Had brunch here with some girlfriends on a Saturday - brunch time in Hyde park, on the weekend, does not bode well for parking - just a heads up for those who may be unfamiliar with the Hyde park area. There are a few parking garages, but even those are a pain because people park like idiots. The parking situation isn't On Swann's fault, but it's an annoying factor. We had reservations well in advance, so we didn't have to worry about a wait. It was reasonably busy for a Saturday at brunch time. The decor and overall ambiance was classy but comfortable, which is great imo. Our server was nice and checked on us a good amount of times. The wait time between ordering our food and it coming to the table felt a bit lengthier than I would typically expect, but the food was delicious so it's hard to even complain about that. I got the short rib hash and a croissant and both items were wonderful. The croissant was flaky and buttery, it comes with a honey dip and butter on the side, would def get again. The short rib hash was also a menu item I would order again - the eggs were cooked perfectly, and I'd say I'm a little picky with how runny my eggs are. These were runny, but not TOO runny. The potatoes had a nice crisp to the outside but nice and soft on the inside, the short rib was so tender, so juicy, it was just a very well rounded, great tasting hash. This was my first time visiting On Swann for brunch, I'll be back for sure, but maybe on a weekday instead of the weekend since it seems to get pretty crowded in the Hyde Park Village area! read more

I came here for lunch and it was a great experience. On Swann offers interior and exterior sitting, just be careful of the no-see-ums, when sitting outside. Connor was my waiter and he was friendly and attentive. Check on my table frequently and knew the menu well as he recommended a few options. Came back here again but for Mother's Day brunch. We had an amazing visit as usual. However I was super bummed that the menu no longer offers the fried green tomatoes, as those were my favorite here. This time I ordered the smoked Salmon and it was delicious. I had a few bites of the cinnamon roll, which was still amazing. I looked over at my dad's plate which was the short rib hash, and it did not look that great. It was very minimal looking. I tried the famous kale salad and it was bland. My bf ordered the chicken and waffles and was disappointed with the chicken. It was kind of dry and he would have preferred an actual fried peice of chicken instead of tenders. I mean I don't even know where to start. I love this place to much I was visiting from California and I came here twice all my friends I brought enjoyed everything. My favorite was the hummus platter however they do change their menu often for the seasons but the capper berries was such a nice touch. The burger was juicy and delicious. We celebrated a few family birthdays at On Swann and we had the most perfect night! The attention to detail was so impressive here. Everything felt very intentional from the custom "Happy Birthday" menus to the amazing customer service. We were treated to complimentary palate cleansers and two warm funfetti cookies for dessert (they were sooo yummy!). I like that the atmosphere is elegant without being over-the-top fancy. We love coming to On Swann!! We enjoyed a little Saturday night date night at this quaint spot in Hyde Park. We booked a table for 5pm and by the time we left at 7, there wasn't a seat left in the house (including outside seating). We started with a bottle of Pinot from Ken Wright Willamette Valley (US's hidden gem for vineyards). So good. We enjoyed our fav apps--Pimento Cheese and the kale salad. Another stellar nite of eats at On Swann. We came here to celebrate my dear friends birthday. Our server Priscilla helped guide us through the menu with her recommendations. She was awesome, loved her energy. Side note: their menu changes according to the seasons. We had the opportunity to try the Fall menu. My faves were Zeppole with the amazing dipping sauces, Kale Salad, Lamb meatballs with the melt in mouth grits, Arancini balls (wow) and of course the dessert board ( we went for Bread pudding,decadent chocolate cake and cobbler). My friend raved about the chicken but it was too sweet for me. There was nothing "hot" about the chicken. Empanadas were lost on us, was lacking texture. Lastly the hummus, i didn't like this at all. It's in a Hyde park strip of very nice stores so after eating you can always have a good time. Because I came on Easter parking was very hard but usually it should be easy to find a spot! The food was set neatly and the servers came to clean very often. I got the BLT and it was very flavorful only downside was the bread was very greasy, it took away the healthy fresh feeling of the sandwich. My son and I first came here for a "one last great meal before leaving Tampa" and it was certainly a good decision. What makes or breaks an establishment sometimes is the staff. Well no worries here as everyone was spot on, from the hostess, the bus staff and our Server Taylor. From start to finish she was on top of everything from recommendations to polite banter about many things. Drink selection was good and then oh dough nut old fashion kind of unique. Restaurant itself is nicely spaced, also have outdoor seating with fire heaters. Bathroom was clean. The food was fantastic. Of course I did not get pictures of everything but I did get pics of my short rib pasta which was very tasty. We also got a dessert board for our bosses birthday and the cookies were warm and yummy. Love this restaurant! The staff is so nice. We bought our dogs to eat outside on the patio and they kept coming over to pet our dogs. So sweet! When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted at the register and seated at our table. It also has very nice outdoor dining. The menu covers just about any dish one might want and the foot is very good. The bartender shared thoughts on the menu, so I knew what I was getting before I sat at my table. Once at the table, our server was quick to bring water. We came here celebrating our 10th anniversary. They printed out a menu with "Happy Anniversary" on top, which was a nice touch. We also got these little spoons of some sort of plantain taster... I don't remember the details but it was one of the best bites of food we had. Really awesome start to our meal. We tried the saffron arancini, which were nice and crisp on the outside and the sauce was delicious with it. The hot honey chicken was so excellent - definitely a must get! I tried the pork chops which had a great tasting crust and sweet soft apples. The cabbage was vinegary and just fresh. But the cheesy grits were just over the top - so good! Amazing texture for grits. My husband got the steak frites, which he found enjoyable. I ordered the Pan Roasted Grouper which was placed on top of rice pilaf in a lemon basil butter sauce. It was cooked at a perfect temperature. The rice in the lemon butter sauce was delicious. I get it without the bacon to make it vegetarian, but this tower of kale and pecans and Parmesan along with some other yummy surprises satisfies every time. Located in the lovely Hyde Park Village in the Southside of Tampa, On Swann is a class restaurant that is both hip and full of delicious cooking, bringing us to a place of nirvana and Zen. For starters, they served us a complimentary deconstructed shakahuka, made gluten-free in honor of my wife's birthday, which was delectable. For starters, we split the Beef Carpaccio arugula that was magical with the aji amarillo aioli, parmesan, and truffle oil. The Hot Chicken crisp tenders were absolutely stellar with the spicy buttermilk batter and paprika honey butter and romesco aioli. Personally, I could have just ordered the Beef Carpaccio and the Hot Chicken crispy tenders. That completely satisfied me to the point where I had to take the Pork chop back home after attempting to make a dent in it, as I was already full. But make no mistake, the double chop Pork Chop was blissful between pairing with the peach mostrada and Anson Mills cheddar grits. It was made with magic and mystical wonderment. The interior of On Swann is stunning, lots of windows, upscale, but not too fancy, comfortable seating, and nice lighting. Our server, Darlington, was so sweet and offered some cocktail suggestions. I settled on the Life Gives You Lemons, a gin and limoncello cocktail, and it was refreshing (I ended up getting a second one!). My friend and I shared the kale salad, beef carpaccio, and the green curry mussels. The presentation of the kale salad is so cool, like a mountain of kale and parmesan, with all the goodies inside. The beef was presented perfectly, and the mussels were the star for me! I couldn't get enough of the green coconut sauce, almost needed to more garlic toast to sop it up! Hearing all of the great things and never having time to visit, my boyfriend surprised me for our anniversary with dinner reservations at On Swann and this place surprised our already high expectations! Starting with custom Happy Anniversary menus, a sweet card from the staff and a glass of champagne to start our meal, the bar continued to get raise higher and higher. Our server Thomas was so helpful as we made our food decisions (the menu has so many good options it was tough to choose!!). We opted for the Saffron Arancini for our nibble option. These were delicious and although fried rice balls, very light and lots of flavor. The Burrata was the perfect starter to follow - light, also very flavorful and refreshing before getting our main entrees. I chose the Steak Frites which came out cooked perfectly and the fries were delicious. My boyfriend got the Short Rib Pasta and added burrata for some extra cheese and we were bigggggg fans! As we finished our bottle of an Argentinian Malbec, we made room for dessert and this is an absolute MUST. I can't recall the name, but our server recommended the cake with vanilla ice cream (pictured) and it was just PERFECT! Not too heavy after our meal and unlike any dessert I've had. I had been looking forward to trying several items I'd seen featured in various Yelp reviews, but when we arrived, I noticed that the lunch selection was limited. I was finally able to cross this place off my list! My husband took me for a date night and we went the day before New Year's Eve. One of the coldest nights in Tampa. It was busy. I think all the out of town family that came down for the holidays all decided to go this particular night. I loved the outfits of the hostess. The food was delicious. I started with a beet salad which was so tasty. The only difference I would make would have been to add more whipped feta. It was big enough that we both were able to share. Then my husband had the beef carpaccio with pomme frites while I had the burger. Although I was given ketchup with my burger and fries, the harissa aioli was the better option to have with the fries in our opinion. My friends told me I should go for brunch, so looks like I have to go back to try out that menu. The menu is on the expensive side, so if budget is an issue you may be limited to your options but you will still have a great meal. And our server Natalia was very sweet and quick.
