Terrible Reliability and Service after only 6 Days - Signed up for Service on the morning of March 13th had to wait 4 days for install Appointment on March 17th - On March 23rd (6 Days) the Internet Service went dead due to a Frontier Port Issue (their fault) - Was told to wait (2-3 days) to have a technician come out to fix the Frontier Port Problem - Also, their setup fees of $149 are unreasonable, they also charge you for your own Router $10. I was told by the Install Technician that Frontier will not wave the $10 per month router fee even if you have your own equipment. read more

This review is for Frontier in the Garland, TX, area....Select another service provider, if there is one available. Unfortunately for us, the only service provider for our apartment is Frontier and they are crap. When I signed up for service with the rep for our apartment, I did not ask for any extra services like an internet "security" service I didn't need; nor did I ask for their router; nor did I ask for HBO Now. When I realized these extra services were tacked on "free" I called their customer service and had them remove them from my account as I didn't need them and wouldn't use them. I still got billed for the HBO Now, even after calling them twice and telling them to remove it and that I would never use it. When the service was connected to my apartment, I asked the installer about the router...I told him I had my own and wouldn't need theirs. He tells me its already included in my service fee and I wasn't going to be charged extra for it. Yeah. OK. That's why a monthly $10 router fee is permanently listed on my bill, even after repeated calls to Frontier about removing it. They said I signed a contract that required it (I specifically didn't sign up for a contract plan as we aren't sure how long we would stay in this apartment, so I'm not sure what annual contract they are talking about). And tonight (09-25-2018), I paid the bill online using my credit card. The due date on the bill is 09-25-2018. However, the confirmation number date from the receipt I received says 09-26-2018. How much you want to bet they are going to charge me a late fee next month? This company is crap and shady. They're going to nickel and dime you to death at any opportunity. If I had a choice of service providers, Frontier wouldn't be in the top 50. read more

I got ready to move in November and called Verizon to set up internet at my new rent house. Oh how excited I was to finally be 100% done with AT&T everything. I went from paying $55 a month for a landline phone (that was only used for my alarm system... because Time Warner's phones were not compatible) and $127 a month for cable and internet through Time Warner..... to.... $128 TOTAL for all three services. I love it when you move and things get cheaper. I love my Verizon Fios! The internet is crazy fast. The FIOS TV system is great, it never cuts off shows in the middle of a recording like TWC DVR did. You can control, schedule & delete stuff off of your DVR from any internet connection. While, again, my home phone is mainly for my alarm system, the few times I have actually called someone on it the sound has been great. I'll probably be moving again come the end of November {this rent house has serious foundation issues that are getting worse as the days go buy}... but being in a Verizon FIOS service will be one of my requirements for my next residence. read more

Verizon FiOS was amazing. Expensive, but stable. Frontier communications, the company that has bought out Verizon Fios, is one of the single most incompetent companies I've dealt with next to American Airlines. They deserve each other. Oh do they ever. We have had FiOS since it was first offered. Our neighborhood was the first in the nation to have fiber optic networks installed. Nothing went wrong until Frontier bought them out and we have had nothing but problems since. I have been on the phone for over a month. I have held my anger and been kind. They have been nice, with one exception (reported him for rude behavior, a real jerk wad). Even though the people on the front end are nice, nothing gets done except error after error. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. This all started after frontier took over and I called to have ONLY the landline discontinued. That has resulted in so many errors, trips of people to our house, missed appointments (by them), they show up on days we are not home and did not agree to, they do not know what is wrong, claim it is the network, then it is the box in the garage, then it is a customer service issue, then it is a technical issue, and so forth. You should have seen the poor guy who came to our house, the first serviceman visit. He was truly lost. He showed me his phone and has been on hold at that point for over 45 minutes for him to get help with his prior customer. That is not acceptable. He couldn't get help for us, and stated it was a technical support problem that I had to call in for help with. Get that clearly folks, this technical support person in our house had no idea and finally told us to call a number that he himself, when he left, STILL hadn't had respond to him. Bizarre. You have no idea of the circus of problems that was caused when they forced a reload onto our boxes and all the resulting problems. Just terrible. We set up appointments, they don't come. They come on days we aren't home and didn't agree to. They argue (yes, literally) that we were supposed to be home on x and x day. We are NEVER home that day, we would never schedule an appointment on that day. They say they will lower the bill by $40 if they do this and that. The next month, our bill almost tripled. Nearly tripled. Seriously. Really? They offered to reduce the bill, then screw it up royally. We're not talking new levels of technology and ideas here people, we're talking about the ability to manage your own equipment, set up a schedule, keep a schedule, and bill correctly. These are not new concepts. **sigh** I have few companies that I think are truly incompetent to the core. Frontier Communications is one of them. read more

When the sell of FIOS to Frontier was announced last year, I knew it would be a bad idea if Frontier had to touch the network. My fears have come to life and as expected Frontier is way over their heads to handle a network like FIOS. Throw in a Verizon union strike (active demonstrations on the east coast and slow cooperation throughout the nation) during a migration, things aren't going to go well. Internet went out 4/11/16 now being told I can't get a tech until 4/19/16. Was initially told to wait all day for a tech on 4/14/16 but no one showed. I have no confidence in Frontier. This company sucks. Mid priced internet is slow. You sign a 2 year contract and for 3 months in a row cannot get their billing right. I had to remove the automatic payment from them. Than I have to waste my time on the phone with rude customer service personnel that you can't understand. I'm about to change my service to Time Warner. I've told them this the last 2 months. And to you who are paying for their modems, save your money. You can buy a good modem, unplug theirs overnight, plug yours in and change the IP Address to 192.168.2.1 as they use this address instead of 192.168.1.1. As you are probably paying for slow outdated junk. You also know if they try to raise your rates mid contract you can the switch without paying a termination fee as they are breaking the contract by increasing your rates. read more

I have Verizon for my Cable and Internet service. Good, solid service - I've never had any issues. My internet is fast and my cable is always there, and the picture quality is great. When I moved in my apartment, my equipment was there, ready to go. The setup instructions were idiot proof; I had my service up in running within 30 minutes. I've had one of their competitors since I've been in DFW (whose initials are Totally Wretched) and they blow Totally Wretched out of the water. If they are available in your area and you're looking for a new cable/internet provider, give them a shot! read more

In 30 years in the IT industry this is the single worst entity that we've ever dealt with by a land-slide. If I could give Verizon Fios 0 stars I would. I recently moved to the Bay Area and am told Verizon doesn't cover my particular area at this time. So, instead of waiving or reducing the cancellation fee, I'm being billed $180. I'm told that only upon DEATH will this fee be removed. Glad to see loyalty really pays off. New installation review Internet was suppose to be set up between 10 and 12 two days after call in. A day before they called to Verify everything was still good to go. We rechecked the information, everything matched. Installation day At 11:00 we called just to make sure they had not gotten lost. They guy pulled up our information and said "he should be there soon he is in route." 11:55 still no sign of them, called them back, guy that picked up said we were not on the system and hanged up. 12:00 Called again and the guy said we were not schedule for a visit. After a big discussion they magically found our schedule and said he should be there any minute. 4:00 Guy finally arrived, he started connecting the modem with out even asking us were we wanted it and kept talking bad about us with out knowing I knew whay language he was talking in to his friend on the phone read more

My overall experience isn't that bad, WIFI went out and had to call. The representative could've done a better job, in explaining what she was doing. Apparently Verizon wifi boxes are different from what frontier has to offer. Over all i think if you specifically communicate your issue they will help you. Yes it's frustrating what we are encountering. However I feel if you just tell the person on the phone to have some dialogue, it can go a long way. They are willing to help. read more

Verizon FIOS is now Frontier Communications. As many people have stated, I wish you could give a review with negative starts. Since the FIOS acquisition the technology and service has decreased. The old Verizon FIOS iPhone apps for controlling remotes and scheduling shows no longer work. You are forced to load "Frontier Communications" applications without the ability to view or schedule DVR remotely. We tried to get business Internet at an EXISTING FIOS location. The support people spent 3 weeks and can't even determine IF Frontier offers service for a building where they have existing clients. I don't think I've ever seen a bigger train-wreck than Verizion FIOS moving to Frontier. read more

I canceled our service in February because my husband died. In March I was told that Verizon had up to 90 days to refund my money. On April 10 I received the "first final bill". I called the billing office tonight and was told they would mail a "second final bill" on May 10. And that they would mail my refund "sometime in the 14 days" after that. Tonight makes it 73 days since I turned in their equipment. The woman reflexively thanked me for choosing Verizon. I told her I was *not* the person who had chosen Verizon and that I would not do business with them again. They have their equipment. They *know* they have their equipment, because during the previous phone call the customer service rep assured me that it was showing up in inventory. How hard is it to push a button and cut me a check? *Abysmal* customer service. And that's *final*. read more

1 star is too much for this company. You really deserve 0 star. I recently signed up for paperless billing and auto pay for my Verizon Fios Internet and Cable. I was utilizing their chat system and the CSR I was chatting with told me about the $5 discount. So, I signed up. Today, I received my most recent bill and NO discount. I opened a chat session and another CSR tells me that if I renew my contract for 2 years w/paperless billing and auto pay, that is the only way I would receive my discount. WHAT? My current contract expires on 5/19/2019. That's over a year. Why would I want to renew now? I am also moving out May 2019, so there is no need for me to lock myself into another 2 year contract. Verizon Fios is the worst when it comes to customer service. For as long as I have been with them as a customer, NOT 1 CSR has ever told me about the $5 discount until last month. Why is that Verizon? Why don't you tell your customers about this pertinent discount and give us the choice? $60 a year savings is significant for some families. I asked for an exception and was told NO. I am opening a new business and I am not going to be utilizing your services. This confirms my decision to go with Comast. Frontier Communications is HORRIBLE!!! They don't even deserve the 1 star I'm required to post. - Internet went down Tuesday. My wife stayed on the phone with them for an hour to fix it...problem was not fixed. - She was told they'd be here Thursday...Yes, two day trouble ticket. - She got a call on Wednesday that everything was fixed from their office so they closed the ticket...the problem WAS NOT fixed. Trouble ticket was reset for Thursday. - She waited from 8 am-1pm for them to arrive. She called and was told they'd be here between 8-5. She waited ALL day with no arrival or courtesy phone call. - I called them @ 7:30. I was told they took care of the issue externally and the ticket was closed, AGAIN! I promptly explained that their wasting of my wife's time and the handling of this issue is totally unacceptable. - I was told the service dispatch would call me within 30 minutes to set a time for service tonight...90 minutes later, STILL NO CALL!!! For all those going through the FIOS handover from Verizon to Frontier, it is not good. Run as fast as you can. They are not worth your money. This review is more for Frontier Fios. The Q just to live chat was 112... when I final got to speak to someone they were as helpful as Frontier allows them to be. Figured out new billing and login and so forth BUT it appears that my monthly bill which is a lot because I have a lot of services does not pay for VOD (Video On Demand). That is considered a free service and they will not discount my bill this month because of the outages. Seems to me I pay for that service every month. Frontiers take over is lacking foresight and their customer service will end up costing them more in the long run then if they offered a discount for disrupted services. read more

Verizon Fios Service is horrible in the Plano, Murphy area. If you have an opportunity to go with another provider, I would. We had a contractor cut our cable line, while they did replace it very quickly, it has been a month now and they have not sent anyone out to bury the cable. First, we don't remember getting a notification that the switch to Frontier was happening if they did tell us in the first place. Second, my internet has been out for 3 days and everytime I call, it takes 20 min for someone to answer and when they do, I have to explain the whole situation again. Third, the "tech" has me do the same troubleshooting steps that didn't work the previous time. All in all this entire process has been horrible and I will be seriously looking for another provider as soon as I can! Boo Verizon for taking the money and running. As an update to this review, Frontier just told me that I would have to wait until Friday 4/15/16 for a technician to come and fix my issue! This is a review of their Customer Care line only for Fios, I would give Zero Stars just for the Customer Service. Every time I call customer care about anything, there is a major screw up. 1. I called Verizon and asked them to cancel my TV Service on a future date. They cancelled it right away 2. I updated my mailing address with them, but my apartment number was missed out in the address. 3. Customer care person was clueless. Lack of concern for the customer, and difficult to deal with. Over the years had a couple of reps lie to get agreements, and I presume a commission, only to have Verizon refuse to listen to the tapes or allow me to go back to the plan I had as I had been promised by phone. I wish I could give Verizon Fios a negative star rating. The company is too big to provide any type of customer service. You get passed around until you finally have to give up. Service started at $109 a month for a triple bundle plan. After 2 1/2 years I was paying $188 a month for less services. I had no premium channels or anything fancy. They are impossible to deal with. on a scale of 1 to 100 i would say frontier is -100. this has been by far the worst customer experience i have ever encountered.... i upgraded my internet speed on April 24th and they said a tech would be out to my house on the April 30th (Saturday) when they didn't show or call i called back on Monday may 2nd and was told they where not sure why the tech did not make it out and they would have to call me back the following day (Tuesday may 3rd) when i didn't get a call back (again!) i called Wednesday may 4th and was transferred to what seemed like the entire regional staff over a period of four hours (wish i was exaggerating) just to find out the my order was canceled and a new one put in place with a install date of May 10th and they didn't know why this was done or who did it and had no idea why i wasn't contacted...tried to push this date to anything soon and got nothing...May 10th came and the tech did not show (surprise there!) called on the May 11th and was told it was a (again) they didn't know why the tech did not make it out for my upgrade and that a tech would be out to my house the next day (May 12th) to do my install. you guessed it! no call no show again! tried calling customer service again and its like a loop on the twilight zone!!! they didn't know why he didn't show!!!!! i guess im not getting my upgrade!! and the worst part is they are the only high speed internet providers in my area!!!!. i can honestly say i loathe this company at this moment in time!!!!!! recap: I "upgraded" my internet and they keep promising install dates that they don't show too... read more

He took offense and called me a m----- f----- for telling him to get off my property I had to call the cops because he wanted to linger at the edge of the sidewalk and try to provoke me.
