Another boba shop in the valley has popped up and it's a popular one that I've already been here three times since their grand opening back in late August. So far I've has their passion fruit green tea and lychee green tea. The first time the lychee green tea it was really good and refreshing, but the second time I ordered the same drink and tasted a little bit off. Like the water wasn't filtered and came from the tap. Passion fruit green tea was good my 3rd time here albeit a tad too sweet even with 70% sweetness. I like that there menu is simple and not overwhelming like other boba shops with pages and pages of drinks. Also, that you can adjust the sweetness and ice level to your liking. The shop is nestled between 99 Ranch Market and Pho So 1. Some stool seating against the walls and windows but not really a hang out spot. I like that they have a very open layout so you can see them making your drinks to order. They also take phone orders if you want to skip the wait during peak hours. read more

With boba and tea shops popping up as fast as Starbucks, you don't expect to be much variation among them. Ding Tea being an international chain should bring some uniqueness and international flair that domestic shops may not have. First time trying Ding Tea today and overall, it's just another tea shop. There were three workers when I walked in around noon, all of whom acknowledged me and greeted me which was nice! I ordered the matcha milk tea with boba, half sugar and slight ice. I don't see many boba shops offering that so it was nice to have such wide options and they actually did follow the instructions! A minute or two after ordering and my drink was ready. Smooth green tea flavor, chewy boba, just enough sweetness at the half level and just enough ice at the "slight" amount request. Can't complain and have nothing to complain about, it's a decent drink but I wouldn't come back let alone go out of my way to come back. read more

Parking: decent parking but does get busy around lunch time. I always come around 12 and it gets pretty crowded here at Ding Tea. I'm sure everyone's picking up boba after they do grocery shopping. I like this place and they have golden boba which I like a less than normal honey boba. Golden boba seems less sweet to me. Their drinks are good. read more

I had the guava green tea with boba and I enjoyed it! The tea tasted great and the boba was soft and chewy (they use golden boba, it tasted the same as regular boba but instead of black it was a golden/yellow color, but I'm not sure how it is made). However, my friend who had the matcha milk tea said it was a little gritty. And my friend who had the Hokkaido milk tea said it was really good. The store is pretty small. Seating-wise there are eight stools inside. They made our drinks really quickly so we didn't have to wait long. There were a few people in line when we came here after grocery shopping because it's located right next to Ranch 99. Also I feel like the regular size cups are kind of small compared to some other boba places. But overall, I enjoyed my drink and I would come again. read more

If you haven't tried golden boba before then I strongly recommend you make your way over to Ding Tea and get a taste of their brown sugar boba goodness! It is not too sweet and very aesthetically pleasing. Their teas are also legit, with many classic Taiwanese flavors offered (e.g., wintermelon milk tea, etc). My favorites so far include their ginger longan tea, their Hokkaido black milk tea, and their jasmine green milk tea. read more

I decided to stop by after doing grocery next door, and it turned out to be quite cute. The drinks were reasonably priced, and they tasted similar to those from other boba shops, nothing too out of the ordinary. It's a good spot to grab a refreshing drink. The staff was patient and willing to assist in choosing a drink if needed. read more

This is one of the best boba places in the valley! You can shop around at 99 Ranch Market, then get a boba here. I liked all the drinks I had here -- passionfruit slush, honey milk tea and signature milk tea with golden boba. The honey milk tea was a little too sweet for my taste because of how much honey they add to the drink, so I would probably get it with less (70%) or half the sugar level next time. The signature milk tea was not nearly as sweet as the passionfruit slush and honey milk tea, so it's good for people who don't like their teas that sweet. My favorite, by far, was the passionfruit slush. It seems like they use syrups here, but the flavor and consistency of it was just perfect. If you want to try the best boba spot in the Valley, you've come to the right place ! Came early on grand opening day for the raffle and free glass bottles, and it was totally worth it! Was instantly greeted by all the employees upon walking in. I loved all the aesthetic decorations and cute boba balloon--so many picture perfect spots. Although the line was long, staff pushed through every order efficiently and fast allowing me to only have to wait a few minutes. Everyone made me feel welcome! Teas are really good at this place! We ordered Taro Latte tea with Oat milk and Boba and Ginger hot tea with syrup, well both of those were really tasty and just right. Service is nice and polite. Came here after brunch with my boyfriend and his friends - it's a new spot with plenty of options to choose from. I like how despite the small shop, they make use of the wall for decor and aesthetics. The staff were cool and the process of ordering was smooth - I had my boyfriend get me a taro milk tea. The taro here doesn't have a super strong taste, and was well made and creamy. I think that with time this spot will gain some traction! read more

I ordered 2 Jasmine Green Milk Tea with less ice, regular sugar and 25% sugar. But both of the tea taste pretty much the same. The tea had order stickers on them so my order read wrong and also made wrong according to the sugar level on the sticker on teas. read more

I love coming here for tea! Opens earlier than most other tea places in my area (the others open at noon) so this one is a favorite when I want tea before noon. The staff are always helpful and kind. Very nice coming here. The only thing I dislike about coming here is the parking lot. All of the parking spots are 'compact' and even then they are extra small, so lots of people park their large cars in there and it becomes a s**t-show... Love the tea place, tho. Parking isn't their fault. haha read more

Im so happy that theres a Ding Tea in the Valley! I no longer have to drive to SGV or OC for legit boba anymore! I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon they were pretty busy but I got in and out pretty fast. All the staffs there were really friendly and fun to deal with. Shout out to Andrea for recommending the Hokkaido Oolong milk tea. That drink was BUSSIN. I usual go to drink is signature milk tea but i wanted to try something new. I will definitely be back soon. Had the matcha milk tea with golden boba and 50/50 sugar ice. Not sure if they didn't have the typical black boba but when I asked for it, they gave me the golden boba which taste a little worse imo. The tea itself was good but still pretty sweet. Not sure how people would be able to drink it at 100% sugar level. The matcha was definitely prevalent but I'm not really an expert on matcha so not sure about the quality. Overall, good tea and nice atmosphere. Definitely more of a to-go place as the sitting area is pretty small. A nice stop if you're going to ranch 99. read more

Been here several times, usually after shopping at 99 ranch. Service is good - Attentive and prompt. I will say I did not like the Hokkaido Milk tea at all. Way too sweet. I've made the mistake of ordering it more than once. But other than that I do like their drinks. The bobas are not the typical dark ones, rather they are more clear white, but not overly sweet. Today I got the peach oolong tea less sweet with boba and my MIL got a hot oolong tea with no sugar. MIL didn't say anything good nor bad but I'm guessing it was just so so as far as tea goes. I liked mine though I am careful to get half sweet otherwise it's way too sweet for me. read more

I usually judge a boba place by ordering my usual drink that I get: Wintermelon Milk tea (or black tea. Depending on my mood), 0% sweetness, Less Ice, with agar boba/crystal boba. (Yeah. I'm one of those types They really hit the nail with this one for me. It's now one of my favorite places where I can get my usual order and the taste will always be consistent. This boba/coffee place is so small I didn't even know it existed until recently! However, I'm really glad I finally tried it out. The prices are good and so are the drinks. I really liked what I've tried here so far. The workers are very nice and the shop itself is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Both times I've come here, I haven't had to wait a long time at all. I've always went to the Ding Tea in Hollywood and Eagle Rock so I had high hopes for this location. I got the monster bobo tea, which wasn't even written on the menu. I should've found that as a hint to not even order that. It came watery, not sweet, and bland. The workers seemed inexperienced with the recipes because I asked them to make me a regular milk tea and it was also bad. I know it's not their original recipe, as I have been going to their other locations and am a regular. I love ding tea, but I will never be going to this location again. read more

I wish they can be more generous with the portion of the boba, they increased the price from 50 cents to 75 then now 85 cents to add boba, and they expect tips but when you ask for a little extra boba, they wouldn't give it to you, the boba drink now costs $8-9 for a large size- too pricy for a sugary drink. Quite disappointed and most likely won't go back to this location again unless too desperate. Sorry. read more

Ding Tea is amazing! I enjoy having their matcha milk tea after having some Pho, it always hits the spot! I don't usually enjoy boba much but their golden boba is unbelievably good! They also have a sweetness and ice level you can pick, so you can customize your drink however you'd like. The whole place just has a nice vibe and I'm always up to go there. Super cute location between 99 ranch and Pho So 1! There are lots of photo spots for your boba which is a huge plus. Also the upgrade from a regular (500mL) to a large (700mL) is just a small price ~$0.65!! The jasmine green tea milk tea was very fresh and light. The boba is also chewy and warm since there are lots of people constantly coming to get drinks so I think it is also made pretty regularly. There is a small parking lot with free parking but the spaces are kind of tight. read more

Came here a few weeks ago after getting a quick bite with some friends at Pho So 1 next door. It was my first time there and I was recommended a wintermelon milk tea with cheese cream and boba and I have to say, I HAVE to come back for it. It tasted like a mix between vanilla ice cream and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal milk. The staff was really friendly and it looked like they had a Hawaiian theme going on that day. First impressions matter. We have been active followers of DingTea on Instagram for months now, sending our friends their posts, patiently awaiting their opening in Van Nuys. We were SO excited to try this place out, even marking their opening in our calendar. The drinks looked DELISH in their photos and we simply could not wait!!! We had our first Ding Tea tonight and unfortunately it probably will be our last. The Thai Tea with boba had absolutely no flavor and tasted watered down. The Hazelnut Milk Tea made my tongue itch and I'm definitely not allergic to nuts or dairy...A big let down. I have ordered similar drinks from other boba places in the past and have never had this type of reaction before. All in all, SO disappointing and SO bland. Hopefully Ding Tea's performance and flavors will improve because we want to see them succeed, but I don't know if we will stay around to witness that improvement. Please actually provide what you promote and post on social media. :( read more

So happy that there's a ding tea in van nuys now! I don't have to go so far. What an amazing opening! The line was so long that it wrapped around the pho so 1 restaurant! So, congratulations to them for handling the craziness so well during Grand Opening! Grand opening is usually super hectic but the team did so well! Excellent customer service and quick! Didn't wait too long for our drinks when I came during early morning opening. The winter melon milk tea was so good! It's by far my favorite drink here! read more

Very disappointed. I've ordered two drinks first one: brown sugar milk tea with boba and coffee jelly. Milk tea I can't taste any brown sugar flavor in it, doesn't seem like there's any different than a regular milk tea. Then the store forgot to add the coffee jelly in it, after I've repeated my order three times (it's also on the label they printed out) Second drink was hot matcha milk tea, it's pretty normal just a bit too sweet when I put for slight sweet. The drinks are whatever I'm more disappointed in the people who works in it. And I let her know in the future you guys should really pay attention to what your making, label the cups or leave receipts under the drinks if it's going to be a problem asking which drink is what? The employee then replied "well I didn't even make it, sooo ...." And I replied that's great to know but that's really not the point here, someone with a real food allergy could be allergic to nuts and you guys not caring nor knowing which drink is what drink is the real problem here. Of course you don't care, you down own the spot. You're not liable if someone dies from a food allergy now are you, ownership is. The whole interaction was just unpleasant and we became the problem for simply asking which latte had which milk. I thought that they would also have some breakfast items like egg, bacon, sausage, cheese etc..they didn't. They only had plain bagel and Cream Cheese. My Latte tasted very good, on the flip side the Croissant wasn't as warm and fresh as I wanted for it to be. I asked the ladies behind the counter to warm it up again. The muffin was very fresh and delicious. Lauren handed me the Latte and my goodies. I don't want to dock a star for the Croissant, but it could have been a lot more fresh. Place was clean, with one gender neutral restroom, inside and outside seating, and the price was right for the 3 items that I got. $14.00 in total plus my tip of $2.00. Street parking only, woman owned, beautiful art work on their walls by famous artists, merchandise for sale, and nice music from the 80's playing overhead. The main thing that stands out here is their 1987 coffee roaster which is the center piece of the cafe. They roast various single origin beans on a daily basis, so you know you can purchase some fresh coffee beans here. If you need your beans grounded, they do grind it for you depending on your brewing method. They have beans of light roast, medium roast and dark roast and sell by various weights for a very reasonable price. They also sell various tea leaves, baked goods (croissant, muffin, scones, bagel, Danish, coffee cake, Dessert Therapy cookies, and merchs. They also have a seasonable menu that changes. When I went, it was the Sakura season menu. Staff were all friendly and were very willing to answer any questions regarding the menu. Please note, the base coffee blend for each day varies and rotates on a daily basis For my visit, I tried ... 1. Buttered Coffee (4.5/5) The base coffee for the day was the Peru single origin, which was well-balanced; slightly sweet with a hint of tartness and nuttiness. They then add a chunk of butter into the coffee, which helps cut some of the acidity, but also is supposed to enhance the caffeine effect and give you additional energy from the fat. It does leave a layer of fat/oiliness so if you are not a fan of that, then this may not be for you. The butter did give it a subtle buttery flavor, which I personally liked. 2. Matcha with Sakura Cold Foam (4/5) The matcha was blended smoothly and was not grassy at all. The Sakura cold foam didn't really taste like Sakura (been to Japan, so know what real Sakura flavor should taste like), but instead, just tasted floral. 3. Columbia Supremo Whole Beans Full body and aromatic. Good for those who like to drink black coffee 4. Guatemala Huehuetenango Whole Beans: Crisp, acidic and a hint of nuttiness Glad I found this local roaster where I'll definitely be coming back to get some more fresh beans.
