I waited in line outside of Dion's for 45 minutes last night, told every five minutes that my pizza was five minutes from being done until they finally admitted that they had lost my order and had no idea what or where it was and I went home with no food and a $30 online charge. I live right down the road from this location so I am a regular here. The food is amazing and I have never had a problem with the quality. There have been a few issues in the past with delays and/or wrong orders but the managers and staff have always been so helpful in resolving these issues. The past few times have been so out of whack, and I regularly order food from Dions. First, out of the couple of times I recently been there, they messed up my order and I called back and the manager said she would send me my money back, and days went by and I never received confirmation of my return. They have all employees wearing masks and gloves which made me feel safe. May I just say, the most recent review from a previous worker actually just proves why this location is one of the worst lol. Dions is a great local business... this location can't seem to get it together. I work right by this location so I frequently come here. It gets worse and worse each time, and I'm finally starting to get sick of giving them chances. Opened the box to a broken, overflowing sandwich with about an entire jar of mayo in it even though I requested no mayo. I always request no mayo and they've put mayo on anyway the last 3 times. I also got a salad last week and the iceberg lettuce was wilted and brown. I've noticed it's only this location and many others have agreed with me that they fall short and don't seem to care. I understand being busy, but if you notice something looks gross why would you serve it???? How hard is it to read what people want/don't want on their order? Fixing things takes more time than doing it right the first time. Perhaps start labeling to go orders if that helps you keep organized. Also prevents people from not knowing who's food is who's. Dion's serves up pizza, sandwiches, and salads on the cheap, yum, and local. I used to eat here regularly in high school and a trip home to Albuquerque is not complete without a visit. Pizza is made-to-order with all the requisite pizza toppings as well as green chile. Dion's own ranch dressing does double-duty as the best accompaniment to a slice of pizza, you'd be remiss not to give your pizza a dip (and only 35 cents extra!). I'm also eternally appreciative for the single slices of pizza, still made to order, that come in under $1.50. Adding a salad to your pizza is not only a way to get veggies into your diet but is actually a worthwhile order at Dion's. Chef, caesar, and greek salads are the main offerings, though these are also made to order so you can add and subtract items as you please. Pizza and salad haters should still be able to find an agreeable sandwich. Sandwiches are sub-style and chock full of deli meat goodness, a generous sprinkling of lettuce and tomato, greek dressing and a side of potato chips. Filling includes ham and swiss, turkey, and roast beef. The Montgomery location has a perplexing parking lot (try the adjacent dr.'s lots when dining after hours) with the ridiculously useful drive-through - call ahead and pick up your pizza on the way home without ever leaving your car. If you're dining during lunch be aware of the high school crowd from Eldorado up the street and general lunchtime crowds that descend. Despite the crowds at peak times, I've never waited more than 15 minutes for my food - usually less, and I've never had a problem with seating. read more

Dion's is "OK" - I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could. The "pizza" is typical of places that don't have a real "pizza tradition" - like us here in ABQ. Don't get me wrong - I think Dion's a good value and the food is OK - I've probably had more meals here than many other places around town over the years - it's close to home and the kids really like it. (They also like Pizza Hut of course...) The subs are also just OK - again, don't get me wrong they're made to order but again, they are basically indistinguishable from a hundred other places. Employee's are very slow here on taking an order compared to other locations. Trash (Paper plates) on the floor and other derbies. Window blinds are absolutely dirty and hazardous. Napkins are almost completely empty in each of the containers. Also observed one employee wasting a while bunch of soda while pouring the drinks. Trash can tops look well, trashy on the frames. They also left the seats completely wet and the sanitation of the tables are very questionable to this very point. Restrooms are also cramped and unwell kept. I cannot remember the last time this location got my order right, food is often disheveled, burnt, or underdone, and on many occasions I've had pieces of my order forgotten. I've always loved their slices but the professionalism displayed by their management when I got upset is what really earned them five stars. I ordered a slice with two toppings online. When I went to pick it up, there was no one manning the special register for phone/online orders so I waited for the three people ahead of me to be helped even though my pizza was just sitting on a shelf waiting to be handed to me. The cashier finished with the last person and a woman walked up and asked him to refill her lemonade as if I wasn't standing there waiting to be helped. I was prepared to wait it out some more until they began to engage in a detailed conversation about said lemonade (while some more people walked up behind her). At that point I announced very LOUDLY "Excuse me! I'm standing here waiting. I ordered and paid online and still waited my turn, when am I going to be served???" The poor cashier didn't seem to realize that I was speaking to him and didn't even look at me. I turned to the other four or five staff walking and standing nearby, put both my hands in the air and shouted "I'm right here! Can no one see me? Am I invisible or something? What the hell is going on???" The cashier then snapped to and addressed me. I explained that I ordered and paid online and was just waiting to pick up my slice. I also berated him a little about the fact that I shouldn't have had to wait in the first place because there is a line for people who have already ordered and paid. He calmly asked if I wanted to speak to a manager and I said "NO, I just want my f**king slice of pizza!" The manager came over, apologized and offered me a free drink. I crankily refused and repeated to him the my story about how things were supposed to go for me versus how it had been handled. He then offered me a brownie or other desert. I thanked him, refused, left with my slice and then drove home thinking about what an impatient asshole I'd been over an extra three minute wait. When I got home and opened my box, it contained a slice with jalapeños and ANCHOVIES. I am a vegetarian and had actually ordered jalapeños and artichoke hearts. All regret over my self-righteous indignation flew out the window. I immediately called and asked for the manager and explained to him (quite forcefully) that my order was wrong and that I would now go to bed without the slice I had spent 45 mins ordering, waiting for, and driving home with. He offered that he would make sure an email was sent to me giving me a free slice. I told him that was bullshit because all that did was replace the slice I already paid for and hadn't received. What about my time and frustration. Unfazed by my nastiness, he said "You're right, I'll send you two slices with two toppings each." Less than 24 hours later, the email arrived in my inbox as promised. The quality of the food is probably a four but the quality of customer service in the face of an epic amount of ranting from me is definitely a five. I apologize to the staff who had to experience my scorn and rage over a five minute wait for a $3 slice of pizza. It was inexcusable. You made mistakes but they were totally understandable mistakes for a Saturday night and you remedied them each as soon as I brought them to your attention. My behavior and tone was uncalled for and a deeply appreciate the patience you each displayed with me despite my volume. read more

I already don't go to the University/Gibson location due to similar issues: -Too slow and especially during the evening rush - Screwed up my order way too many times to count (I did contact corporate the last time and the customer service relations specialist asked to give them one more chance...you see this post right?) - Teamwork clearly doesn't exist here - The location is very congested and when told to "wait by the fire lane" for your order, it's very annoying. 2 cars, 3 at most fit on that side of the curb and when it's clear a 4th car isn't, you don't tell the customer to pull up there anyway because it would block traffic. Yes, I'm talking about what happened an hour ago where I was blocking traffic because my order wasn't ready. And to make matters worse, the General Manager was on duty and that place was still a mess. Pizza= pepperoni and green chile + homemade ranch dressing Subs= turkey and green chile with chips + homemade Greek dressing Salad= ranch salad full size with either Greek Or ranch dressing But heck it's all great! I'm allergic to citrus but before it developed I always had the freaky made lemonade!!! They hire local students so it's also fun to see our students grow and prosper! Disappointing. We ordered online for the first time. I assumed salad dressing was on the side but couldn't confirm if it would be. So we decided to ask for it when we picked up. They charge $.51 for salad dressing when you ask for it after the order. I don't fault the 16 year old employee who couldn't make a decision to actually include it with the salad, it is a customer service breakdown. Dion's pizza is awesome, the subs are the best subs your money can buy, and the salads aren't too shabby, themselves. The ranch dressing is literally the best ranch I've ever eaten.
