatmeal and other diner delicacies. My friend decided to order two poached eggs with home fries and toast. She enjoyed her meal with a large glass of iced coffee. I ordered one of the spa special omelette: egg white with spinach and mozzarella with grits and substituted toast with lettuce and tomatoes with house dressing. I really enjoyed my omelette but it seemed less egg white and more fried. The coffee was fresh and piping hot. The restaurant was hopping and filled with locals and Labor Day visitors. We watched waiters serving huge portions of toast, eggs and mouth watering shakes. The Rise and Shine specials are really worth it: you can choose for example, 2 eggs with home fries or grits and toast and coffee for $8. I dined in that the next day before hitting the beach. This diner is everything you expect from a diner: cozy dining with comfort food served daily. The ambience is cool and courteous service. If you're looking for a quick meal or take away bite before hitting the beach, then this diner definitely serves that purpose.

Picture perfect milkshakes and they taste just as good as they look. This place is a hidden gem in Long Beach within walking distance to the beach. A must try if you're in Long Beach during the summer.

Have been hearing about the shakes at DBTS for years. Finally got around to checking them out for myself and I was unimpressed. Let me start off by saying that I do appreciate that they aren't going over the top with their shakes. The shakes here are more affordable and more appetizing than the $15 diabetic shock shakes found in many burger spots these days. (The milkshakes here are $8.) But unfortunately, in my opinion, not worth the price. The shake I had was neither thick nor creamy. My Nutella shake had the consistency of chocolate milk. It was lacking in flavor and just not very exciting. I did enjoy the little tiara clip served on top... but I wouldn't willingly pay $8 for that. The fries were crispy and had a good taste. My friend had the same opinion on her Cake Batter shake. She said hers was watery and she barely touched it. $22 not very well spent. At least we had each other's company?

Hi Friends. Our trips to Long Beach, introduced us some new Diners and Breakfast spots. "Dinner by the Sea" in Long Beach was next on our list I love simple, Home-spun, neighborhood joints. Dinner by the Sea is where many locals go. The rise and shine breakfast special is what I usually order. It's only 8 bucks and includes 2 eggs, home fries, toast, coffee and don't forget, your choice of ham, bacon or sausages are included. I feel like one of the locals, sitting at the counter. I enjoy my breakfast watching the television, checking out the newspaper and relaxing before I start my day. Diner by the sea is also known for its delicious lunches, dinners and fancy tie-dye milkshakes and other kid-friendly fare. For a simple, straightforward down-to-earth breakfast "Diner by the Sea" in Long Beach, Long Island. .. Sea you at the counter for breakfast.

The best BLT in Long Beach. Quick service and nice staff. Sometimes I feel it's a bit pricey but what isn't these days?

My first impression was just how big it is! There are multiple levels of seating and a large bar, giving it a lively atmosphere. I was honestly surprised to see how busy it was on a weekday morning, but that only got me more excited, it usually means a place has built a loyal following for a good reason. With only two stomachs to work with, we wanted to try as much as possible. We ordered eggs over medium with bacon, home fries, and toast, a short stack of pancakes with sausage, and biscuits and gravy. I'll just say it, this place knows how to make breakfast. Everything we ordered was done really well, and I honestly don't have many notes. The biscuits and gravy were excellent. The gravy was rich and flavorful, and the biscuit was soft, buttery, and the perfect pairing. I'm not usually a pancake person, but these were fantastic. Add some real maple syrup and a bite of sausage, and it was the perfect combination. I also can't finish this review without mentioning the Bloody Marys. If you're a Bloody Mary fan, these are elite. Seriously, one of the best I've had. We'll definitely be back.

I am not a coleslaw person (like... ever), but this one changed me. The veggies were crisp, the dressing was perfectly balanced -- not too sweet, not too heavy -- and honestly, I could eat a tub of it and not get tired. Character development unlocked. We decided to share the Heartburn Wrap, which was definitely big enough for two. Minor user error on my part -- I thought it came with pastrami and hot peppers, but apparently I ordered it wrong. That one's on me, and trust and believe I'm running it back next time the correct way. We also shared the matzo ball soup and let me tell you... it tasted like somebody's bubbe made it with love and a little bit of magic. Straight up warm hug in a bowl. Service-wise, our server wasn't exactly warm and fuzzy -- but honestly, I didn't come here to make friends. I came to eat, and on that front, Lido's absolutely delivered. Bottom line: phenomenal food, generous portions, and we will 100% be back. Must try.

The food here is in a word fantastic. I looked around at what people were eating- incredible overstuffed sandwiches, onion rings like you've never seen- I opted for the stuffed cabbage entree-it came with a cup of soup- my choice was mushroom barley, and two sides. I chose the kasha varnishkas and some egg noodle thing... and of course I had to have a Dr Brown's Black Cherry. Since The Carnegie Deli there has never been a more authentic Jewish deli. The waiters were wonderful all with distinct personalities... I must come back for brunch. I'm fantasizing about latkes and Apple sauce now. Or maybe a lox and onion omelette? This place is special. For some reason this won't let me check ambiance- well this place has fantastic ambiance- a jewel of Long Beach.
