Never trust this scam online company. They could not fix a simple motherboard costing over $500 for over 3 months. And their final shipment arrived defective. And now they blame me for this. We've had the repair shack out twice to our house. The first time they fixed our smooth top /glass cook top. They came out, diagnosed the issue and had it fixed the next week (had to order the part). The second time they came out to fix our freezer (needed a new gasket). The repairman ordered multiple parts just in case (only charged us for the one we needed) and we were back in husiness in no time. I love the scheduling, text message notifications. Add in consistently on time arrivals, and a smiling face and this is our new go to for appliance repair. Pricing is a tough high, but it's worth a few extra bucks for on time arrivals and wonderful customer service. read more

Zero isn't an option. American Home Shield (home warranty company) contracts with Repair Shack. My fridge wasn't producing a steady stream of water back in June. After three visits and numerous parts our fridge now doesn't make ice nor produce any water. Parts take weeks to order. Then the morning of an install they text to tell you the part isn't in. Interesting enough they told me a week ago the part would be there the next day. There's no sense of urgency. An absolutely painstaking process. Avoid working with this company at all costs. Repair Shaft with an attitude Not very happy with this company. Our home insurance uses the Repair Shack for warranty work, and our dish washer top rack was coming off of its mounting bracket. The bracket was broken, not the rack. With this insurance the rack is not covered but the hardware is to mount it. The tech comes out and throws the rack, upper nozzles (in the top rack) and mount in the trash. The rack $250+ with labor was out of pocket and took at least a month to arrive. My wife had to call them weekly just to remind them our dishwasher now did not work. Eventually, 4 weeks-ish the part comes in and it gets installed,and we finally get the bill for ~300 so I split it up into 4 payment. He freaking threatens to send me to collections for non-payment. Outstanding customer service. Great turn-around time and a great value for the dollar. I had an inoperable control board which was no longer being manufactured for our Kitchenaid double oven. Until I found The Repair Shack I feared we would have to replace the double oven and would be spending a LOT of $$$ to do it! In desperation I went on the Internet and found The Repair Shack and their offer to repair the board at what I believed was a VERY reasonable cost. The questions I sent to customer service were answered immediately and accurately. We had called Repair Shack because our heating element went out on our dryer. Repair Shack prioritized us and fix our dryer same day because we had a new born which we greatly appreciated. We had such a great experience the first time with Repair Shack, it was a no brained to call them to fix our ice maker on our fridge. They came right out, diagnosed the problem and let us know that the unit needed to be fully replaced which they would have to order and return and replace. Not even a week later the installer was back and replaced our ice maker. We've had zero issues since. We would recommend them to anyone who wants fast, affordable, honest service. read more

Horrible Experience. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Paid for shipping both ways; the repair fee; and still could not correct my issue. The "warranty they offer" does not pay for their errors or shipping; therefore I had to pay MORE SHIPPING COSTS. FAIL! Worst repair ever! AVOID these jokers at all cost. I don't even want the cost of the repair back, because I'm too DISGUSTED to deal with them anymore. I needed to fix the control board and touchscreen on my whirlpool oven. On their website, they indicate that they can make the fix and get it back to you within a week or two. So I sent in the parts on December 12. I didn't have the repair before Christmas. I didn't have the repair by mid January. I called around January 21 and they told me they would get right on it. A few days later they called back and told me I would have to send in two frame pieces from the appliance, because they needed to put it all together at the shop. I was reluctant to send the plastic parts in, because i could totally envision them breaking the pieces, which are themselves costly to replace. They returned the "repair" January 31. Roughly 1 1/2 months later. And OF COURSE they broke the plastic frame piece. BUT THAT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER BECAUSE THE ELECTRONIC REPAIR WAS A COMPLETE HACK JOB. One look at it out of the box and it was clear the thing probably would not work. 1.The ribbon cable was "soldered" on with a big black glob of glue. 2. The interior plastic frame harness for the control board was broken, so the unit could slide about one inch either way inside its frame. 3. The LED circuit was tilted backward inside of the control board. 4. There was an alligator clip still attached to connection prong. 5. The frame I sent them was broken in two places. I knew it wasn't going to work, but i hooked it up to try it and NOTHING. Didn't even carry a current. Now I'm out about $300, and have nothing to show for it. Just avoid them, there are other similar services out there, that must be able to do better than this! read more

I was one of the customers of the repair shack. I had oven broken control board. They claimed to fix it within 2 weeks. They couldn't fix it from the first time asking to send them control panel as well. After the second repair attempt control panel arrived damaged because it was dropped by their technician. Overall repair service extended to 3 months while they said it will be fixed within 2 weeks plus shipping. After 3 months of spending $100 extra for the shipping (they will not cover any shipping costs even they couldn't fix it) I got damaged control board that still was not fixed. I called their supervisor Brandon who turned out to be very aggressive person, he said "Don't even try to file a dispute because we will bring the charge to collection". I sent the board to corecentric solutions who fixed it within 2 weeks including shipping time. It only was $30 more expensive but the service was 5 stars against 1 star for repair shack. All previous negative reviews are the proof that this place is a nightmare service provider. Stay away! read more

I called the Repair Shack to fix my Bosch dishwasher. The first time they came out, the guy said, they didn't have the part but would come back as soon as possible. That was July 1. The second time he came out with the new part, was Sept. 3. The part that he replaced didn't work. He said it was the control board and they had to order it and it would be about 30 days. The third time they came out was Oct.7. They put in the control board and it appeared to be working. As I am a widow, I do not have many dishes to wash so I only used it about once a week or two weeks. Around November 9, the dishwasher wouldn't work. I called the Repair Shack and told the lady that answers the phone. She said someone would call me back. But they didn't. I had to call again and they said 'to bad' they only had a 30 day warranty. The repair man said it was 60 days but they wouldn't honor that. Now I am out $453.00 and no dishwasher! I think they took advantage of an old lady. Next week is Thanksgiving and my family is coming over. But NO dishwasher. Don't ever use this company again!! I have not heard from them since! read more

The owner , Brandon , is a rude, pompous, stubborn , man who refuses to take accountability for his employees breaking my Bosch dishwasher. After they fixed it I noticed the door wasn't closing correctly and I called to have Steven the original repairman come back to adjust it. They sent someone out and before I know it, four repairman are here trying to fix my now broken dishwasher. They said they don't know what happened but ordered a new main board. I've waited two weeks more to see if the part was in , which they said was, and I asked ok , when can they fix it? They now tell me they can't get the part for a 3 year old dishwasher and I need to get a replacement from AHS. The owner, Brandon has a horrible Temper and refuses to even listen to what I have to say. He now wants to take my dishwasher back to their place to do in depth diagnostic and is complaining about working for free on it for days and days. WTF is wrong with this company . They are committing FRAUD Plain and simple. Instead of fixing my dishwasher they put in for replacement so AHS will pay for it. Why am I being penalized for their ineptness,? When I questioned Brandon about this, he went all postal on me screaming , lecturing , complaining. This is outrageous and I'm reporting them because they are committing insurance fraud. Instead of putting in the effort to fix what they broke they pass the buck to AHS to foot the bill. Then, he tries to tell me they only put in for replacement because I was complaining after 3 weeks that I needed a dishwasher. He needs to get his story straight . Can it not be fixed? Are the parts really not available? Does he not want to " work on it for free for hours and hours and days and days?" Which is It? I was concerned that I was not going to have a functional double convection oven, even after The Repair Shack did the repair. But I figured it was not that expensive considering a new oven would cost thousands of dollars. I used the UPS Store to pack and ship, and stressed that the control board was irreplaceable. They assured me that it would arrive undamaged. They constructed a box very poorly, and as a result, the board was delivered to The Repair Shack broken and unrepairable. I was impressed by how they kept me informed, assisted with the UPS damage claim, and then tracked down a board and components to "Frankenstein" a replacement board. While this cost more, I felt very comfortable having them build a new board. The board was completed within days, shipped and works perfectly! We could not be happier! CUSTOMERS BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM THE REPAIR SHACK THERE SHOULD BE A ZERO STAR RATING I contacted "Brandon" at the Repair Shack to discuss repairing the control board on my oven. After a brief conversation and photographs sent to Brandon, the control board was sent to the Repair Shack to be repaired. A couple of weeks went by and an e mail was received stating the board could not be fixed and would be returned to me. Upon receiving the board, I noticed that the board received was not my board, but in fact one belonging to another unit. Contacting "Brandon" explaining the problem, I was greeted with profanity, anger and abuse. Brandon was going to hold my board hostage until I returned the incorrect board sent to him. Brandon stated he did not know where my board was and it was up to me to make contact with his other clients who may or may not have my control board. How should it be the customers responsibility to locate my control board that Brandon sent to someone else?? Brandon's profanity and verbal abuse continued with the 3 phone calls received from him. Had a Dacor 2 bay oven go bad. E-mailed them about my control panel. Quote was for $120.00 Sent in the control board and key pad. Chris, their great technician (and all around nice guy) called me back, and asked a few questions. He told me to send in the 2 relay boards. A few days later, the panel and boards arrived, and were like new, worked perfectly, and very clean. All three and all for $120.00! I thought it would be extra, like being ripped off. Nope, these people are just the best, can't say enough! The customer service lady was exceptional, answered very fast and no real long "on hold". My Dacor over is working great. A big thank you to the repair shack, and especially, Chris! And their on hold message is just great also! I wish I could leave a ZERO star review. When I called a discussed the repair of my oven board I was told they would have it turned around in 3-5 business days... Well over three weeks later and after several inquires, each time being told that they are running behind and will be starting on my board soon, I get told that my board is not repairable. Oh, and by the way, they are going to keep half of what I paid them for this awesome service. I was offered a replacement for an additional $225, so it would cost $325 to get a working unit. After this I just told them to return my board. I purchased one from another online store for $211.87, should have done this in the first place.... I would avoid using them if I were you. read more

I am SO happy with the repair service that I received from The Repair Shack Inc in Olathe Kansas for my dryer's drum that would not spin. The Repair Shack Inc kept in contact with me via text messages and email. After waiting very few days for a pulley part to arrive, I received a text with my appointment day and time. When the repair day arrived, I received another text message and an email that Garrett was on the way. There was even a link to track his arrival! Indeed two technicians arrived, Garrett and Garett, and they were both so professional and so nice!!! I showed them where my dryer was, and they saw what the problem was. I was told it would typically take approximately an hour to repair my dryer, and they finished repairing it even sooner. When they came back upstairs, they even showed me a video of the dryer working. It is so great to have my dryer working again! Thank you SO very much!!! read more

We are a service company in North Carolina who used this particular company based off their eBay review. We had a customer who had a older model oven that needed to be repaired and I did not want to get rid of it so we sent the board off to have it fixed we knew beforehand reading their preview of the description that there would be a $75 minimum diagnostic fee if it worse they could not fix the board. After a week and a half goes by which is well over the time frame they gave never heard nothing so the following day we contacted them a day later they contacted us said call them we called no answer they called and it rang two times and hung up when called back no answer. After this cat-and-mouse game for nearly a week it was finally reached bye us and one of the technician said if their location that the board could it be fixed or whatever malfunction they found they couldn't get the part or the park cost too much or whatever the case was at the time they could not fix it. So they tell us that they had another board there that they could sell us at a certain price and it was a good board. I here's the thing with shipping we have already gave them over $130 and the other board it was mentioned was nearly the same price so if you do the math on that that comes out to be a lot more than what we were willing to pay and the boss man here started saying it sounded like a scam. so I got on eBay and let them know that I didn't appreciate how the business was being conducted and it needed to be done differently can a refund needed to be made well I got told that I was not the person who made the order which by far is a load of bull wash because it's my account and my credit card that paid! so they tell me that they had to hear it from the owner of the business himself so he calls them and once again they try to get him to have a board that they have in stock sent and they play the sympathy role of all the customer be so happy because the board we have will get them going and everything will work out in the end. Well I'm sad to tell you it did not we have knots to this point we received the refund of the amount minus the $75 diagnostic fee I was told that I was a nobody to them and I needed to stop "making threats" my threat if anything was to report them to PayPal and eBay if they didn't make the refund so if that's what that is that I'm guilty as charged! But they wasted so much time knowing what they were doing because I talked to another person who had this issue with them from eBay and they did the same thing to them they wasted so much time that by the time you try to make a case against them the 60-day time frame has come and went and that's exactly what happened here once that day frame hit that's when I got told contact eBay stop making threats and stop writing us! So buyer beware customer beware and everyone reading yes no even though I'm writing this long message it goes to show that even though it is long I'm giving you the entire story. We ended up getting a good board from a dealer outside of our state for pennies on the dollar compared to what they were trying to sell us from their stockpile of boards. If this does not sound like a scandal scheming way of making money online and I don't know what is. And if you read any response to this post that goes beyond saying " for were sorry entire matter the partial refund has been done"t you're reading a bunch of hogwash and I would just move on because that's all that needs to be done nothing else to be said and if it is done then I'll come back here and post a update that the problem has been solved. read more

I have to agree with a few previous reviews which mentioned being charged an additional $20 for "additional uncommon components" - a note of apology, after returning the "repaired" boards to me, for not having powered the board to see if it worked! They had said the transformer primary and secondary tested with continuity, which likely means it is good. Then, after I returned it to them, saying power is going to the board but nothing coming out, they said, "...Unfortunately, the transformer on the power supply board has suffered too much damage due to corrosion of other components. The transformer is a proprietary part, specific to the manufacturer. We apologize that we could not repair this as we take great pride in our ability and never like to send this email." I understand things happen, but usually the customer doesn't have to pay a lot for absolutely nothing! The price of this "repair" on Ebay was advertised at (99.99+14.99) +20+20=~$155 and my refund was $50 - I lost ~$100 and a lot of my time. I had a 20 year old stretch wrapping machine that the PLC board went out on. I order one though the manufacture and after 6 weeks of waiting it didn't work. After another week they called and advised me they didn't have a schematic for that machine. I sent them mine. Waited another 3 weeks to receive another one that didn't work. So while waiting for the manufacture to figure out what to do, I sent my old board to The Rack Shack. They checked it out and called to get the schematic for the machine. Then they called to say the parts were obsolete, but they could order them from China. But after about a week their supplier said they couldn't get them. They called and said they could try to find a relay that would work if I wanted to continue on. Which they did. Even though it took 2 months for them to get my board back to me and working, I'm very happy with the whole process. they were very friendly and keep me updated constantly. Oh, it took the manufacture 6 1/2 months to get me a working board and at 5 times the cost. But now I have one on the self. Thank you again for all your effort. This place saved my sanity! I live in California, Southern California that is.....yeah, I know.....can't wait to vacate....but until then.....I have a Whirlpool double oven. The control board went out and according to Whirlpool the unit is not faulty....according to internet posts....it sure is!!!!....Apparently if you use the self clean function...it will fry your board, maybe not the first time...but sooner or later. I was at my wits end....a new part, because they are discontinued costs about $350. A new oven....well upwards of $1400....remove the board/panel yourself,,,,send it to The Repair Shack, pay about $150 to send it, have it repaired and sent back....totally worth it! They were right on in regards to their time line...received it, updated the status, called me when it was done, explained the repair, shipped it back. I put the board/panel back in......works amazing! Definitely 5 stars....would give 10 if I could...and I am a very hard to please customer. read more

As a younger person who just got out of school not long ago, I can't afford to buy brand new appliances. My oven went out and I was unable to cook for 2 weeks.. until I found The Repair Shack. At first I was a little weary that it was a scam, as it almost seemed too good to be true. I noticed they were local and decided to come in to get a first person experience. When I arrived, I was instantly greeted by a lovely young lady who was very eager to help me. Instead of having to spend 1000 + dollars on a new appliance, I paid about 115 and they completely fixed my issue. Not only did they repair my part, but they also replaced a lot of components on my board to make it last even longer. The ONLY reason it's not a 5 star from me is because the young lady helping me would not let me take her on a date. Other than that (Lol), this place is great at what they do. The staff was very knowledgeable and I received outstanding customer service, from the receptionist, to the technicians, even the boss himself came out to speak with me. Do not get your oven control board repaired by The Repair Shack. I have an LG oven that was giving me a fault code every couple of months so I decided to send the control board to The Repair Shack. I prepaid for their control board repair package and I was thinking I made a good choice. I was wrong. They took about a week and then told me that I need to pay more because they want to replace some additional parts. They also told me they don't have them in stock and it would take a few days to order them. When I voiced my concern for them needing more money and more time to fix my control board then originally discussed, I received an unfriendly tone from the gentleman working there. Like really? more money and more time and you don't expect me to at least question why? long story short I reinstalled control board in my oven and the problem came back a month later and was actually more frequently occurring. They wanted me to send the board back to be repaired again, but I had all I could handle from these amateurs. If I were anyone out there looking for a control board replacement I would purchase a brand new one online or call a professional service tech in your area. read more

I ordered a refurbished Dell laptop on-line from The Repair Shack for a very reasonable price. It was supposed to have Office on it but when it arrived I noticed it wasn't installed. I contacted them and they quickly responded with an apology and suggested that instead of going through the inconvenience of shipping it back it could be done remotely. I corresponded with Brandon, who is the owner. He connected remotely and got every thing installed. I also thought it was running a bit sluggish, so not only did he install Office, he went in and changed some settings and cleaned up the machine and added some additional software I had requested from the internet, which I could have done but he gladly agreed to do it for me. He spent probably most of his morning and some of the afternoon making sure everything was working properly. I have to say, Brandon was great. I work in the IT/computer/POS industry and work with vendors all the time. Brandon was prompt, courteous and went above and beyond to make sure I was a satisfied customer!
