OK, so it's not exactly gourmet food but how many places have a steak finger plate (comes with fries and salad) and the fries are great! Waitresses are a hometown diner type and will get to know you if you return. Place is comfortable, clean and with nice booths. If you are concerned about prices, you better ask because they are not on the menu. They have a large selection of food on the menu. Recently stopped in for lunch. The menu had no prices on it. Guess the owner can't control his food costs on a daily basis. Actually had to ask the server what a cheeseburger cost. She had to go ask the owner whom I assume was the cook that day. Plenty of other places to eat than to get school cafeteria type food like they serve. Me and my mom stopped to eat at this restaurant for lunch. I have a shellfish allergy. I asked the waitress about their protocol on keeping from She said I had nothing to worry about. I ate grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. The grilled chicken was like rubber And the green beans taste like they came straight after leaving this restaurant my throat started closing up and I stopped at the fire department for an EMT to check me. They called an ambulance and I was going into anaphylactic shock. EMS me an and steroids on the way to the hospital with and I got to the hospital and I was almost to go into anaphylactic shock. Once I was stable. I had called the restaurant to let them be aware of it. A lady answered the phone and said I asked to speak to the manager or the owner and she said she could help me. She told me there was no way that I could've got from their food so she threw the phone down and then she yelled. You can get on the phone and deal with that a man named was the owner on the phone and was the rudest most disrespectful person I have ever talked his children had fish allergies and they had never had a problem in the restaurant. I told him I was calling to tell him about what happened to me and how that put my life at risk and he was asking me what was I doing eating from my mother's fork and he was the most disrespectful person I have ever in a business Environment. This place needs to be shut down because it's the most disrespectful unethical unprofessional business I have ever been in to eat not realize an reaction can kill you and with him having kids with fish allergies you would think he would be a little bit compassionate beware and stay away from this restaurant and this is the restaurant in South Carolina. This place is awful. Service is slow, they don't even acknowledge you when you get seated. They have deceptive pricing by not even listing the prices. Dino's is just about exactly what you'd expect. It is a family diner with classic diner food. The menu is large, considering it's a small diner. We recommend the hamburgers and gyro. We also liked the meat and sides option. My mac n cheese was watery while the cornbread was very dry, but other than that, the food is pretty good. read more

This was my favorite place to get a cheeseburger, tater tots, slaw and sweet tea until today. I've never been so disappointed with a meal in my life. It's absolutely terrible. I paid almost $15 for food that is going straight to the trash. The burger wasn't made correctly which caught my eye immediately upon opening the box. Then I took a bite of it and it just doesn't taste right. Like the hamburger meat is spoiled or just not good at all. Then there is no slaw in the box. They just left it out. The tater tots are terrible as well. They taste old and stale despite the fact I had to sit there and wait 15 minutes for them. I can't believe this came from Dino's. I ordered over the phone. Found the waitress outside smoking upon my arrival to pick up my food. Ordered marinated chicken breast with side salad( no tomatoes) and green beans. Waitress comes inside, doesn't wash her hands No sanitizer or anything. Grabs my food and hands it to me. Find my salad to be lettuce only. No cheese or cucumbers as online detailed. Other then that. Dino's in Mauldin- Would not recommend! Owner was extremely rude to my special needs grandson today as well as his other Grandmother. Fussed at my son for not covering his mouth well enough while coughing, then fussed at his grandmother for not specifying that they were dining in even though she was clearly sitting at a table in the restaurant! After that she requested a refund so they could leave and go somewhere else. They refused and said they could not. So she left with no food and my two grandchildren who were upset. My grandson has had this lingering cough for 2 weeks and has already finished antibiotics- if you are honestly that scared of catching something just stay home or wear a mask yourself! Living here year's ago, you find places that you love. Dino's was never too high on the list back then. It still isn't. We passed through Mauldin on the way to NC and tried them again. Probably will not try them again though. They have a nice restaurant but the management needs to address the menu problem. Their menu they bring to the table has no prices on it because of changing food costs. That would be fine if they had a way for the wait staff to show you the prices on a tablet or tell you. The waitress had to run back to the kitchen to ask what was the price of 1 item or the plate price for that item. The prices were reasonable. Food was alright too. It seemed a bit disjointed to have no prices and have to waste time in getting the prices. If they can invest in computer ordering then they can invest in a board with letters on it. I understand about Covid but this is ridiculous. 9 out of 10 restaurants have prices on their menus & they change them with pieces of tape if they are going to change & besides a daily menu item that you get everyday, you should be able to keep the price the same for more than a few hours. It's not rocket science to run a restaurant. It's hard but not impossible to change prices on the fly. read more

They need to have an earlier closing time, because God forbid you walk in during the last TWO hours of business. We have been very loyal customers for the last 6 years. They have acted annoyed in the past when we were paying around closing time (around as in 5 min before.) Wednesday completely blew my mind. We walked in at 8:15 pm (they close at 9:30 pm per the sign on their door.) They had every section that could seat more than 4 people blocked off (mopped and chairs put up.) When I told her that we had 7 people, she laughed and rolled her eyes. She shuffled around and then said "I GUESS you can sit in this back booth, it's just that they already mopped back here." I replied that we can't sit in a small booth because we need two high chairs and we have two guys with very long legs. She replied "are you serious, you can't sit in the booth?" She rolled her eyes and sighed more (while everyone eating in the restaurant is looking uncomfortable watching this exchange.) She unwillingly starting taking some chairs off the table in the center section, while muttering "we just mopped here." I said "you close at 9:30, right?" She said "YES, we close at 9:30." ??? We said never mind and we went to eat next door. My in-laws have vowed to never walk in the place again. What a shame. The food is pretty good, and close to our house. I purchased a Philly steak sandwich plate which fries and slaw with a tea on my lunch break on 11/02/2022 at 3:22pm (via drivethru) on my way back to work. I began eating when I got back to work. I noticed there was hair and lint in the bottom of my plate. I called at 3:45pm and let them know there was hair and lint in my plate. The lady that took my order stated they would only remake my plate. I told her I would come back after work. I got off at 7pm. There was also hair in one of the French fries not pictured. So I arrived with the remainder of my plate and showed them my plate and showed a girl at the counter who called another guy to the front who then got the manager/owner. I told him I would prefer my money back bc I will not be eating at his restaurant again. He then stated that he did not know what I did with the plate after I left and I could only get another plate. I told him I called them immediately upon noticing the hair and lint. He then stated it doesn't matter I had left the restaurant. I told him I would never eat there again and I don't want a new plate. I then stated and I now remember why I stopped eating here years ago (unpleasant experience). The owner became irate and began yelling which was unprofessional and lacked customer service. The owner then yanks the plate from me and tells me to get out of his restaurant and threatens to call the police on me. I told him I will never eat there again anyway and it's not a problem. The owner is still yelling at me that he's offended and I told him I was offended that you serve me a plate with hair and lint in it. The owner totally lacked professionalism and customer svc. My family and I are here tonight.. There were 4 of us 3 adults and 1 child.. Everything the adults ordered was fine except for the hush puppies and the chicken nuggets my daughter wanted. These 2 items were burnt . When one of the young gentleman from the kitchen brought the food out I told him then that the nuggets and the hush puppies were burnt he tells me that's the way they're supposed to look well he walked away. My daughter takes a tiny bike of the nuggets and sure enough they were burnt and the hush puppies were burnt. When I went to check out all I asked for was that the hush puppies be removed from my ticket because my daughter couldn't eat them because they tasted bad. The waitress went to the kitchen and got the owner you could tell that he did not like that I wanted the item taken off of my ticket by this time the waitress had cleared the table. The owner looks at the table and said well if they were so burnt why did your daughter eat them. I told him she didn't eat them the waitress had cleared the table and he says well I'm going to give you your money back but that's the way chicken nuggets look. Atrocious service we ordered food and 2 apple pie deserts her and my wife went to bite her apple pie and sees a bug there, so I take it back to the restaurant and ask for a manager. When he arrives I pull him to the side and quietly explain the situation as to not alert other customers to my issue and scare anyone. How does he react but cutting me off mid sentence and saying "pies come pre packaged I can give you another pie but I ain't giving a refund". I responded that I didn't want another pie as it could potentially have a bug in it also, he looked at it and laughed and said "that's a piece of apple" I said sir you can clearly see the legs and bulb on the back and he said "do you want another pie because I'm not giving a refund" I said nope I will report this to everybody and he said "I don't care" to which I replied I don't either. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! The food was ordered through the phone and the lady said the order back correctly. We went to the restaurant to pick it up the food. We also waited for 2 minutes to get the boy's attention to see if we had drink and he ignored us. The cost was 60$. When we got home we looked at the food and half of it wasn't even in the bags! We called them and they gave us the worst attitude you should never give to a customer! And said "nope, you got your food". We calculated of what we had and it did not meet 60$. Had to go all the way back to get the rest of our food! Also the food we have at home was cold and not to my satisfaction! We will never eat there again! UPDATE: got the rest of the food which was a kids meal and a cheeseburger. They put Mayo on the cheeseburger when we said not to. AND posed to get mini corn dogs, nuggets and a drink...we only got the mini corn dogs which are burnt, the child bit into it and it was a loud crunch!!! It feels like they did it intentionally! I love Dino's. I usually go through the drive through about once a week, and have eaten inside several times. Everything I have ever gotten there is always delicious. I have been a regular customer since 2003. I am in no way related to the business in any way other than a loyal customer and this is an honest review. I have read some of the reviews and all I can vouch for is : The parking lot is generally full around the regular dining hours of lunchtime or 6-7pm, I have never had insects in my food, i've never had rude service and have seen the sign that CLEARLY states no credit or debit cards under $5. Those negative reviews I have read don't sound at all like the same restaurant that I go to all the time. read more

Good diner experience on Wednesday evening between work and church. Hamburger steak was large portion. Daughter enjoyed country fried steak and gravy. Grandkids got mini corn dogs and chicken nuggets (like Micky-D's.). All of the food was good, home style comparable to Cracker Barrel. The owner's wife waited on us along with her son which was good to see. The restaurant seemed clean and it seemed like a lot of regular customers. We'll come back for sure. read more

Went there for lunch today to try a hotdog. Having never been there before I wanted to get just one item and see how they did with their food. When I got to the window to pay they told me they could not take a card for anything under five dollars. They suggested I could add to it to get above five dollars but I don't carry any cash. Everyone accepts cards nowadays and to not accept a card for under five dollars is ridiculous - just increase the price if it's under five dollars to cover your processing fees. The sweet tea tasted like it had been brewed a week and a half ago, with that bitter and burnt flavor that doesn't strike my fancy, so I got them to bring me an over-carbonated coke instead. My son had a patty melt which he dutifully ate, but didn't finish (truly a sign for an 11-year-old not to gobble down a meal) and fries, my wife had a meat and two with country fried steak, okra, and mashed potatoes, and I had a gyro sandwich with a piece of grilled/buttered French bread. I guess this place used to be good. Tonight it was not. I was so delighted that we went in for a slightly late dinner and the place wasn't at all crowded. It was a little shocking that they were dirty tables everywhere. Fully half of the tables were empty but had not been bussed. I thought perhaps this meant that the weight staff was focused on the few customers who were in the building. I was disappointed. They found us. Our order was taken quickly. It arrived slowly and then our waitress was gone for long periods of time. The worst part was you could see the weight staff standing around in the kitchen talking to each other. they were not checking on tables or keeping drinks filled. They didn't do that for us either except when we finally got their attention and asked. The food was pedestrian and sort of acceptable. Regular staples like cornbread muffins were so dry as to fall apart. I ordered diner specialties. hamburger steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried okra. The steak was ok. The gravy was out of a can. This is not an experience I would repeat anytime soon. read more

Im only giving 1 star cause i cant give negatives. I stopped in for a milkshake on my way back to Columbia. Paid almost $5 for the milkshake. I sat at the drive thru window for 15 minutes before i pulled around and went i side. The customer at the counter paying for his to-go order was told to "go sit over there and ill bring it to you". The young lady asked what i needed. I told her i had been waiting gor my milkshake and she replied "Was that all you ordered? I thought you had more coming". I asked about the guy that took my money and she replied "Oh i dont know". She handed my shake to me and i asked what had taken so long. The owner came storming around the corner saying "thats the only size shake we make!" I told him that was fine i just wanted to know what took so long. He apologized and said have a nice day. I replied "This is probably why your parking lot is empty". He proceeded to curse me out and told me to get outta his business. I went to Dino's for lunch today which I do a few times a month because I work close and usually it's ok. Well today I found a HAIR in my food. When I brought it to the waitresses attention all she said was do you want me to bring you another one? I said no. Once she goes to the back I see the manager come from the back and look at me. He never came to our table or said anything. I got up and went to him because at this point I'm not eating anymore food which was only about 10% eaten. He explained he saw it and in fact it was shredded cabbage. Now I know the difference between cabbage and hair so he was clearly wrong. His response was "well what you want me to do?" Not once did I get an apology or anything and all he said he would do is take off some onion rings which were still on the plate. I will never eat here again! read more

I have never experienced such poor service. My friend and I started coming to Dino several times a week. We enjoy meeting for lunch. The first time we went I thought it might just be the one waitress was not very friendly. However every time we came the waitresses were the same. Not friendly and unattentive. We enjoyed the food. Kudos to the cooks but we do not want to feel like we are a burden. We even asked a waitress for a side of pickles . She stated they do not have any. I found that hard to believe so I asked the other waitress and sure enough that was untrue. Then I had to wait 20 minutes for a box. I finally just went up to get one.
