Upon entering, I thought it was an interesting setup because I assumed that this spot was a restaurant/(dive)bar. Turns out it is a restaurant in a liquor store...or maybe it's a liquor store in a restaurant. I'll admit that this misunderstanding was on me. Someone suggested the restaurant, and I did not do any follow-up research. Although the restaurant is connected to a liquor store, you cannot consume alcohol inside. But, I guess that was not a deal breaker because I was more interested in some good ol' BBQ. At the counter, I started to look over the menu because there were quite a lot of interesting items. They have a long list of various BBQ/meat items and a bunch of sides. For my dining pleasure, I went with the two meat (general BBQ and sausage), two sides combo (greens and mac n cheese), which was about 18 bucks. The price for the amount of food wasn't too bad. To be frank the food was not what I expected. Ok, the food was not horrible, but I think that I might have set my expectations too high. Normally, when I think of Texas BBQ, I think of meat that is slowly cooked so that it's very tender. The meat here seemed like it was cooked on a grill and mixed with BBQ sauce immediately prior to serving. To me, the meat was a bit tougher than what I have normally experienced in most BBQ restaurants. Perhaps, the restaurant was having a bit of an off day during our visit.

At Minister, they are located in the Courtyard (up a few steps and outside of the Brewery/Bar area) Ordered the Benson-solid Double patty Burger (total 6 oz) with Bacon, sautéed onions, Cheddar with their special sauce taking it over the top. The Beermore-Brat with a few toppings including Sauerkraut & Tri colored peppers-tasty. Order took about 10-15 minutes. They were starting to pick up at the Brewery so, if you want food, better to order early to avoid a wait. Their menu covers a few bases and I saw an order of the Pulled Pork Buckin Fries that looked like a work of art. Friendly and engaging service with a few offerings to compliment your Brewery visit.

The beef was sliced out of an alto shaam (hot box) rather than off a pit. The result was nicely cooked, if not a little cool, beef that really lacked any pit flavor/texture. While I did like the textures of their other meats, some of Canopy's dishes could use some extra seasonings, especially their ribs. You can fix it yourself with some added salt and sauce, but it does feel like something is missing when you bite into them as they are.
