A cozy little place on the outskirts of Goldfield, NV with a very friendly staff. We stopped there twice on our way to and from a trip recently from Reno to Pahrump. The biscuits and gravy is a key comfort breakfast and after a taste on the first stop we could hardly wait to get back to place full orders. We stopped here on our way south. This is a good spot when choices are limited as in Goldfield. Jean's but hamburger was very good, and my fried chicken salad was OK given that the breaded chicken breast came from a bag and was very thin. The young lady was a great server, and very friendly. What a surprise this place was. It is as delicious as it is quaint. Had the burgers which made fresh in our sights and could hear the sizzle fill the room. Their burgers were super good and about the best you will find within the entire area. Service was authentically friendly (not fake friendly) and the food came out pretty quick. This is a top recommend when taking the 95 anywhere between Beatty and Tonopah. read more

Visit every time I visit Goldfield. Good food; everything is made from scratch (be aware in you need to eat THIS MINUTE!). Great pancakes; a short stack consists of two. I know what you're thinking: Just two? They are literally the size of a 12-inch dinner plate. Even I, who eats and eats, could not finish them. (Ask for extra butter and syrup.) Great egg dishes. Good coffee. My complaint: The owner is not the friendliest-looking woman. I cannot figure out if she simply hates her job and eatery or if that's her look. Don't expect conversation. Also, she needs to wear gloves when touching food (I saw her make glove-feed egg salad). It's a health violation! read more

You will find this little diner gem in Goldfield, NV. Don't blink because you will miss it. We drove down from Tonopah to have breakfast here because they had been so nice to us the day before when we were there checking out the area. We both enjoyed our breakfast. Stopped by the Dingky Diner while exploring Goldfield and we loved it! Didn't expect to have a restaurant in town but glad there was one as we were starving and the food was yummy that we finished our whole meals and still had room for dessert. Highly recommend the tortilla chiller, it was so delicious. The service was great and had the chance to chat with the owners and recommend places for us to visit. This place was like an oasis in the desert!! It's the only restaurant in Goldfield too!! The food was delicious & they made you feel at home! Biscuits & gravy were like moms!! A local, there for forty years, asked if he could sit with us! Well of course!! Told us about how Goldfield Nevada was a gold mining town but has fallen in to declining era!! Duh!! People there were very friendly and if you're hungry the Dingy Diner is the only place in town to eat but is very good!! read more

Awesome lunch today at this little diner in historic Goldfield. We were AZ bound from Portland, after 2 weeks in Europe and had eaten in some incredible places there but this place had superb fries, great sandwiches and really nice folks running it. No disappointments at all. Will eat there every time we go thru there again. read more

We stopped in at The Dinky Diner for breakfast. Our waitress who happened to be the owner was such a sweetheart. I had the breakfast burrito with the green chili sauce, totally hit the spot. GREAT crispy bacon. Denver omelette looked really good as well. And the coffee... YUM. Highly recommend this little gem of a spot when passing through. 5 stars. read more

The food was so delicious and the service was very friendly. I ate country fried steak with country style cut potatoes and eggs, and it was the best damn breakfast I ate for awhile. Why it's so good? The food was fresh from local farm (I guess it's all organic) and it taste so homemade too. Nothing beats a cuisine of the Wild Wild West. read more

We stayed in Goldfield for a week with our RV club and we ate at the Diner three times! It was awesome each time! The food and the service were great! My bar for a diner in a small town is low but I was hoping for someone who at least cared about their business. Came in with my friend for lunch on our way to Reno and we were treated as if we were a hassle and like we wouldn't tip well (we look early 20s despite being mid 20s). At first we were the only ones in there then I watched as old locals were treated with care and attention. As far as I'm concerned you can keep your lukewarm fries and stone cold service. read more

Worst customer service ever. The waitress was so rude. It took over 40 minutes to get food that was incorrect. I asked for egg whites and she preceded to yell at me saying, "What are you thinking you are in the middle of know where." Well I have full service so no it's not the middle of no where. read more

Breakfast is delicious here! All of the usual fare and some.healthy options.also. The Oatmeal is awesome, too. The owner, Karie, is friendly and a joy to be around. I eat here every trip to Goldfield. :) Its usually filled.with locals and if you dont wanna talk they keep to themselves. If you do wanna talk there is plenty to learn about the history of the town. read more

Perfect stop along the drive to Las Vegas in a very cool old town. Great breakfast with courteous and toddler friendly staff! It's small, but we had the place nearly to ourselves (weekday, around 10:30am). Take a short walk down the main road to take in the history of this town after your meal! read more

Stopped here on the road to Reno mostly because there's not much else in a 100-mile radius, and they have outdoor benches (we had the dogs with us). We were all pleasantly surprised. Ordered a burger, veggie burger, cheeseburger, potato salad, French fries, and fresh Danish. Everything freshly prepared, including the French fries, and everything tastes better when eaten outdoors on a picnic bench . Cute little place, clean. Reasonable prices. Take an extra 10 minutes and check out the Lost Church of Buried Car Forest down the road. read more

Nice little place in Goldfield. Pretty much the only restaurant in town. The folks running the place were nice, the food good (and obviously freshly made) and the prices were reasonable. One sort of creepy local sitting quietly reading a book and playing with his knife was the only thing that was a bit odd, but it is Goldfield after all. read more

Decided to stop in here on our way home to Reno because of all the great reviews I read and am so glad we did! Staff treated us as if we were family and the japeno burgers with homemade fresh cut fries hit the spot. And around back was ample parking for our 5 th wheel. I live locally. We don't have a lot of choices here in Goldfield, but even if I lived in another town, I'd still come here! They have this really cool green salsa for their burritos...very tasty! I have some food allergies, and they are always careful and let me know if there is something I can't have in their regular entree...sometimes they can substitute something else that I CAN have, or will recommend something else that I can have. It is the only place to eat in town besides frozen pizza at the two bars. The biscuits were homemade and excellent, maybe the best I've ever had. Other breakfast items were as expected. The women running the restaurant are friendly and the service was great. I'm always happy to support a business like this and will visit again the next time I pass through Goldfield. Goldfield is like a treasure trove of historical memories, we planned to only stop for 30 minutes, but stayed for the better part of the day. The great thing about the town (besides its history and many photo opportunities) is that some young people are moving to it, raising families and making it their home. Rural America needs more of this to happen! The Dinky Diner is a treat and a must-stop place on the road. Don't think that the larger towns a distance away have anything to rival it! We followed a party of ATV enthusiasts to the Diner and could not believe how clean and neat the place was. The kitchen appeared to have just the one grill, and the waitress explained that they cleaned it after cooking meat, which made us two happy vegetarians. The food was the best home away from home cooking that we had on our two week roadtrip through Nevada. And it was very decently priced. When we later realised that we left an addressed postcard on the table, we called and the person said that they would post it for us. When we next travel through Nevada, we will definitely be back! read more
