Waiting.....waiting....waiting. If it wasn't for my kid, I probably wouldn't be back. If you're going to have a showcase and know you're having a large crowd then your kitchen should be prepared. We decided to try this for our New Year's Dinner. Ordered Pizza and Antipasto Salad. Salad was large and had a lot of ingredients but they gave us the wrong dressing. Who eats Thousand Island on an Antipasto?? Pizza was soggy and crust was burnt. Pepperoni requested was left off. I would rate it just so so. However we were shocked to see people dining inside the restaurant against current covid regulations and my husband said the person who served him was not wearing a mask. Hands down great customer experience! Seth & crew took care of my family and I as if we were regulars. Food was amazing, Wedge Salad was crazy good, The Sampler w/artichokes excellent, "Mac-n-Cheese" outstanding, lasagna fantastic. It was a feast and unfortunately we arrived to early for the bands but it was a perfect venue to celebrate my little nephew's 1st birthday (which included a desert, candle and Seth singing happy birthday along with us!) We had a great time, my family and I were extremely happy and I owe all of my gratitude to the owners that reached out and ensured a memorable experience in which they delivered. I came in on a Monday when they were having live music. The atmosphere is fun and the food is great. I don't normally drink so I had a lot of questions about alcohol and usually bartenders get annoyed, however the two bartenders were extra helpful. The first time I had the pizza fries...my little brother still asks about them. Was harassed by the bouncer: he asked if I was eating or waiting for pick-up, I told him I was waiting for pick-up, and he stood by the door eying me uncomfortable. Was staying in Long Beach & my friend was getting off work later than planned so we decided on Pizza & beer. We ordered a medium combo pizza (hold the mushrooms), a dinner salad, two Pepsi's, & pepperoni chips. I placed the order online & within the hour dinner was delivered by Grubhub. The pizza, sans the mushrooms, was good although the center of it had floppy crust, not unusual for delivery. Crust wasn't real thick & it wasn't overloaded with sauce both of which were good things. Salad must've been good because my friend ate the whole thing & there were way too many pepperoni chips for us to even make a dent in them. I'm a little biased, hence the 4-star review. DiPiazza's is often the meeting place for the rally rides sponsored by the Long Beach Scooter Club. They're super accommodating to what often ends up being 60+ classic scoots (Vespa & Lambretta) lined up out front and owners of said scoots getting annihilated drunk post rally happenings, which involve drinks specials of some sort, live music as well as DJs spinning the best Northern Soul, dub, roots reggae, and punk in the south bay. The bar staff is friendly and they don't seem too bummed when not one, not two, but three pint glasses shatter to the floor in the span of a few hours. (Not my glasses, mind you, I'm not new to drinking at bars.) I ran a tab (cheap) and the bartender even let me charge my iPhone which was dead from snapping photos on the Classic Not Plastic ride thru PV and back. I dig this place. I see others had a great experience here. Let me tell you mine. And please know that this story is just the icing on the cake as there were other anti-customer service things that occured in my two momentary transactions. I came to this bar, let's say, in relation to the live bands. I don't drink so I got a Coke and a few slices of pizza. Long story short, they lost my bank card within two hours that I was there. The bartendress, having already shown zero wits when I first ordered, called me up after I had already driven home to Los Angeles to (this is a common sense test): a) say that she was sorry for the huge mistake but they looked all over and that it's just lost, and she could make it up to me with a coupon for a free pizza b) say she found it and they would gladly mail it to me because I live in Los Angeles and that she was extremely sorry for the error, or C) none of the above. The answer is C. She called me and tried to convince me the card I handed her (which I stared at a couple times while I was ordering so I know this is not true) from my own wallet was in fact NOT my card; that I had given her a card that did not have my name on it, or someone from my party handed me a card to give to her that was clearly not mine???? I asked her 'Does that REALLY make logical sense to you? Isn't it MORE likely that you may have mixed up the cards behind the bar and accidentally signed out someone else on my card???'. Her response was 'I really don't know what to say to that except the card you gave was not your card'. $1 pizzas every Mondays and Tuesdays after 4! Ahh I've been eyeing this place but just never went in for one reason or another. Finally, my bf and I had a reason to check it out..one of our favorite bands Badfish was performing here on one Friday night. We saw a flyer and saw the cover was only $10 so why not? We were already excited as it was hearing the jazz music while barely at our car. Walking in, I definitely didn't expect it to be a bar atmosphere at all! The name and the sign on the outside is misleading and just makes it seem like another pizza restaurant..boy was I wrong! It was dim inside with booths and tables in front of the stage to the right. You're met with their fully stocked bar as soon as you walk in through the entrance and the atmosphere is definitely inviting. Came here around 8 and the place was getting full but luckily we found seats right at the bar and still in good view of the stage. Our bartender was a little slow at first at getting us drinks (it took 10 minutes just to make eye contact with him and get his attention). But throughout the night he kept checkin in on us and was very attentive thereafter. He makes the drinks stiff! A plus! Chucky and I ordered a small pizza and not only was it cheesy and greasy (just how I like it!) but it was one of the best pizzas I've had by far. The bands that played were great, Badfish of course didn't disappoint and there were even artists there displaying their paintings/artwork for show and for people to buy. It's an eclectic crowd but definitely not the rowdy drunken douche bag type where you know a fight is about to stir up. Definitely coming back again. We enjoyed ourselves here. read more

Really? This place reminds me of a crappier version of Martini Blues. DiPiazza's is a lot of fun especially if you're a musician. Sound guys are cool and they treat the bands very well. No shameless plugs here. I have played this club a few dozen times and if you act like a pro, you're treated like one. It's an easy place to pack and may appear to be oddly setup but it's not. You have a side to avoid the music and have family time and the other side is where the bands play. For my first few times playing here I didn't even think to order the food. Wow, what a mistake, many of the recipes here are family and I think it gets overlooked as simply a rock club. I was so surprised by the food that I frequent the place now before bands start because the food is that top-notch. If you're not into rock clubs...go before 8pm and try thier insanely incredible pesto pizza. Prices are a tinge steep but not by Italian food standards. Dipiazza is a family from Italy. And never found the place described by Jonathan who checked in two days ago. I suspect he may of checked in to a different bar by mistake after a few drinks lol! He's been there 5 check ins 's it can't be that bad!! Or he wouldn't be going back! Also Jonathon you checked in on Thanksgiving.. and they were CLOSED! your review has no credibility.. I suspect you are at another bar that was OPEN Thanksgiving, Long Beach had a lot of them.. these guys were closed, though so you really have your wires crossed. Been here at least half a dozen times and all I can say is BORING. They charge too much at the door. The local bands that play never seem to draw ANYONE. Its just not any fun. When the bands are playing people are just sitting in booths which are pretty separate from the stage....the set up of the place is pretty cool for dining, but not a venue... This is all really sad because I love the fact that I can drink and smoke outside, and play photo hunt at the bar. read more

if you're an o.g. long beach citizen you are likely to know the musical history of dipiazza: it boasts the patronage of many established musicians in the rock/alternative scene. reason being is dipiazza is a performer friendly venue and just about any music outfit with enough pizazz has been given an opportunity to perform throughout the years including once unknown musicians now currently enjoying mass popularity. however service-wise dipiazza still remains no more than just your local eatery joint with a very entrepreneurial owner. the food isn't fantastic, the service isn't all that great and the menu steers heavily towards the fast food genre with a few italian food dishes thrown in for quasi credibility. there is music entertainment provided almost every night with a heavy emphasis on entertainment as you might be entertained by either the ability or ridiculousness of the bands performing. not particularly a place to come visit if you're not local however if you want some fast food at a jointy place, dipizazza will strike your fancy and palette. read more

I worked here for about six years and I have to say that diPiazza has the best pizza in town! I ate it week after week and never got sick of it. That's saying a lot! Another great reason to drop in would be all of the awesome live music night after night. Check out the schedule online and you're almost guaranteed to find something you'll like every month. there's that part in der untergang where mother goebbels systematically eliminates her own children, one at a time as they sleep, before the russians take the bunker. It's odd because you're like "woohoo! take that, nazi scum!" At the same time though, you feel bad because they're just kids. Watching the whole thing is overwhelmingly horrific. It's nice to go check out your friend's band at di piazzas. It's odd because you're like "woohoo friend!" You're supporting the effort. They spent serious hours after work practicing really hard and finding a bass player, even though they're all 33 and should have accepted the "rock star dream" realization thing years ago. At the same time, you're really pissed because it was seven bucks to get in, 21 bucks for a few drinks and 30 bucks for substandard italian food and irish nachos. Dipiazza's is not well known. Yet!!! Mark my words, one day Dipiazza's will become a Long Beach institution. Supposedly it was built in the 50s, and today it is the home to a really eclectic group of people. For starters, unlike so many bars in the LBC, Dipiazza's is actually in a good neighboorhood. On select evenings they have various things going on, like local bands, djs, trivia competitions, movie nights, and games. Whomever is managing this place is actually using his or her brain. And THE PIZZA IS ACTUALLY PRETTY DAMN GOOD. These fantastic qualities in conjunction with arcade games, a smoking patio, a full bar and 20 beers on tap, Dipiazza's is one of the more well rounded bars I can think of. read more

Went to see a friends band here. The strip mall location and combination pizza house might throw you off at first, but we had a great time at this little joint. There is a very large half circle bar for people to order drinks at. Bartenders are friendly and speedy even with the busy crowd and blaring band music. They have a small outdoor patio for smokers. A few old school arcade games are on one side, on the other is the stage area. There are some tufted booths and tables with chairs set up in front of the small stage. It was the perfect set up to see a local band while enjoying some decently priced cocktails. Overall feel is definitely a bit divey and grungy but we all had a fun time. It made it more fun that many people were into the live music. read more

This place is unsanitary. It smells bad inside like cigarettes and fast food. There's food and trash all over the floors. They serve drinks in cheap plastic cups. They took my reservation and didn't even have one for me when I got there. The pizza tasted like a frozen grocery store brand. Just you're run of the mill drinking whole.
