My husband and I loved how lightly sweetened both the cream and the dough were. My tween was a little indifferent and would've preferred something non-cream filled with more sugar, but that's a tween for you. It's a smaller space with some seating, but the seating doesn't have windows, so we opted to walk across and enjoy our donuts while wandering the farmers market instead -- honestly a perfect way to eat them. If you're a donut lover, put this place on your list even if you have to park and walk a bit. Worth it.

It seems that they are rightly known for their sweet baked goods, hence the name, but they have some savory offerings as well. I had heard good things about their congee so I made a point to try that. It was good! Filling, plenty of meat. I also have had a unique, savory roll that was buttery and great, I forgot what it's called but it's good. And I had a Lychee Rose brioche donut. Decadent! Delicious. Loved it. I got a Vietnamese coffee one time that was great, and a matcha milk with ube foam that was also great. So, yeah, really everything I've had has been great! The opening hours are painfully limited. They are only open from 9am to 1pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. And both times I came it was close to noon and they were sold out of LOTS of things. I'm convinced that if you go there because you want something specific, you simply can't trust them to have it available. Instead of planning a specific visit, the wiser approach would be to give them a look if you're in the area during one of the 12 hours they are open in a given week, and see if you're interested in what they aren't sold out of. They have an indoor counter which you get to via the main entrance on 4th street, and guessing your way through the halls until you find them past that gallery. There is also a seating section which has the ambience of a break room at a DMV. But there is also an outdoor window on Saturday & Sunday, with some seats set up in the alley; that description sounds dicey but it's perfectly fine. My hope is that they improve on some of this to make for a more predictably positive experience!

I managed to snag the LAST cinnamon roll! I am taking the fact it was the last in to account. It wasn't the freshest - and an outside corner piece - so it was a bit dry and hard. However, it turns out the roll is just an easy way to get the frosting in your face. Omg. Delicious, buttery amazing frosting. (Which they did frost at the time of purchase). The place is small but they have an upstairs as well as a nice garden patios.

It also came with perfectly done scrambled eggs and toast. I got a unique latte as well; I asked the barista for her favorite and wound up with a raspberry & dark chocolate latte that had a surprising shock of bitterness. It was great. You will probably really like the ambience. It appears to have been built out of a lovely Victorian home in Dayton's Bluff, and there is plenty of upstairs seating including cute tables on the landings. There is also a very green patio. Friendly service tops it all off nicely. Their only not-open day is Tuesday, so bear that in mind. There is neighborhood street parking which you may have to hunt around a bit for. I really think you'll enjoy hanging out here!

I ordered breakfast (served all day) and the sunflower toast...OMG! Star of the show! The entire meal was hot and fresh. Then we hit the bakery. This isn't explicitly stated anywhere though so I can see how it can get you turned around like the other reviews state. Staff at the counter was super friendly and very open to suggestions though so that's a plus. We brought my niece here for a "birthday brunch" on here 21st and overall had a great time. The inside of the shop isn't anything to write home about but it's cute and great for the atmosphere we were looking for. More of a chill vibe where you can hang out and talk, think cute coffee shop meets diner type vibe. The food was good, not amazing, but still pretty decent. A little bit speedy for what you get. in my opinion but overall pretty good. I got the biscuits and gravey which maybe had a little too much greens added on top. It messed with the texture of the rest of the dish but the flavor was there and overall I enjoyed it. All in all a solid breakfast spot. A little bit spendy, but feels pretty in line with a more traditional sit down restaurant pricing these days.

She tried making reservations…read moreonline and there was some issues so she called in and said we would be there between 745-8 and they said they could accommodate us. What we didnt know at the time was that they closed at 830. I believe this was a big part of what went wrong that night. At Bullvinos, you pay one fee and you get salad bar access and they come to your table with cuts meat until you're full. So many things went wrong this night. The waiter came over and asked what we wanted to drink, we asked for water and he poured us water from a bottle and he never came back to the table after that. We didnt know that the water cost money until someone later asked if we wanted another bottle or just tap water and the bottle was on the bill. They usually bring over bread and mashed potatoes and after being there a while, I had to ask for this and the bread wasnt fresh. The salad bar was closing shortly after we got there and staff made an announcement "the salad bar will be closing in 5 minutes so if you want something, go get it". I understood, but it just came off rude. They did come over with the meat very quickly, like almost lining up at our table and thats when I checked to see what time they closed. They didnt technically rush us and they asked if we had any requests for meat before they closed. For this type of restaurant, you probably want to have more than 30 minutes and I wish they had mentioned it over the phone when we called. I only had cuts of meat and it was all pretty good, didn't really get a chance for the salad bar though. For my first time there, this was a terrible experience and I had high hopes for them.

There's a variety of fruits, pasta salad, sauces, etc. I was happy to see they have the asian spicy sauce for the steaks. The servers will walk around with grilled meats. Each table will have a card to place on your table. Red side means no more meat and green side says more please. Don't forget every table gets unlimited cheese bread, plantain, and another breadstick. We left super full, definitely check them out for the experience.
