The ambiance is nice. The server was nice to give her a 10/10. However, some things need improvement from the managing side. Food takes a while to come out. If you have plans to go somewhere else after I wouldn't recommend eating here. It does take a while to receive food. I ordered the empanadas. They were a little saltier than expected. However, kitchen can improved on that. I also ordered the French toast. I loved it 10/10! The drinks were presentable, loved for Instagram. The only thing that I didn't like were the cups and plates dusty with a hair in it. I didn't say anything and requested a new plate. In my opinion it can be a hazard for germs to collect. Otherwise, it's a nice place to spend a girls day. read more

This restaurant has absolutely horrendous service. I do not recommend going here, and I will not be coming back. We had a reservation at 8:45 and we weren't seated until at least 9:20. Around 9:00 we went back to the reception desk and asked the hostess how much longer it would be. She turned to one of the other hostesses who audibly said "10-15 minutes". The hostess then turned to us and said "about 5 minutes", so they blatantly lied to us. Once we were finally seated, it took them probably 15 minutes to come take our order, so we ordered our food and drinks all at once. The music in this place is louder than in a club. You cannot hear the person speaking directly next to you. Less than 10 minutes after ordering, my entree came out. Only mine. We hadn't even received our drinks. After about 30 minutes we stopped a random waiter, because ours had vanished into thin air, and asked about our drinks. He informed us that their bar was "severely backed up" and it might be a while. My boyfriend's entree then came out. Still no drinks, nor food for the other two members in our party. Our drinks finally came about 45 minutes after they ordered them. And the last two entrees about an hour after they were ordered. While eating, they randomly brought out a single taco. We told them we didn't order it and they said it "was fine" and left it with us, so we ate it. After ordering a second round of drinks, it took probably another 45 minutes, and two inquiries about them. The food was decent, but the drinks didn't taste like alcohol at all, despite the fact that they're $20 each. When we received our check, we saw that we had been charged for the taco we hadn't ordered, in addition to a random 3% surcharge. We told them we didn't order the taco and wanted it removed and they said we had eaten it so we'd have to pay for it. We inquired about the 3% surcharge, and without any explanation, they removed it. Seems like they were just trying to get money out of us. Do not come here if you want to speak to anybody else at your table or get served in a reasonable amount of time. read more

From start to finish the customer service here is amazing . Once being seated Alejandro introduced himself as our server for the night , I couldn't have asked for a better server . First time and last time here. My sister made a reservation here to celebrate our nieces birthday and our as well. While this is a beautiful restaurant our experience was terrible. Let's start with just arriving there. The girls in the front are uninviting and unpleasant. They are rude, dismissive and not friendly. That already sets the mood for the restaurant which I would hate if I was the owner of this restaurant. As we were seated we noticed the glasses on the table were not clean. The chair my sister pulled to sit on had meat grease. When she pulled the table closer to here her hands were sticky with residue left on the table. Also the menus were filthy. We debated on staying....we did. We ordered a bottle of champagne. They took about 25 mins to bring it and when they did there was no presentation and the guy did not know how to open it. Seems like there is a lack of training. The food was okay nothing I would go back for. We ordered the carnitas shareable option and camarones a la diabla. They were at best a 5 out of 10. After drinking the bottle we also ordered a watermelon paleta drink which tasted like pickles so I returned it. We also ordered a rose gold drink. That was okay. Our waitress was nice and brought us a birthday shot. However she only came around 2-3 times. Overall everything was overpriced. Just a mediocre restaurant that wants to charge ridiculous prices. $400 later not worth it. Go spend your money elsewhere. read more

Came for brunch and celebrated one of my friends bday here and she received a cute poster with her name and what looked like a sundae dessert for her bday. Our server Taylor was very friendly and attentive she recommended the queso fundido which we added the chorizo and it was chefs kiss.Me and my friends chose different foods and everyone was shook at how good their food was and they were good size portions. I recently came here with some friends and right off the bat the ambiance is beautiful and I love all the different details, the soft pretty chairs, and fancy chandeliers, definitely has a woman's touch! Our server was a young man who was very friendly and professional (that's hard to find these days). We started out with some drinks, I had The coco Chanel and one friend had the Tulum Tulum. Both were exceptional! The salsa trio and smoked guacamole were fantastic. I especially enjoyed the creamy salsa with saffron, it was something unique and I was addicted. Plus they have the good corn tortilla chips, the kind that are homemade and not too hard to crunch on. That guac was chunky and had great flavor. For my entree I had the enchiladas poblanas. I was pleasantly surprised at the delicious smoky flavor from the mole. It's a mole flavor I've never had before and it was delicious! The portion was good too I had plenty of left overs which I took home to my husband and he loved them too and said he really wants to go to DIOSA for a date night with me (yasss). I also tasted my friends salmon risotto, wow very unique, salmon had a crispy outer layer and was soft on the inside and the rice was slightly sweet from the coconut milk and very tasty! They also surprised us with some horchata ice cream, yum so good! Can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious dishes. It's a must try kinda place. They provide good service, they serve you water immediately or at least offer. There's a woman that walks around with a margarita cart. I don't recommend getting a spicy margarita because you won't be able to taste the flavor just the spiciness which is excessive in my opinion and I like spice. Unfortunately they do not provide chips while you wait for your food like other restaurants do, like Javier's. I got the pollo al pastor, decent portions! There was a lot of chicken which I prefer, not a lot of rice and beans. It was mostly an average experience especially due to it portraying itself as an upscale environment. I really don't like that they added a 3% surcharge to the receipt "to accommodate for rising prices", don't sneak in a charge, just increase the price of your food and let us tip your servers. read more

I came in this past Saturday for my birthday with 5 other guests. Our reservation was for 8:15 there was maybe a person or 2 waiting when we arrived but I did make it a pint to say I wanted a booth and or somewhere with a good view of the restaurant. They say us right in between the large party private room and the bar ... which means my pregnant sister and my two brother in laws were constantly bumped into as pp went to and from, we had no view of anything Where we could see no ambiance, not even 20 min a couple came in and sat at a large booth. I wouldve liked the option to wait and get what ibreally wanted a booth bc the eay our table was set up was as if it was a makeshift setting to accommodate us, when i made our reservation a month in advance Our waitier finally came out and was super nice but was always MIA. Gone for more that 25 mins at a time constantly leaving everyone with empty water glasses and our apps and drinks from the bar that we were so close to taking more than 45 min to receive. My guest were very patient but was starting to doubt me bc at this point we don't have a good seat, looking at only the back of the bars pps body's and the curtains to the closed room, and no food or drinks and have now ran out of water ...which I raved about how beautiful this place was and the presentation of it all. My husband had to request a pitcher of water from a bus boy just to keep us hydrated. My brother in law goes to the RR and there is a mess in the unoccupied stall as if some one was sick and no one from hospitality had cleanes up for a while. our food finally came out and when a few guest asked for sauces and or anything in addition. The wait staff never returned only to see our waiter at my last few bites and by then my food was cold. We spent upwards of $425 and all we could do was wonder if the experience had better would it have been worth it . Yes, it's pricey so expectations were high. Failed, no flavor. For a Latin kitchen you're expecting sazon but everything was very bland. We ordered mexican corn, probably only tasty item however too much lime for my liking and it was spicy which was a good thing. Nopales slaw, no flavor it's literally nopales and slaw. Aguachiles, over cooked, sitting in olive oil with no flavor but they were spicy. Fillet mignon with scallops and 1 shrimp and the only item with flavor was the scallops. They make this potato croquette sounds amazing but it's fried mashed potato and the fried shell is too thick and overbearing again with no flavor. Churros, looked amazing but too hard to eat. Think the flambé ruined them by being cooked in all that caramel. Think it would have been better to just flambé the bananas apart from churros so they maintain their original texture. Drinks had beautiful presentation but couldn't taste the alcohol so you have to order quite a few too catch a buzz but it's going to cost you. $400 for 2, 6 drinks plus everything I mentioned. I'm okay spending on fine dining especially if the food is delicious but this wasn't it. Beautiful place however over priced for bland food. Then they charge a surcharge of 3% for "rising cost " , I thought that's why they were already charging $40 for ceviche? read more

ok, lets start with aesthetic. the restaurant is very elegant, very upscale and trendy. They did an amazing job with decor. I dined here for an early dinner last Sunday with a friend. The Staff was amazing, very attentive and constantly asking if we needed anything without being overbearing. Our server was great, very friendly and when I asked for recommendations he did a great job at explaining the dishes. Now the food and drinks.. I was not impressed. The food is ok. We ordered the Steak empanadas and Sea bass tiradito. Nothing special just good. I wanted to try one of their cocktails and had the Madre de Dragones. A little too sweet for my liking but its very refreshing. For our main entree we had the Enchiladas Poblanas and the Steak Arrachera. Both dishes were good, not great, not amazing, definitely not memorable just ok. I have had much more flavorful Arrachera at other restaurants. Overall nothing about the food or drinks would make me want to come back. Ive dine at many restaurants with high prices and for the most part i leave feeling like i paid accordingly for what i ordered. This was not the case at Diosa. Its expensive for sure. Our 4 dishes and 1 cocktail came out to a grand total of $192! I can see why people would want to visit, its for sure very Instagram worthy. But the food and drinks just isnt it for the price. read more

I'll break up my review in portions and experiences: Appetizers: -empanadas - solid app, nothing to write home about. -aguachile habanero/mango - super so delicious, big portion (has to be for the price), shrimp were very good quality and size. -ahi tuna tower - great app, nice spice level and fresh ingredients. Main Course: -Steak - ordered medium rare got med well no pink at all, didn't opt to return due to poor waiter service. -Arrachera - why ask what temp you want it when they char everything, came dry as can be, beans were cold. -Mar y Tierra - Scalops were over cooked and so was the steak, fortunately for the restaurant my wife likes her meat like jerky. Service: Reservation on fathers day for a group of 7 including 3 kids. Upon arrival very rude because we had kids and dismissive to our group, should have been my queue to leave but due to occasion and time it just wasnt practical. We were then seated isolated as to not disrupt others guest with no kids. Waiter immediately asked if we were ready to order, no water, no drink and definitely no pleasantries. We ordered drinks and immediately after asked if we knew what we wanted to order. The entire experience kept the same tone for the entire experience which was 75 minutes from beginning to end. I advise you all to shy away from a main course here, their drinks and apps are great and maybe for a low key evening, just dont bring kids as they will seat you exiled and near others with kids. Went with the family to celebrate father in laws birthday.. Beautiful inside & outside, definitely wasn't expecting this type of environment in Downey. As a Downey native not something that speaks what the city truly is. Found myself in a night club style restaurant.. workers looked like they were ready for the club. Didn't expect all the parking stalls to be coned off (which about 20 parking stalls) so we'd have to use the valet. When being sat down about fifteen minutes past our reservation time. We were greeted by our table host after sitting for about ten minutes.. ordered our beverages and requested specialty drinks and were told it would take 30/35 minutes to receive those drinks and that we're welcomed to enjoy table side drinks which were provided on a cart that a host was rolling around. We ended up not ordering our alcohol beverages, and went straight to ordering our main dishes.. which took an hour to reach our table.. which was a party of eight. All entrées came at separate times and not a few minutes I'd say about 10 to 15 minutes apart. Table host didn't show his presence until end.. when we asked another host to provide us with our bill. We didn't get asked for any refills or apologized on behalf of the service we were provided. Also, food was cold... which shouldn't have been.. and the price the customer is paying for each entree and drink is pretty aggressive. Beautiful restaurant, but management, service, and pricing is poor. Sad, but we wouldn't make our way back. read more

The decor is super nice and everything seems to be clean. The prices were outrageous for average food nothing really stood out as it tasted like something from any other place. Cheap store bought tortillas. It's more the presentation than it is good with taste which doesn't match the price. Service was good but the drinks were horrible and I felt like they don't know how to make the drinks proper for being around 20$ per cocktail atleast make the drinks right and good. The ambiance was good. Everyone is attentive and polite. The restaurant is beautiful/fancy. The food was horrible! Both my friend and I agreed the food was bad I ordered their poblana enchiladas and she ordered the mar enchiladas and she also didn't like them. We had originally ordered a strawberry horchata drink and it was not good at all it was chalky and the after taste was horrible. We politely asked our waiter to forgive us for sending the drinks back, but it was just not fair to pay so much money for bad drinks he politely asked us why and we told him and got us some new drinks which were some sandia dulce drink. Service was not great waiters were nice but the speed of service was not good considering there was only like 10 customers in the building. It wasn't good. my drink stayed empty for too long more than once. For the prices they charge I would expect them to check on us more. This place is amazing!! I wish I would have taken more photos. This place is located in Downey, CA. There is an open parking lot in the front but valet is also available. The ambience is very glam and sophisticated. You open up the big glass doors and are welcomed with beautiful hosts and a beautiful chandelier. Food is amazing. The steak empanadas for appetizers are juicy and filing, the ahi tuna tower paired with some yummy garlic chips is delicious and shareable. The camaron taquitos are small but have a great taste and church. Of course the tomahawk steak is delicious, can never go wrong there. The mint chimichurri goes well with the steak, gives a good kick. The bone marrow is on the small side but delicious and the red pickled onion compliments it well. For drinks; from best to least liked; coco channel, lavender honey lemonade, skinny margarita and the Kylie. Desserts: you have to try the churros foster, it's a whole experience and so delicious! read more

We came here to celebrate a friends birthday. First let me start with the parking. Although there is a big lot it can be time consuming to find a spot because of all the people there. We had reservations we waited about 20 minutes, however it was ok because that is how long it took to find parking. We were seated and our waiter came over immediately. We started with drinks I had the strawberry basil margarita it was amazing and my friend had the X fenty which she liked. We ordered the smoked guacamole and chips, there was huge chunks of avocado so I had to mash it to make it more like guacamole and you do not get a lot of chips but they are very tasty. We ordered street corn (that our waiter must've forgot about because we had to ask about it and it came after our meal came). I ordered the rib-eye Parilla and my friend got the Mar y Tierra. I had to send my steak back because I asked for well done and they gave me medium rare. The place itself is beautiful, service is okay, the hostesses were great however the wait staff seemed bored very straight faced no emotion at all.
