My family of four dined at Dip and Happy for breakfast. Parking was a bit challenging, but we were later told there was a lot across from the restaurant. My husband dropped us off and found a paid lot a couple of blocks away. We were greeted and seated right away. They have a to-go counter as well as ample seating. Decor is clean and simple. The menu has a lot of Middle Eastern influence. We ordered the following: Dark chocolate pistachio cappuccino Creme brulee cappuccino Iced americano x2 Chimichurri steak power bowl Shakshuka Shakshuka with steak Chicken pesto flatbread Baklava Everything came out quickly. My dark chocolate pistachio cappuccino is their version of the Dubai chocolate and it was plenty sweet but not overpowering. For my entree, I opted for the shakshuka which came with plenty of pita. It was delicious and hearty. My husband got the same thing and added steak. He, too loved it. Our kids also enjoyed their power bowl and flatbread. There's only smaller tables inside so this place would be best for solo diners or small groups. The menu has a lot of options which personally was overwhelming for me, especially with limited pictures. There was only one server present during my visit so things moved a little slow. Free Wifi is available (password is on the side of the fridge). I asked about some of the menu items and the server didn't seem too knowledgeable about them. I ordered a breakfast burrito (no red pickled onions and no pickled jalapenos) and creme brulee cappuccino with soymilk. I was definitely disappointed when my cappuccino came out looking nothing like the picture. They should warn people about ordering that drink with an alternative milk because there was absolutely no caramelization in it. The chef did come out and explain that it couldn't be done because of the type of milk but offered a replacement with 2% milk which I agreed to and appreciated. The drink was aesthetically pleasing but the sharp caramelized sugar pieces made it hard to drink and did not go down my throat smoothly. The breakfast burrito was pretty disappointing. The side of beans are the same beans that they put into the burrito. I also didn't receive a side of avocado ranch as indicated in the menu description but I just let it go since the staff seemed busy enough. The burrito ended up tasting pretty dry, flavorless, and bean-y. I know I opted to leave out the pickled onions and jalapenos, but I'm not sure if that would've made the burrito much better. My experience might've been a one-off, but I appreciated the staff for doing their best. I would suggest the place trimming down their menu and drink options to make it easier on back of house staff, ensure that there's available ingredients, and make it easier for front of house staff to really know the menu when customers ask about specifics. read more

I came here to meet a friend for breakfast and we were so busy talking that we didn't take pictures. Such a sad Yelp moment. My friend ordered the avocado toast with side of eggs and brewed coffee. I wasn't sure about the gluten free offerings so I opted for their Mediterranean shrimp salad, no dressing and Turkish coffee. The portion sizes were huge and such a great value. This was the most pleasant surprise! Dip and Happy is sure to leave you happy after visiting their cheery establishment. They serve as both a coffee bar and a sit down cafe restaurant. Their menu is expansive, offering a wide variety of types of food, both American and Middle Eastern in origin. We enjoyed the food, but the real deal for me is the coffee & baked goods offering. I tried the ube latte and I am obsessed. Not only was it gorgeous with the vibrant purple tones, but the taste was divine- strong espresso flavor but smooth with the mix of milk and a bit of sweet with the ube. I haven't stopped thinking about this latte since I last had it. We also tried the baklava, which is homemade from the owners wife, and it did not disappoint one bit. Served with a scoop of ice cream, it was stilt with honey yet soft with a bit of crunch from the filo dough. Just so good. The food here tasted incredibly fresh. I don't know what they put in the ciabatta bread, but it is the softest crunch within the sandwiches. My friend is gluten-free. She asked the server if a dish was gluten-free and the server responded, yes. However, the dish had breaded chicken and was not in fact, gluten free. Thankfully, my friend doesn't have a life-threatening allergy. The owner came to our table and comped her order and apologized for the mistake. The server was visibly shaken by her error. Just wow! This place has an extensive menu with so many delicious options! After taking what felt like forever to narrow down my options, the food and drink I ordered did not disappoint! My daughter ordered something she was not aware was going to be spicy and the waitress quickly offered to replace her meal with something else and comp the first meal. We checked out Dip and Happy in Tampa for Saturday brunch and the food was absolutely amazing. I had the Dubai Waffles and they were everything sweet, indulgent, and totally worth it. Covered chocolate drizzle, topped with fruit and pistachios serious dessert for breakfast vibes! I also ordered the Happy Healthy Breakfast Bowl, which was so refreshing. It's chia seed pudding and açaí sorbet at the base, topped with strawberries, bananas, pomegranate, and pistachios, drizzled with honey. It even came with a little berry compote on the side that added the perfect tart touch. So good, especially on a warm day. My boyfriend got the Breakfast Burrito and it was packed and flavorful he devoured it. We also had iced caramel lattes and they were delicious smooth and not overly sweet. Dip and Happy was anything but happy. The most disappointing dining experience I've had in my life. If I could give it 0 stars I would and they deserve it. TL/DR: Service and Food(if you get it) are terrible please spend your time/money elsewhere. Miserable experience and expensive for what you get(if you get it). It started out with us walking in and being told it would be 10 minutes for a table or more and we asked about sitting outside because they had 4 open tables. Still was told 10 minutes. No problem. We wait 12 minutes outside see multiple groups leave and then go in and ask again because nobody else was in line or waiting. They said oh yeah just sit outside. Another 10+ minutes go by where we said if they don't come and acknowledge us in 3 more minutes we would leave. They showed up with a minute to spare. Wish we would've left then. Gave them a chance my buddy ordered a caffeinated smoothie that he didn't think they added the caffeine to. Also had to ask for waters to be brought out. My wife just got coffee. Also asked for a high chair that she didn't bring out for 10 plus minutes. When our waitress came back we put in our food orders, my wife got açaí French toast, my buddy got 1/2 sandwich grilled cheese and French onion soup, I got a 1/2 pastrami and 1/2 clam chowder which was the soup of the week, also ordered a kids Mac and cheese for our child which the waiter asked if we wanted it out first and we said yes please as she was getting fussy. It took 45 minutes at least for them to bring out any food which was my wife's French toast and my buddy's 1/2 grilled cheese and French onion soup. As you can see in the picture was just a gelatinous goup and melted cheese that was luke warm. Said the sandwich was average at best. My wife said her French toast was fine. Then 15 minutes later our babies Mac n cheese finally came out which was dry noodles with some shredded cheese over the top as seen in photos. Nothing like what they had on their instagram. My friend sent back the French onion soup and said he would do the clam chowder instead when offered. 5 minutes later she came came back and said they were out of clam chowder, at this point I told them to cancel my food and just asked for the check since I had ordered it an hour earlier and never was asked. They came by after the check came with my sandwich and a different soup option on a plate and asked if I wanted it packed up to go multiple times but didn't offer to comp it so I declined. Still had us pay for the French toast and "Mac n cheese" and fruit for our baby and my buddy's his half grilled cheese. Waitress and hostess lady not apologetic at all or acknowledging of the wait or issues. Any decent place would've packed up my food after I said just cancel it after that amount of time and comped it. As we were walking away we were ran down by someone else on staff with a gift card saying sorry. We're from out of town and my buddy tried loading the card onto toast to order online and it says it has an error. So who knows if it works or how much is on it. But please don't waste your time or money on this place. So many better options. Shocked how they have such high ratings. read more

First thing's first- HUMONGOUS MENU. I'm talking full cafe with unique drinks, breakfast/lunch & dinner, and desserts. One of those places you could come back and get something new every single time! Service was great, helpful server with recommendations considering the huge menu, and told us about the seasonal specials. We didn't know what to do at first with no hostess but there is a hostess stand to seat you, or you can order at the counter for to-go. Everything we ordered was tasty, good sized meals for the price. Salad was yummy and dressing was just right. The grilled cheese didn't come out super fresh with the cheese already hardening, but still delicious. Definitely in line with other downtown restaurants in terms of slightly higher pricing. This is a cute place for a casual and quick meal. I came here because we had tickets to a performance at the Straz, and I didn't want to have to park twice. Dip and Happy is only 3 blocks from the Straz. You do have to cross a busy and wide street, but at least you get 45 seconds with the light. I got the Middle Eastern chicken rolls, and they were delicious. I liked the beet tabbouli that swapped out the standard tomatoes with beets. With all the citrus-y flavors, the beets did not overwhelm, but there was more substance to it. My daughter couldn't decide and ordered two kids meals. I like that the kids meals come with tater tots and/or fruit, and she liked that the fruit came with Nutella. She finished all the fruit, even if she didn't finish the chicken tenders or grilled cheese. Service was fast and very attentive (maybe because we were the only customers). You can order at the counter, but there are QR codes on the tables that say that you can order from your seat as well. I was too full from eating my meal (and part of my daughter's), so I didn't get to try a dessert, but I've been told that they are all house-made by the owner's wife. I'll have to return. read more
