I have never been to Bridgeway Station, and wow, what a cute/fun area. The vibe and interior of Rotie did not disappoint. It is not a huge restaurant, but you aren't crowded either. My girlfriends and I went for girls night, and I loved how the place was packed with women. Such a cool idea. We got the rosemary beignets, and they were really good. Loved the butter that came with it too, and the parm. Very tasty. I had the half chicken, and it was maybe the best chicken I have ever had. Seriously, I know what I am ordering next time, and the time after, because it was so good. I didn't enjoy the sides as much. I had the pomme puree and the roasted vegetables. It's strange that the mashed potatoes were flavorless and mealy, and the veggies were meh. That said, the chicken was awesome, and I will come back for that alone. read more

Review covers a Friday night visit and a same weekend Sunday lunch visit since this is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. Friday night we had a 5:45 reservation since that was what we could get on Open Table or a much later option. Turns out that this was a good choice because we got a nice 4 top for the two of us in a corner, so minimal "neighbors." Our order beat the kitchen rush. We saw the kitchen rush happen as the 6:00 reservations began to fill the restaurant. Service and hospitality was excellent. We continue to enjoy the evergreen, outdoor, theme brought indoors. We wanted to try some new things and have some familiar things. Our start was the chopped Caesar Salad, which has chopped fried anchovies as a unique way to include this into the salad as well as breadcrumbs rather than larger croutons (not grainy crumbs, but smaller than croutons) and this is quite sharable. Or, could be an entree with an added protein. We shared a steak tartare - classic and excellent, a Farmers board of meat, cheeses, jams, etc. and the full head of Roasted Cauliflower with a spiced yogurt sauce that was accompanied by our choices of fries and mixed steamed vegetables (green beans, asparagus, carrots). All of this was fantastic, with the star being the surprising roasted cauliflower dish. One glass of wine and that came to $119 ($150 with Christmas tip). The watch out here is two-fold. Most dishes are intentionally shareable by theme of the restaurant and the glass of wine is gonna run $15-$20 for an 8 ounce pour. So, we came back Sunday with one of our sons and his girlfriend to celebrate Christmas with her as this is a great gluten free restaurant and has become her favorite too. Sunday was less stellar, except for the service, which was on yeoman's duty and was outstanding, especially considering they were 7 staff down due to illness. We were greeted promptly for our 12:45 reservation and it took 5-7 minutes to get our table due to it being packed out and short staffed. Winds up that Anna, the manager, wound up waiting on us. I commend her for the good communication of her staffing predicament without making it a complaint or an excuse, because they delivered. We had our drink order and lunch order placed by 1:00 and drinks arrived at 1:07, shared Caesar arrived at 1:15 and meals at 1:33pm. I noted the time because they were doing a great job on managing the overall situation. We were out of there comfortably by 1:55, easy and well taken care of. My wife & son got the usual Reuben which is the current front runner in town. The girlfriend got an apple oriented salad without the praline pecans since they are not gluten free. Unfortunately, she did find three morsels of pecans, but they were avoided and due to the circumstances, we were not going to mention it - but here - just watch it if you are sensitive. I had the chicken and waffles with jam and maple syrup and the sunny side egg. This was only okay. I am quite sure what the chef intended and what I received were two different executions. The egg was perfection. The chicken was tasty, but not juicy and a bit tough (if Zaxby's is out executing here, there is a problem). The waffle was not tender at all and was almost too hard to cut with the provided butter knife, which then made the jam and syrup portion to be inadequate to overcome the waffle texture and flavor. With a fresher waffle, a bit more on the jam and syrup, this would have notched up, there is just a ratio thing there. I did have about half of the dish as carry home, but not sure if it will be eaten. I would not hold this against the restaurant though, just noting that a rush and short staff might have some unintended consequences. All in all, with a couple of brunch martini;s and a couple of bloody Mary's, the bill was $150 with tip $180 because it is Christmas and the staff and Anna did a banger job. read more

Let me start by saying we were excited to go here . We had been recommended by a good friend. So the place is nice, clean and way less loud than the Stella's on Fairview .Good plus! We started drinks and one was delicious and the other..The Toasty Coconut..not so good. I was expecting a warm dark drink and received a received a "mimosa "-esque, glass which was more of something at a Miami Brunch with grapefruit spritzer....not toasty. Not Coconutty... Thus a bad named drink . In my opinion. Just saying. Next I ordered the Tuna Tartare and my partner the Roast chicken. They Tuna and avocado was great...the plantains...not so much. For me, the freshness of Tuna and avocado did not mesh with the heavy , slightly greasy plantains. The Roast Chicken ..was well---over cooked..tough and not tender." Like rotisserie chicken should be. It was also really greasy. Small pools of grease were noted in the plate. Almost as if the extra grease was going to make the chicken more Juicy. The mashed potatoes were okay. We took our dessert home... the Butter-Beer Bread pudding to go...and we're looking forward to having it. I was hoping for the flavor similar to Butter Beer drink at Universal Studios...and ...it was awful...the sauce was blah. It was not sweet ...not Butter Beer or sweet at all and not worth the calories. So the good news is...the staff is kind and attentive. The bar is nice with one TV . I am was highly disappointed with my experience. To begin with, my beignets were served on a recycled menu, with ink that appeared to be toxic. This lack of attention to detail and disregard for the safety of their customers is extremely concerning. Moreover, the explanation provided by the manager, Ana, regarding this issue was completely ridiculous. I'd like to tell everyone-- walk don't run to this establishment because I need the two top table by the faux doors by the entrance for people watching alone. Rotie by Stella's is a delightful treat to enjoy a beautiful melody of French inspired, Southern foundational decor. Every dish is served on vintage dishes that perfectly imperfectly do not match. Your grandmother would love it-- don't worry. For appetizer/small plate, I shared the Rosemary Beignets with tomato bacon jam, Stella's Farmers Cheese, Pepita and my only knock against is, 1) I had to share it, 2) I wanted more bacon vibes. Did I almost lick the cast iron skillet? I debated. For drinks, I had the Rotie Sour and lordly it was a light, freshing strawberry puree. Chefs kiss. For dinner, we shared the wagyu pot roast and your grandmother will be impressed. What a delicious nod to a traditional pot roast, decided to get in bed with a perfectly marbled Wagyu select cut that was FORK TENDER. When asked if we made room for dessert, no but we did have to stand up to make room to sign the bill. Seriously, please go enjoy being welcomed at your Nana's French dinner table. After seeing all the great reviews I finally got to try Rotie by Stellas this evening. Beautiful setting in Bridgeway Station. No reservation, busy, but seated immediately. Lots of pretty lights hung around the walls but still dimly lit. Server was very attentive and friendly. We ordered our entrees Lamb Shank, Duck and a side of Fingerling Potatoes ( 1 serving is enough for two ppl ) Server gave us two small plates to use for sharing our side. My plate was chipped. Food arrived quickly. Duck plate didn't look too appetizing , it just looked "brown" . The salad was a strange choice on the plate tbh. No flavour. The duck breast was tough but the leg was good. The orange sauce needed a kick. Bland. My Lamb Shank served in a bowl, (which was chipped! ) had three pieces of baguette inside the bowl soaking up the gravy, the bread was very hard and dry so it did help soften it. The lamb was ok but not much flavour to it. The gravy was very oily. The Fingerling potatoes were hot and delicious. $40 for Duck $26 for Lamb $12 for potatoes. The guests next to us had to move from their seats at one point so the bar attendant could retrieve a liquor bottle which is stored under their seats lol Not seen that one before lol They did apologize for the inconvenience and offered a free dessert for their trouble. We went for their first "High tea" we waited 30 min to be seated with a 12:45 reservation. Then it took 30 min to get water. 20 min later they took our bar order. Then after 45 more minutes my wife had to get the manager for us to get served. We did not get everything listed that you were supposed to get. There were 4 of us and we didn't get everything on the list we were supposed to get. The "hot food" was cold. They did not leave a tea pot on the table so we all ran out more than once. To make up for it they comped our samosas. I will try the restaurant again but not to high tea. read more

The service was excellent as we arrived without a reservation during restaurant week. Thankfully we were able to be seated and partake in this wonderful dining experience. The food was perfect as my wife loved the shrimp and grits while I enjoyed the duck. Excellent flavors and protein cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, I was unable to get a picture of the shrimp and grits. Needless to say we did not need a box as there was nothing left. We enjoyed the restaurant although it was packed but still provided a great atmosphere for a relaxing dinner. A wonderful date night or romantic meal awaits. Wow- totally blown away by this place!!! We went for brunch and it was incredible, possibly a new top fave GVL brunch spot. The chicken and waffles with Nashville hot butter - amazingggg. My husband said it's the closest he's ever had to waffles in Belgium that he's tried in past travels. I felt the same about the short rib poutine -- it was by far the best poutine I've had since a past Canada trip! The short rib and the jus with it was so flavorful and juicy and the peppers brought just the right amount of heat - and the cheese curds were perfect! It was a huge portion, as well. We also tried a side of delicious grits (adluh grits aka the best!) and biscuits with gravy. The biscuits were perfectly flaky and the gravy was a great southern style sausage gravy. Overall we were truly very impressed with this place. The service was great and the ambience was so nice. The location at bridgeway station was great too. Went to Rotie for brunch on a Sunday at 12PM. Was immediately sat at the bar per our request and ordered a spicy bloody Mary. It was delicious! Ordered the meat and cheese board, the disco fries and chicken and waffles. All were served quickly and they were all perfect! The chicken and waffles were quite possibly the best I've ever had. One thing when you go to a Stella's Restaurant, you know it's going to be delicious, the service is going to be impeccable and it's always consistent. Rotie is no exception! read more

Fun happy hour menu and great service. Every time I come here I want to really really like it. It's ok. I love the decor and environment and have had some great salads and the lamb is good but there are a few items that they missed the mark on. The corkscrew fries that came w the poutine were amazing but then we ordered them again and it came w regular fries. Also I got a fried steak there and it had sauce on it. It was just not good. The food is excellent but the service is spotty. We had an entree that came out 15 minutes before the rest of our party had their food. I ordered the bone in ribeye and asked them to box up the bone for my dog with the rest of the food and they failed to do this. Just leaving Roti by Stella's, meal was great, server was great until I got main course. I ordered the chicken from the pre-fix menu, it was extremely dry. The manager Anna came over and was perplexed at the dryness of the chicken. Another member of my party had the same dish and their dish looked drastically different. Server brought me sauce but my dish was cold and the chicken was actually overcooked so sauce would not have worked very well. I think the sauce was supposed to be cooked on the dish, not poured over like gravy, thus this was the servers solution. I asked that they just prepare chicken dish to go and all would be well. The manager Anna offered my companion that she would get her another order as her dish also looked quite dry. I received my to go order and the dish was half of my original order which had not been touched except to cut and verify dryness. I called the manager back to find out where is the rest of the dish. Apparently the chef or cook Justin decided to split my dish with my companion . It looks as though my entire dish was cut in half and divided into 2 kids plates. We are talking about chicken. The manager Anna was gone, the other manager wasn't sure what to do, but decided to take $15 off my meal. Why $15, when the dish cost more than $15 and I didn't eat any of it. I understood Dear Cook Justin said he would send me more potatoes. Anywho, let's say disgusting, management issues, restaurant issues, customer service issues. Won't be going back. Thanks Cook Justin, for the switch-a-roo. Hopefully you're not an owner but if I find that you are; I will be happy to share your ethics with anyone that I know. Oh did I mention I love to talk so I can't wait to share my experience. Context: I have supported Stella's in Simpsonville especially New Years Eve dinners, the location near Verdae especially during Euphoria for champagne dinners. I'm not a new diner and rarely order chicken. This cook Justin is appalling. The manager wanted to bring me yet another dish, I declined, hence I was credited $15 for a 35 or 40 dollar dish even though I ate none of the entree. Bless poor Cook Justin, I promise all was well until he decided to cut the chicken dinner in half. Thanks Cook Justin, you're a peach for ruining a wonderful night over a piece of chicken. I hope you don't bully your staff. No one wanted to say anything to you, I hope the owner's don't advocate your attitude. I actually paid and ordered a whole dish. I am attaching a picture of an untouched plate that was sent to go. All will be well at this restaurant until there is an issue with your meal. Both the manager and the server acknowledged that the meal was not appropriately prepared. I ordered the wine pairing with my meal. My group would be on the next course before wine pairing was delivered for previous dish but I didn't care, just happy to catch up with friends. The chicken thing was awful and impacted my overall experience. I normally don't order chicken when I go out, hence the chicken thing will go down in history. It was not recommended to speak with the cook Justin. By the way, this was my 2nd visit to this restaurant and the 1st time was lackluster, but felt I should try again. Now I know it's not a great place for me. Tabby was my server and I need to say she seemed to do as much as she could to not overstep boundaries of her job. She was very apologetic. read more

Absolutely beautiful restaurant and we went for brunch since we have been a regular at Stella's. The rosemary beignets with butternut squash jam with herbed goat cheese and toasted pepitas was incredible. The squash tastes like the best sweet potato soufflé you'll ever have and it's served in a small cast iron bowl. Four large beignets with powdered sugar. Ridiculously good. The roasted beet and goat cheese salad was also a hit but the duck jambalaya was a miss for me. The curry overtook the dish. Very nice addition to Bridgeway Station. read more

Bridgeway Station is growing & this new offering from the Stella's group is a welcome addition in what is a restaurant desert now. I think they are still getting some kinks worked out. Service was good. The menu is all "a la carte" - no set plates. Luckily we were a group of three so family style sharing worked out, not sure how an individual alone would fare. Food was not as cooked as I would expect being rotisseries, or fire cooked. I would go back and give it a try again though. read more

My wife and I have been eating at a Stella's restaurants (they now have 3) for 15 years and the other day, we tried the latest one Rotie, in Mauldin, SC. Yes, Stella's has some of the best restaurants in the Upstate. But let me tell you about our experience at Rotie. We always call and make a reservation so we won't be disappointed when we get to the restaurant, no matter where we eat it's a good policy. From the outside, as you get closer to the entrance you see the large understated elegance, and you open the door to see a very beautiful European-style interior. Christina, the manager, is there to welcome you and show you to a table, she is also full of wonderful personality. Our server that night was Kennadee who too was full of personality and helped to describe the menu which was fabulous with dishes for everyone no matter what your diet. So I started with my Belvedere extra dry martini of course with blue cheese stuff olives. The bartender who we hadn't met made the perfect martini. My wife ordered the Wagyu Pot Roast, and I had the chicken which is cooked in a special rotisserie spit-roasting, and we shared the vegetable side. Everything was excellent. I am not a lover of white meat chicken, but the white meat I was served was so juicy and favorable that I ate every last drop of it. Julie and Jason's new restaurant is a must, and you will not be disappointed. Supporting Stella's restaurants is supporting lots of local farmers that they support. They are a wonderful couple who appreciate their suppliers, staff, customers, and many who have been enjoying excellent food for over 16 years. The farmer's board that we ordered was misrepresented on the menu at this restaurant. The menu indicated that this charcuterie board contained house crackers, mustard and jams. The mustard and jam were not on the board. The crackers were substituted by large pieces of burnt bread. The manager made no attempt to correct this and was very condescending. It is NOT common in the south to charge for every refill of diet coke; IF you are going against the norm you should warn people. Every refill is a FULL additional charge!! Food options were limited and just OK for the money. Martini was all ice and 1 sip of liquid, couldn't even put the olive in the glass to marinate.
