We moved then called them to reconnect and were told that the price will go up and now I have to pay $10 if we don't want it removed from our bank autopay. I originally had Direct TV installed. However, the service did not work due to Frontier. I cancelled both. Specifically Direct TV in October. I returned their system and have the paper work to prove it. They continued to charge my Mastercard for November, December, and January. I have called numerous times about these charges. I have a problem with the volume not working right for the past 2-3 weeks. I have called Directv 3 times and did a chat once. At first Direct TV seemed ok. When I switched to a cheaper cable company and paid the early termination fee being I was in a 2year contrac. I needed an itemized bill showing that I paid the early termination fee. I looked on my on line account and it wasn't their. I called them several times about it and they said it was there, but it wasn't and I told them this. I told them I would like a final itemized bill sent to my address or email me one. I was told they could not do that. I lost $107.00 reimbursement I was supposed get from the new cable company I went to because or their poor business tactics of not giving me what I needed. I guess I should have stopped the auto pay before I counseled and then they probably would have sent me an itemized bill then pay what I owed on the early termination fee. Company continued to debit my bank account 198.00 for 5 months after service was cancelled. When I realized this and called them to inform them of this error I was basically told "tough luck" and they will not be doing anything to refund this money. To treat a loyal customer - never late with a payment- in this manner makes no sense to me. DO NOT, under any circumstances, use "DIRECT TV" as your provider for TV service! Their customer service is NON EXISTANT! Background, for this review. Recently (within the last 3 months) we were very dissatisfied with our then Internet/phone/TV service provider, mostly because it was getting TOO expensive to keep. A very nice young representative from Frontier/Direct TV called on us, "pitching" Frontier internet/phone service & DIRECR TV (wireless, internet connected). He sat around the kitchen table, extolling the excellent internet service & great customer service of Frontier & Direct TV. ALL lies! We gave him (and Frontier & Direct TV) permission to change to them for our "providers". After changing everything, the FUN began. Frontier was the lesser of two evils; only had phone issues (still having them, but should be rectified within the week. Direct TV does NOT have a "dish"; it is all internet based. There is a device (which is powered by plugging in an electrical outlet), called a "GENI" it plugs in to the HMDI socket in the back of the tv; it communicates with your Wi-Fi source (mine is about 20' away, with NO walls to go thru). After it "finds" the connection, the real fun begins. I am 89 years old and a little technology challenged; so trying to use "AI" virtual assistant is NOT a good match. DIRECT TV is possibly the WORST TV provider in the United States of America! Others told me that before; I thought, nah, that can't be right. IT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In order to "use" Direct TV, you must create a "user" profile, to be used EVERYTIME the system goes down, (which it did frequently). It requires typing in user name, password, and a list of other requirements. Direct DOES NOT HAVE "customer service" people. You call in on their "chat" line and get an "AI" virtual assistant; after answering many questions, you are turned over to a LIVE person, who tells you to go to their web site to get the answer you are looking for. The first time I called, to get a replacement "geni" (their wireless connector to your internet). While watching TV, the signal gets lost, the TV starts looking for an internet connection. IF you are lucky, it finds one in 30 seconds; otherwise; it shuts down, and you must sign in again using user/password. I called in today to CANCEL Direct TV, due to their LOUSY service: I go the AI virtual assistant that informed me IF I continued to cancellation, I was liable for a $420 charge for terminating my service early. Talk about incompetent customer service, this is it! My wife attempted to turn in our DirecTV equipment when we sold our home but a male customer service representative convinced her to keep it and put our account in the "vacation mode" as we might still have service within the other state we relocated to. Well, we did not and this customer service agent did not input the data correctly, so we received two additional monthly charges of over $210 per month for nothing. When my wife contacted customer service a second time, she was given the excuse that was the initial customer service representative's error and she could do nothing to remedy the situation. Well, I contacted DirecTV and asked to speak with a human being, after much around and around, they claimed they understood my frustration but I still owe them monies for service I did not possess over the past two months. I have had Direct TV for years ( no issues ). I Had all my Direct TV equipment upgraded when I purchased Smart TV's. Since than ( 7 months ) I have a one minute delay ( black screen ) when I change channels. Direct TV has changed out my Tower 5 times and reset my system numerous times, no luck. How I did I get conned into DIRECTV? I was OK with this a little too expensive but they promised me direct. It included a box that has Netflix on it and I did not get that upon and installation. He continues to promise me what he said, but nobody has fulfilled his promises. Sky was also very pleasant. Then there was a girl that was not pleasant and so other people that were not pleasant. NEVER purchase AT&T TV service. I ordered new fiber cable service from AT&T on September 4th. I checked my Internet service the morning, September 5, there was no service. AT&T disconnected the service without my knowledge. It is now September 19 and I have no Internet or TV and I am trying to run a business from my home. I have been told by my insurance company and a roofer that there is a cable strung across the roof that represents a safety hazard. Apparently this was done when Directv installed the satellite dish. They tell me that the cable needs to be installed in the "normal" way - not across the roof and that the turbine it's attached to may need to be replaced. Directv tells me that they can't do anything about this unless I pay for it. I told them that I should have to pay for this since Directv caused this problem. Today I was on the phone with Customer Service (CS) for over three hours with no satisfactory end. I escalated to 2-3 supervisors to no avail. All they want to do is get you off the phone. I talked to some 6-7 people and had to explain my need each time. When a supervisor called, she left a general number which meant I had to repeat again. I tried filing an executive complaint starting with the CEO but could not locate an email. I sent him a LinedIn but don't know if I will hear anything. Relocated from one condo unit to another in same building. Had to move out of the previous unit in June 2019. Bought a condo in the same building and did a full renovation taking it down to the studs. Did not move into the new condo until March 30, 2020. Continued to pay for DirecTV service the whole time because it was too complicated for DirecTV to manage the account equipment. In August of 2019 I had DirecTV come out to put the dish for the new unit up and run the coaxial cable to my unit. Several technicians were unable to get the coaxial cable to the unit and so I paid someone else to get the coaxial cable into my unit. AT&T/DirecTV billed me $200 in August 2019 presumably for a dish installation although there was no coaxial cable run between the dish and my condo unit. I requested a technician to finish the installation which was set up on March 30, 2020. There was no charge for this appointment and the technician came out and quickly had my service up and running. Then the technician told me that he wasn't going to get paid as much with the kind of service order that I had and he asked me if I would be willing to let him call AT&T/DirecTV and put in a different kind of service call. He explained that there would be an initial charge of $200 (Presumably the same charge that was billed in August of 2019) on my bill but it would easily be removed. He then called into AT&T/DirecTV pretending to be me and placing the new order. Later, I was notified that the charge could not and would not be removed. After spending way too much time on the phone, "the back office" has decided that the charge is appropriate. How can another person, let alone an AT&T/DirecTV contractor, falsely portray themselves to be a customer and put unauthorized charges on that customers bill? I should not have agreed to let the technician make the call but the facts are that a designated AT&T contractor explained what would happen and it did not happen the way it was explained. I have all the backup that shows clearly the fraud. The charge in August 2019. The same charge again in March 2020. With respect to the service call on March 30, 2020, my original order Activity Number 1-375J0GS8 showing that the technician arrived at my home at 10:40am on March 30,2020 and my acceptance signature was captured on March 30, 2020 at 11:05 am -25 minutes later. Then, I have another Activity Report 1-375YDJ9D that says that the technician arrived at my home at 12:52 pm on March 30, 2020. This Activity Report says that my acceptance signature was captured on March 30, 2020 at 11:53am - before the technician supposedly even arrived! read more

It's great for exercise because you are constantly having to restart it and sometimes the modem itself to lose the "Your video is still loading" message while watching network TV! I installed an antenna just so I could watch PBS or network television while my Direct TV is trying to figure out how to work! BTW. Don't DirecTV First of all it does this weird blinking thing when you switch channels where everything blanks out for a couple of seconds. Then if it rains too hard, the picture pixels or you totally lose signal. Also, trying to find the latest movie lineup is not easy and the selection is poor. Lastly, when I called for help with our plan, I was on chat and the phone for over two hours while they thanked me for my patience but never resolved my problem. I've been a customer with DIRECTV for over 16 years. I became a customer of DIRECTV after switching from Dish Network, at the time that I switched to DIRECTV it was the better option and provided superior service. After AT&T's purchase of DIRECTV the customer service has been horrendous to the point that even during my cancellation I was not told that I had the opportunity to schedule a cancellation date. When I called to cancel I was under the impression that I was canceling that day but they let the account run to the end date of the billing. In order to charge me more money and to not allow me to recoup any money or have less money refunded to me. Didn't matter where I lived, Texas, California, etc...same great service. Since AT&T took over...now when you call Customer Service, all they want to do is sell Sell SELL! Then since you do not know this or are told this you call and ask where your card is and they tell you 4-7 weeks, so you wait. Then you call and at this point the time to claim your card has expired! AWFUL customer service. Ever since they merged with att it is a nightmare getting anything done. They transfer you and make you tell the same story to four people before you get someone and then they screw you. ATT says it directv's fault and directv blames it on ATT. I have cell phones with att for 17 years, directv, and U-verse internet. I move and my new house can't get u-verse Internet so I have to cancel. They say they have to send a tech out to verify I can't get it. I wait all day, he verifies it, all good. Lady tells me no early termination fee. They also messed up my u-verse bill. They tell me i get a $90 credit. Then a month later I get a credit card charge for $140 instead of my $90 credit so they really billed me $230. I call and they tell me it's for early termination. Talk to 3 more people and no one will waive it. Early termination is $130 so I ask why I was charged $230. They tell me they can't see my whole bill so they have no idea. Directv transfers me to ATT. ATT tells me they can't see my whole bill so they don't know either. No one knows why I was charged all this money but neither will credit it back either. WTF!!! I have always bragged about ATT and Directv and encouraged everyone to go with them but I have never dealt with such a disorganized bunch of people with absolutely no customer service skills. Keep asking for a supervisor and said none was available, after 4 th call they said a Supervisor would call me back, 5 days later no call. Finally got sent to retention department, another great experience for a dispute of $19.95 when I said I would look for another provider, I was told if I wanted to pay the disconnect fee that was my choice and transferred me to another department that had nothing to due with my issue.
