This was our first visit to Dirty Dog and I have to say I was extremely pleased. We have a 19 yr old little girl who has been very ill, so we have not been getting her groomed. Well, it was beyond time. Everyone there was so kind and loving to her. Alex was the young man who groomed Molly and he did the best job that any other groomers in the area, never did. He took his time, loved on her and perfected the art of Molly. I would recommend Alex any day. I just don't know any of the other groomers to actually make that recommendation. The absolute NASTIEST and DIRTIEST dog grooming business I have ever been to. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the smell of cigarettes, an absolutely disgusting floor, and the only chair available is covered in a thick layer of dirt, filth, and dust and has a plant on it. A customer was there when I walked in and he was complaining about how he had been there waiting for almost 45 minutes for his dog to be groomed and the groomers weren't going to be there until 9 and no one told him that before he showed up for the appointment. He was also upset because there is no place to sit since the disgusting chair had a plant on it. How is the place this dirty before 9 am? Has it ever been cleaned? You can hear the dogs in the back whining and yelping. The staff yelled at one of the dogs it yelped, then I heard nothing else. What's going on back there and why can't pet owners see where their pets are being groomed? There is absolutely terrible communication with customers. They give 1 intake form when you bring in more than 1 dog when each form is clearly only for 1 dog and tell you to "Just add the other dog to the form" when you ask for another form for your other dog. Ummmm, okay...where? Needless to say, I got my dogs out of there and they will never be back. I was truly hoping to find a new groomer for my dogs and had such high hopes for this place. I'm shocked at the positive reviews because there was nothing positive about that place or my experience. Dirty Dog....more like disgusting shop. I don't understand how the owner and all of the staff members can walk into that shop everyday and be proud of what it looks and smells like. previously I had 2 dogs which I had groomed at dirty dog for at least the past 10-12 years. I lost one last year and the other this year. Recently I adopted a 5 year old terrier with hair that was probably 3 to 4" long. she was deemed un groomable. I thought she was a long haired dog. one call and a consultation with Rachael and it was a done deal. no problem. Rachael advised a short hair cut which I was hesitant about but she's the expert. When I pick up Bree it was like a new and different dog. Short haired and happy as could be. This dog has probably been groomed before but possibly not in years. These guys are the best. read more

PLEASE BE AWARE! So this is the 3rd time my dog has been to this groomer and they shaved my dogs private area and my dog has been uncomfortable and crying every night from the pain! I don't know why they didn't tell me that they hurt my dog! Update: Spoke to the manager and she stated that if I brought in the invoice that the owner should be able to reimburse me for the vet bill. Went back to Dirty Dog to drop off the invoice and the staff that I spoke with was very rude and had an attitude! After 20 minutes of waiting in the car for someone to come out to the car to grab my invoice I decided it was best to go inside because I was clearly forgotten about! I took my Shorkie puppy for his first grooming appointment yesterday to Dirty Dog in Bolingbrook. He is almost 5 months old. He is a smart puppy and if I had went with his reaction to the groomer when I was dropping him off , I would've walked right out the door. He didn't want to go with her. He pee'd out of fea right there. I asked the receptionist how much was it going to cost to bath and trim ? She looked puzzled said," I don't know yet. " We have to evaluate him. I asked her to give me a call so that I can be prepared to pay. She never called. When I got there to pick him up 3 hours later she said it was going to be $60. I reminded her that I requested that she Call me prior to me getting there. I told her that the price was steep for what I had requested . I paid and added a $10 tip just because I often tip. She took the cash . They then brought out my puppy . They had shaved him completely, even around his private area. I almost didn't know him. He was traumatized and shaking and so glad I'd gotten there to rescue him. The groomer then came out and chastised me saying I needed to train him on how to behave when he is getting groomed. I reminded her that he was a puppy and this was his first visit. I am angry that my beautiful Puppy was treated like a mangy stray and I was treated disrespectfully. I will not be back to Dirty Dog. My Dog had her first time here the other day. I was referred here by my sister who has gone here since they opened. The staff is all extremely nice and understanding. The sweet receptionists knew how to handle everything. The woman I talked to about the haircut was extremely nice and knew exactly what we needed. They catered to my dogs medical need and his specialties with no problems. I was a little skeptical leaving my dog with people I do not know but they did an amazing job!! My sweet girl came back with a perfect haircut and smelled so sweet. Still having puppy hair, it is hard to get the right cut, as it never sits right, they gave my dog a perfect cut. Over the years he has gotten buisier and hired more help but I find the quality of his service to remain excellent. I plan on coming here for years to come. This was our first time taking our lab mix to a groomers. I had asked for a bath blow dry for deshedding and nail trimming. After I picked him up we drove home and when he walked into the house he started limping so I laid him down on and I saw that his paws 2 out of the 4 were bleeding and one of his nails were overly trimmed to the point where he was bleeding. I felt really bad becase this was his and out 1st experience at a groomers. I called to complain and even texted them the pics of our pup and they were nice to pay for the vet bill incase we took him in for an infection. That was nice of them but yet they never mentioned that they were going to shave his paws which I never asked them too. Great place for dogs! They do an excellent job even with hard to handle dogs. I have a very hyper Maltese/Yorkie and they always do great with his hair cut. He gets knotted very easily and needs special care which is always provided. Butch is amazing. You can get last minute appointments most of the time which is good for me since I never know when I'm going to be able to bring him in. My dog is never scared when he enters and is always happy when he leaves. The price for my dog is $48 which is fair when you think about how much work and time they put into grooming him. He is also always done in a timely manner and if there is any concerns when I pick him up they quickly resolve it and do whatever they can so that I'm happy. Would definitely recommend. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. They are completely unprofessional and disrespectful on the phone and in person. If you plan on going there and call ahead for a quote, just know that the price they give on the phone is only to get you to come in and they will easily add $20 or more for absolutely no reason. They will not tell you about the increased price until you come to pick up your puppy. When I asked them why they increased the price, they did not give a legitimate reason and when I asked why I wasn't informed of increase ahead of time on the phone when I called or even when I showed up to drop off my puppy, they said that their website states that prices vary even though they had confirmed the price twice ahead of the appointment. Highly recommend!!! My husband and I took our shipoo to Dirty Dog for the first time about 9 years ago. We were new to the Chicagoland area and unfortunately naive to city traffic. Dirty Dog stayed open for us well over an hour after close so we could pick up our dog that day. Not to mention he looked and smelled incredible. Their staff is extremely friendly and attentive to the dogs. We had been taking him about once every month and a half up until we just moved out of state. We started when one of our dogs got a bad knick at another groomers in Bolingbrook and they didn't even tell us about it. We have been using Dirty Dog for 3 years now and they are great! They do wonderful haircuts and one of our dogs is a rescue and they make an effort to have her needs met (she is scared of cages after being left behind from original family and having to go to a shelter). read more

I love the groom job they did. The staff is friendly. The prices are higher than Petsmart but on par with real groom shops. I felt like they really care about the animals. My only worry is if something were happen,everyone makes mistakes, there is no doctor there to provide immediate medical attention. They also didn't really check about vaccines, so I wonder if there is a potential for my dog to get sick there. Within the last two months it seems they have changed, one of our dogs the Chihuahua came home with a nose bleed, the other a golden retriever we were told was uncooperative. My dog is extremely difficult to groom; she is sooo wiggly!! I have given her three different medications prescribed by our vet to calm her during grooming. NONE have worked. After multiple groomers, medications and tears, my hubby and I actually had started to groom her ourselves, without much success, and looking a mess. But, at least it was something.
