Our service was kind of slow but it was a busy Saturday night and we were celebrating a birthday party of 10 Food was so delicious, and the servings guaranteed leftovers for the next day. By the way, everything that was taken to go, heated up nicely the next day. We were able to sample each others meals (my favorite thing about dining with friends) Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parmesan, Cannelloni Crepes, Petrale Sole, Calamari Steak, Gnocchi with Creamy Gorgonzola Sauce, so so much food and that did not disappoint. Definitely the best rib eye with great deal!! I picked Ribeye that comes with appetizer (pickles, cold cuts and etc), soup, salad, sourdough and even ravioli! I came in super hungry and definitely left with happy tummy! I don't usually like minestrone soup but theirs is so good with more beef flavor than tomatoes. The baked potatoes that came with ribeye is surprisingly tasty. It's so simple but so flavorful. The ribeye is exactly medium rare that I asked for. The horseradish sauce is perfect complement to the meat. Although I was super full, I had to try dessert. Both Sundae and Tiramisu are beyond expectations. The best thing is reservation is accepted. This was the first time at DiNucci's, and I'm so glad the trip was made. This is a rustic, family-style Italian dining -- and that's exactly what makes it special. The meal came in stages, including minestrone, antipasta, three-bean salad, fresh bread, green salad, ravioli, Cannelloni Crepes, Gorgonzola gnocchi and meatballs. The crepes were a standout. Never had cannelloni prepared this way, and they were absolutely delicious. The gnocchi and meatballs were also excellent. Our waiter, Michael, was fantastic -- friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely attentive. We were there for about two hours, but honestly, that was part of the experience. Dinner here isn't meant to be rushed. While we overheard a few diners getting frustrated with the pace or certain aspects of their meal, I think DiNucci's is best appreciated for what it is: a longtime, family-style restaurant with rustic food, generous portions, warm service and plenty of old-school charm. If you're looking for quick, modern fine dining, this may not be your place. Loved the location and ambience, but the food was not good. We waited over an hour for our lunch. Our waitress was lovely and so attentive, but the rest of our experience was disappointing. We enjoyed the salad and dessert (Tiramisu), but that was it. My daughter felt sick after her meal and so did I and my mother-in-law. We chalked it up to the marinara. Eight of us came for dinner (we had been here before more than a decade before and it was super). With those fond memories we came, but not sure what's happened. And I admit, I'm picky as hell. But still. The breaded oysters rubbery and inedible. The minestrone soup was unlike any ever I've had the misfortune to eat--muddy falvors with a beef broth that's mystifying, why would a vegetarian based soup have a meat broth, which will not make the flavors bright and clean? The chicken marsala also rubbery and gamey tasting. The bay shrimp turned out to be prawns. The eggplant parmigiana greasy and a puddle of oil. The pesto penne was literally swimming in so much oil in was congealing in a corner; I had never seen a dish with so much oil in my life. Looking at it made my stomach turn. The bread was good, especially with room temperature butter. People had other dishes , which I could not bear to taste. My favorite thing in the entire meal were the two little cauliflour pickled florets I ate from their antipasti platter. Everything is served "family style," meaning soup, salad, bread, antipasti and the entree arrives to share (except the entree). You could also order ala carte, though the price diferential is not worth it. I was shocked to discover that to share a meal, they charge $15?! Whaaaat? This is madness or greed or they sijply cannot afford to stay in business without charging/upcharging aggressively this outrageous charge. Why? For another plate? What if they didn't give a plate? We should've done that. The ambience is old-fashioned cute with a warm vibe, a step back in another Italian era with red and white tablecloths. It gets loud and boisterously full. The service we got was attentive, sweet, friendly. How to rate this overall? I left hungry, as did my nephew (we are the pickiest of the bunch). The little bit I did have to eat, I got a stomach ache when I got home. This place is full of memories of yesteryear & really could use a great deep clean. The wait staff was spiffy and although our wine came after the meal was served he apologized. It's a busy place. The food was very well average. I guess the pesto pasta had about a half a cup or more of water with little crushed basil floating around and the Parmesan to thicken it up a bit was the powder kind. Bummer. Shrimp were ok & added butter patties to give some richness and flavor vs complaining. Not sure I wanted to overstay. The family style lacked luster and I guess that's why it's called that? Every time and I mean every time we're in this area it's a must to come to this spot for lunch or dinner. From service to dessert everything is perfect. Nice little bar you walk thru to get to the cutest dining area, everyone looks so happy to be there always. Food is spectacular! You get homemade bread for the table, house soup and salad with most entrees. We got chicken fettuccine Alfredo and the meatball sub. Looking for a traditional, old time, multi course meal? Look no further. Absolutely wonderful food, vintage ambiance and wonderful service. We live close enough to get take out, this weekend ordered their minestrone soup and a wedge salad...it was PERFECT!!!!! When we have company we take them here for the "experience." You order your main dish and are served multiple courses before that main dish. Anti pasta, soup, salad, bread, pasta (if you didn't order pasta as your main dish), and then your main dish. Don't fill up on the smaller courses because you are going to want to have room for the main meal. Fun to watch all of the courses being brought out on rolling carts. A valuable piece of the San Francisco food scene went into the ether when Capp's Corner closed in North Beach because where else could you get the multiple course, family-style Italian dinner replete with the red-checkerboard tablecloth? Well, if you find yourself motoring to Bodega Bay on State Route 1 from the city, you're bound to pass by Dinucci's in blink-if-you-miss-it Valley Ford. Population 148. And if you pass by during the dinner hour, chances are pretty good that it'll be packed, especially on the weekends. That's because they serve Capp's Corner-style multi-course dinners, which looks to draw locals and tourists alike. Jamie W. and I were lucky we could snag one of their last tables of the night. We were staying at the Sonoma Coast Villa just five minutes away but found ourselves letting the evening slip by in the jacuzzi. I initially expressed interest in the $48 Carved Prime Rib Dinner, but I just knew they'd be out of it on Saturday night. Instead I went for the $43 Choice USDA Ribeye, while Jamie ordered the $29 Chicken Marsala. However, before the entrees arrived, there was a lot to devour. I've passed by this restaurant in Valley Ford so many times but never ate here until recently! We were camping at Bodega Dunes State Campground on a Thursday evening. We were tired from the drive and setting up our camp, so one of our friends, who ate their many times, suggested Dinucci's for dinner. We didn't feel like cooking either, so we headed to Dinucci's for a nice Italian dinner. The restaurant and bar was crowded for a Thursday night, so I recommend making reservations. You can make reservations online on their website. Stepping into the restaurant was like going back in time. The building was built in 1908 and the current owners have been running the restaurant since 1968. It is a favorite among locals and tourist. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. Thursday's at Dinucci's is Thirsty Thursday Night, from 4pm - 8pm, where drinks are only $3 to $6! I had an espresso martini which was sweet & tasty. The dinners at Dinucci's are served family style. It is five courses and it starts out with their famous hot minestrone soup, warm crusty sourdough bread, antipasto appetizers, and then a generous salad! Just a warning, you need to pace yourself or you will not have room for the main course! Also, if you order a non-pasta dish, you will also get a small side of raviolis. I ordered a delicious lasagna that was made with bolognese sauce, ricotta, and lots of melted mozzarella cheese. Yummy!!! I'm so glad I finally got to eat at Dinucci's and I'm coming back soon to try their famous prime rib that sells out quickly too. My family and I love the Mendocino coast and we are spending more time up in Sea Ranch and Gualala so we have driven past Dinucci's many time and there are always many cars outside and the reviews on YELP seemed solid enough so we stopped by for an early dinner en route home on Sunday night. The place is old school in a good way and apparently it is almost a hundred years old, and in the present reiteration an old school red sauce and gravy family style Italian restaurant. Having grown up in a largely Italian neighborhood on the east coast, in New Yawk City, and transplanted to the Bay Area many years ago - I made an immediate connection to Dinucci's and this place didn't disappoint. Bada Bing ! Every non pasta entree comes with a number of starters - including warm sour dough with butter and olive oil on the table, followed by a family style large shared bowl of old style minestrone soup - both were solid starters. They also bring an antipasti plate with salami, bean salad, fresh veggies and pickled veggies followed by another shared pasta starter - of meat ravioli in a slightly sweet red sauce. Very nice. We had salads next - with home made blue cheese and thousand island dressings ! After all that food - Then came the mains - my better half ordered the chicken parm and I had the chicken Marsala with nicely sautéed mushrooms. Both mains even come with a choice of sides - we had fries and mixed veggies. Absolutely a lot of food, nicely prepared and served by a very pleasant and hard working serving staff. Good job with the staff !! Seriously. I like that they bring you big portions, leave the water pitcher on the table and most folks were leaving with bags of dinner leftovers - not a big surprise. Our two Entrees were $29/each so for less than $75 including tax and tip we two hungry adults ate like old school Pisanos ! We will definitely be back. If you live in the neighborhood this place fits the bill for a Friday or Saturday night meeting place. If you're passing through, it's a mediocre hole in the wall with classic food. I've been passing this spot for years, expecting that some day, I'd have the time to stop and it would be amazing. I wish I had left it to my imagination and wonderment. I'd much rather imagine it's amazing and wonder what I'm missing out on. Suffice to say, the imagination and expectations of this roadside icon are not aligned with reality. A local watering hole, nothing special. if you're just passing bye, pass bye. Hold on to the imaginary sacred institution. Notes on the food, the pasta is wonderful, the steak is average and the seafood options are fried. The family style soup and salad are good, however, I found the salad to be wet enough that the salad dressing was watered down and runny, just like the drinks. Prime rib sells out early in the evenings when it's available, if that's what you into plan accordingly. Be prepared to stay awhile, it's family style. Be present and enjoy the experience, just don't expect a 5 star meal. read more

I was very disappointed in the Easter dinner. The service was a little slow and the food was scarce. We were a party of 6 and the ravioli had only enough to put one piece of ravioli on each plate. The antipasti only had 4 pieces of salami, we had to ask for more. To top everything off there was a dead fly in the antipasti bowl where the beans were. I was really hoping for a nice Easter dinner with a nice traditional Italian food with lots of food. At least the Ambiance was nice with some antique items on the shelves. Dinucci's unpretention is what makes it so comfortable, and the food is what makes it so memorable. This is the kind of old school joint with tons of vintage artwork crammed into every square inch on the walls. The building is an old farmhouse converted to a restaurant. You have to walk in through the bar before you get to the hostess in a dining room filled with checkered tablecloths. Abolone shells decorate the bar area in the west coast fashion of long ago. The floors have just the right amount of squeekey to feel cozy. I get the feeling the bar just might be the heart and soul of Valley Ford. Your entree is a 5 course meal. You get warm bread, soup, antipasto, salad, pasta, your entree and a side. Incredible value! The house minestrone has a rich beefy profile with scraps of irregular shaped pasta floating amongst veggies and beans. Truly a house specialty, served in an unpretentious plastic bowl with a ladel to serve at the table. I ordered the Caesar salad, which was not served croutons, but was made with butter lettuce. Good creamy anchovy dressing on that salad. Wouldn't call it a classic Caesar, but it was very good. The lasagna was my favorite. It was served in a wide shallow bowl where it was swimming in a rich red sauce. It held together, but was tender enough to cut with a fork. We also ordered a prime rib (which they offer on the weekends) this cut of beef was GIGANTIC! Cooked perfectly medium rare. Not overly seasoned like many ribs can be. Real horseradish on the side. My husband drove by this place several times heading out to Dillion beach for a job he picked up . He was extremely excited that we finally had a free weekend to go and have a nice dinner together , so I thought umm it's Saturday evening I should call and make a reservation just in case. No much longer the bread comes out warm to our table with soup and other things. Great ! I see the waitress head over to the table behind us with 4 guest. They order drinks and she also says are you ready go order ? She the asked 1 of the gentlemen what would he like he then say may I have THE PRIME RIB. My husband and I look at each other and I'm thinking what the HELL ! Didn't she just say to us the where out!!!!! I was burning inside !!!
