Jalapeno burger
Robert K.

I had both dinner and breakfast at this place while passing through, and was amazed how good it was. Most of the food is simple, but it's prepared perfectly. The family running the place was so friendly they made us feel like we'd made new friends there, For dinner we had the chili and a jalapeno burger. The chili was great - closer to the kind of chili you'd find at a chili cook-off than a restaurant. The burger was tasty, and the flavors were well balanced. The breakfast was even better. After tasting the chili for dinner, I got a chili and cheese omelet, and my GF got the chicken fried steak. Both were very large portions, but they were so good we cleaned our plates. Also the hash browns were absolutely amazing. This is now going to be a stop we make every time we pass through here. Honestly if this place were in Vegas I'd be eating there every day.

This establishment was a godsend considering this town only has one other place that offers food (which is excellent) , and that's in the evening. The Dinky Diner offers breakfast and lunch. My BF and I had breakfast. I ordered a basic breakfast with eggs, bacon and toast and potatoes. The eggs were cooked perfectly and everything tasted delicious. The service was very good and the price was right.

Omelets were very good, Great food and service. Homemade right in front of you. Small town feel.

We were passing through town and it was really friggen' cold, so we opted to grab some food in between exploring. I ordered the club, while my friend got one of the last two veggie burgers. The food was good ol' diner comfort food, and the service was very pleasant. - with some tips of places to check out while in town. Only thing I'll say is that they were likely understaffed and they were cooking one table order at a time, which meant we waited about 30-35 minutes for ours. So my advice is to just not be in a rush in this sleepy ol' town.

Grilled chicken sandwich plus a dinner salad, and bacon cheeseburger with fries.

The food was exactly what one hopes a roadside diner will offer: classic, fresh and tasty.

Thanks gals for fast service & fresh food! Burgers, chx sandwich & fries all cooked to perfection and the town itself is fun to wander and explore. You don't feel like a gut bomb on the next big stretch to your next destination.

Every time I come into town Dinkys is a must for me. Small moms and pops diner. The restaurant is small but cozy and the service is ok. However I haven't been disappointed in the food as far but today I wasn't warned that there is raw onions in the house salad and I'm highly allergic to them so that wasn't good at all. Wish it did mention that on the menu but other than that food was goodWhen they have their BBQs, it's so delicious, maybe not fall off the bone, but still very good flavor. Love small restaurants like this. Prices are still AMAZING and at least they are not price gouging the public. Kudos to the owner for keeping it homely and affordable.

Zoning in near the DD

Goldfield put me in mind of The Twilight Zone in oh so many ways. That's not to say I didn't fall in love with the town, I did! The Dinky Diner made me think of the Twilight Zone episode where Barney Phillips is a cook (alien) and has a third eye lurking under his toque. No one in the DD had a third eye, or at least not one in the same location as Barney did back in '61. I did see a guy who looked like Jack Elam. Wait. No. Three guys who looked like Jack. (I can see the contrails, Art!) Okay, enough messing around. The Dinky Diner is top notch. All four of us would agree without qualification. Best road breakfast I've had in a long time ... the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. No masks anywhere in sight, just quality chars!

In these Covid-19 days, The Dinky Diner was perfect for take-out. She even brought it out to my RV. I enjoyed the chicken breast sandwich.

It's been a year, we're a month later this year than last, you can tell all the schools are out…read moreAHC was busy. Super service from the friendly staff at this cozy vintage cafe. Our fried steak country potatoes were outstanding. I was really impressed with the gravy wow it was the best. AHC also has a bakery the items in the display case were temping all looked fresh and delicious AHC will be moving just a couple doors down to a much larger location we'll check them out next trip

We had hoped to try this place for breakfast but it wasn't meant to be. Although the place was busy…read moreand packed, we were promptly seated once a table was available. So far so good! It took a few minutes of waiting but our waitress came by and took our order. We ordered fresh OJ while we decided what to eat. Unfortunately our waitress never came back to take our food order after we got our OJ. Around the 10min mark of waiting and wondering where our waitress was, we overheard the staff telling some of the customers that their systems were down and were not able to take orders or payment. Oddly, they only seemed to communicate this to guests who were waiting or standing in line. I saw one customer pay cash for their food while they let another customer go without asking for payment (they told him not to worry about it). However, I didn't see any of the staff communicate to patrons who were already seated, including us. After another 10min of waiting to see if someone would come by to tell us of the issue, we decided to just get up and leave after being there for almost 30 minutes. On our way out, we handed some cash to a random staff member to pay for the OJ, but she didn't even seem to care. Although I was excited to try their breakfast items, their service (or lack thereof) has turned me away from wanting to visit again. I understand you're busy and having your systems offline added to the chaos, but the staff could have easily just made an announcement to the whole restaurant (it's a small restaurant) about the issue, thanking people for their patience, and letting us know what to expect.

My Harley was thirsty, and so was I. temps above 100 had left me parched. Tonopah was my gas stop,…read moreso after taking care of that it was my turn. I had found Tonopah Brewing while searching for good food reviews, and found myself parking the bike a few minutes later. Plenty of booth and table seats inside, a dozen or so patrons already there, I found a stool at the lengthy bar. Two dozen brewtaps were visible on the wall, covering an array of tastes. The staff was great, friendly, quick with a smile, and made excellent suggestions on what frosty beverage might help rehydrate me. Tried a 5 beer sampler flight before settling on a fantastic red ale called Mucker Red. Looked over the menu and placed a food order, and got chummy with the red while I waited. The food arrived and I tossed it down my gullet along with another Mucker......a great combination. Even though I still had to make Las Vegas by midnight, I grabbed a six pack of Muckers for the road and stashed it on the bike. It was rather warm by the time I pulled into my drive, but a days worth of cooling off in the fridge and it was right back to awesome. Next time I'm traveling the Nevada 95 I'll be stopping in again for a repeat.
