The Guy's name is Phil and the nice, sweet lady that works there with her little adorable child were awesome they went far and beyond' what any store would normally do just to help and please their customer' I was impressed after buying the first laptop. it was blazing fast! faster than any computer we had so I came back to them and asked for two more computers... and then just recently a few days ago I just came back to get two more! laptops. if you don't believe me, you can ask me or leave me a comment and i will even provide anyone with my personal phone number to verify I'm a 100% real customer and person. i can also provide pictures of my laptops as well. COVID-19 Aftermath Since I found Direct Computer Outlet a few years ago on Groupon they have been my Go-To guys for all things computer. Now that we are opening back up so have their doors. The masks are gone, and so are the gloves. For the second time since I found this place I had once again spilled coffee on the keyboard of my MacBook Air! The screen went dark, and everything was non-responsive. Quickly to the phone and found that they had reopened! So I packed up my unresponsive patient and headed for Olathe. Since it was late in the afternoon I was told that they would open it up later and let me know in the morning what my options would be. True to form, they called early the next morning and let me know that the mother board was fried. But they suggested they could remove my hard drive from the defunct unit, sell me one of their reconditioned one, and install the hard drive in it. I got another call right after noon and was given a very reasonable price. The "new" computer is a couple of years newer and a fine upgrade to the one I had trashed. In between that first trip and this last one I have purchased three other laptops (two for my in-laws and one for my wife) and repaired two of our iPhones. Each time I have been there has been hassle free, drama free, and very positive. All at more affordable prices that Best Buy or the Apple Store! Their great prices and amazing customer service have won my loyalty and continued business. Check 'em out, you could save a few bucks too! read more

Excellent service and sales. Have done business with the store in Mission in the past where I had a motherboard in a laptop replaced, a ss hd installed in a desktop to replace the existing drive which was then connected as an internal D drive, was given a wired mouse, and purchased two laptops; a Dell and a HP. Fair and reasonably prices. After repair and/or purchase, no need to see them again. Its done right the first time. Unfortunately, grew tired of M$ due to constant new and repeated issues, so I replaced Windows with Linux Mint and never looked back. All four computers work flawlessly, faster and use less resources then ever before, and have yet to encounter a problem like with Windows. Its actually fun to be on the computer again. However, since I need a computer with Windows to update my Garmin GPS, run an old and rare graphics program along with an old simple X Tetris game, I purchased a Dell Latitude 5530 with a i5 3210M @250Htz Intel processor, 120GB HD, and 8GB RAM running Windows 11 Pro that looks surprisingly new for a very reasonable price. Performed some M$ updates, updated three drivers from Dell, removed some software and features, added some different programs, and installed Open Shell for an older Start Key menu layout. Machine starts and shuts down fast, operates incredibly fast, draws little power and does not get warm. Best machine with Windows I have had to date. DCC is only one of two different businesses I trust to work on my computer when needed, and the computers they sell are set up and work well. When I noticed LibreOffice and VLC were installed I was impressed. What else can be said. They are in business to make money, value their consumers, and do not take advantage of them. I had a Chromebook that seemed to have a power problem and I was concerned about the need to replace the whole computer. I dropped in to see Phil at the Olathe location (Strang Line) and he was able to diagnose the problem with ease and I was headed back home happy with the result. I'll continue to be a customer at the Mission location, but had a very poor experience here. The owner was pushy, not helpful, and had her kid running around the store. It was a very unprofessional vibe. It was very loud in there and we left without questions being answered and didn't feel like we got the same help we were used to at the other location. read more

I am one of those guys who thinks he can do anything as long as you watch a youtube video of it. I own two computers. One a MacBook and the other a PC. When the macbook, which is nearly 9 years old started lagging and needed new ram, I bought it and install it myself. Now I wanted to up date the PC. While the MacBook was easy, the PC immediately crashed. It took 10 minutes to get to the operating system and then it couldn't find Windows 10. Had I screwed up my computer? I immediately thought of Geek Squad at Best buy. There was a store down the street and they were reputable right? A minimum of $85 + parts. So I found these guys on Yelp, free estimate yaay! I took it to their shop and the repair guy quietly listened to my story and then told me he would not repair my PC. I asked why. He said: "You obviously know how to install RAM. You bought some bad RAM, remove it and return it. Once you remove it, it should go back to it's old self." I went home and did it and lo and behold it started working fine again, new ram on order from Amazon. Direct Computer outlet could have charged me, but they were honest and upfront. This is service you don't get anymore, as everyone has to hit quota numbers now. If you have a PC and want an honest assessment, I suggest these guys. read more

Most importantly, when I had a problem with the unit I bought, they treated me like I try to treat my customers, with courtesy and patience. I took my HP laptop as it kept restarting constantly after some windows and game update. I kept there for almost week. They said they will replace hard drive as looks like that's the problem. Then they said looks like its memory problem. Finally they said it cant be fixed, may be mother board issue. They were pushing me to just give them laptop for recycle. I took laptop home, run HP diagnostics tools. No issue. Then I reinstalled Win 10 OS and laptop has been working great. I didn't have OS and didn't have to look into it. But they seem to just wanted the laptop free and also took $55 from me for diagnostic etc. I will never go there. They seems to get laptops free like this and sell in there store. read more

I found an ad on Craigslist for iPad repair. I didn't know what to expect, but after walking into their store I was pleasantly surprised at the organized layout of the store front. JC saved me from replacing my iPad which I am grateful for. It's a work tablet and I have already had to replace it once which didn't go over to well with my boss... Anyway they have several dozen laptops on display as well as a plethora of flat screen TVs. I'll be back to buy one of there Mac books soon!! read more
