What a service! I stop by as I tried to change a part of my iphone myself as it wasn't charging at all times. Apparently I did but not really. I changed it(required a lot of patience) but when I was done the phone wouldn't charge anymore. Freaking out at this point. Went to direct repair and I was asked to have a seat while the guy(dont remember his name ) was checking for the problem. Long story already he didn't charge me a penny. Customer service at the best. Quick, friendly service. Had a new iPhone screen in less than 20 minutes. They will let you choose a new color for your iPhone screen before they fix it. Highly recommend! With their Yelp coupon, I only paid $70 for an iPhone 4 screen replacement. Way lower than the $150-200 Apple charges! read more

Dropped my iPhone 4s over the weekend and shattered the front side of my phone. Went to the apple store and was informed that I had to spend $199 to replace the phone. So i did some research and found Direct Repair online and went in there today. I walked out of there 20 minutes afterwards after spending $75 holding a phone that looked like it was brand new!! Would definitely recommend this place. Came here to get my iPhone screen replaced which was totally shattered. The guy told me it would be about 20 mins to repair my phone. So about 5-7 mins later he called me over(I thought it was to put in my password or something) but the phone was done and working perfectly. Looks like a brand new phone. Plus they give a 90 day warranty on there service. Smooth and fast service. Plus they have a couple of custom shells you can buy. Price was also descent plus there's a yelp coupon you can buy. I rarely write these reviews, but when I get a really good or really bad one I have to share. Direct Repairs customer service is top notch! I had my screen fixed here a couple months ago and they were friendly and speedy. This AM the screen popped off and I was going crazy because I was out running errands and I was on call for my job. They could call me any minute. I cabbed it to Direct Repair and they needed my receipt. I obviously didn't have it with me and when I told Uti (sp?) the predicament I was in with being on call he fixed my phone in less than 10 minutes, free of charge. His service was impeccible! read more

This place is great. I walked in randomly and asked if they took walk-in's, which they did, and told me they would have my iPhone 5s screen repaired and my phone ready for me in the next 30 min. I came back after grabbing a coffee down the street and it was ready to go. They do great work and they do it quickly. They also give a warranty with every job they do, which is comforting. Excellent service provided: i took my ipad air there with a shattered glass and had it fixed an hour after. The only issue was that at first someone told me that it would $130 for the repair. I was not expecting such high price after reading all reviews but didnt comment about it. When I returned to pick up my ipad another person told that it would be $80 ALL (including the yelp discount). Maybe it was my mistake not to ask the first time, it just didnt feel good on the first impression. Apart from this isolated "detail" I left the store happy with my ipad (like new again) and I would return for sure. read more

My nexus 5 phone broke as the internal memory card got corrupted. I needed a diagnostics letter mentioning the problem with the phone for insurance claim. They were very helpful and provided me a detailed letter. They are very friendly and their service is excellent. read more

They were able to replace a phone speaker adequately. This is a clean establishment that does what they say they can. I would say do your homework before you come and they may want to give quotes to customers before taking your product in the back. Besides that, this is a sufficient business and I would recommend their repairs if you're looking to a professional to troubleshoot your mobile. They're also working w/ Groupon so there are opportunities for savings. read more

Direct REPAIR saved me!! I just purchases an iphone 4s and drop it and totally jacked my screen. I was so devastated especially since I just purchased it 4 days prior. I took it to at&t and they basically told me I would have to call my insurance and pay the same price i just paid a week ago for it. NOT COOL!! So i went on yelp and found this gem close to my job. I went it took 30 mins and my phone is now pink. Fro reasons that i wouldn't want to explain, i kind of broke the screen to my brothers Iphone 5. After much Yelping,(not sure if that's a word) i came across the page for Direct Repair and decided to give it a shot. After bugging my sister for a ride and spending 40 minutes in traffic i finally arrived at the place and let me tell you i was glad i made the trip over here. Had couple issues with my iphone 6+, screen of course was broken and had charging issue. Before going to apple I decided to give these guys a shot since they are close to where I live. While being skeptical about getting my device fixed somewhere besides apple, the price for the repairs was unbeatable. They said they need about an hour to fix issues, I decided to go on lunch and come back. I was gone for about 45 min, when I came back the phone was ready to go. These folks are awesome. I'm not a full idiot, but I somehow put my windows PC into safe mode. Despite an hour or two of research online, I couldn't for the life of me boot my computer other than in safe mode. I was worried that my PC was ded to me forever, what an expensive and stupid mistake. I dropped my desktop off with a brief description just before they closed on a Friday, I got a call back the next day that we were all set. Turn around and communication could have been a little quicker, but they were nice enough to charge me $0 for getting me out of safe mode. I was planning to visit Chicago and I had the glass of my ipod broken few days before. I found out about Direct repair after a Google search, redirecting me to Yelp. I called the day before and I was told to step by any time the next day and that they would have accepted the Yelp voucher. So, I became member of Yelp, purchased a voucher online and as soon as I got off the plane in Chicago I went to the shop, I left the ipod; I went shopping for 50 minutes and I went back. I brought my computer to Direct Repair when it was turning on but the screen remained blank and it wouldn't boot up. The man who helped me was very efficient and professional and quickly determined that it was an issue with the hard drive. After testing the computer with a different hard drive seeing that the computer was working, he tested my hard drive again and for whatever reason it was working again as if nothing was ever wrong before. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The guys here are nice and best of all they do their job well. I went in with my Mac book because Apple wanted to charge me $755. I payed $150 here, not including the deal which I didn't utilize. It did malfunction but they are awesome and include a 90 day warranty with every repair. I had it back in a couple of days fully functioning. I also brought an iPod in which they fixed within a couple of hours. If you are shopping around for a good deal go to direct repair. Went in there today to have a broken iphone screen repaired. Staff said to come back in 30 min. When I returned later the very kind employee said that the issues were not just with the screen, but if I gave him a few more minutes he would try and figure out the exact issue. After finishing, he said he would recommend not replacing the screen and taking it in to see if I have an upgrade or insurance first. He denied payment even for his time. Big big thanks to you guys! I am from Ukraine and been here in Chicago for a few weeks and got my iphone 4 with improperly reinstalled screen. https://gmart.com.ua/parts/displeynyy-modul-iphone-4-chernyy.html - this one i installed by myself and only a month later terrible problems with colours appeared - like the screen had been going away into the fog. I took my iPhone 4S here today, based off all the great reviews. Apparently, I cracked the screen under the top screen...my phone had funny lines running down the side, but the top screen was still intact. Anyway, they fixed it in 45 minutes and it looks brand new. They charged me $60 instead of $75, when I mentioned Yelp. i was visiting chicago and dropped my iphone after i got out of the taxi. having a broken iphone in a different city was not a good thing. however, i was lucky to find a cell phone repair shop near by. i had a broken iphone screen and they were able to fix it in 15mins!!!! Super friendly and super fast. i would recommend this place to any one in chicago!. they do all kinds of repairs....htc samsung blackberry. Amazing! Came in with an issue with an iPhone after the Apple store told me my only option was to replace the phone ($$$). The gentlemen at the store took a look at it and within an hour determined the issue and had it fixed for $35 (discounted with the yelp deal). This was definitely cheaper than the option Apple gave me and cheaper than the other stores I looked at. Excellent Services, Straightforward pricing, great deal! I came in for a repair to the case of an old laptop today. They spent extra time finding the best and most cost effective fix. While I was there I saw two other customers come in and pick up their phone repairs and I saw the repaired phones. They both looked first rate and the prices paid were fair. It's great to have a storefront in such a convenient place (near Rush & Division) with lots of public transportation nearby. Worth a trip. read more

Direct Repair provided a solid experience when I needed my phone screen fixed. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made the process a lot smoother. The guys at Direct Repair are awesome! The screen replacement took them less than 30 minutes for my iphone 4s. Very professional and courteous guys. I would recommend them to anyone in the area. The only thing I noticed is the small shade on the background while switching between the tabs in Safari, but once on the page everything looks good and clear. read more

Impressive fast service: I went in for a ipad 2 screen replacement and was told it would take two hours, but they called me in about one hour, and told me that the item was ready for picked up. They waited for me to test things out before they charged me. And the $35 for $50 coupon makes it even sweeter. Great place for i-repairs! read more

Absolutely LOVE this place. I have gotten my screen replaced there twice and even brought my boss' ipod in to have the glass replaced. They are quick, cheap, and care-free. Great service, very friendly, quick and helpful! I was in and out in about a half hour. I also recommend buying a screen protector for them. They'll put it on for you and they do a great job...no bubbles! They also include a 90 day warranty so if you have any issues with the screen within 90 days they'll repair free of charge! read more

The service was outstanding. They fixed the front and back screen and the home button on my iPhone 4 for only $100. The repairs only took 30 min. And I was able to enjoy a meal at chipotle next door while I waited. My phone looks brand new and works great. The guys there are good people and run a great business. read more

They were pleasant and professional and we exchanged a bit of humor over the phone and in person. Unfortunately, just two weeks later, a noticeable black blob appeared on the new screen near the Dynamic Island. This looks like OLED screen bleed or a defect. The phone has remained in a case with a screen protector the entire time and has not been dropped, bumped, or otherwise mishandled. Given the timing (only 2 weeks after installation) and the specific location of the spot, this issue is almost certainly the result of either a defective replacement screen or a problem during installation (such as trapped dust, adhesive, or pressure damage). It is not consistent with normal use or accidental damage. I offered to bring the phone in so they could inspect it in person, but they declined and immediately dismissed the warranty claim without examination. While I understand repairs aren't perfect, I'm disappointed they are unwilling to stand behind their work and honor the warranty on what is clearly a post-repair defect. I went from a satisfied customer who would have returned and recommended them to someone who can no longer do so. Potential customers should be aware that warranty support may not be reliable here. EDIT: Contrary to the response below the phone was never physically inspected. Rather, the response was based on a set of photos sent showing the issue which, alone, would be virtually impossible to come to a conclusion of physical damage versus defective product. As a customer, you are in a no win situation here as no matter what happens they are going to blame you and not the manufacturer or installation for the problem.
