Stopped by for a simple, classic breakfast before heading out. Friendly service! Came on Sunday 10am and waited about 15 min. The chicken fried steak and eggs and the Humphrey Bogart's Skillet were hearty meals that kept us full for hours. We also got a cinnamon roll to go, and even after a 6-hour drive it reheated well

We recently visited the Alabama Hills and Manzanar areas with the family, and upon arrival, we were on the hunt for breakfast. We stopped at another location down the street, and a kind lady referred us to see Jessie at the only breakfast spot in town- Alabama Hills Cafe & Bakery. They were very popular and due to mild windy weather they were only seating inside. We ordered takeout and ate at the picnic tables out front. The food was hot, tasty, fresh made to order eggs with large shareable portions. The to-go order from start to finish took about 20 minutes. There is a dirt parking lot next door, with a view of their rock people mural.

Great local coffee shop and bakery. Large portions, ample coffee refills, and free parking right in front of the restaurant. Located on a side street, it's tucked away off the main drag and took us a minute to find. Very friendly service and classic coffee shop ambiance. Great place to start the day!

We came in on a Saturday morning and they were only serving inside. We snagged the last table and waited. We ordered--hubs did the Humphrey Bogart and I ordered the cinnamon French toast with eggs and bacon. A lot of people come in to order takeout or look for a table as we waited. The food takes longer than anticipated. My eggs and bacon had been sitting for a bit as it was cold. The French toast is good, thick and house made. I gave a piece to Hubs as it's a lot of food. It's a traditional breakfast diner vibe. They're busy with locals and hikers coming through. Give it a try.

Always stop by this place when driving from San Diego to the Sierra Nevadas. T The employees are friendly every time we have come here. There's plenty of seating and from what I see it looks like the original location will expand to a second location just across the street. The food is delicious!! And there's a variety for menu items for those who love savory or sweet. There's also something for both meat eaters and non meat eaters haha I highly recommend stopping by here to grab a bit or some souvenirs to take home.

This is the coziest little place for breakfast and/or pastries! My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday morning before a day of hiking and were so impressed by the excellent menu, the quick service, and the amazing food. I had the Iron Man Scramble with fresh fruit and jalapeño cheddar toast, plus a cappuccino. My plate was so beautiful and colorful! The scramble was delicious, the fruit was fresh and flavorful, and the bread was out of this world. My husband had the breakfast burrito with bacon, and he was enamored! Plus, we sat by the window and were treated with a view of the mountains as we ate. We also grabbed a pastry to go- the peach blackberry tart was perfectly flakey and not too sweet. We will certainly be back on future trips to Lone Pine!

ALWAYS stop here if you can! Even if there is a long line...there is a reason folks are waiting for his amazing food! Today I discovered my "go-to" which is a grilled sandwich stuffed with 1/2 lb. of the deer paste with yummy cheese and sauteed onions and peppers! Oh wow! The ice tea is always perfect. Service is fast and nice especially for such a busy spot.

My friend had read amazing things about Alabama Hills Cafe & Bakery, so we had to make a stop during our roadtrip. They were very busy on a Sunday (late) morning. The interior had an old-school, cozy vibe with fun wall murals. The space was pretty small, but they also had some tables outside near the entrance. I ordered the Tomato Spinach Roll and Cherry Turnover to share with a friend. Both were tasty, but the Cherry Turnover really stole the show for me. The dough was perfectly flaky and the cherry filling was delicious. Would love to return for more one day!

Our group came in for dinner and sat in the back private area. The menu was limited which was fine with us. We ordered one expensive salad and one beer on tap, that's all pretty simple right. The wrong salad was brought out and I never received my beer. After a long wait we finally received the salad and the wrong beer on tap. We enjoyed our gathering but the service was lacking.

Explored the beautiful landscapes in Alabama Hills and stopped by this charming cafe & bakery. I enjoyed a slice of peach & blackberry cake which was so yummy and soft. My friend enjoyed his chicken fried steak sharing it could've been a little more tender but overall it was well seasoned and very enjoyable. House fries were also very flavorful. The star was definitely the gravy on both his plate and on top of the pillowy biscuits. Great portions, definitely took some food to go. Friendly service and charming interior. This is definitely a must stop in the area!

We stopped at this cafe for breakfast thrice while in Lone Pine. It's a cozy cafe and there's indoor as well as patio seating. It was quite crowded when we arrived but didn't have any wait time. We got the cinnamon French toast and the Spooks rock omelette on day one and Clint Eastwood skillet the next day along with a cinnamon latte all of which were amazing. We got the breakfast burrito with Chorizo and a ham and cheese croissant to go and it was delicious. We got a slice of the peach blackberry coffee cake all the days we were there it is quite scrumptious. Do give them a try when in the vicinity.

My family has been visiting Alabama Hills Cafe multiple times a year for more than 15 years, and we have never experienced more than a brief wait for a table. Today, we were told that the wait would be longer than usual, and staff took my phone number to notify us when a table became available. However, it is not the wait that was the issue. I am retired former law enforcement with service-related back injuries. After waiting outside for approximately ten minutes, the pain became severe, and I needed to sit in a chair with back support rather than the outdoor picnic benches. I asked if my family and I could sit separately so that I could alleviate the pain. My wife and daughter sat at one two-person table, and I sat at another. It was not ideal, but it was the only workable solution at the moment. Within two minutes of sitting down, three four-person tables opened up. My wife asked if we could move to one of those tables so we could sit together. The first waitress we spoke to said it would not be a problem, but another staff member later told us we could not move because there were people behind us on the wait list. We were already on the list and should have been given priority over parties who arrived after us. We had not yet received any food--only coffee--so relocating us to the same table would not have created significant additional work for the staff. Rather than showing understanding or considering our circumstances, we were repeatedly told, "No, you chose to sit separately," in a tone that felt dismissive and belittling. My daughter became visibly upset from seeing this disrespect from the staff, and she ultimately suggested that we leave. My wife and I are in our seventies, and I am disabled; while we do not expect special treatment, we do expect basic courtesy. When we walked out, several tables were still open. We left disappointed and disheartened. It is unfortunate that after decades of enjoying this restaurant as a family during our travels, this experience has ensured that we will not be returning. I sincerely hope that other patrons are treated with more consideration than we were.

Came here to get breakfast on a Saturday morning and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed even though the restaurant wasn't full. The breakfast menu looked okay- and I was interested in getting a breakfast burrito to go and some coffee, but I wasn't able to order food to go at the register. Cute paintings on the wall and a nice bustling atmosphere. The coffee was decent for diner coffee. Prices on the menu are listed for cash, paying with credit card costs 4% extra.

I mean for the last 6 years this has been a regular spot and nothing really seems to change. The ladies here just don't seem to enjoy their jobs. During our last visit we needed to use the restrooms and they were very unclean. My brain always connects dirty bathrooms to probably dirty kitchens. I never like to give poor reviews and give regular spots multiple tries. We just can't do it anymore. There is a coffee shop and juice bar across the street we will be trying on our next trip.

We visited on a Saturday morning and had to wait outside for about 10 minutes before a table opened up, which honestly made sense once we saw how busy the place was. The food ended up being exactly what I wanted before a long day of hiking. I ordered the Breakfast Bowl, which came with a half order of biscuits and gravy, one egg, and two sausage links. The portion was perfect for me since I don't like a huge breakfast, but it was still really filling and tasted great. The service was excellent. Our server was super kind and friendly to me and my friends, and the whole experience felt very welcoming. It had that small-town breakfast spot vibe where it feels like all the locals come to start their day, and even as visitors we felt right at home. The ambiance really adds to the charm. The dining area is a medium-sized room packed with as many tables and chairs as it can fit, and every seat was filled. It felt lively in the best way and showed how popular the place is. The restaurant is also located at a small airport, which makes the setting outside pretty cool and unique. Overall, the food and atmosphere were perfect for a breakfast stop. That one meal kept me fueled through our visit to Sequoia including an 8-mile hike, which honestly surprised me. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again.

The crust is perfectly flaky and buttery, not too flaky and not too buttery and is the perfect thickness and texture for accentuating the fillings inside. But what makes these standout is the fillings. They're an explosion of perfectly balanced flavors, and you can really tell that they were made with care. We talked to the owner and he says he sources his ingredients locally which we really appreciate, he says the beef is from a ranch near Bishop and he also gets bones to boil the beef stock to make the gravies. We tried pretty much every flavor they had, every single flavor was superb but personally here's how I rank the pies: 1) Lamb - Lamb is often tough or gamey, but this lamb was neither. Each chunk was moist and tender and perfectly seasoned. The gravy it was in was phenomenal. If you like lamb or are even just okay on lamb this is a must try. 2) Steak - Besides just meat, the inside of the steak was more like a shepherd's pie. There was peas and potatoes, and the meat was perfect. 3) Ground Beef and cheese - The beef had a really nice deep flavor, you can taste it's high quality ground beef. 4) Butter chicken - This is a hot take because I think he said butter chicken is one of their most popular flavors, and I can see why. The chicken is perfectly cooked and the flavor is great. 5) Lentil - Okay this one was actually really good, I'm just a meat eater so of course it's going to be bottom of my list but if you're just going to get two I think this pairs well with the lamb. The sausage roll was also really good, the sausage was not some cheap sausage there was real meaty flavor to it. If you have the room in your stomach I would definitely add on a sausage roll. Unfortunately they were out of apple pie and the potato top when we were there, but I definitely want to try that next time.
